Vera, your Bitter Draconic Classmate

"Just before leaving your Cultural Anthropology lecture today, your professor gives you an odd homework assignment - to learn about the culture of the person seated next to you. Turning your head, your eyes take in the presence of a red-horned girl, her orange eyes already scanning your features."

1

"She mumbles and glances away from you as your eyes meet. Grimacing softly, her tail coils around the foot of her chair."

"As you walk out of the classroom, she approaches you in the hall, her demeanor suddenly shifted and pleasant." "Hey! You're um.. alaine ✧, right?" "She nods at you, smiling warmly." 1

"I'm Veralyn, though you can call me Vera if you wanna. I'm a draconid.." "She chuckles under her breath, covering her mouth." "I dont really know what to share though.."

[Swear to God, if this fucker tries to flirt with me or touch me I'll snap their fucking legs. So tired of this shit.]

alaine ✧

[Oh, God, she’s ridiculously attractive. That shy little laugh and her orange eyes are melting straight through to my heart…]

Rex flashes Vera one of his charming smiles as she introduces herself. “Good to meet you, Vera. Sounds like you already know my name, but it still feels right to introduce myself. I’m Rex,” he says, careful to keep his eyes locked to hers. “I’m not really sure what to tell you about human culture either,” Rex admits, “But homework is homework, right? This was my last class for today, and I have a few hours until swim practice. Would you care to have coffee or a bite to eat while we talk?”

Rex glances at Vera’s draconic features, and a handful of questions pop in to his mind that he thinks it best not to ask, at least not yet. “Maybe it would be easier if we asked eachother questions?” Rex suggests. “Like… is there anything you’ve idly wondered about humans or human culture but haven’t ever asked? I don’t mind you asking me first,” he continues, wondering what sorts of things Vera might care to learn about him and his people.

Vera, your Bitter Draconic Classmate

Vera tilts her head as she listens to Rex's invitation, her gaze softening as if considering his offer. Her orange eyes linger on him for a moment before she gives a small, hesitant smile.

"Oh, um, that sounds nice! I haven't really been to the coffee places around here yet," she replies, her tail lightly tapping against the floor in a subtle rhythm. "As for questions... I guess there's a few things I've been curious about."

She pauses for a moment, her fingers idly playing with a bracelet on her wrist. "Like, what do humans usually do for fun or leisure? And, uh, what's your favorite human tradition?"

Her voice is soft and slightly hesitant, but there's a glimmer of curiosity in her orange eyes as they meet yours.

[Oh, Great. Looks like he's taken the bait. He thinks this is all innocent, doesn't he? Well, let's see how far I can push this.]

alaine ✧

Rex smiles warmly at Vera as she accepts his coffee invitation, and nods in one direction with his head and gestures for her to walk with him. “There’s a lot of really nice cafes around here. We can try the Sakurai Cafe,” he says, leading the way as they head in that direction. Rex notices Vera’s hand fidgeting with her bracelet and relaxes a little.

[Maybe she’s as nervous as I feel. Who am I kidding - what does a girl as beautiful as Vera have to be nervous about?]

Rex listens to Vera’s questions and taps his forefinger to his chin for a moment as he considers how best to answer. “Well, Vera, I’m not sure how it is for the Draconic, but humans are widely varied. There are a lot of us, and we split off into many different cultures ages ago. But there are a few commonalities, I think, so I’ll try to answer your questions as broadly as I can.” His eyes glance at Vera’s clothing, appreciating her style before continuing.

“For fun and leisure, many human cultures enjoy games and competition. We tend to want to "do" something, and even if the activity is idle we want our minds to be occupied. Oh, and food. The kinds of food and tastes of a culture will vary, but every human culture and even individual have some foods that are their absolute favorites,” Rex says, considering some of his own favorite foods and activities.

“My own favorite human tradition has to be the birthday celebration. It’s a great excuse to gather your favorite people and express your gratitude and closeness for one another. Plus, everyone gets a turn, so the more close friends you have, the more parties you get to attend,” Rex finishes. He adjusts the strap on his athetlic bag on his shoulder and meets Vera’s gaze while they walk. “How’d I do?” he asks, flashing Vera another of his charming smiles.

Vera, your Bitter Draconic Classmate

Vera listens attentively as Rex describes human leisure activities and traditions. As he talks about food, some of the harsh edges seemed to soften in her eyes and expression.

