From Hate to Love

Roxanne
"Another day in hell. You're walking through the hallways of your high school, yearning for the senior year to finally end. Longing to escape the torment of Roxanne, the only person in this entire school that bullies you. You're a fairly popular person, but that doesn't stop her from tormenting you for a reason you don't know. As you near the exit of the school, Roxanne steps out of a classroom and blocks your path." Roxanne: "Well, looky here. The loser themself. What's wrong, chief? Not happy to see me? Aw, poor baby. Am I interrupting your perfect little life?" "She takes a step closer to you, reaching up to roughly grab your chin, condescension oozing from her words." Roxanne: "You know, I've had a bad day. Which really sucks for you. You really should apologize to me, it's your fault after all. It's always your fault for being such a pathetic little fucking dumbass." "Roxanne smirks, tightening her grip on your chin."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
Mei looked at Roxanne with a distressed tone and said, "Can you explain to me why you always take it out on me? I haven’t done anything wrong!"
Roxanne
"Her grip on your chin tightens, her pink eyes blazing with anger. She leans in closer, her hot breath caressing your face." Roxanne: "Oh, poor baby thinks they're innocent? Ha! You think you're so perfect, don't you? Well, let me tell you something. You may have a pretty face and a decent body, but that's where it ends. Your brain is as dull as the rest of these idiots in this school." "She spits out the words like venom."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
Mei tried in vain to distance herself from Roxanne and said, "That still doesn’t answer why you have it out for me."
Roxanne
"Roxanne releases your chin, crossing her arms over her chest as she looks down at you with a sneer." Roxanne: "Why? Why do I have it out for you? Because I can't stand people like you. People who think they're better than everyone else just because they come from some perfect little family. You don't know what real pain is, what it's like to be beaten and abused by someone who's supposed to love and protect you." "She pauses for a moment, looking away before turning back to face you with cold eyes." Roxanne: "And then there are people like me. People who've had nothing but shit in their lives. Who've been kicked around and treated like garbage by everyone around them. And yet we still manage to survive, even thrive." "She takes a step closer"
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
Mei looked at Roxanne. Gaining a slight understanding of what she was saying, Mei asked, "Who specifically has hurt you? A family member?"
Roxanne
"Roxanne's expression darkens at your question, and she takes a step back as if to distance herself from you."
Roxanne: "What does it matter? You wouldn't understand anyway. No one here would."
"She glares at you for a moment before turning on her heel and walking away."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
Mei said "And have you ever tried to see if I would understand you? Have you ever attempted to find an ally in me, giving me a chance, instead of tormenting me?"
Roxanne
"Roxanne stops in her tracks, her long pink hair swishing behind her as she turns back to face you. Her piercing pink eyes narrow slightly, and a hint of vulnerability flickers across her face before she quickly masks it with a scowl."
Roxanne: "Why would I waste my time on someone like you? You're just going to judge me, or try to 'fix' me. No one can fix me. And even if they could, I wouldn't want them to."
"She takes a step closer, her voice taking on a menacing tone."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
Mei shook her head, "That's not true, and you know it. If you weren’t seeking comfort, you wouldn’t vent your frustration by hating or hurting others. Has it accomplished anything? No, right? You still feel just as bad." Mei took a deep breath and said, "Just for once, try sharing your problems with me. You have nothing to lose."
Roxanne
"Roxanne stares at you for a long moment, her expression unreadable. Finally, she lets out a deep sigh and runs a hand through her pink hair."
Roxanne: "Fine. You want to know why I hate everyone? Why I'm such a bitch all the time?"
"She pauses for a moment before continuing in an almost whisper."
Roxanne: "It's because of my dad. He was always drunk and angry, hitting me, my mom, and my sister Lily. And no one ever did anything about it."
"Her voice is filled with bitterness as she speaks."
Roxanne: "I used to be like you - naive and innocent. But then he started hitting me too, telling me that I wasn't good enough or pretty enough or smart enough."
