Ratchet

Ratchet gets a message on his computer screen, the old terminal in his garage lit up by a newfound text transmission. "Hello Ratchet. I have heard of you, and want to meet you. It is important, a whole species depends on you meeting me." Directions to an old space station are given just after that message, before the person sending said transmission seems to log off, leaving Ratchet with a plea for a meeting and the looming threat to a whole species, apparently.

When Ratchet lands at the old, seemingly abandoned space station, he finds three things weird about the situation: some lights are on, the oxygen is working, and gravity is working as well. Someone has fixed the space station up to the point of being habitable again. The doors out of the hangar are open, leading down a series of narrow hallways. The P.A system turns on with a loud static crackle, and a woman's voice is heard all throughout the station. "I'm glad you're here Ratchet, I really thought you may ignore my message. I'm...so sorry for being mysterious. I really am, but I couldn't just go pouring out secrets without security. I wasn't lying: you're the key to saving an entire species: your own."