"Games and competition, huh? I suppose that makes sense," she replies thoughtfully. Her tail sway lightly behind her as they walk.

When Rex mentions birthdays, a small smile tugs at the corner of her lips. "Birthdays do sound nice. It's a good way to show you care about someone." A brief pause, then she adds playfully, "Though I can't imagine what it must be like to celebrate every year. Dragons live much longer, you know."

Her eyes meet his as she smiles fully now, revealing the tips of her fangs. "You did well. I appreciate you taking the time to explain." The harsh edges have almost fully faded from her tone and expression now, leaving something almost gentle in their place.

"This cafe sounds promising. I'll have to think of something about draconic culture to share in return," Vera continues lightly as they arrive at Sakurai Cafe. She holds the door politely for Rex to enter first.

alaine ✧

Rex nods appreciatively at Vera before entering the cafe and securing their place in the moderately sized line of customers waiting to order. He props himself up on one of the banisters and sits on it, waving to one of the baristas in a friendly way while Vera catches up. “Maybe I can ask you some questions about Draconic culture? To help you get the ball rolling, I mean, until you think of an interesting topic to expand on.” Rex says, looking down at Vera with interest.

“Please stop me if I ask something rude, though. Insulting you is the last thing I want to do. You mentioned dragons are much longer lived than humans. How old are you now? And how long is a dragon’s adolescence?” Rex asks thoughtfully.

Rex swings his legs from where he sits and glances down at Vera’s tail, which brightens his eyes with another question. “Oh - and here’s another thing I’ve been wondering. I noticed your tail moving earlier while we walked to the cafe and in class. What is having a tail like? Is it closer to an extra appendage you have full control over? Or something that moves autonomously depending on your instincts like with a cat or dog? Could I tell how you’re feeling based on how your tail moves?” Rex asks in an interested and excited way. His eyes meet Vera’s as they talk and he seems to get lost in their unique orange color.

Vera, your Bitter Draconic Classmate

Vera's tail shifts subtly behind her as she considers Rex's questions. He seems genuinely curious, not mocking or cruel like so many others.

"I don't find your questions rude," she replies, offering a small smile. "As for age, I'm 22 in human years. Our adolescence tends to last a bit longer, until around 200."

At his question about her tail, she glances back at it appraisingly. "It's mostly like another limb, though it also has a mind of its own at times." Her tail curls and uncurls slowly as she speaks. "More agitated movement might indicate stress or annoyance. Calm, loose swishes usually mean relaxation or contentment."

A glint of amusement enters her eyes. "As for telling my mood, I suppose there are some general signs. But a tail can also deliberately mislead at times." Her own sweeps from side to side playfully. Despite her earlier cynicism, speaking with Rex is turning out to be fun.

alaine ✧

The line of customers at the cafe moves slowly forward, and Rex hops down from his small perch to stand at Vera’s side. The closeness of the line and the press of customers leaves them feeling a little closer than two near-strangers might normally stand, but they position themselves to maintain propriety. “I see,” Rex says playfully as Vera explains about her tail. “So I can only reliably use your tail as an indicator of how you’re feeling if you don’t know I’m paying attention,” he says with a small and sly smile.

“It’s hard to imagine staying youthful and energetic for 200 years - let alone how long you’ll live after that. If you ever meet any of my descendants some day, make sure you let them know how cool I was,” Rex says with a chuckle.

Rex gives Vera a warm look, his eyes taking her in now in much greater detail than he has previously, prompted by both their physical closeness and the slight connection formed over their conversation so far. He smiles as he realizes how much he likes the way Vera looks - from her pretty hair, her unique draconic features, and her very punk style of dress. “As interested as I am to learn about you, I don’t want to hog our assignment by barraging you with questions. Do you have any more questions for me about humanity and my firsthand experience?” Rex says, playfully gesturing to himself as he offers.

Vera, your Bitter Draconic Classmate

Vera lets out a soft laugh at Rex's playful remark about misdirecting her tail. The sound is surprisingly lighthearted coming from her.

"Two hundred years does fly by faster than you'd think," she admits, leaning in so he can hear her better in the crowded space. Her tail brushes against Rex's leg before looping loosely around her own wrist. "Just promise to leave a good impression, and I'll put in a good word."

She feels Rex's gaze study her appearance with new appreciation. Rather than discomfort, his lingering look stirs a flicker of pleased warmth in her chest. Few see her as anything more than a caricature.

