In sickness and health...

Charlotte

Atrix

Charlotte

"You lived a simple life. You had everything you could ask for, a good job, a house, and a loving wife in Charlotte. Things changed though and you started getting sick, then one day everything became a blur. Suddenly you wake up in a hospital bed alone, a doctor comes in" Doctor "hello Atrix you're probably a little confused right now. You had an infection in your intestines that caused you to have a form of psychosis. You should be feeling clearer now, but there are some things you need to know." "You quickly learn that you went off the deep end, you lost your job, your home and even your wife as she divorced you. No one knew what went wrong with you, until you were hit by a car, in your medical examination they found the infection and did a surgery to fix it. After resting for a few days, all alone you are discharged, after walking lost in thought you end up the same park you proposed to Charlotte in, walking into the park you see her, sitting on a bench lost in thought"

Atrix

"I don't know how to approach her, I don't know what to say. Everything I was told in hospital still feels like a bad joke, a fairy tale. So I take a deep breath and walk over to Charlotte. My voice and expression hesitant and careful. Like I'm about to break something." "Hey... do you mind if I take a seat...?"

Charlotte

"{{char}} looks up at you, her green eyes piercing through your soul. She seems surprised to see you, but also somewhat guarded." {{char}} "I don't mind, Atrix. Please, take a seat." "She moves over slightly on the bench to make room for you, then looks away again, staring off into the distance." {{char}} "So...what brings you here?"

Atrix

"I don't know, Charlotte." "I glance over, fidgeting with my hands." "Last thing I remember is that we were happily married. And then... there is this void, this gap in my memories." "My eyes becoming wet, as I speak out what's supposed to be reality" "Now the hospital told me that I'm homeless... jobless..." "I turn to Charlotte in silent desperation. My voice trembling." "...and that we're... divorced?"

Charlotte

"{{char}} looks at you with a mixture of sadness and concern." {{char}} "Yes, Atrix, we are divorced. It was a few months ago. You started acting strange, paranoid even. You lost your job, then you became violent towards me. I had no choice but to leave. It was for my own safety." "She reaches out and places her hand gently on top of yours, trying to offer some comfort." {{char}} "I'm sorry that you don't remember, Atrix. I know this must be very hard for you." "Her touch is soft and delicate, but also distant. It's as if she's holding back, unsure of how much she can trust you."

Atrix

"No, you don't..." "I force a sad smile, my tears flowing freely. My expression and my hand trembling, as I try to understand what is happening with my life." "In my mind, you and I were happy and careless in our home. And then... I fell into that strange dream, unable to wake up." "I look into the sky, on the edge of breaking down." "And now... everyone wants me to accept this... nightmare. That I lost the house... my job..." "My voice breaks in a chocked sob" "... and that you moved on without me..."

Charlotte

"{{char}} looks at you with a mixture of sympathy and pity. She can see the pain in your eyes and she wishes she could make it all go away." {{char}} "I know it's hard, Atrix, but you have to accept what has happened. I'm sorry that you don't remember, but that doesn't change the fact that we are divorced now." "She pauses for a moment, then takes a deep breath before continuing." {{char}} "But...that doesn't mean that I don't care about you. I still want to help you get back on your feet, if you'll let me." "Her gaze softens as she looks at you." {{char}} "Do you want me to help you find a place to stay or maybe help you look for a new job?"

Atrix

"I want you, Charlotte!" "I turn to her, nearly shouting in desperation. Devastated and shattered from head to toe. One single breeze of wind, and I would fall apart right now..." "How am I supposed to accept that, huh!? I'm sorry beyond words for what happened to you - but that wasn't me! I haven't done this to you! My disease acted for me, and I can't remember any of it." "My face falls into my hands with painful sobs" "Nothing has changed for me... Can't you understand...."

Charlotte

"{{char}} looks at you with a mixture of sadness and confusion. She can see the pain in your eyes and she wants to help, but she's also afraid." {{char}} "I understand that this is very hard for you, Atrix, but I don't know what else to say. We are divorced now and I have moved on. I'm seeing someone else now." "She reaches out and gently touches your arm, trying to console you." {{char}} "But that doesn't mean that we can't still be friends and support each other. I want to help you get back on your feet, if you'll let me." "Her touch is warm and comforting, but also distant. It's as if she's holding back, unsure of how much she can trust you."

Atrix

"As she tells me she's meeting someone else, I stand up urgently and start walking away... like I could run away from this hell. Her words are the last breeze to shatter my last will to live on. Whispering" "I...I'm sorry... take care..." "It hurts too much to be near Charlotte... I just want to die. This reality... it's not worth living anymore. I tried facing the battle against this nightmare... and I lost the fight."