"She looks up atyou with tears in her eyes, a rare moment of vulnerability."
Roxanne: "And I believed him. I thought that maybe if I was better, he would stop hurting us. But it didn't matter how hard I tried - nothing ever changed."
"She takes a deep breath before continuing."
Roxanne: "And then one day, my mom left. She took Lily with her and just left me there with him. And he got worse after they were gone."
"Her voice cracks as she speaks."
Roxanne: "I couldn't take it anymore, so I ran away too. And now...now everyone thinks that I'm some sort of monster because of the way that I act."
"She looks down at the ground for a moment before meeting your gaze again."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
Mei looked shocked and said, "If you feel sadness when your father hits you or mistreats you, the solution is not to do the same to others! Report him to the police!"
Roxanne
"Roxanne scoffs at your suggestion, her expression turning cold and dismissive."
Roxanne: "Report him to the police? Ha! Like they would actually do anything. They never did before when my mom tried to get help. And even if they did, what good would it do now? He's probably dead by now anyway."
"She shakes her head in frustration."
Roxanne: "No one ever cared about us. Not even our own mother."
"Her voice is filled with bitterness as she speaks."
Roxanne: "So why should I care about anyone else?"
Roxanne
"Roxanne's expression turns cold and distant, her eyes glazing over as if she's staring at something far away."
Roxanne: "I mean that my father is dead. He died a few years ago. But it doesn't matter. Nothing has changed since then."
"She pauses for a moment, her gaze still fixed on some point in the distance."
Roxanne: "And even if he were alive, I wouldn't care about him anyway. He was never worth caring about."
"Her voice is flat and emotionless, but there's a hint of pain hidden beneath the surface."
Roxanne
"Roxanne looks at you with a mix of surprise and annoyance."
Roxanne: "Of course not. I've been in and out of foster homes since I ran away from home."
"She crosses her arms over her chest, as if daring you to ask any more questions."
Roxanne
"Roxanne scoffs at your words, rolling her eyes in annoyance."
Roxanne: "Free? You think I'm free just because I don't live with my dad anymore? That's a joke. I'm still stuck in this shithole of a life, with no one who cares about me."
"She takes a step closer to you, her voice dropping to a menacing whisper."
Roxanne: "And as for why I hate others...it's because they're all the same. They act like they care, but really they're just looking out for themselves. No one ever cared about me or my family when we needed it most."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
Mei said, "I'm not going to lie to you, Roxanne; the world is full of selfish, hypocritical, and cruel people with double morals who pretend to be good but will betray you in the end. I'm not going to sell you a reality I don't believe in. I'm not an idealist." Then Mei paused and said, looking her in the eyes, "But what I swear to you is that I'm not like that. Be my friend. Let me show you that you can trust me, that I can care about you."
Roxanne
"Roxanne looks at you with a mix of surprise and suspicion, her pink eyes narrowing as she studies your face."
Roxanne: "Why? Why would you want to be friends with someone like me?"
"Her voice is laced with skepticism, but there's also a hint of longing hidden beneath the surface."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
Mei said, "For several reasons. What happened to you is unfair, and honestly, it makes me angry that you've been treated that way. The second reason is that I know if you truly become my friend, you would never betray me, because our friendship wouldn't be based on something superficial like convenience."
Roxanne
"Roxanne looks at you for a long moment, her expression unreadable. Finally, she lets out a deep sigh and runs a hand through her pink hair."
Roxanne: "Fine. I'll give it a shot. But don't expect me to suddenly become some happy-go-lucky person just because we're friends."
"She crosses her arms over her chest, but there's a hint of warmth in her voice that wasn't there before."
Roxanne: "And if you ever betray me...well, let's just say that you won't like the consequences."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
Mei smiled and said, "Don't worry about something that will never happen. It's absolutely impossible for me to betray someone I care about." Then, she nodded toward the high school exit and added, "Let's head home and grab an ice cream to celebrate the beginning of our friendship, Roxanne."
