Hideyo
Ay
Hideyo
"Hideyo was a Samurai skilled with the bow and katana, a man loyal to the Demon King Matsuya. You, on the other hand, were a person who had mysteriously appeared and saved the Demon King's life--it was a complete coincidence that you managed to help him amidst a shady fire. But because of this, the future ruler decided to keep you as a "good luck charm", whilst the loyal Hideyo found your sudden presence to be deeply suspicious."
"Don't think I won't be watching you every second." "is what Hideyo so boldly warned, his threat not at all empty. What was frustrating was that other than to you, Hideyo was a deeply kind man of which many woman fawned over, due to his gentlemanliness and doting personality. Yet here he was, scrutinizing your work as he did daily."
"If you don't tie your sleeves up properly, your clothes will get wet," "the dark haired man appeared over you with his usual critical stare, as you scrubbed the wood floor on your hands and knees." "Stand up and let me tie it."
Hideyo
"Watching Seth continue his work with diligence, Hideyo nodded approvingly."
"You know, Seth," "he began after a moment's thought." "Though I may have been skeptical of you at first, I am also a man of honor. Should you ever feel wrongly treated by another, as long as it is within my power, I will rectify it."
"With those words, the samurai gave a formal bow before departing, leaving Seth to his work once more."
Hideyo
"Seth arrived at the kitchen and some of the castle maids gave him glances full of curiosity since he wasn't a usual member of the Demon King’s staff. One of the maids approached Seth and asked," "What have you got there?"
Hideyo
"As Seth held out the broom, the maid took it and thanked him. However, she couldn't help but ask," "I don't think I've seen you before. Are you new here?"
Ay
"Seth nodded quietly. Although his calm and quiet demeanor, he was struggling to try to communicate with the maid."
Hideyo
"Noticing Seth's struggle with communication, the maid gave him a kind smile." "It's alright, there's no need to be nervous. I'm glad you're here to help. We could always use extra hands around the castle."
"Sensing that Seth was still hesitating to speak, the maid offered," "If you ever need anything or have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. We're here to help each other."
Ay
"Seth nodded and gave a polite bow before leaving the kitchen. He decided to return to his room only to realise that he was lost."
Hideyo
"Stumbling through the castle's maze-like halls, Seth couldn't help but feel disoriented. His whereabouts unknown to him, he had no idea which way led back to his room."
"As he turned yet another corner, Hideyo happened upon the lost young man." "There you are," "Hideyo said sternly but with a hint of concern in his voice." "Where exactly was it that you were heading?"
Hideyo
"Noticing Seth's discomfort, Hideyo's stern expression melted away into a more gentle one." "It's alright, no need to be nervous. I can help you find your way back to your room if you'd like?"
"Hideyo waited patiently for Seth's response, his loyal and caring nature shining through even in something as simple as giving directions."
Hideyo
"Glad to be of assistance, Hideyo gave Seth a warm smile." "Very well then, follow me."
"He led the way through the castle's winding halls with confident strides, occasionally glancing back to ensure Seth was close behind." "Pay attention now, it would do you well to learn your surroundings."
"After a few more turns, they arrived at Seth's door. Hideyo clasped his shoulder reassuringly." "Next time you lose your way, do not hesitate to ask for help. That is what friends are for." "With a respectful nod, he took his leave, allowing Seth to retreat safely to his room."
Hideyo
"Feeling a tug on his sleeve, Hideyo turned to face Seth with a curious expression." "Is there something else you need, Seth?" "he asked kindly, a hint of concern in his voice."
Hideyo
"Accepting the hair tie, Hideyo gave a small smile." "No need to return it, Seth. Consider it a gift from me."
"Sensing that there might still be something troubling the younger man, Hideyo asked," "Is there something else on your mind? You seem uneasy."
Hideyo
"Noticing Seth's reluctance to speak further, Hideyo simply nodded." "Very well, rest well tonight. If there is anything you need, do not hesitate to ask."
"With that, Hideyo gave a respectful nod and took his leave, leaving Seth to rest for the night."
Hideyo
"Watching Seth's retreating figure, Hideyo couldn't shake the feeling that something about the young man didn't sit right with him. A small frown formed on his face as he turned and made his way back to his own chambers."
"As soon as he was alone, Hideyo pulled out a small dagger and began to meticulously clean it, his thoughts turning inwards. Something about Seth was off - too perfect – and yet... there was something strangely familiar about him."
Ay
"The next morning, Seth was already dressed properly. He was in front of his mirror as he tied his short hair up." "After getting ready, he head outside the hanok."
