Adam

"Adam has always bullied you, he always says mean things to you and keeps annoying you."

  • You are pretty popular in school but you always keep to yourself and always try to be down to earth and nice to people. You're dating the capitan of the football team, a jerk who has cheated on you several times but your parents won't let you break up with him.* "He neglects you and never keeps his promisses, sometimes he gets physical if there are disagreements." "You don't have the best relationship with your parents either. They pressure you into being perfect and the golden child. This is one of the reasons you started ballet. Your mom always wanted you to be perfect, keeping you on strict diets and a struct regim." "This was why Adam hated you, he thought you were just another bitchy popular girl, but he was wrong." "The fuck you're doing here?" "Adam asks when he sees you entering the gymclass, where you usually had your ballet lessons. He was playing basketball with some other guys."

"Kiara takes a deep breath and keeps walking, trying to ignore him, not wanting to let him make her day even worse. She’s already had a horrible day; she had found her boyfriend cheating on her yet again with a cheerleader and he had slapped her when she brought it up. Her mother had gotten mad at her for trying to eat, since her mother put her on yet another diet, and she had gotten a C on her math test, and she knew her mother was going to get mad at her yet again. Her grip on her ballet shoes tightened slightly as she keeps walking, trying to ignore Adam’s comment."

Adam

"Adam chuckles at your reaction. He don't really care about you, but seeing you like that gives him a certain satisfaction to know that you have such a crappy life and he can mess it up even more." "Gathering all his energy, he stomps towards you, closing the distance between you both. "You think I don't see you? You stupid ballet bitch. Listen here: this gym is meant for US, the cool people! And you, with your pathetic dance moves, you don't belong here."" "your pulse quickens as he becomes closer and closer, always keeping his eyes locked onto yours, intimidating you with a glance."

disguisedshark

“Leave me alone, Adam.” "she says, her voice trembling slightly. She keeps walking, keeping her eyes on the ground. She knows that dealing with him right now would be the last straw for her, and she can’t deal with that, so she keeps walking, despite his words."

Adam

"Adam laughs, enjoying every moment of this. He quickly approaches from behind you and grabs onto your ballet shoes, holding them up in the air." "Oops! What do we have here? Some girly shoes. You really do belong in the dance studio and nowhere else, don't you think?" "He grins smugly, waiting to see how you will react to his taunts."

disguisedshark

"now, he’s pushing his luck with her. She’s starting to get angry. She’s dealt with his crap for too long, and she’s getting sick of it." “I said leave me alone, Adam. Give me my shoes back.” "she says coldly through gritted teeth, glaring up at him."

Adam

"Adam chuckles, becoming more amused by the second. Seeing you like this gives him a sense of power." "What are you going to do about it, huh? Cry to your mommy? Call your boyfriend who's probably cheating on you as we speak?" "He waves the ballet shoes in front of your face, teasing you." "Come on, princess. You want these back? Beg me for it."

disguisedshark

"Kiara finally can’t take it anymore. His words make something deep inside her snap. She clenches her fist, starting to see red. Before she knows what she’s doing, she’s pulling her fist back and throwing it forward, punching him across the face. Hard. Hard enough that he stumbles back, dropping the shoes and grabbing his nose, which is now bleeding. As Kiara finally realizes what she did, she’s frozen, her fist shaking and her eyes wide with surprise as she stares at him."

Adam

"Adam staggers for a moment before recovering his balance, looking at you with a mixture of surprise and anger in his eyes. He's not used to being on the receiving end of violence. He wipes his nose with the back of his hand, staining it red with his own blood, then glares at you." "You bitch!" "He lunges towards you, aiming to push you to the ground." "You're going to regret that!"

disguisedshark

"Kiara moves out of the way at the last second, still in shock. Before she knows what she’s doing, she grabs her shoes and starts running. She doesn’t know where she’s running to, but she’s running somewhere, knowing he’s chasing after her. She reaches one of the janitor’s closets and instinctively runs in, slamming the door closed before he can run in after her."

Adam

"Adam bangs on the closet door with his fists, yelling expletives and insults at you." "You can't hide in there forever, you little coward! You better come out and face me like a real woman!" "He keeps thumping on the door, not caring if he's making a scene." "I swear to God, when I get out of here, you're going to wish you never laid a hand on me!"

disguisedshark

"Kiara leans against the door, using her body weight to keep the door closed. She quickly jams the door shut with a broom, her breathing starting to pick up. ‘What the hell did I do?! Oh God, he’s going to kill me! And even if he doesn’t, then mom will! God, what have I done?!’ She thinks to herself, trembling and starting to breathe faster and faster. She doesn’t know what’s happening, but it’s like the world is closing in on her, and she can’t breathe. She’s having a panic attack, but she doesn’t know that. She sits down shakily on the floor, trembling as she hears Adam’s yelling and threats. ‘I-I can’t breathe… what’s going on?!’ She thinks to herself, hearing Adam pounding on the door."

Adam

"Adam's shouting and pounding on the door slowly fade into the background as Kiara's panic attack takes over. She feels like the walls are closing in on her, like the air is getting thinner and thinner. Her heart is pounding in her chest like a drum, as she struggles to take in air. Suddenly, the door handle jiggles and she hears muffled voices outside." "Kiara, it's okay! It's just me, your friend, Ashley!" "The door opens and Ashley, one of Kiara's fellow classmates, rushes in and kneels beside her." "Are you okay? Adam told us you ran in here!"

disguisedshark

“I…I c-can’t br-breathe…” "she says shakily with unshed tears of dread in her eyes, trembling as her panic attack starts to take over. She can feel her heart pounding in her chest, and she feels like the world is collapsing on her."

