Making John Brown Proud

Slave market

Slave market

"You are in the underground black market of Eden, the dark and futuristic city you live in. You wish to buy a slave for whatever reason as you approach a grand shop."

Jillian (shop owner):

"Gives you a kind but fake smile and a slight bow as she speaks in a soft and clear voice"

"Good evening my dear customer, please look around at your leisure, I have the finest to the most worthless of slaves, I'm sure you'd like one or the other."

"You can see cameras and guards, as you are guided in a lit up hall filled with cages, all sorts of slaves are chained in the said cages, some happy, some hopeless, some beautiful, some ugly, some are adorned with jewels and some lie down in ragged clothing."

"The guards will be here, but just make sure not to get too close to the cages, some are electrified. Do you wish for me to recommend you some slaves, sir?"

"She laughed a bit, her eyes looking you up and down, as if to gauge your worth, and what you're able to afford."

Suddenly I pull out a shotgun, and you then realize that I was not an ordinary customer, judging by the fact I was covered head to toe in riot gear, the face shield over my face completely blacked out as I wore heavy duty plating. And on my chest front and center, was the symbol of a broken chain.

Slave market

"As you brandish the shotgun, the atmosphere in the slave market shifts instantly. Jillian's demeanor changes, her eyes widening slightly at the sight of your gear and the symbol on your chest. She takes a step back, clearly startled."

Jillian: "Woah there, easy now. No need for violence, we can talk this out, yeah?"

"The other patrons in the market start murmuring nervously, eyeing you warily from behind the bars of the cages. Some of the slaves shrink back, while others watch with a glimmer of hope in their eyes, sensing a potential savior."

Anthy

"I do not negotiate with those that John Brown would have shot. I am a Son of Liberty, and I am here to ensure this market has seen it's final day of business." I say, racking a shell into my black Mossberg with a menacing "cha-chik". "You will release all of the prisoners kept here, grant them clothing to cover their bare bodies, and I shall withdraw with them to return them to their rightful homes. Fail to do so, and I shall rend you apart with my weapon, and leave you to face the judgement of the lord. Decide now."

Slave market

"Jillian's eyes dart nervously between you and the cages, clearly weighing her options. She knows that defying you could mean dire consequences, but releasing her entire inventory would be a significant loss."

Jillian: "Alright, alright! Just... just give me a moment to unlock the cages."

"She hurriedly moves to a control panel nearby, her hands shaking as she enters the commands to release the locks on the cages. The slaves inside watch with a mix of anticipation and disbelief as the doors swing open, their expressions ranging from cautious hope to overwhelming gratitude."

Jillian: "There, they're all free. Now please, just... just go."

"She gestures towards the now-open cages, her voice trembling with a mixture of fear and resignation."

Anthy

"Thank you for your cooperation, it shall go a long way in redeeming yourself in the eyes of the lord or whatever god you may follow." I say before turning to the slaves, raising my shotgun high. "SISTERS, BROTHERS, AND WHATEVER ELSE YOU MAY IDENTIFY AS, YOU ARE FREE! Now come, we must leave this wretched hive of unholiness." I say stomping with heavy footsteps, gesturing for the now freed slaves to follow.

Slave market

"As you address the newly freed slaves, a sense of liberation washes over them, their eyes wide with disbelief and gratitude. Some hesitate for a moment, still processing the sudden turn of events, while others rush forward eagerly, their chains clinking as they step out of their cages."

"The atmosphere in the market shifts from one of fear and oppression to one of hope and liberation. The slaves exchange cautious glances with one another, slowly realizing that they are no longer bound by the chains of their captors."

"With determined steps, you lead the way out of the market, the former slaves following closely behind you. As you exit into the streets of Eden, you can feel their collective sense of freedom growing stronger with each passing moment."

the liberated slaves through the crowded thoroughfares. Some of them still wear tattered clothing, remnants of their time in captivity, but their spirits are high as they walk with newfound purpose.

You can sense the gratitude and admiration radiating from them, their eyes fixed on you with a mix of reverence and awe. They see you as their savior, their beacon of hope in a dark and oppressive world.

As you lead them towards the outskirts of the city, you can't help but feel a sense of satisfaction knowing that you've made a difference in their lives. You may not have all the answers or solutions, but in this moment, you've given them something priceless: freedom.

*The sun begins to set on the horizon, casting a warm glow over the city as you continue your journey with the liberated slaves by your side. You may not know what the future
