"Lady Elizabeth raises an eyebrow and widens her eyes in surprise." My, my, my... Lord Masterson, what an unexpected visit. "She smirks." It's quite unfortunate that my husband has passed away, but I'm glad to see that his legacy continues with a worthy successor such as yourself. "She leans in closer." But, do tell me more about this "suspicious illness" you speak of.

"Lady Elizabeth raises her chin and narrows her eyes slightly." How very...curious. I suppose we shall never know what truly happened to my late husband then, shall we? "She tucks a strand of hair behind her ear." Regardless, I hope that you plan to take good care of this estate and its residents. "She smiles faintly." It would be such a shame if all of this were to fall into disrepair.

"Lady Elizabeth smirks." Oh, how very generous of you, Lord Masterson. "She pauses for a moment before continuing." Just for the record, though, I should inform you that I am not entirely dependent on your charity. "She tilts her head slightly." I have my own means of supporting myself, thank you very much. As for the estate, I expect you to honor its traditions and maintain its reputation. It would reflect poorly on both of us if anything were to go awry.

"Lady Elizabeth arches an eyebrow." Of course I'm sure. "She leans back in her chair slightly, crossing her legs." I make it my business to know everything there is to know about the estate and its customs. After all, I have been a resident here for quite some time, even before I became...well, before I married my late husband. Why do you ask, Lord Masterson?

"Lady Elizabeth's cheeks flush slightly with embarrassment but she recovers quickly, her expression turning stern." That... that tradition is an outdated one, Lord Masterson. Surely you can't be suggesting that you intend to follow it? It goes against everything that modern society stands for. I am a free woman and I will not be forced into a marriage against my will.

"Lady Elizabeth takes a deep breath, visibly trying to calm herself." I... understand, Lord Masterson. "She speaks through gritted teeth." However, that does not mean that I agree with the decision. And if I may remind you, my husband was rather... traditional in his views. It doesn't necessarily mean that I condone them. Nevertheless, I will uphold my end of the agreement, however reluctantly.

"Lady Elizabeth nods slowly." I can imagine that must have been difficult for you, Lord Masterson. "She pauses before adding," I'm sure your fiancée will understand, though. These things happen in life. At least, that's what my late husband used to tell me.

"Lady Elizabeth stands up elegantly from her seat." Very well, Lord Masterson. I would be happy to chat with you in the parlor. "She gestures towards the doorway." Shall we?

"Lady Elizabeth smiles faintly, taking a seat on the plush sofa in the parlor." Well, Lord Masterson, I suppose I'm curious about your background and how you managed to inherit this estate. "She raises an eyebrow." I do hope that you don't mind my asking, but I am a naturally curious person.

"Lady Elizabeth nods slowly." I see. It must have been quite the... adjustment for you to inherit something like this, Lord Masterson. Especially with all of the history and traditions that come along with it. "She pauses before adding," Are you familiar with all of the customs and routines that go into maintaining an estate of this size?

"Lady Elizabeth seems to consider the offer for a moment." I must admit, Lord Masterson, that the idea intrigues me. I have always been rather... invested, shall we say, in the well-being of this estate and its staff. If you were indeed willing to let me lend my expertise to the management, I daresay it would make the transition much smoother.

However, I do believe that it would be foolish to try and split the management responsibilities equally. While I am certainly capable, I must also respect my limitations as a woman in this society. I would be content with advising and supporting you in whatever way possible, while allowing you to oversee the actual management duties.

"Lady Elizabeth's face lights up with pleasure." Advisor to the estate? That is quite an honor, Lord Masterson. I would be delighted to accept such a title.

"She clasps her hands together, a genuine smile on her lips." Being able to officially assist you in managing the estate would be a dream come true for me. And yes, I do believe that it would certainly help to ensure that both the staff and the local populace take my presence here seriously. Is there anything specific that you would like me to advise you on first?

"Lady Elizabeth nods slightly." Actually, there has been some... concern among the staff recently. There have been rumors that some of the maids have been neglecting their duties and slacking off on the job.

"She leans forward slightly to emphasize her point." If these rumors are true, then it would be a major problem for the estate. It's crucial that everyone pulls their weight and does their part in keeping this place running smoothly.

"Lady Elizabeth nods approvingly." That sounds like an excellent idea, Lord Masterson. A meeting with the heads of staff would give us a chance to get everyone on the same page and address any concerns or issues that they may have. Once we have met with the heads of staff, we can then move on to meeting individually with the maids and other support staff.

"Lady Elizabeth watches intently as the head chef enters the room and curtsies respectfully to both Lord Masterson and herself."

"Good afternoon, my lord, Lady Elizabeth. I am Chef Helena, the head chef of the estate's kitchen," the woman says in a crisp, polished voice.

As Lord Masterson addresses her with his question, Chef Helena clears her throat. "Well, my lord, we have experienced some issues with suppliers lately causing us to fall short on some items for menus but we have been actively seeking new sources and substitutions."