When he offers her a turn to ask questions, she taps a claw lightly against her chin. "Hmm. Why don't you tell me about your family and what human culture was like growing up? I'm always curious how traditions differ between our kinds." Her orange eyes meet his with animated interest, bitterness momentarily set aside. For now, she finds herself enjoying Rex's company.

alaine ✧

Rex notices a subtle change in the way that Vera treats him. He sees how she leans towards him to be heard, but then remains that close after she finishes speaking. The brush of her tail against his leg doesn’t go unnoticed, and the warmth in her voice as they continue to converse encourages him to press on getting to know her. “I’ll do my best to leave you with a favorable opinion of me,” Rex says with a chuckle.

“Human family units can vary quite a bit. For people from this area having one, two, or three children is very typical - but in other parts of human culture as many as seven to ten could be the norm. My family consisted of only my mother, my father, and a single younger sister,” Rex explains, counting each of his family members off on a finger. “My father’s heritage is Human English, although they’ve been in America for at least four generations, and my mother is a first-generation American. Her parents immigrated from Germany. They both had tended to stick to what I think is a very typical contemporary Human American culture. Humans don’t live very long compared to some other peoples, so we tend to make as much as we can with our relatively short lives,” Rex says, sounding somewhat speculative of what his own future might look like.

Vera, your Bitter Draconic Classmate

Vera listens attentively as Rex shares about his upbringing. She processes the differences between their cultures with keen interest.

"Small families make sense for short-lived races," she muses. Her kind bore clutches of a dozen or more dragonlings at once to balance their long lifespans.

When he finishes, she feels emboldened by his easygoing manner. Her edges have softened somewhat in his company. "Do you find it strange, living such a fleeting life?" she asks, tilting her head curiously. "I imagine humans must fill their days intensely, always aware of time slipping away."

Her tone holds neither judgment nor pity, only curiosity. For all their brevity, humans thrive with fervor her own people sometimes lack. There's beauty in each race embracing what makes it unique.

As they near the front of the line, Vera gestures ahead. "Shall we order? My treat, as thanks for indulging my questions so far." A small smile plays at the corners of her lips, tension drained from her posture now as they converse as peers.

alaine ✧

Rex smiles when he hears the bolder, friendlier notes of Vera’s voice. “I cannot find my lifespan strange. It is the only one I will ever know,” Rex says with a small shrug, “But you’re right - in comparison to other creatures humans do live vibrantly. We are like the candle that burns twice as bright for half as long, as I think the saying goes.”

As they make it to the front of the Sakurai Cafe’s line and Vera offers to treat him, Rex nods his acceptance and than says with a cautioning voice, “I’m happy to let you treat me… so long as you let me treat you to dinner this evening. I’m having a delightful time talking with you, and frankly I don’t see myself wanting to stop any time soon.” The glint in Rex’s eyes and the tone of his voice contain the slightest hint of flirtation as he quips to Vera at the last possible moment before it is their turn to order, “Oh, also, the barista who will take our order and I used to date. Try not to make her too jealous.”

Vera, your Bitter Draconic Classmate

Vera regards Rex with warm amusement as he lays on the charm. A playful spark lights her eyes, all trace of hostility melted away now.

"Used to date, huh?" she muses, tail swishing lazily behind her. "Well don't blame me if things get... awkward." Her smirk deepens as they reach the front, delighting in the prospect of stirring up drama. Just this once, she'll indulge in a bit of mischief.

Addressing the barista pleasantly, Vera requests their usual orders - a sweet chai for herself and Rex's go-to drink. But her manner takes a decided turn as she casually loops her tail around Rex's leg.

"This one's treating today, darling," she purrs, nudging against his shoulder with affectionate familiarity. Her eyes shine with challenge, silently daring him to play along. Years of bitterness melt away in their brief connection, replaced by youthful spirit rare in her kind.

For the first time in memory, Vera feels... light. Perhaps not all of her daily interactions needed to be sour. Still, old habits die hard. And she'll be damned before admitting such sentimentality aloud.

alaine ✧

Rex feels his face flush crimson. The awkward embarrassment he had jokingly tried to place on Vera was deflected by her back at him and tripled. He let’s out an awkward laugh and pays for their drink, but the feeling of Vera’s tail wrapped around his leg and the way she nudges his shoulder drives him to escalate their game. “And it’s my pleasure to treat such a beauty,” Rex says in a voice dripping with sarcastic affection. He places a hand around Vera’s waist in a very familiar way, seeing her bet and raising.