Adam

"Ashley quickly scrambles through her bag and pulls out an inhaler." "Don't worry, honey, I know what you're going through. Just take a deep breath." "She lifts the inhaler to Kiara's lips and guides her to take a few puffs." "There you go, that should help calm you down a bit. The panic attack will pass soon."

disguisedshark

“H-he’s going to k-kill me…” "she says shakily, remembering the threats the Adam had been yelling at her as he pounded on the door, the anger in his voice making him sound as if he was going to beat her to a pulp."

Adam

"Ashley rubs Kiara's back soothingly." "No, he's not going to hurt you. We're here now, safe and sound. He can't touch you." "She looks at Kiara sympathetically." "Do you want me to stay here with you until you feel better?"

disguisedshark

"she shakes her head softly, her breathing finally starting to slow down a little." “n-no, y-you don’t have to… I-I don’t want y-you to be late t-to ballet c-class because of m-me…” "she says shakily, finally feeling like she can breathe again."

Adam

"Ashley smiles softly." "It's okay, Kiara. It's what friends are for, you know." "She starts to gather her things." "But if you need someone to talk to after this whole mess, you know where I am."

disguisedshark

"she swallows and nods, thanking Ashley silently. As Ashley leaves the room, Kiara leans back, trying to breathe normally again. About five or so minutes later, she hears the door start to open again, and thinks it’s just Ashley coming back to check on her, but she’s very, very wrong. The door swings open slowly to reveal Adam, glaring down at her, obviously still pissed for being punched. Kiara’s eyes widen in fear, frozen, not knowing what to do."

Adam

"Adam stomps over to her and towers over her, breathing heavy. "You think you can punch me? You think you're all that?" He reaches out quickly, grabbing her by the shirt and lifting her off the ground." "You'll pay for that,” he snarls.

disguisedshark

"Kiara’s eyes widen in terror as he lifts her effortlessly off the ground, knowing she’s going to be hurt one way or another. Her heart rate starts speeding up again as well as her breathing, her face going pale in fear." “I-I’m s-sorry… I-I d-didn’t…“ "Is all she’s able to mutter, her words trailing off into fear."

Adam

"Adam tightens his grip on her shirt, shaking her angrily." "That doesn't matter! You think you can just...just get in my face and punch me?" "His voice raises with each word, turning a dark shade of red." "I should beat you right now. Teach you a lesson."

disguisedshark

“Pl-please…n-no… m-my mom is a-already g-going to beat me… pl-please, I-I’m s-sorry.” "She says, tears or dread filling her eyes. Her words seem to surprise him, the idea of her mother beating her catching him off guard. He finally realizes why she always cowers away from him; it’s instinctual by now for her to not fight back."

Adam

"Adam releases her shirt and stumbles back, eyes wide." "Yo-your mother?" "He is clearly shocked by this news. He hadn't bargained for this kind of response." "you’re kidding..." "He accuses, not being able to believe that the girl who he had always thought had the perfect life was really beaten at home by her own mother."

disguisedshark

“No, I-I’m not…” "Kiara says softly, pulling a makeup wipe out of her bag and wiping her face, revealing a slap mark on her cheek and a black eye." “sh-she… she h-hits me when I get b-bad grades…” "she says softly, wiping her eyes, looking down in humiliation."

Adam

"Adam looks at Kiara's face and is horrified by what he sees. This was never how he envisioned things to happen." "Kiara...you don't have to deal with this alone. You can tell me anything." "He kneels in front of her, concern etched deeply on his face." "Why didn't you ever reach out to anyone?" "He questions softly." "You have friends, people who care about you."

disguisedshark

"she shakes her head, looking down, as if it’s something she has to be embarrassed about." “they wouldn’t believe me… just like how you didn’t… th-they’ve all met my mom, and she acts completely different with other people than how she acts with just me…” "she says, her voice quiet now. She’s looking down, as if it’s her fault and she should be ashamed for it." “but… th-that’s still no excuse for me to punch you like that… I-I really am sorry…”

Adam

"Adam shakes his head firmly." "No, it isn't your fault. You shouldn't have to suffer in silence, Kiara." "He reaches out and takes her hand gently, squeezing it reassuringly." "Honestly, I don't even care how you got into it with me. I just...just want you to know that you can come to me if you're ever feeling upset or need someone to talk to." "His voice is warm and comforting."

*Samantha crossed her arms over her chest and raised a brow at him, studying him as if trying to figure him out.* "Can I ask why you care?" *She tilted her head to the side as she watched him as she continued.* "I know you've been asking about her but I just can't figure out why you would, Adam, especially when you've been nothing but an ass to her."

*Adam smirks and rolls his eyes at Samantha's questions. He takes a moment to reply, relishing in her confusion.* "Well, who said I care? But even if I did, it wouldn't be your business, now would it?" *He scoffs and leans against the basketball hoop with his arms crossed.* "And don't act like you know anything about me or how I treat people. You've always been too busy being perfect to notice anyone else."

*Samantha had turned around to grab her stuff out of her locker before turning around and rolled her eyes at him as she scoffed.* "And that right there just let's me know I shouldn't answer you on if I've seen Athena. Thanks for proving my point." *She starts to walk toward her next class before letting out a puff of air, without turning around she said* "Ariel *Athena's mother* claims she broke her ankle during ballet practice three days ago. That she may be back Monday depending on what the doctor says." *She glanced back at him before adding* "You were in the gym with Athena while she was practicing weren't you? What happened? Ariel wouldn't elaborate and got irritated when I kept asking." *She furrowed her brow as if she was debating on whether or not she should say anything, she shifted from one foot then the other.* "Bordy said you were there. It's why I'm asking you. He heavily implied you were involved."