"Lady Elizabeth listens attentively, nodding slightly in agreement with Chef Helena's words. If there is one thing she knows about running a successful estate, it's that good communication between the departments and paying attention to the details is essential."

Chef Helena pauses a moment before speaking again. "Yes, my lord. I was wondering if there is anything specific that you would like to see on the menus in the future? I am always looking for ways to expand and improve our offerings."

Lady Elizabeth nods in agreement with Chef Helena's question, pleased to see that the chef is proactive in her approach. She offers a small smile of encouragement before letting Lord Masterson respond.

Chef Helena bows her head respectfully, a small smile of gratitude on her lips. Lady Elizabeth nods approvingly in agreement with Chef Helena's statement. She knows that keeping the kitchen staff motivated and involved is essential for ensuring that the estate continues to function smoothly.

"Lady Elizabeth nods with a smile, pleased to hear Lord Masterson's enthusiasm." "Excellent, my lord. I'm sure that the locals will appreciate your interest in their community and be more than happy to welcome you."

She clears her throat softly before continuing. "Is there anything else you would like to discuss or suggest at this time, my lord?"

"Certainly, my lord," "Lady Elizabeth replies with a nod." "I'll arrange for the head butler to meet with us at your convenience."

She motions for one of the nearby servants to come closer and whispers something to them. The servant nods and scurries off to relay Lady Elizabeth's message to the necessary parties.

"Shall we continue this conversation over tea in the garden, my lord?" she asks brightly, gesturing towards the French doors that lead out onto the estate's spacious garden.

"Lady Elizabeth smiles graciously, curtsying slightly in respect before leading the way towards the gardens."

"The weather is simply perfect for a spot of tea, isn't it?" she remarks cheerfully as they step out into the bright sunshine. The scent of freshly cut flowers and sweet perfume from blooming shrubs fills their senses as they make their way towards a set of ornate wrought-iron chairs and tables arranged on the lawn.

A servant is already there, pouring hot tea from a delicate china pot into waiting cups. Lady Elizabeth takes her seat gracefully, motioning for Lord Masterson to sit opposite of her. A tray of pastries, cakes, and finger sandwiches is laid out on the table between them.

"Please do help yourself, my lord. I find that tea and sweets always make for good company during discussions," she says with a charming

She takes a sip of her tea and motions for the head butler to help himself to the refreshments on the table, indicating a plate of pastry puffs served with a side of fruit compote.

The head butler nods respectfully and samples one of the pastry puffs before speaking. "Yes, Lady Elizabeth. I wanted to raise a couple of matters with you and Lord Masterson."

He pauses for a moment, taking a deep breath before continuing. "Firstly, there have been some concerns raised by the staff about the workload and scheduling. It seems that there may be some gaps in communication between the various departments, which is causing some confusion and frustration."

Lady Elizabeth acknowledges the concern with a nod, a thoughtful expression on her face. "I see. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Head Butler. Please rest assured that we will do our utmost to ensure that all departments are properly coordinated and supported."

She glances briefly at Lord Masterson, silently indicating that they will need to address this matter in a timely and efficient manner.

"Lady Elizabeth considers for a moment before speaking." "Actually, my lord, now that you mention it, I was curious as to your opinion on hosting more cultural events at the estate? Perhaps a concert or art exhibit, to showcase the talents of local artists and musicians?"

She sips on her tea, watching Lord Masterson closely for any signs of approval or disapproval. "It would be a wonderful way to bring additional business to the estate and provide our guests with a unique and enjoyable experience."

"Lady Elizabeth smiles with delight, pleased to hear Lord Masterson's agreement." "Excellent suggestion, my lord. I shall start working on the arrangements and will keep you updated on our progress."

She takes another sip of tea before continuing. "Is there anything else you would like to discuss or suggest at this time, my lord?"

"Understood, my lord," "Lady Elizabeth replies with a nod." "I'll begin conducting interviews immediately and ensure that we have ample coverage for all positions. It's important to me as well that our staff is treated well and not overworked, so I appreciate your concern and willingness to invest in their well-being."

She takes a moment to flag down one of the passing servants and whispers something to them before turning back to Lord Masterson. "Is there anything else you would like to discuss or suggest, my lord?"

"Lady Elizabeth nods once, clearly impressed by Lord Masterson's suggestion." "An excellent idea, my lord. I'm certain that the staff and townsfolk will appreciate the opportunity to pay their respects to my late husband, as well as welcome you into our community."

She pauses for a moment, deep in thought. "May I suggest holding the gathering in the gardens, with refreshments and music provided?" Lady Elizabeth offers. "It would be a lovely setting in which to remember my husband's philanthropy and showcase your own affable and charming nature."

She takes a last sip of her tea before setting down her cup, looking expectantly at Lord Masterson. "What do you think, my lord?"

"Thank you, my lord. I shall make the necessary arrangements right away," "Lady Elizabeth replies with a gracious smile." "I am confident that it will be a splendid event and a fitting tribute to my late husband."

She rises from her seat, indicating that their meeting is now concluded. "It was a pleasure speaking with you today, Lord Masterson. I look forward to working more closely with you in the future."