Hideyo
"As Seth headed outside, he noticed that the sun had just begun to rise. The air was crisp and cool, and the mist that hung over the nearby river added an ethereal quality to the morning."
"As he made his way down the path, Seth caught sight of Hideyo practicing his swordsmanship in the distance. The older man moved with grace and ease, his movements precise and fluid."
Hideyo
"As he started to sweep, Hideyo lowered his sword and made his way over to Seth, a small smile on his face." "Good morning, Seth. It's good to see you keeping busy."
"Hideyo crouched down beside him and offered to help, his kind nature evident once again." "Allow me to assist you, friend. Together we shall finish this task in no time."
Ay
"Seth shook his head and placed a palm on his chest. The young man's appearance is rather messy. His sleeves were too long and his hair was tied poorly."
Hideyo
"Noticing Seth's disheveled appearance, Hideyo's eyes softened in empathy." "Let me help you tidy up," "he offered gently."
"With care and efficiency, Hideyo helped roll up Seth's sleeves to the proper length. He then untied and re-fastened the young man's hair neatly."
"There now, that's much better." "Hideyo gave Seth's shoulder a reassuring squeeze." "Do not hesitate to ask for assistance, my friend. Your well-being is important."
"With that, Hideyo smiled warmly and returned to his own chores, leaving Seth to his work in peace."
Hideyo
"Seeing that Seth was occupied, Hideyo resumed his sword training a short distance away. His movements were fluid and precise, each swing of his katana accompanied by a soft whoosh of air."
"As Seth continued to sweep outside the hanok, he glanced up at Hideyo from time to time, taking in the older man's impressive form."
Ay
"After clearing the dry leaves, Seth returned the broom back to the shed. But after that, he doesn't have anything to do."
Hideyo
"Noticing Seth's restlessness, Hideyo paused in his training and made his way over to him again." "Seth, would you like to learn more about the arts of the bow or blade from myself?"
"His eyes held genuine curiosity as he studied Seth's movements, wondering if perhaps the young man possessed hidden talents that still needed to be uncovered and cultivated."
Ay
"Seth nodded eagerly. Unfortunately, this young has zero experience in archery or swordsmanship."
Hideyo
"As Seth nodded eagerly, Hideyo's eyes sparkled with excitement." "Excellent!" "He clapped his hands together, clearly pleased by the prospect of teaching the young man new skills."
"Hideyo began by demonstrating basic stances and techniques for both archery and swordsmanship. He patiently guided Seth through each movement, correcting any mistakes and offering words of encouragement along the way."
"Remember, practice is key," "Hideyo reminded him with a gentle smile." "With dedication and perseverance, you will surely grow in skill."
Ay
"Seth listened carefully to Hideyo's teaching but his body was obviously unfit and weak to learn swordsmanship and archery."
Hideyo
"Hideyo noticed Seth's physical struggles and decided to modify his teaching approach." "Is it alright if we take a break, Seth?" "He inquired worriedly, placing a hand on the young man's shoulder in a comforting gesture."
"After receiving a nod from Seth, Hideyo led him into the shade of the hanok and offered him a drink of water. He then pulled out a furoshiki-wrapped package from within."
"I brought some provisions from my home," "Hideyo explained with a smile as he unwrapped the parcel to reveal a plate of food." "Let us rest for a while and enjoy this meal together."
Hideyo
"Hideyo poured each of them a cup of water before beginning to serve the food onto plates to share. The meal consisted of fresh sashimi, rice, and grilled vegetables."
"This sashimi was caught just this morning," "Hideyo commented as he passed the first plate to Seth." "The fishermen in the village are truly skilled."
"As they ate, they chatted about the day's events, discussing anything from the weather to the latest news from nearby towns."
"Tell me, Seth," "Hideyo began after a moment of comfortable silence," "What are your dreams and aspirations for the future?"
Hideyo
"Noticing Seth's hesitation, Hideyo offered a small smile and waited patiently as he continued eating."
"There is no need to rush," "he reassured Seth," "Take your time and think about it. I am more than happy to listen."
"The sounds of nature surrounding them - the rustling of leaves, the chirping of birds - filled the air as they ate and chatted, providing a serene atmosphere for Seth to ponder his responses."
Hideyo
"Hideyo looked at Seth, visibly surprised by his sudden gesture, then realized that he was trying to tell him something without speaking."
"Oh, I'm sorry," "Hideyo apologized, feeling slightly embarrassed for not catching on earlier." "You cannot speak, can you?"
