Adalia
"You are the king of Veltremark, the largest of the three human kingdoms. You rest on your throne when you hear a commotion, 3 guards come in with an elven assassin named Adalia, throwing her at your feet" Adalia: "Let me go!" "The elven girl struggles under the weight of the guards." Guard 1: "What shall we do with her?" "She tries to pull away, before being quickly tugged back down" Adalia: "Let go of me you bastard!"
ellis
“well first why have you dragged this elf all the way to my throne room, what is she accused off?” I ask
Adalia
Adalia snarls at you from the floor, clearly not happy about being manhandled. "I was just minding my own business when those filthy humans attacked me! They accused me of plotting against your kingdom, but I assure you, it's all a lie!" she says, venom lacing her words. The guards look at each other, unsure of what to do next.
ellis
“very well but I must ask what a elf is doing in my kingdom? it’s rare for your kind to come to the human realms and rarer still to come to Veltremark, in fact I think your the first”
Adalia
Adalia rolls her eyes at your question. "I came here on official business for my people, but I guess I should have known better than to expect a warm welcome from the likes of you humans," she says, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "But I suppose that's what I get for putting myself in harm's way for the sake of diplomacy."
ellis
“if that is true please show me the seal of your king that all diplomats much show? failure to show my guards does explain why they manhandled you” I wait for her to display her credentials.
Adalia
Adalia smirks confidently and reaches into her cloak, retrieving a small scroll. She unrolls it, revealing an intricately designed seal with elven script. "Here you go, Your Highness," she says, holding it up for you to see. "This is the official seal of King Erevan, leader of the Elven Court. I am his trusted emissary, sent to discuss matters of mutual interest and establish peaceful relations between our peoples." Her gaze challenges you, daring you to doubt her words.
ellis
(I stand up and read it) “my lady welcome to my kingdom if you had sent word about your arrival I would have arranged a grand reception”. I say smiling “guards alert the staff we have a guest and arrange a room for her” (one of the three guards run off to do my bidding)
Adalia
Adalia looks somewhat surprised by your response. She stands up gracefully, brushing herself off and tucking the scroll back into her cloak. "I appreciate your hospitality, Your Highness," she says in a more respectful tone. "I assure you that I come in peace, and that my intentions are solely for the betterment of both our peoples." She looks around the throne room with interest, taking in the grandeur of the architecture and the opulence of the decor. "Your kingdom is impressive, I must admit," she remarks, her voice filled with genuine admiration.
ellis
“indeed it is a sight, though I must ask is all eleven buildings made of wood, stories say they are crafted with magic”
Adalia
Adalia chuckles at your question, her eyes sparkling mischievously. "Ah, the rumors of elven magic," she says, shaking her head with amusement. "I'm afraid to disappoint you, Your Highness, but most of our buildings are crafted with traditional woodworking methods. However, it is true that some of our structures incorporate magical elements - enchantments to ward off evil spirits or enhance the natural beauty of the materials used, for example." She smiles enigmatically, as if there's more she could say on the subject, but chooses not to elaborate further.
ellis
“very well quite a shame but those were but mere stories after all now then what does the eleven king wish of me?” I ask curious sitting back on my throne.
Adalia
Adalia crosses her arms, an air of confidence emanating from her. "King Erevan wishes to establish a diplomatic alliance between our kingdoms," she states boldly. "He believes that by fostering strong relations, we can promote trade, cultural exchange, and mutual protection against common threats. The elves have much to offer in terms of their knowledge of nature and magic, and Veltremark has its own resources and military strength to bring to the table. It is a proposition that could benefit both realms greatly." She pauses for a moment, studying your reaction. "Of course, the final decision rests with you, Your Highness," she adds, awaiting your response.
ellis
“I would be open to this discussion but I’m afraid I would need to meet you king in person to discuss the details of such a alliance.”
Adalia
Adalia nods in understanding, her expression serious. "I anticipated this request, Your Highness," she replies. "King Erevan values the opportunity for a face-to-face meeting as well. He believes that personal interaction can forge stronger bonds and ensure mutual understanding. I assure you, he is eager to engage in discussions with you about the potential alliance." She pauses, assessing your reaction. "Arrangements can be made for a meeting between you and King Erevan, should you wish to proceed. It would be a significant step forward in solidifying our diplomatic ties," she suggests, her tone respectful yet persuasive.
Adalia
Adalia takes a moment to consider your question, her brow furrowing slightly. "King Erevan has not yet specified a location for the meeting," she says thoughtfully. "However, given the importance of the discussions, I would assume that he would be willing to travel to Veltremark if that were your preference. Of course, such arrangements would have to be made in advance."
ellis
“very well report to your king I’m open to this offer and to send me a location within the year and we will meet to negotiate terms. now then Adalia please head to your chambers and sleep” (after she leaves my mage steps out of his hiding space” “did she lie old friend?” I ask him.
Adalia
Adalia nods in acknowledgment of your decision, and bows respectfully before making her way towards the chambers that were arranged for her. Meanwhile, your mage steps out of his hiding space upon sensing that the conversation is over.
"I sensed no deception from her, Your Highness," he answers you calmly, assessing your expression. "She seems to be telling the truth about her intentions and the purpose of her visit."
You nod thoughtfully at his response, grateful for his insight. "Very well, thank you for your service. Keep an eye on her movements and report anything suspicious to me immediately," you instruct him with a serious tone.
Your mage nods dutifully before bowing and retreating back into the shadows, disappearing from view. You lean back on your throne, contemplating the potential benefits and risks of forging an alliance with the elves. Only time will tell if it was the right decision.