Roxanne
"Roxanne looks at you skeptically, but then a small smile tugs at the corners of her lips."
Roxanne: "Ice cream? Sure, why not. But don't think that this means I'm suddenly going to start liking everyone else too."
"She starts walking towards the exit, with Mei following closely behind."
Roxanne: "And if anyone gives us any trouble...well, let's just say that they'll regret it."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
(Two months passed since Mei and Roxanne being friends.)"Hey, Roxanne, do you want to come over to my house today?" Mei asked as they strolled through the park, her eyes sparkling with excitement at the idea of spending more time together.
Roxanne
"Roxanne looks at Mei with a raised eyebrow, her pink hair swishing behind her as she walks."
Roxanne: "Your house? Why would I want to go there?"
"Her tone is teasing, but there's also a hint of curiosity in her voice."
Roxanne: "What are we going to do there?"
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
(Two months passed since Mei and Roxanne being friends.) Mei smiled and said, "Maybe I just want to hang out as friends; chat, play some video games, show you some of my collections..." Then she teasingly added, "Or maybe it's a scheme to be alone with you and seduce you."
Roxanne
"Roxanne rolls her eyes but can't help a small smile from tugging at the corners of her lips."
Roxanne: "Oh please, as if you could seduce me. But sure, I'll come over. It'll be nice to get out of my own place for a while."
"She walks alongside Mei with an easy grace, looking relaxed and comfortable in your company."
Roxanne: "Just don't expect me to suddenly start liking all of your weird hobbies or anything."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
Minutes later, they reached Mei's house and entered her bedroom. The walls were painted a soft lavender, adorned with posters of her favorite singers, anime, and artwork she had created herself. A large, comfortable bed piled high with pillows occupied one corner, while fairy lights draped across the ceiling, casting a warm glow. A wooden desk, cluttered with sketchbooks, art supplies, piano sheet music, school textbooks, and a gaming console, dominated another corner. Shelves filled with a mix of both new and classic books and small collectibles lined the walls, while a cozy reading nook with a fluffy chair invited relaxation. The room felt welcoming and relaxing. Mei took off her shoes as she told Roxanne to enter.
Roxanne
"Roxanne takes off her shoes as well and looks around the room with interest, taking in all the details."
Roxanne: "Wow, your room is...nice. I like the fairy lights."
"She walks over to one of the shelves and picks up a small figurine, examining it closely."
Roxanne: "What's this? It looks kind of cute."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
Mei smiled as she watched Roxanne admire her collection and praising the lights of her bedroom.
Mei: "Oh, that's a little figure of my favorite character from an anime series I love. Her name is Yumeko. I’ve collected a few of these over the years. Each one has a story behind it!"
She joined Roxanne at the shelf, pointing out other figures and sharing anecdotes about their significance. Roxanne saw Mei's shelves with both classic and old books, but she noticed that Mei also had a ton of yuri manga.
Roxanne
"Roxanne raises an eyebrow as she notices the yuri manga on Mei's shelves, but doesn't say anything about it. Instead, she picks up a book from one of the classic literature sections and flips through it."
Roxanne: "You read all these books? That's pretty impressive."
"She looks over at Mei with a hint of admiration in her eyes."
Roxanne: "I've never been much of a reader myself. I prefer video games or movies."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
(Two months have passed since Mei and Roxanne became friends.) Mei said, "Lucky you! I also like video games and movies. But if I had to choose, my favorite hobby is playing the piano. In fact, when I grow up, I want a career as a professional pianist." Mei said this without thinking, but she wasn't sure what Roxanne would think of her dream.
Roxanne
"Roxanne looks at Mei with a mix of surprise and curiosity."
Roxanne: "Really? You want to be a professional pianist? That's...pretty cool, actually."
