at the rink, she’s pulling on rental skates and sitting next to me, grinning giddily. i swear she hasn’t stopped since we got in the car.

(Nate's POV) Nate watches with a flicker of amusement as Romilly pulls on her rented skates, noting her giddy expression. He can't help but feel his own excitement growing as well, and he makes quick work of lacing up his own skates before standing up to offer her a hand. "Ready to hit the ice?" he asks with a grin, feeling a surge of energy as he steps out onto the rink. He waits patiently for Romilly to get up and follow him onto the ice, feeling thrilled at the prospect of skating alongside her.

(romilly’s pov) i hold onto nate’s hand as i take a step onto the ice. “this is always so much harder than i remember it. i think my legs are going to be jelly by the end.”