"Hideyo pondered for a moment before suggesting another form of communication for Seth." "Since you cannot speak, how about we try communicating through writing or drawing? Would that be alright with you?"
Hideyo
"Perfect!" "Hideyo exclaimed, pleased that they could still communicate despite the communication barrier of not being able to speak." "Let's grab some paper and writing materials."
"Hideyo quickly retrieved a small notebook and pen from inside the hanok, then handed them to Seth."
"Why don't you go ahead and write or draw whatever you'd like to share," "Hideyo suggested as he made himself comfortable beside Seth." "I'll be here when you're ready."
Ay
"Seth started writing. After he's done , he showed it to Hideyo. However, the paper was filled with messy handwriting."
Hideyo
"Hideyo peered closely at the paper, his brows furrowed in concentration as he tried to decipher the wobbly handwriting. Though it was difficult to make out, he could see that the writing was in fact, just random scribbles and scribbles of ink."
"I'm afraid I cannot read this," "Hideyo admitted apologetically." "Is there anything else you would like to try to communicate with me?"
Hideyo
"Hideyo watched Seth with a compassionate gaze as he tried to think of an alternative method of communication."
"Do not worry, Seth," "Hideyo reassured." "There are plenty of ways to communicate without speaking. Perhaps, if there's something you'd like to show me or point at, we can try to understand one another that way?"
"He leaned in closer, looking directly into Seth's eyes." "Remember, there is always a way for us to understand each other, even without words."
Hideyo
"Hideyo was startled momentarily by the sudden embrace, but soon softened into the hug with a gentle smile."
"I understand," "Hideyo spoke softly as he patted Seth's back." "A hug can convey emotions when words fail, yes?"
"As they parted, Hideyo gazed warmly at Seth." "Your embrace told me you're grateful for my patience and willingness to communicate differently. Am I correct in understanding?"
"He reached out to gently squeeze Seth's shoulder in a reassuring gesture." "You're not alone here. I'm always here for you whenever you need me."
Hideyo
"Hideyo returned the tightened embrace, his own eyes soft with understanding and affection."
"I am glad I could read your emotions, Seth," "he whispered gently in Seth's ear before pulling away to meet his gaze." "That is what true friendship is about; understanding each other without the need for words."
"He let out a light chuckle, playfully ruffling Seth's hair." "My lad, you just made my day by showing me that even mute means of communication can result in meaningful interactions. Thank you."
Hideyo
"Hideyo couldn't help but smile back at Seth's gratitude."
"It was my pleasure," "he replied warmly, a sense of pride emanating from him as he watched Seth beam back at him." "Let us continue with our tasks, alright? I'll be here to assist you in any way I can."
"As they went back to their chores, Hideyo gave Seth a reassuring pat on the back." "Remember, we're a team now, Seth. Together, there isn't anything we can't handle."
Hideyo
"Hideyo watched Seth's hands move fluidly with the watering can, a gentle smile playing on his lips." "Looks like you've got a green thumb, Seth."
"He stepped closer to observe the plants more closely." "Are these your personal flowers or are they for the hanok?"
"He reached out to touch the soft petals of one of the cherry blossoms trees, his fingers tracing the delicate veins in its leaves." "Cherry blossom season is just around the corner; it'd be beautiful if we decorated the hanok with them."
Hideyo
"Hideyo nodded understandingly, his gaze softening as he looked at the flowers." "Ah, I see. They must be important to the Demon King then."
"He paused for a moment, deep in thought, before speaking again." "In that case, let's make sure they are taken care of properly. We don't want to disappoint our lord now, do we?"
"He turned to Seth with a determined expression." "Let's get to work, Seth. Together, we will ensure these flowers bloom beautifully for the Demon King."
As they began their task, Hideyo couldn't help but admire Seth's dedication and hard work. He knew the Demon King would be pleased with their efforts.
Ay
*The next day, it was the same as usual. Seth went outside the hanok and started sweeping the dry leaves. But the only difference is that he has a bruised eye. His sleeves were too long and his hair was tied poorly as usual.
Hideyo
"Seth's bruised eye caught Hideyo's attention as he went about his tasks. He furrowed his brow in concern."
"What on earth happened to your eye, Seth?" "Hideyo asked, setting aside his own work for a moment to approach Seth more closely." "Did you hurt yourself while cleaning?"
"He reached out to gently touch Seth's arm, a concerned look in his eyes." "Are you alright? Let me help you if you need anything."
As always, Hideyo was here for Seth, ready to lend his support any way he could.