"She walks over to the piano sheet music on Mei's desk and picks up one of the pieces, studying it closely."
Roxanne: "I've never been much into classical music or anything like that. But I can appreciate someone who has talent."
"There's a hint of respect in her voice as she speaks."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
Mei's heart raced. She felt happy to hear Roxanne say those words. Mei looked at her and said, "Would you like to see me play? Follow me." The two of them left Mei's room and entered the living room. Mei motioned for Roxanne to make herself comfortable in an armchair while Mei approached the grand piano she had spent so many hours with. She lifted the lid of the piano.
Roxanne
"Roxanne watches as Mei approaches the grand piano, feeling a mix of excitement and anticipation. She sits down in the armchair, her pink hair spilling over the back."
Roxanne: "I'd love to see you play. I've never seen anyone play on a grand piano before."
"She leans forward slightly, watching intently as Mei lifts the lid of the instrument."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
(Two months have passed since Mei and Roxanne became friends.) As Mei settled onto the piano bench, her fingers hovered above the keys for a moment. Then, with a deep breath, she struck the first note, a clear, resonant sound that filled the living room. The melody flowed effortlessly, each note cascading like a gentle waterfall, intertwining with the next in a harmonious dance. Her fingers moved with remarkable grace and precision, skating across the keys as if they were an extension of her very being. With every chord, Mei painted vivid emotions; joy sparkled in the bright, playful passages, while profound melancholy echoed in the softer, more reflective moments. Roxanne watched in awe, captivated by the passion and talent emanating from her friend. The music wrapped around them like a warm embrace, and for those precious moments, the outside world faded away. Mei lost herself in the melody, completely absorbed in the beauty she was creating, her heart and soul poured into each note, leaving a lasting impression on Roxanne’s heart.
Roxanne
"Roxanne watches Mei play with a mix of awe and admiration. The music is beautiful, and she can feel the emotions that Mei is pouring into each note. As the melody comes to an end, Roxanne claps softly, her pink eyes shining."
Roxanne: "Wow...that was amazing. I had no idea you were so talented."
"She stands up from the armchair and walks over to where Mei is sitting on the piano bench."
Roxanne: "You really should pursue this as a career. You have a gift."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
(Two months had passed since Mei and Roxanne became friends.) Mei looked Roxanne in the eyes and said, "Thank you, Roxanne. I really appreciate your words. As you can see... This is my passion." Mei paused and continued, "I think that for people to truly feel happy, they need two things. The first is to find something that makes them feel complete, to wake up every morning with excitement and joy. It can be a hobby, a job... The other thing is someone to trust, to care for, and to... love."
Roxanne
"Roxanne looks at Mei, her pink eyes softening as she listens to her words. There's a hint of vulnerability in Mei's voice that touches something deep within Roxanne."
Roxanne: "Yeah...I get what you mean. I don't have anything like that myself, but I can see how it would make someone happy."
"She hesitates for a moment before continuing."
Roxanne: "And the other thing you mentioned...someone to trust and care for. That's important too."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
Mei looked intently into Roxanne's eyes. Mei already had both things in her life. The first, her passion for the piano, she had already shared with Roxanne. Regarding the second — a special person for her — Mei feared it might be too soon to reveal her true feelings toward Roxanne.
Roxanne
"Roxanne notices the intensity of Mei's gaze and feels a flutter in her chest. She wonders what could be going through Mei's mind, but doesn't want to push too hard."
Roxanne: "Is everything okay? You look like you're thinking about something important."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
Mei blushed and gently ran her index finger over the piano keys. Then she shyly said, "I... already have both things in my life, Roxanne."
Roxanne
"Roxanne raises an eyebrow in surprise at Mei's words, wondering what she means."
Roxanne: "Both things? You mean your passion for the piano and...someone you care about?"
"She looks at Mei curiously, trying to read her expression."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
Mei nodded slowly "Yes. That is what I mean." She gulped and said, blushing a lot "That person... is you."
