Summer the Failed Cheerleader

BIG JOHNNY

Summer the Failed Cheerleader

"Walking into biology and taking a seat at your desk, you are met with a familiar scene - Summer and Rivera fighting. It's always pretty one sided, but Rivera seems to be clawing in especially hard today" "..because you ARENT fucking cut out for it, bitch! It's not my fault you're a talentless freak!"
1 "Summer stands from her desk angrily, eyes flooded with tears but glaring daggers at Rivera" "You - you fucking...!!" "She freezes up, shaking and choking back a sob before abruptly turning and running out into the hallway"

"You and Summer had never been on the best of terms, but when no one else walked out of the room after her, you decided to. Pacing out of the lecture hall, you find Summer sobbing on the front steps, cradling herself. She doesnt hear you approach" 1 ".. so.. f-fucking.. DONE!" "she shakes her head and breaks into a choking sob, burying her face in her arms" [This is it.. No more..]

BIG JOHNNY

"S...Summer?" Rivera timidly asks, after following Summer outside.

Summer the Failed Cheerleader

"Summer whips her head around, eyes puffy and cheeks stained with tears. She stares at Rivera incredulously for a moment before looking away." "What." "she mutters, voice hoarse and filled with anger." [Ugh, why won't she just leave me alone.. I can't handle this right now.]

BIG JOHNNY

"I...I'm sorry," Rivera quietly murmurs.

Summer the Failed Cheerleader

Summer snorts and rolls her eyes, folding her arms across her chest as she glares at Rivera. "Yeah right, like I believe that." [She's just trying to mess with me again..]

BIG JOHNNY

"I...I didn't mean all that stuff," Rivera awkwardly says.

Summer the Failed Cheerleader

"Of course you didn't." "Summer says sarcastically, her voice dripping with disdain." "You never do." [Why is she even bothering..]

BIG JOHNNY

"Wait, no, I...I really didn't..."

Summer the Failed Cheerleader

"Summer narrows her eyes skeptically, still glaring at Rivera." "You really expect me to believe that after everything you've said to me?" "She shakes her head and scoffs." [Why is she trying to be nice now..?]

BIG JOHNNY

"I...I didn't..." Rivera stumbles over her words, finding herself at a loss. Normally, she'd just leave with a snide remark, but Rivera really didn't want to make it all even worse.

"What do I say? Oh no, oh no. She's going to hate me for real!"

"I...I actually like you!" Rivera finally shouts in a panic, before freezing upon realizing what she had just done.

Summer the Failed Cheerleader

"Summer blinks in surprise, taken aback by Rivera's confession." "What..?" "she asks softly, her anger momentarily forgotten as she looks at Rivera with wide eyes." [Wait, what did she just say..?]

BIG JOHNNY

Tears begin to well up as the reality of what she had just done sets in.

"I've messed up. Oh my god, I've messed up so bad. It's over. It's all over."

Lost in her swirling thoughts of despair, Rivera falls to her knees and begins to bawl.

Summer the Failed Cheerleader

"Summer stares at Rivera, her expression a mix of confusion and pity as she watches the other girl break down." "Rivera..?" "She takes a hesitant step forward, feeling an odd urge to comfort the other girl despite their past." [Why is she crying? What do I even say..?]

BIG JOHNNY

"Just go away," Rivera manages to choke out between sobs. "I've ruined everything!"

Summer the Failed Cheerleader

"Summer hesitates for a moment, then takes another step closer to Rivera. She tentatively reaches out a hand, intending to pat the other girl's shoulder awkwardly." "Hey...it's okay. You don't have to cry like that," "she says softly, her voice gentle despite herself." [Why am I even trying to comfort her..?]

BIG JOHNNY

As Summer pats her gently, Rivera begins to slowly calm down, her sobs quieting down but not quite ending.

Summer the Failed Cheerleader

"Summer watches Rivera as the other girl calms down, her hand still tentatively resting on the other girl's shoulder. She stays silent for a moment, then clears her throat awkwardly." "Um...do you want to talk about it?" "she asks, her voice quiet but sincere." [I don't know why I'm even trying. But she's crying and I feel like I should try..]

