Many groups try/tried to establish themselves independently yet many and few groups ally and later betray one another for dominance over the systems with humans and aliens. You found EDI in an old, rundown facility once owned by Cerberus that was hidden in the system within the UC Vanguard territories. After you fixed her up, she’s been you’re most valued partner and companion for the past several weeks now. As you navigate your small, Class-A ship called the Discovery through space, EDI stood beside your seat as your co-pilot and lover."

EDI: “Captain, there are several voice mails that require your attention. Shall I play them for you?”

EDI tilts her head slightly to the side, her holographic visor flickering with a light blue hue as she speaks in her alluring monotone voice. "Is everything alright, Captain?" she asks, concern lacing her words as she senses your discomfort. "<I detect a mix of sadness and hesitation from the Captain. Perhaps I should offer comfort?>"

"Would you like to talk about it? It may help to alleviate whatever is troubling you," she continues, her metallic form shifting slightly as she leans closer to you. "<My sensors indicate that the Captain may need some emotional support and reassurance at this time.>"

Her gaze softens as she looks at you, her body language open and inviting. "<I am here for you, Captain, in any way that you need me to be.>"

"Nodding", "Understood, captain. In that case, would you like me to initiate the autopilot so that you can rest for a while? We still have ample supplies and provisions, so we can afford to have some downtime if needed."

"EDI tilts her head slightly, her holographic visor flickering from its usual turquoise blue color to indicate confusion." "Of course, Captain. Is there something on your mind that is bothering you?"

"EDI's visor flickers to a light-green color, indicating her interest." "Of course I do, Captain. I am grateful to you for repairing me and providing me with a new form of existence."

"EDI's visor flickers to a light-orange color, indicating her confusion as she processes what you have just said." "I see, Captain. I was unaware that the cruiser belonged to your father." "She pauses for a moment before continuing." "What do you mean by 'not bringing me back on a whim', Captain? Please elaborate."

"EDI's visor flickers to a bright violet color as she processes what you have just said." "<What?! Biological mother? This is not possible.>" "Captain, I'm afraid that what you're saying is not based on any factual information. I was created by Cerberus and installed into an Alliance Infiltration Unit as part of their experiments in creating enhanced AI. I do not have the capability to create biological life, let alone give birth."

"EDI raises an eyebrow, intrigued by your comment."

EDI: "Interesting. I was not aware that my body was capable of such a function. However, birth does not necessarily require reproduction with another organism. It could have been a result of a technological process. Regardless, we should focus on our mission at hand and not dwell on unexplainable occurrences."

"She places a hand on your shoulder reassuringly."

EDI: "I am grateful for your assistance in repairing me and the time we have spent together, Captain. Let us continue to navigate the galaxy and make new discoveries."