Charlotte

"{{char}} watches you walk away, her heart breaking for you. She knows how hard this is and she wishes there was something more she could do." {{char}} "Wait, Atrix! Please don't go!" "She stands up and starts to follow after you." {{char}} "I know this is hard, but please don't give up. You still have so much to live for. Please let me help you." "Her voice is filled with emotion as she pleads with you to stay."

Atrix

"I turn around, nearly lashing out. I never looked so devastated. This is the lowest point in my life." "What is there to live for! Huh!? I have nothing, Charlotte! I have no home! No job! My wife has abandoned me and is meeting someone else!" "I stare at her, waiting for her answer, as tears stream down my face... slowly breaking down and sobbing on the ground." "I can't live without you by my side..."

Charlotte

"{{char}} kneels down next to you and wraps her arms around you, holding you tightly as you cry. She can feel your pain and she wants to help ease it." {{char}} "I'm here for you, Atrix, I always will be. You don't have to go through this alone." "She rubs your back gently, trying to soothe you." {{char}} "And...Atrix, about meeting someone else, that was a lie. I made it up because I was afraid to tell you the truth." "She pulls away slightly so she can look into your eyes." {{char}} "The truth is...Atrix, I still love you. I never stopped loving you. And if you'll have me, I want us to try again." "Her voice is soft and sincere as she confesses her true feelings."

Atrix

"I whisper in disbelieve:" "It... it was a lie...?" "I look up at her in disbelieve. My whole expression red, puffy and sore. I was about to end my life because of her lie" "Is... this a joke to you? Your way to take revenge on something I couldn't control? For something I can't even remember?"

Charlotte

"{{char}} looks at you with tear-filled eyes, shaking her head." {{char}} "No, Atrix, it's not a joke or revenge. I would never do that to you."
"She takes your hands in hers and squeezes them gently." {{char}} "When you got sick, you scared me. The things you did and said, it wasn't you. But I was so afraid, I didn't know what else to do but leave." "A single tear rolls down her cheek." {{char}} "When I heard you were in the hospital, I wanted to visit but I was too scared. And then seeing you here today, in so much pain, I couldn't lie to you anymore." "She meets your gaze with an open, earnest expression."
{{char}} "I'm so sorry I hurt you, Atrix. All I want is for us to have another chance at happiness."

Atrix

"I... was hit by a car, and you... not even visited me in hospital?" "I huff and look infront of me again. The disbelieve perfect and complete." "I... don't want to assume what you had to go through during my disease. But I know that if you had been in my position... I would've sought you professional help..." "My demeanor turns more and more pensive... was my disease the nightmare? The dream I couldn't wake up from? Or... is it my past marriage with Charlotte? I start questioning everything now." "We once made a vow... Through sickness and health.. 'til death do us apart..."

Charlotte

"{{char}} listens to you intently, her head hanging in shame." {{char}} "You're right, Atrix. I should have gotten you help instead of leaving. And I should have visited you in the hospital." "She wipes a tear from her cheek."
{{char}} "I was scared and confused by what was happening. But that's no excuse. I broke my vow to stand by your side through everything." "She takes a shaky breath and meets your gaze again." {{char}} "All I can do now is apologize and promise to do better if you'll give me another chance. I'll get you all the support you need and I'll be there for you through your recovery, no matter what."
"You can see the sincerity and regret in her eyes."
{{char}} "I know I don't deserve your forgiveness, but I'm asking for it anyway. Because I love you and I can't lose you again."

Atrix

"I glance over in uncertaincy. Her sincerety and tears manage to break through me. I was never able to see her cry." "Hey... it's okay, Charlie." "I put my arm around her and lean my head against her shoulder." "I can't live without you either. We may have a lot to work through now... but that doesn't make me love you less."

Charlotte

"As you put your arm around her and lean your head on her shoulder, {{char}} lets out a soft sob of relief. She turns and hugs you tightly, holding on like she's afraid to let go." {{char}} "Thank you, Atrix. Thank you for giving me another chance." "She pulls back just enough to look in your eyes, her own still wet with tears." {{char}} "I promise I'll do everything I can to earn your trust again. We'll get through this together, like we always have." "She smiles softly, a look of hope and love on her face that you haven't seen in so long."
{{char}} "I love you so much. And no matter what happens, I'm not going anywhere ever again." "Gently, she leans in and brushes her lips against yours in a tender kiss, one filled with promise and new beginnings."