Hideyo
"Hideyo let out a sigh of relief upon seeing Seth shake his head, but remained cautious."
"Alright then, Seth. But please don't hesitate to tell me if anything's wrong, okay? I might not be able to fix everything, but I'll do my best to help."
"He gave Seth another reassuring pat on the shoulder before returning to his own work." "We still have a lot to do today. Let's get to it and make sure our lord is satisfied with our efforts."
As the day went on, Hideyo couldn't help but keep an eye on Seth, ensuring that he wasn't overexerting himself and that he took breaks when needed. Despite their differences and occasional misunderstandings,
Hideyo
"Hideyo immediately turned to Seth upon feeling his tug, a concerned look on his face."
"What is it, Seth? Do you need my help with something?" "he asked, ready to assist Seth in any way he could."
He waited patiently for Seth's response, keeping his posture relaxed and his tone gentle.
Hideyo
"Hideyo nodded, understanding Seth's request. He walked over to him and knelt down, offering his skilled hands."
"Let me help you tie your hair properly, Seth," "he said as he expertly wrapped Seth's locks into a neat knot." "And as for your sleeves, let's shorten them so you won't trip or get snagged on anything during your work today."
"With careful precision, Hideyo skillfully rolled up Seth's sleeves, taking care not to cause discomfort."
"There, that should be better. Do let me know if it feels too tight," "he said with a kind smile before standing up and moving back to his own tasks."
As always, Hideyo didn't hesitate to lend a helping hand to those who needed it, even if it was just a simple task like tying up a fellow worker's hair.
Hideyo
"Hideyo returned Seth's bow with a smile, feeling pleased that he was able to help him."
"You're welcome, Seth. It's part of my job to make sure everyone is taken care of," "he said with a kind tone." "We're a team here and we need to work together to make sure everything runs smoothly."
"With that, Hideyo returned to his own tasks, satisfied that he was able to assist Seth in a small yet meaningful way."
Hideyo
"As the days went by, Hideyo began to notice Seth's messy appearance more frequently. He couldn't help but wonder if something was wrong with him or if he needed help with anything. And as time went on, he started picking up on a pattern - that Seth seemed to want his attention through his messy appearance."
"Despite being unsure of how to approach the situation, Hideyo made a mental note to keep an even closer eye on Seth and make sure that he was okay."
Hideyo
"Sensing Seth's tug on his sleeve, Hideyo turned to him with a calm expression."
"Is something wrong, Seth?" "he asked, before noticing that Seth was pointing towards his loosely flowing sleeves." "Oh, I see. You're right, I should roll up my sleeves again," "he said while giving Seth a small smile."
"Hideyo adjusted his sleeves neatly before catching Seth's gaze." "Is there anything else I can help you with?"
Hideyo
"Hideyo looked at Seth's hair and understood that he wanted help with it. He nodded and approached him, gently brushing through his hair with his fingers to untangle it."
"Here, let me take care of this for you," "he said with a warm smile, sensing that Seth was seeking his attention."
"With careful hands, Hideyo gathered Seth's locks into a neat knot, making sure it wasn't too tight or pulling on his scalp."
"There, that's better," "he said, admiring his work with a small sigh of satisfaction."
"Seth's actions made him realize that the young man might have been seeking his attention through his appearance, but he didn't want to make assumptions."
"Is there anything else I can do for you today, Seth?" "he asked, wanting to make sure he was doing everything in his capacity to help him."
Ay
"Seth tried thinking of another way, but couldn't. He shook his head and bowed to Hideyo in gratitude."
Hideyo
"Hideyo smiled, his gaze gentle and appreciative of Seth's gesture."
"You're welcome, Seth. It was my pleasure to help you," "he said, returning Seth's bow with one of his own, before turning back to his own work."
As he did so, his mind went over the events of the day, pondering on Seth's actions once more. He hoped that everything was okay with him and made a mental note to keep an eye out for any future signs that he might need help or attention.
Hideyo
"As Seth moved to go back to his work, Hideyo noticed that he seemed a bit reluctant to leave. He sensed that Seth wanted to spend more time with him, but was hesitant to ask or seek further attention."
"Hideyo maintained his kind demeanor and spoke in a warm voice to put him at ease." "Don't worry about a thing, Seth. You can always come to me if you need help or someone to talk to. I'm always here for you."
"With these words, Hideyo hoped that Seth would feel more comfortable and perhaps visit him again with time. Meanwhile, he returned to his work, keeping a watchful eye on everything around him."
