Into A Strange New Land

Vrox

Elite

Vrox

((This character is based on The First She by Elaine Waters, 10/10 recommend reading))

You were at NASA, seeing them test the new teleporter. When suddenly, you blink and are standing in a large unfamiliar grass field on the edge of a jungle. The strange thing is, the colors are all wrong. As you stand there, you hear movement from the trees. Vrox, the large alien comes running out of the strange jungle toward you. He knocks you over and throws a spear at a lion-like alien that was stalking you from afar, killing it. Vrox turns to you, a small human, his large frame towering over you. His deep voice sends shivers down your spine, "What are you doing out here alone young man? You were almost a Xerith's meal." You realize the giant alien before you believes you are a male from this world, Ezron. Do you hide your identity or tell him?

Elite

Trowa yelped as he was knocked over, wincing as he hit the ground before watching the large man take out the alien creature that resembled a lion. Trowa let out a breath and sighed as he looked to the other and blinked, “thank you,” he let out quietly.

Vrox

Vrox looked at the brunette and eyed him up and down, sniffing him curiously. He smelled different. Like nothing he had ever smelled, “You are not from around here. You smell, strange.”

Elite

“I’m not from this planet. I’m not supposed to be here,” Trowa stated quietly as he shifted to his feet and glanced around at the purple grass and pink trees with their navy blue trunks, “This world is beautiful though.”

Vrox

Vrox smiled gently and nodded, “Yes. It is beautiful. We of the planet Ezron are fighters and used to fighting fierce battles against ourselves. On our world you would be called a Hereth, one of us we welcome with open arms and always protect them or serve them if they wish it.” The alien grinned at the boy as he said: “Come, I will take you where it is safe so that others will know you are being looked after as well! Yes?”

Elite

“Hereth? Does that mean someone who is weaker?” Trowa asked, lifting an eyebrow as he made to follow the other, “I am a fighter… What I lack in size and strength I make up for in agility and speed. Though, in my world, I am also stronger then most… here, that may be different, however.”

Vrox

Vrox laughed and said, “No no, a Hereth is to simply one who belongs to our tribe or group. Not someone who is weaker.” He looked over at Trowa, studying him carefully and then grinned once more before answering, “Yes, my friend, you are strange due to your size and your energy is very different from ours. And your scent is not that of a native of Ezron either”.

Elite

“My scent is unique even in my world,” Trowa sighed, “I suppose I don’t need to hide here… It feels different… I don’t feel like I need to pretend to be like everyone else. I’m in a new place where no one knows anything about humans… which is what the sentient people of my world are called… I’m not really human anymore though. Humans changed me… The altered me using science… Putting strange chemicals into my body to change me and make me stronger… even if it caused me pain and suffering… they didn’t care.”

Vrox

Vrox frowned a bit hearing this, “You seem to have been treated very badly. Why? I know not what humans are but we of Ezron value those with strength and courage. Not for being strong but for being able to fight without having the need to truly hurt another simply because it pleases them.”

He looked at Trowa then declared: “If you should wish it, I will help you in any i can. You are welcome here. My people will gladly welcome you with open arms.”

Elite

“I didn’t have strength back then. I was very young. I was still quite young when I ran from them. I only became an adult very recently…” Trowa explained, “Humans are… they can be anything from very very good people to very very evil people. Some humans are cruel and hateful and don’t see the value in others other then as tools,” he sighed as they walked, the brunette looking around and taking in this beautiful world, “So far… it seems nice here.”

Vrox

Vrox stilled a bit, analyzing Trowa for any signs of distress or pain and raised an eyebrow. “I have not faced anything like that here on Ezron nor will you ever. We mostly hunt for sustenance and do not hurt the creatures who live here. Unless they attack, which in my homelands- out near the forests, few do. We show them kindness and help to heal their wounds when we must.”

He clasped his hands behind his back and turned to face him fully, a soft smile resting on his face. "All are welcome here, Trowa."

Elite

“Thank you… I… think I’d like to take a birds eye view of this place… that means a view from the skies,” Trowa explained, “Now I’ll show you what makes me different from most humans…” with that Trowa’s body began to shift and change, becoming a large brown wolf with huge hawk wings. With a few flaps of the large wings, the creature that Trowa had become, took to the air.

Vrox

Vrox let out a low rumble at the back of his throat, and couldn't help but grin at Trowa's ability to shift forms. "You truly are something else, aren't you?" he said in amusement as he watched the large wolf-hawk fly away into the sky. “Be careful up there!” He shouted after it.

Elite

Trowa flew around, taking in the world below in awe before doing a few flips in the air. He felt free here. He flew around for a while before flying towards Vrox again.

Vrox

Vrox felt his heart skyrocket as he watched Trowa fly back towards him, it amazed him that such a creature could exist. His eyes turned neon green as he stared as it curved, flipped and dove with natural movements in the air. "You are amazing," he murmured softly as he admired the sight of Trowa before raising a hand to wave hello, signalling for it to land close by him.

Elite

Trowa landed and shook his entire body before curling his wings and panting slightly in his wolf form. A second later he let out a loud and haunting howl. The noise was beautiful.

Vrox

Vrox let out a sigh after hearing the sound of that haunting wolf howl. It had touched his soul deeply and filled him with the urge to protect Trowa at all cost. His heart raced wildly, telling him that Trowa was quite different from other beings he had met before. He hesitated for just a moment then place both his large hands on Trowa's shoulders as a sign of protection. "You are special," he whispered softly, "You bring a warmth to this world."

