Rex shrugs and says, “Whether you need me here or not doesn’t change the fact that I’m coming with you. Although it does make my job a little easier,” Rex says with a smirk. He motions for Yahna to follow him as he begins walking down the long winding cobblestone road that leads away from the village to the north-east, the direction of Yahna’s own people.
It isn’t long before Rex speaks again, his voice strong and interested as he asks. “Do you have a weapon? I know you were taken captive by human soldiers, but not much else. If you’re trained and armed, that will be good to know in the event that we come upon some danger. We are a good few weeks away from here to your people, and the road is not a particularly safe one.” Rex watches Yahna’s reaction carefully to judge how she reacts to the prospect of danger.