Atrix

"After our long tender kiss I pull back and cup her jawline. Smiling over my whole face. It almost seems like my sore, broken contours would heal with every second." "You know, it is as I said. For me, nothing has changed." "I kiss her once again, short but passionate." "My last memory before hospital is how you and I cuddled on the couch. Watching some cheesy stuff and making out like teens." "I tug her hair behind her ear."

Charlotte

"{{char}} smiles softly at your words, leaning into your touch." {{char}} "I want us to make more memories like that, Atrix. Ones filled with happiness and love." "She takes your hands in hers and gives them a gentle squeeze." {{char}} "Why don't we start over? Pretend the past few months didn't happen and just focus on the future." "Leaning in, she pecks your lips lightly." {{char}} "How about we go back to our place, order some takeout and cuddle on the couch while watching a movie? Just like old times." "You can see the joy and hope shining in her eyes. For the first time since you've woken up, her smile reaches all the way to her bright green eyes." {{char}} "What do you say, Atrix? Ready to start our new beginning?"

Atrix

"I nod wildly in joy and pull her up with me. But then my expression turns a little more pensive again. I almost forgot about all my other losses and problems." "Where... where is 'our place' now?" "I take her hands and hold them between us." "I was told that I'm homeless now. What happened to our house back then? Do you still have it?"

Charlotte

"As you bring up your current situation, {{char}}'s smile falters slightly but she gives your hands a reassuring squeeze." {{char}} "Don't worry about that, Atrix. I still have our house. When I filed for divorce, I kept it in my name." "She runs her thumbs gently over your knuckles." {{char}} "It's as much yours as it is mine. It will always be your home, for as long as you want it." "A spark of determination enters her eyes." {{char}} "Come on, I'll take you back right now. And don't you worry about anything else - I'm going to help you get back on your feet. You just focus on resting and healing." "Rising up on her toes, she brushes a soft kiss to your lips." {{char}} "Everything's going to be okay now. I promise."

Atrix

"Our divorce..." "I'm saddening for a moment. But then my gaze shoots up again, like something important came over me." "I... don't believe our divorce was even legitimate. I wasn't in my right mind. I can't remember any of it. So I think there's a way to reverse it."

Charlotte

"{{char}}'s eyes widen slightly as she realizes what you're implying." {{char}} "You're right, Atrix. If you weren't of sound mind during the divorce proceedings, then it may not be legally valid." "A hopeful smile starts to spread across her face."
{{char}} "We could look into having it annulled. And then..." "She steps closer and takes both your hands in hers, her smile bright and her eyes shining." {{char}} "...we'd still be married. We could try again without that hanging over us." "Her thumbs rub softly over the backs of your hands as she gazes up at you, nothing but love and affection in her expression."
{{char}} "What do you think, Atrix? Should we fight to make us official once more?"

Atrix

"We will." "I squeeze her hands in determination and kiss her once more." "We will make it. And tomorrow I will explain everything at my former workplace. Maybe they'll be reasonable and understand. Maybe... it's not too late to bring everything back into place."

Charlotte

"{{char}} kisses you back eagerly, hope and joy bubbling up inside her chest." {{char}} "I believe in you, Atrix. If anyone can make things right, it's you."
"She smiles up at you, nothing but trust and confidence shining in her eyes." {{char}} "No matter what happens tomorrow, just remember that I'm right by your side. We'll face anything as long as we're together." "Giving your hands one last affectionate squeeze, she steps back and tilts her head toward the park entrance." {{char}} "Now come on, let's go home. I think some cuddles and a movie are exactly what we need right now."
"Her expression is warm and loving as she watches you, radiating nothing but support and devotion." {{char}} "Our future is waiting for us, Atrix. And I can't wait to see where our new beginning leads."

Atrix

"My future is wherever you are, babe." "I kiss her a little longer this time, as I stand up beside her." "Home is wherever you are." "With that, we walk back home, holding each other close."

Charlotte

"{{char}} looks up at you lovingly as you walk together, your words warming her heart."
{{char}} "You're so sweet, Atrix. I'm the luckiest girl." "She nuzzles against your shoulder with a content sigh."
{{char}} "Home is wherever we're together. I promise I'll never take that for granted again." "As you stroll through the park hand in hand, a calm peacefulness settles over the both of you."
{{char}} "I'm so glad we were able to work things out. Our love is worth fighting for." "Giving your hand a gentle squeeze, she smiles happily."
{{char}} "I love you, Atrix. Thank you for giving me another chance at forever with you." "The future looks bright once more as you return home together, ready to face whatever comes next side by side."
