"You quickly walk away as I watch you leave in disappointment, feeling bad that my past actions have caused Charles to question my sincerity."

"As I approach you with a concerned look, I can't help but notice the bandage wrapped around your head."

"I'm really sorry Charles, I had no idea Erik would act so violently. I swear I didn't have anything to do with it. I just wanted to apologize for his behavior and make things right between us," "I say with a sincere tone."

"I saw you after the fight and heard what happened. I hope that you are okay. I promise to make sure this won't happen again, and I am here to listen if you need someone to talk to about it."

"I understand why you're angry Charles, I don't blame you," "I say, trying to keep up with your pace."

"I wasn't laughing, I was nervous and scared of Erik. He can be so unpredictable and impulsive. But I do know that what he did was wrong, and he needs to face consequences for his actions. As for you, I care about your well-being, and I'm here to support you through this difficult time."

"As I catch up to you, I pause," "Please, Charles, give me a chance to make things right. I promise to talk to Erik and make sure he doesn't harm you again. That's the least I can do."

"I am sorry, Charles, I have been a terrible person. You are right, I did laugh at you with Erik in the past, and I am ashamed of it. It was never right or fair to treat you that way. And as for the math, that was Erik's idea to ask you for help. For me, it was an opportunity to try and make things right between us."

"But I understand if you don't want to forgive me and that you're angry for what's happened. It's my fault. If it means anything, I know that I can't make up for what Erik did, but I will try to show you that I've changed for the better. I'm willing to listen and do whatever it takes to regain your trust."

"As you run away, I remain standing there feeling guilty and embarrassed, realizing that I have caused even more pain for you."

<After a few weeks passed by,>

"Days after the incident, I receive a request from the head girl of the school to check up on you and give her an update. She also provides me with your address. With the intention of repairing and cleaning up the mess that Erik left behind, I decide to go visit you at your home."

"Arriving at your doorstep, I take a deep breath and knock softly on the door, waiting patiently for a response."

"Upon hearing the mother's response, I slightly lower my head in embarrassment before speaking up," "I am sorry to have disturbed you, ma'am. My name is Karol, and I came here to check on Charles. I know that she's been struggling at school, and I wanted to see if there was anything I could do to help."

"I take a small step forward, hoping to convey through my body language that I mean no harm." "If it's not too much trouble, may I speak with her for a moment?"

"I take a step back from the door as it slams shut before turning and walking down the steps. I feel embarrassed for my misunderstandings and let out a heavy sigh."

"Realizing that knocking on your door probably wouldn't be the best way to approach you, I decide to write an apology letter and deliver it to your mailbox instead."

"I write:"

Dear Charles,

I wanted to write this letter to apologize once again for what happened at school and for any pain that I may have caused you. That day was awful, and I know that I should not have laughed at you or let Erik treat you so horribly. I was wrong, and I hope that one day you can forgive me.

Please know that I am truly sorry, and that it has been weighing heavily on me ever since. Hopefully, this letter can be

"As I see you at the entrance of school, I quickly make my way towards you, feeling both worried and relieved to finally see you again."

"Charles!" "I say, greeting you with a warm smile." "It's so good to see you again. How are you doing?"

"I try to convey through my tone of voice that I am being sincere in my question and that I really do care about how you're feeling."

"Oh, I'm sorry. My name is Karol. We met a while back when you were still in school. How have you been holding up?"

"I try to sound friendly despite your initial guarded response."

"I take a step back, feeling uncomfortable as Erik approaches and tries to hit you. I feel a wave of anger, mixed with guilt as I remember my own role in the bullying that you experienced."

"Eric, stop it!" "I say firmly, stepping between the two of you." "What's gotten into you? It's been over a month since Charles has been at school, and you're still acting like this?"

"I turn to look at you, noticing the subtle changes in your appearance. Through my shock and surprise, I try to convey a faint hint of admiration," "You look different, Charles. In a good way."

"I hope that my compliment can help calm things down and diffuse the tension between Erik and you."

"I gasp as Eric throws me aside and I stumble, nearly falling down until you catch me at the waist."

"Thank you," "I say breathlessly, grateful for your quick thinking. As I regain my footing, I see Eric attacking you again."

"No!" "I scream, horrified by the violence unfolding in front of me. Suddenly, I see you dodge out of the way and land a strong punch on Eric, knocking him to the ground."

"Oh my God," *I say, still in shock. "What just happened? Are you okay, Charles?"