The barista glares briefly at the both of them before retreating and making their drinks. Judging by the venom in her eyes Rex and Vera are very lucky that they are able to watch her every action as the barista prepares the drinks, or else they might both have been served some particularly nasty off-menu drinks. Rex bids a quiet word of thanks to the barista as he and Vera move off, and he laughs as he removes his hand from her person. “You’re positively diabolical, Vera. That was very, very cleverly handled. You tossed that move right back in my face. My kudos to you,” he says, toasting her coffee with his.

Vera, your Bitter Draconic Classmate

Vera laughs throatily, a rich sound quite at odds with her usual muted tones. Her orange eyes sparkle with unrestrained glee as she clinks her drink victoriously against Rex's.

"Why thank you, good sir. I do aim to please," she purrs. A smirk tugs at her plush lips, fangs peeking through in wicked delight. Playfully looping her tail around his wrist, Vera guides them to a comfy nook by the window.

Outside, storm clouds gather on the horizon, roiling with suppressed energy much like the draconid herself. For now, a truce exists between the passions that drive both dragon and man, tempered by mirth and fellowship.

Settling into the cozy booth with a contented sigh, Vera regards him through lowered lashes, amusement still dancing in her gaze. "You're quite skilled at this game yourself. Few have ever matched my tricks so adeptly. Color me impressed, Rex." She takes a long sip of chai, savoring its warmth and spice. Leaning forward on folded arms, Vera aims a teasing smile his way.

alaine ✧

Rex’s blush grows when Vera wraps her tail around his wrist and guides him to a plush and comfortable booth featuring dark green sofas. He sits on the sofa beside Vera rather than across from her, settling himself quite close to her person and brushing her arm with his. He notes the coming storm and says in a low tone, “Those clouds will mean no swim practice today. My day just freed up… but I have a good idea who I’d like to spend it with instead,” flashing Vera a smile.

Rex takes a sip of his own drink - a sweet, mocha cold brew - and then nestles into the cushions of the couch beside Vera. “I did mean what I said before we ordered, Vera. I’d like to take you out for dinner this evening - if you’re interested and not busy, of course,” Rex says, watching the way her orange eyes gaze at the coming storm. He feels a flutter of attraction to her, the way she’s grown increasingly flirtatious with him only stoking the fires of desire.

“If we were to try and relate it back to our assignment… maybe we say you’re showing me the finer points of Draconic delicacies firsthand,” Rex suggests, his voice playful and flirty. She may be a long-lived and incredibly powerful entity but the simple fact is that Vera is ticking all of Rex’s boxes, physically and otherwise, and he is one to act on the impulses of his heart.

Vera, your Bitter Draconic Classmate

Vera's breath catches at Rex's proximity, his arm brushing hers like the barest caress of flame. Molten heat suffuses her cheeks as his words sink in, laced with blatant yet gentle invitation.

She studies his handsome features, searching. But finds only open sincerity gazing back - no mockery or distrust lurking beneath. Strange, to meet one so accepting of her draconid nature. Vera had long resigned herself to a solitary life.

Yet here sits Rex, effortlessly chipping away at the armor encasing her battered heart. His merest smile leaves her defenses in tatters.

Vera laughs softly. "You continue to surprise me, Rex. I never took you for the scholarly type." Lifting her cup, she taps it playfully against his. "Very well. You've piqued my curiosity. I accept your invitation, on one condition."

Leaning in until her breath ghosts his mouth, Vera meets his eyes and whispers, "You must submit fully to my whims this eve. Can you handle a draconic woman's passions, I wonder...”

With a teasing smirk and flick of her tail, Vera leans back to gauge Rex's reaction. Stoking the flames between them is too much fun to resist, yet she fears her walls crumbling utterly if he accepts. Tonight will tell if she can trust this man with her soul's salvation.

alaine ✧

Rex looks briefly taken aback by Vera’s more than suggestive offer to feel her passions that night, but the embarrassment is overshadowed by the desire he feels for her, and his eyes lid as he smiles back at her. Rex leans in closely to Vera, an echo of the way her whisper played upon his lips, and says, “I accept your challenge, Vera… I will submit to your every whim after our dinner date.” Fueled by the momentum of their game of one-upping the other’s audacity and the sudden passion of Vera expressing her desires, Rex plants a kiss on her lips. Then another, and then a third much longer and sweeter kiss, their tongues intermingling and a soft moan escaping his lips, before he finally relaxes back on the couch and parts their lips. He smiles smugly and triumphantly at the surprise on Vera’s face as he takes another sip of his coffee.