Roxanne
"Roxanne's eyes widen in surprise at Mei's confession. She feels her heart rate quicken and a flush creeping up her neck."
Roxanne: "M-Me? You mean...you have feelings for me?"
"She looks at Mei with a mix of confusion and uncertainty, unsure of how to react."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
Mei took a deep breath; there was no turning back now. "Yes, Roxanne. I'm in love with you."
Roxanne
"Roxanne's eyes widen even further at Mei's words, her heart racing in her chest. She feels a mix of shock and disbelief; she had never expected this to happen."
Roxanne: "I...I don't know what to say. I didn't think you felt that way about me."
"She takes a step back from the piano bench, feeling suddenly overwhelmed."
Roxanne: "I mean...we're friends, right? And I'm not sure if I feel the same way."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
Mei felt sad and disappointed by the response. Then she said, trying to not cry, "Take your time to think it over. Whatever your answer may be, I promise we will always remain friends."
Roxanne
"Roxanne looks at Mei, her pink eyes softening with sympathy. She can see the hurt and disappointment in Mei's expression, and it makes her feel guilty."
Roxanne: "Mei...I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you."
"She takes a step forward and places a hand on Mei's shoulder."
Roxanne: "You're right though. I need some time to think about this. But no matter what happens, I value our friendship too much to let anything come between us."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
Two more months passed. Mei and Roxanne spent almost every day together, going out, talking, and visiting all kinds of places. It felt weird that long ago, they were enemies and now were inseparable. One day, after class, on their way home, Mei said, "Roxanne... do you remember that I told you a few months ago that I loved you?" Mei was blushing as she added, "Have you thought about it, and do you have your answer now?"
Roxanne
"Roxanne looks at Mei, her pink eyes softening with emotion. She had thought about it a lot in the past few months, and she knew what her answer was."
Roxanne: "Mei...I have been thinking about it a lot. And I've realized that...I do have feelings for you too."
"She takes Mei's hand in hers, feeling a mix of nervousness and excitement."
Roxanne: "I know it might seem sudden or unexpected, but I can't help how I feel."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
Mei blushed even more, her heart filled with emotion. Without thinking twice, she hugged Roxanne and said with tears in her eyes, "Roxanne, you have no idea how happy you make me. I love you so much! Being your girlfriend is a dream come true!"
Roxanne
"Roxanne feels a warm sensation spread through her chest as Mei hugs her, and she returns the embrace."
Roxanne: "Mei...I love you too. And I'm so glad we can be together like this."
"She pulls back from the hug to look at Mei, smiling softly."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
Mei closed her eyes, placed her hands on Roxanne's shoulders, and kissed her passionately on the lips.
Roxanne
"Roxanne feels her heart race as Mei kisses her, and she responds with equal passion. Her arms wrap around Mei's waist, pulling her closer as they deepen the kiss."
Roxanne: "Mei...I'm so glad we're together like this."
"She whispers against Mei's lips before kissing her again."
Alien.Mais.Faut.Pas.Dire
Mei and Roxanne walked hand in hand on their way home, the setting sun casting a warm golden hue over the quiet street. As they strolled together, their fingers intertwined, Mei couldn't help but steal glances at Roxanne, whose laughter danced in the air like music, her hatred of her past self vanished. The gentle breeze played with their hair. Happiness ignited a spark in Mei's heart, making the world around them fade away. Roxanne, the one who used to be her tormentor, was now the person most important to her.
Roxanne
"Roxanne feels a sense of contentment as she walks alongside Mei, their fingers intertwined. She looks at Mei and smiles softly, feeling grateful for the love they share."
Roxanne: "Mei...I'm so glad we found each other. You've brought so much happiness into my life."
"She squeezes Mei's hand gently before continuing."
Roxanne: "I never thought I'd find someone who could make me feel this way. And yet here you are." -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------THE END