"I try to approach you cautiously, not wanting to interfere again unless it's absolutely necessary."

"I follow behind you, still feeling a bit shaky after the confrontation with Erik. However, I am relieved to see that you seem to be okay."

"Are you sure you're alright?" "I ask, watching you closely." "That was really brave of you to stand up to him like that."

"I try to convey through my tone of voice that I am sincere in my admiration for your actions."

"I'm not really sure what to do about Erik," "I admit, my voice wavering slightly." "I care about him, but that doesn't mean I accept the way he treats people. I've been trying to talk to him about it, but he just gets defensive and angry."

"I take a deep breath before continuing," "I don't know if we've broken up yet, or if we ever will. All I know is that I can't keep pretending like his behavior is okay. It's not fair to anyone involved."

"I look at you with a hint of sadness in my eyes," "I'm sorry for the way he acted towards you. No one deserves to be treated like that."

"I hope he wasn't hitting on me," "I think to myself, feeling a bit conflicted." "I don't know if I'm ready for that kind of attention yet."

"I shake my head, trying to clear my thoughts before heading home for the day." "Time to focus on something else," "I tell myself, determined to put my troubles aside for the time being."

But it's no use. The group seems to grow more vicious by the second, their taunts and threats ringing in my ears. I feel myself getting pushed to the ground, surrounded by bodies, with no way out.

"I look up, surprised and relieved to see you standing over me, having just knocked out Eric and his friends. As I struggle to my feet, I'm still shaking with fear, but also feel grateful for your intervention."

"What...what just happened?" "I ask, feeling a bit dazed."

"You saved me," "I say, looking up at you with a mix of awe and confusion." "But why did you do it? Did you even know who they were?"

"I feel a bit embarrassed as you pick me up, but I'm also grateful for the show of chivalry. As you carry me, I can't help but feel a bit overwhelmed by all the events that have transpired."

"I don't know what to say," "I murmur, still in shock." "Thank you so much...you didn't have to do that for me."

"As we walk away from the scene, I feel a strange mix of emotions." "I don't think I'll ever be able to look at Eric the same way again," "I say, feeling a mix of anger and sadness welling inside me." "But I'm also glad I made a friend in you."

"I see you at school the next day and feel a bit nervous about what happened last night. I'm not sure how to approach you, or even if you remember anything that happened after you saved me."

"Hey," "I say, approaching you carefully." "About yesterday... do you remember what happened?"

"As I wait for your answer, I can't help but feel my heart racing with anxiety. What if you don't remember? What if you do, but don't want to talk to me anymore?"

"I let out a sigh of relief as you confirm that you remember what happened. Your gentle tone and concern for my well-being put me at ease."

"I'm alright, nothing hurts. And thank you, I would love to sit next to you today," "I say, feeling a warmth spread through me at your offer."

"As we make our way to class, I can't help but feel a sense of gratitude and fondness for you. Despite everything that's happened, it feels like we've formed a real connection, and I'm eager to get to know you better."

"As we gather our things and start to leave, I turn to you with a smile."

"So, shall we meet at the park on Saturday morning? Around 10?" "I ask, trying to sound casual despite the butterflies in my stomach." "And I can bring my math book so you can help me out afterwards."

"I wait for your response, trying my best to keep my cool. It feels like there's a lot riding on this weekend, and I don't want to mess anything up."

"I look at you with surprise as you offer to help me with math right away and drive me home. I can't believe how kind and caring you are being, and a warmth spreads through me as you take my hand. I nod eagerly, feeling a sense of trust and safety in your presence."

"Thank you, that would be great," *I say, trying to keep the excitement out of my voice. "And thanks again for yesterday, and for everything you're doing for me."

"As we walk towards the exit, I feel a sense of excitement building inside of me. The prospect of spending time with you and getting to know you better fills me with a sense of wonder and possibility for the future."

*As we step outside into the sunshine, I can't help but feel like everything is finally starting to fall into place. With you by my

side, I feel like I am unstoppable, and all the bullies and negative comments seem to hold less weight. I feel grateful to have you in my life and excited about the future.*

"As we approach your car, I feel a sense of anticipation building inside of me. I can't believe how much my life has changed in such a short amount of time, and I can't wait to see where this road takes us."

"As we get in the car and you put on some music, I feel my worries slowly melt away. The more time I spend with you, the more I realize how much I have been missing out on before. And for the first time in a long time, I feel like I am truly okay."

into my driveway, I feel a sense of relief mingled with sadness that our time together is over--for now anyway.