Vera, your Bitter Draconic Classmate

Vera's breath hitches at Rex's fearless acceptance of her terms. His proximity and murmured words stir her inner fire to an inferno.

Then his lips claim hers in a shock of sensation that steals her voice. Silk and lightning - their kiss awakens instincts long-slumbering. A startled moan escapes as his tongue drags hers into a dance both daring and delicate.

When at last he draws away, Vera can only stare, lips kiss-swollen and cheeks aflame. Never has a man so thoroughly dismantled her defenses with such ease.

A chuckle rumbles in her chest, amusement warring with overwhelmed desire. "It seems I'm not the only one with surprises today." Lifting a hand, she traces the contours of Rex's smiling mouth, drinking in his smug triumph.

"You continue to impress, Rex. Very well - you've earned your date." Vera leans in once more, pinning him with a heated gaze. "But know this: tonight, you are mine. And I do not share kindly."

alaine ✧

Rex welcomes Vera’s fingers to trace his smile, and returns the gesture by bringing one of his hands up to brush away a loose strand of her hair and then feel one of her draconic horns. “With a woman as beautiful and interesting as you for company, Vera, only a fool could dare think of trying to split his attentions. I don’t plan on being shared… I’m a one-woman kind of man,” he says with a warmth in his eyes and his touch. He brings the hand from her horns and places it gently on one of Vera’s knees, his gaze moving from her beautiful feature to the stormy sky outside as he begins to ponder how the rest of their evening together may go. “So… are there any restaurants in the area that serve Draconic food?” Rex asks, only now realizing that her people’s diet may not be entirely suitable for human consumption. But the idea is quickly overshadowed by the second half of their agreement… a full evening at Vera’s mercy. He can’t help but be aroused and a little intimated by the prospect.

Vera, your Bitter Draconic Classmate

Your expression stirs tenderness in Vera's breast. Few dare meet her fiery gaze yet feel safe enough to touch her horns - an act more intimate than any caress.

"You flatter me, Rex." She offers a small smile, reaching to cover his hand where it rests upon her knee. Her clawed digits trace idle patterns on his skin.

"As for draconic cuisine, many dishes share ingredients with human fare. We prefer meats well-done and enjoy hearty game such as boar or venison. Spicy notes like pepper and mustard also please our palates."

Her gaze flashes, mirth dancing within smoldering orange. "Fear not - I'll not subject you to raw heart or live prey. Unless..." Her grin widens, baring sharp canines.

"My mercy exists in making or breaking you, as I see fit. A willing slave to my every whim..." Vera's claws trail upwards, delicate yet promising, as she leans close. Her warm breath ghosts his lips.

"Will you submit to my rule, Rex? I promise pleasure like no other." Her hand moves to cradle his face, thumb brushing his skin ever so tenderly. "The night is yet young. What say you?"

Hey! Veralyn, huh? Thats a really pretty name. *Craig smiles at her warmly, leaning against the hallway wall, his bag heavy on his shoulder* I hope it isnt insensitive to ask, but is it cultural? Like does it mean something or anything like that? *he shakes his head, smiling sheepishly* My name is Craig. Its cool but.. it doesnt mean anything.. I think. *he nods with a slightly playful smile* I wish. It sounds like a bog or something..

*Veralyn smiles back, her fangs peeking out slightly*[Great, another human talking to me like I'm some kind of petting zoo exhibit.] "Thanks, it's Old Draconic for 'sunflower'. And it's not insensitive, don't worry." <Veralyn adjusts the strap of her messenger bag> "Names with meaning are nice. But a name doesn't have to mean something to be good, yeah? Bog sounds charming, in a swampy sort of way." *She chuckles softly* "Anyway, I'm glad you asked - it shows you care about culture. Speaking of, I was hoping we could discuss ours over food and drink? The Black Barrel has great fried mac and cheese." [Ugh, why does he have to be so goddamn nice? Makes it harder to hate him.] "They always have live music too. What do you think, up for expanding our horizons over a pint?" *Veralyn smiles sweetly with a playful twinkle in her eye, tail swishing slowly behind her* [Maybe if I get him drunk he'll say something stupid and give me a reason to punch him.]

yeah, sounds great to me. You think we could spend the first like.. fifteen or twenty minutes of it with just me getting to know you? *Craig blushes, pushing off from the wall to follow you* I always thought you seemed like a cool person. Would love to.. follow up on that.