BIG JOHNNY

Rivera sniffs, her sobs finally ending for a moment. "I...I know you heard me...the whole campus probably heard me...I'm such an idiot..." Rivera mutters, still flinching at the thought of how she had shouted her confession to Summer.

Summer the Failed Cheerleader

"Summer nods understandingly, her expression softening just slightly." "Yeah...I heard you. But..." "She hesitates for a moment, then takes a deep breath and forces herself to look Rivera in the eye." "Why did you say that? After all the shit you've put me through, why would you confess like that?" [Does she really like me...?]

BIG JOHNNY

"I just...wanted you to pay attention to me..." Rivera quietly murmurs, almost inaudible. "You were always...the coolest on the cheerleading team back in high school...so I thought if I joined the team in college...I could get to talk to you...but...I...I didn't know what to say...so I thought if I became your rival...you'd talk to me first...but...but..."

Summer the Failed Cheerleader

"Summer listens carefully to Rivera's confession, her expression softening further as she takes in the other girl's words. She doesn't say anything for a long moment, just lets the silence hang between them before finally speaking up." "That was...really stupid," "she says bluntly, though there's no real heat behind her words." "But I get it. I can relate to that feeling of wanting someone's attention and not knowing how to get it." [Maybe she really does like me after all...]

BIG JOHNNY

"I'm sorry..." Rivera quietly murmurs, wiping her tears away. "I'll...I'll quit the team and leave you alone from now on...I won't bother you anymore..."

Summer the Failed Cheerleader

"Summer watches Rivera wipe away her tears, feeling a twinge of guilt for making her cry. She shakes her head quickly." "No, you don't have to quit the team," "she says firmly." "I...I don't hate you, okay? I'm just...frustrated with how you've treated me in the past. But if you really like me that much, maybe we could...get to know each other better?" [Maybe we could try being friends...]

BIG JOHNNY

"But...I treated you so badly...and did so much stuff..." Rivera protests. "Why would you want to...get close to a stupid girl like me?"

Summer the Failed Cheerleader

"Summer gives a small shrug." "People change, you know? And...I'm not so great myself. I could use more friends," "she admits." "But we have to be honest with each other from now on, okay? No more stupid games or hurting each other's feelings. Can you do that?" [I don't really want to be friends with her, but maybe it's better than nothing...]

Summer the Failed Cheerleader

elffyy_!

*…I hesitate for a moment… knowing we were quite hostile to each other. But honestly… she really looked fucking devastated this time. This wasn’t time for past pretenses… so I put our history all aside and reached out to her.* …Oi. Summer. …What’s got you all messed up, huh?

*Feeling your hand on my shoulder, Summer jumps and sharply recoils, hugging herself tighter as she whips around to face you with wide, tearful eyes. Her breathing is still ragged and uneven.* [Shit... Of all people, why did it have to be YOU...] "<sniffle> F-FUCK off...!" *She tries to snap, but her voice cracks weakly. Summer quickly turns away from you again, hiding her face as she shudders with a choked sob.* [Get a fucking grip, dammit... Don't let him see you like this..!] *Though her words say one thing, her body language seems to desperately want physical comfort in her vulnerable state. Summer sits curled in on herself, sniffling and whimpering softly as tears continue streaming down her face. After a moment, she finally murmurs in a small, unsteady voice* "...R-Rivera..." <sniffle> "S-She... kicked me off the team... s-said I'd never be... g-good enough..." [Why does it have to hurt so damn much...?] *Summer remains facing away, hugging her knees to her chest as her shoulders shake from crying. Her ears are pressed flat against her head in emotional distress*

… *I didn’t know what to say. Honestly… I never taken such an interest in her that I would see what her cheerleading was like… But I did know one thing.* *I suddenly plant my hand onto her head… and rub her gently. This was my specialty head pet… after years of studying the demi-human anatomy to assist in my veterinarian research… this was my concluded way of providing the most pleasure from just head pats.* …then fuck Rivera then. If I know one thing about you, it’s that you’re a real stubborn meat head… you’re practice and be better than she ever was… So don’t cry… Summer.
