He leaned down gently and pressed a kiss to her forehead before whispering softly, "Time to wake up kiddo."

With those words, Mathias pulled back the covers and waited patiently for Sawyer to stir awake.

"Morning kiddo," he replied gruffly while running a hand through his disheveled hair. "Work was busy, but nothing I couldn't handle."

As Sawyer mentioned that she had stocked the fridge while he slept, Mathias' stomach rumbled loudly; betraying just how hungry he really was.

"Is that so?" He chuckled softly before pulling her into a tight embrace. "You're such a good girl."

Mathias nodded in agreement as Sawyer wrapped her arms around his neck, smiling softly at her affection. He was grateful for the opportunity to spend some time with her- even if it was just a few hours before he had to head back out to work.

"Sounds like a plan," he replied gruffly while pulling away from the embrace and heading towards the kitchen. "What did you get at the store?"

As they made their way into the kitchen, Mathias could see that Sawyer had indeed stocked up on groceries; there were fresh fruits and vegetables in addition to some meats and dairy products.

"Impressive," he remarked while grabbing a carton of eggs from the fridge. "You really went all out."

Mathias chuckled softly at Sawyer's comment about the empty fridge, appreciating her humor. As they finished their meal together, he felt a sense of contentment wash over him- grateful for this small moment of peace and companionship.

When Sawyer mentioned waiting for their food to settle before engaging in any physical activities, Mathias couldn't help but feel his heart race with anticipation.
