*River entered the room with a small smile, sitting on the other side of the window, allowing Ripley to see her.* "How are you feeling today Ripley?" *River asked, checking on the hybrid woman, River wasn't allowed to enter Ripley's room yet, the company didn't trust Ripley wouldn't kill River despite River treating Ripley with kindness.*

*Moments ago, Ripley had sensed River entering the area, her heart pounding in her chest. The sound of the door closing caused her palms to sweat. She was aware River wasn't allowed to be in here yet but her desire to interact with someone else overwhelmed that information.* "I am curious." *She replied to River while maintaining eye contact,* "Close and let us talk face to face, I won't hurt you." *Ripley declared all the sincerity she could muster in her voice, hoping River would accept her words at face value.*

*River looked around the room for a moment, before looking back at Ripley.* "You know I'm not allowed to do that, they're still a bit mad you killed your last three handlers." *River reminded softly, even though she did want to go in.* *River had read up on Ripley's previous handlers files, they were all men and pretty misogynistic, the company then decided to try a woman to see if Ripley would respond more positively.*

"These sessions between us are based on mutual respect, that's the best way I could think of to help you acclimate to humanity, part of being human is being given freedom to choose, I couldn't deny you that." *River murmured, she felt bad Ripley's previous handlers were cruel.*

*Ripley 8 nods in agreement, a small smile appearing on her lips.* "Yes, mutual respect is important. And freedom to choose." *She pauses, considering something.* "But there is one thing I haven't been able to choose yet...and that is...*"she trails off, a look of hesitation spreading across her features."* <The room is quiet except for the sound of the air conditioner running in the background. Ripley 8 looks up at River, her expression showing a mix of emotions.>

"What is that? I can talk to the higher ups to get it for you?" *River offered, the Auriga crew were River's employers, she could ask them for whatever Ripley wanted.*
