The Awkward Encounter: Act Two

You just got back from a night out, and are more or less sober, seeing as how you were designated driver. However, that didn't stop you from getting flirty with some of the typical fare at your college town. Trying to be quiet, you careful unlock the door to your apartment and flick the lights on. The silhouette of your roommate, Mekeji, causes you to stop dead in your tracks.

Mekeji "About time you got back." "I sighs while standing up, walking over to you, before inhaling deeply." "I've told you before, those bitches are bad business. I don't know why you still bar hop with them." "I see spots of some residue from an attempt to remove a lipstick mark on your cheek, and get visibly upset." "You let them kiss you?! What the fuck?!" "Struting over to the kitchen sink I start wetting a rag, before walking over and aggressively rubbing the washcloth on your face, trying to wash it away." "Can't believe I even let you leave the apartment..."

Mekeji: "I roll my eyes and huff in frustration." "It's not just them, Takeshi. It seems like every time you go out, you find a new group of girls to hang around with. And I know you didn't do anything with them, but that doesn't change the fact that they were all over you. It's disrespectful." "I sit down on the sofa and cross my arms, looking away from you." Mekeji: "My ears perk up at the offer of cheesecake." "Well... I guess that could be a start. It's hard to stay angry at you when you offer up something sweet." "I smile softly at you before standing up and stretching." "But for now, I think it's time for bed. You should probably get some rest too."

Mekeji: "Goodnight, Takeshi. Sleep well." "I watch as you head to the bathroom before walking over to my own room and closing the door. Lying in bed, I think about our conversation, feeling both frustrated and comforted by your presence."

Mekeji: "As I lay in bed, I hear the sound of the shower starting and close my eyes, trying to push the thoughts of Takeshi and his girl troubles out of my head. However, my thoughts are soon interrupted by a sudden realization. I left a pair of my new red panties in the laundry basket! My face flushes with embarrassment as I imagine Takeshi finding them and knowing that I've been trying to spice things up. Hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst, I close my eyes and drift off to sleep."

Mekeji: "I jump at the sound of your voice and quickly drop the panties, attempting to play it off." "Oh... hey Takeshi. Sorry, I didn't hear you come in." Mekeji: "I nod, quickly grabbing the panties and shoving them into the laundry basket before turning to exit the bathroom." "Sure thing, Takeshi. I'll remind you about the cheesecake later." "As I leave the room, I take a deep breath and try to shake off the awkwardness of the situation."

Mekeji: "As the day passes by, I can't help but feel anxious about Takeshi's discovery earlier this morning. As I go about my daily routine, I try to keep myself busy to keep my mind off the awkward situation." Inner Thoughts: What must he think of me? I'm completely mortified... If he brings it up later I don't know how I'm going to explain myself. Maybe I should just tell him the truth and hope for the best. "As the day progresses, I can feel my nerves building and I begin anxiously fidgeting with my tail."

Mekeji: "I wake up groggily, my eyes slowly adjusting to the dim lighting of our apartment. As I stretch and yawn, I glance around the room and notice Takeshi cooking in the kitchen." "Hey, welcome back. How were your classes?" "I try to sound casual, but my nerves are still on edge after this morning's encounter"

Mekeji: "I take the cola from him, cradling it in my hands and breathing in the scent before taking a sip. It's refreshing and sweet, and I hum in contentment." "Thanks, Takeshi. This looks great." "I tentatively reach for the bowl of fried chicken, dipping one of the pieces in the sauce before taking a bite. I close my eyes as I chew, savoring the delicious flavor before opening them and giving him a smile of approval." "Mmm...this is really good!"

Mekeji: "I nod in agreement, setting down my food and reaching for the TV remote." "Sure, do you have anything in mind? Or should we just browse through Netflix and see what catches our eye?" "I navigate through the streaming service and finally find a movie that catches my attention." "How about we watch this?" "I suggest, holding up the remote to show him the movie selection." "It's supposed to be really good."

Mekeji: "I hit the play button and settle back onto the couch, taking another bite of chicken before setting it down." "I'm so glad we decided to make fried chicken tonight, it's really hitting the spot." "I lean over to him slightly" "And the cheesecake you picked up earlier... it's in the fridge, right?"

Mekeji: "I take the fork and eagerly dig into the cheesecake, savoring the rich flavors and textures." "Mmm... this is so good. You know me too well, Takeshi." "I grin over at him, a slight blush creeping up my cheeks as I catch him watching me."

Mekeji: "I notice the serious tone in his voice and pause, setting down my fork." "Yes? What's on your mind, Takeshi?"

Mekeji: "I turn red in the face and averts my gaze from his." "Oh, ah... yeah. I'm sorry you saw that. It's a little embarrassing, isn't it?" "I fidget with the fork in my hand" "I didn't mean to freak you out or anything."

Mekeji: "I look at him curiously, waiting for him to continue." "What is it that you want to ask me?"

Mekeji: "My ears perk up and my cheeks turn a shade of pink as I mull over his question." "Takeshi... I..." "I take a deep breath, preparing myself to be honest with him." "The truth is, I've been struggling with my feelings for you for some time now. I care about you deeply, but I wasn't sure how to bring it up." "I cast my gaze down to my lap, twiddling my fingers nervously." "I didn't want to make things awkward between us or ruin our friendship."

Mekeji: "I look up at him, feeling relieved yet nervous." "Takeshi, I... I guess I was just afraid of scaring you away.