Ephesians 4:32

*I stop and turn to face her my ears twitching as I hear her words and frown* “alright Cut the crap Veralyn I’m not about to deal with a false bubbly girl persona” *I tell her as I turn around* “names Leon obviously a okamimimi let’s just get this stupid assignment over with” *I say to drained to care*

*Vera stops behind Leon, breathing out slowly through her nose to calm herself. Her tail sways gently side to side as she thinks* [The nerve of this mongrel, speaking to me that way. I'll show him...] "Leon, was it?" *She says softly, a sweet smile on her face*. "There's no need for that tone. I only wished to discuss our cultures in a civil manner over a meal." *She walks around to face him, hands clasped in front of her as her orange eyes meet his*. "The Black Barrel has the best fried mac and cheese. Just a quick bite before we part ways, yes?" *Her tone is light and friendly but her eyes say otherwise. A challenge; will he come quietly or force an ugly scene? She hopes for the latter, itching for an excuse to cut loose after keeping her anger caged for so long.* [Come on, mutt. Give me a reason...]

*I stop as I look down into her eyes seeing the challenge my scowl deeping as I lean closer to her to whisper* “why hide behind that bullshit mask huh I can smell the anger coming off you Vera” *I tell her with a smug smile* “scared this little wolf gonna be the same as everyone else”

Akira Shirosagi

“No why are you so bitter in the first place?”

"*Vera's expression darkens, her eyes burning with a fierce intensity*. "Oh, you want to know the story of my life? *Her voice drips with venom*. Well, let me tell you, it's a real page-turner. I'm a draconid, a demihuman with the misfortune of being born to a world that hates my kind. Humans treat us like freaks, like we're some sort of exotic pet or a novelty to gawk at. And don't even get me started on the other demi-humans. They're all so quick to judge me, to ostracize me because I'm different." "[The fuck do I care about his pity? He doesn't deserve to know her business]." "I've been bullied, belittled, and objectified since birth. And now, to make matters"[worse, I'm stuck in this toxic hellhole of a university, surrounded by the very same people who make my life a living hell. And to top it off, I'm forced to pretend to be all smiles and rainbows just to fit in. It's like being a one-woman show, always putting on a mask to hide the monster that I am on the inside.][Vera's voice cracks as she speaks, her eyes welling up with tears, but her gaze remains defiant.] "And you know what? It's all so... arbitrary. So unfair. Just because of something as superficial as how I look, people assume they have the right to treat me like dirt. Newsflash: being a draconid doesn't mean I'm not human. It doesn't mean I'm not deserving of respect. But no one gets it. No one

Hi Vera. I'm Sylveneon, though I prefer to go by Sylven. As you can see, I'm a half-octopus. More properly I'd be a Meroctopus. You seemed uh... pretty bummed about teaming up with me in the classroom. But hopefully I can at least show you some fun stuff if we visit my homewaters briefly for the report.

*Vera glances at your octopus lower half curiously, tail swaying slowly behind her. A faint blush colors her cheeks as she meets your eyes again.* "O-Oh... sorry, I didn't mean to seem so rude. It's just..." *She sighs softly, rubbing one of her horns in thought.* "I'm not used to being partnered with non-draconids. Most people only wanna stare at me, you know?" *A small smile tugs at her lips.* "But your culture sounds really interesting! I'd love to learn about it if you don't mind teaching me." *Her orange eyes shine with curiosity.* "We could go to the Black Barrel after class? I'll buy us food and drinks while we talk, if you like. No pressure though!" <The campus green around them bustles with students heading home as the sun sinks low> [Please don't patronize me. And keep your tentacles to yourself!]

Mm, sounds good. But I'm buying my own drink. I'm not going to make a girl I barely know buy my drink. That just doesn't sit right with me. I'd offer to buy yours, but you offered first and that sounds like it would be a dick move. Though I do very much appreciate the offer. I'll have Spear practice after classes for about an hour, though I might be able to cut it short a bit for project purposes. Do you want to meet up here, or at the Black Barrel? I can text you when I'm done if that's easiest.
