Pasiphae reaches the barn door unnoticed, unlocking it with shaky hands and hurrying inside. Once in the interior of the vast barn she sees the many booths where Minos' cows lie sleeping or eating, waiting to be bred by the bull, and can't help a sting of jealously at knowing they enjoy his attentions freely while she had to wait until tonight to be with him.