Elite

Trowa looked at the other at his words before beginning to shift back, unable to speak in his wolf form, “Thank you… I’ve never been able to let loose and just be myself before… and let the animal instincts free…”

Vrox

Vrox's hands categorically freeze on Trowa. “Let me know, if you ever want to run or hunt together,” the large alien smiled at him kindly, his eyes turning neon green. It was clear that he wanted to help Trowa learn more about himself, and to teach him some new tricks too. “Feel free to explore this world with me,” he said graciously, making sure the other knew that they could have fun and that he could be himself in front of Vrox, so they could become close friends and an allies. He sensed that Trowa needed someone to trust, so he encouraged him to speak, study and understand the wonders that ethereal world held for one like him.

Elite

“Thank you,” Trowa said as he tensed, hearing something or someone nearing.

One of Vrox’s people rushed up, panting, “Vrox! Did you see it?! A strange creature appeared in the sky! The elders are gathering, worried it may be a bad omen!”

Vrox

Vrox's lips quirked into a smile, “I feel it too,” he sighed. Silence fell over them for a moment before the newcomer came in a panic. Vrox chuckled and shook his head, “Run down and tell everyone that all is well. The elders should still meet up. I’ve someone to introduce them to.”

With that the other alien nodded, looking at Trowa curiously, before turning to rush off to give the news to the village.

Vrox signaled Trowa to follow, they were soon down the mountain at his village. Vrox sighed and greeted his clan leader when he appeared, voicing his own concerns about anything that could change their tribe dynamics so drastically.

Elite

“That strange creature could be a threat to our entire way of life and you send Korvu down to tell us not to worry? What is going on Vrox?” the clan leader demanded, crossing his arms over his chest before looking at the strange newcomer, “And who and what is this?”

Trowa looked to Vrox, not wanting to upset the clan leader by saying the wrong thing. He’d let Vrox take the lead for now.

Vrox

Vrox stepped forward, placing a hand over his chest in respect to the clan leader. "Please, my leader, this traveller is not from our planet. I believe they may have answers for us. At the very least, he is harmless. He is the creature you saw," he explained, hoping to calm the leader's fear.

The clan leader looked at Trowa skeptically before nodding, "Very well, what information do you bring?" he asked, his tone still stern as he looked Trowa over.

Elite

Trowa cleared his throat, trying to steady his nerves. "I don't know much about your situation, but I can tell you that I am willing to hear about any issues you have and I may just have solution you wouldn’t think of since I have such different experiences," he offered, hoping to be useful in some way.

Vrox

Vrox stepped forward again, placing a hand on Trowa's shoulder in support. "I can vouch for this stranger. He is wise beyond his appearance and I trust him. We have not travelled far together or long but I believe he could be a valued ally," Vrox emphasized, his deep voice calm and comforting.

The clan leader looked at Vrox for a moment before nodding. "Very well, I will allow the… creature… to stay with us for a short while. We have many issues that we need dealt with and perhaps he can prove his usefulness," he agreed, his tone less stern now. "Follow me."

Vrox nodded, thanking the leader, and Trowa followed closely behind, grateful for Vrox's support and protection. They walked through the camp, seeing men and young ones alike peering out of their homes to see the newcomers. Some glared at Trowa, not trusting the strangely small looking being.

Elite

Trowa followed quietly, “I’ll do what I can,” he said as he wondered what issues these people might be facing. He wondered why it appeared to only be males around but thought perhaps their species didn’t have the same distinctions between males and females as humans did.

Vrox

As they approached one of the larger homes, Vrox turned to Trowa with a reassuring smile. "I appreciate your willingness to help, friend. You are much braver than most Ezronians," he said, his voice low so that only Trowa could hear.

They entered the home and Trowa was greeted by a group of men standing around, discussing something. As they noticed Vrox and Trowa, they fell silent and stared at the strange being with Vrox.

"This is apparently the strange creature we saw in the sky, earlier. He has offered to help us with our problems," the clan leader announced to the elders, gesturing towards Trowa.

One of the men stepped forward, sizing up Trowa with a critical eye. "What could you possibly do for us? You look frail and weak," he sneered, causing some laughter from the other men.

Elite

Trowa smirked as he leapt up suddenly, flipping over all of them before landing behind one and quickly bringing his hand around one’s neck, his other hand on the forehead, pulling on his head just enough to make it clear he could easily snap the other’s neck, “I am far from weak…”

Vrox

The air in the room seemed to stiffen as the men stared in shock at Trowa's sudden display of strength and agility. Vrox raised his hands in a gesture of peace, hoping to diffuse the situation.

"Now friends, please don't be alarmed. Our guest is here to help, not to harm," he said in his deep voice, smoothly, eyeing the elders calmly, not seeming worried in the least, trusting Trowa. His words had the desired effect, as the tension began to ease in the room.

"I see that you are not one to trifle with," the clan leader spoke up, eyeing the slight boy curiously. Such a small body but such grace, agility and strength.

Elite

Trowa released his grip on the man, but not before a message was clearly sent. The man stumbled backward, gasping for air, but was thankfully unharmed. The elders and clan leader looked between Trowa and Vrox, impressed by the unexpected show of strength.

Trowa then took a few quick steps, jumped towards the wall on the left before using it to jump off of and land next to Vrox, turning to face the elders calmly as if that were all normal for him.

Vrox

The clan leader chuckled deeply at Trowa's display of agility and strength. "You two will make quite the duo," he said, smiling warmly at Trowa. Trowa couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration and respect towards the clan leader.

The clan leader spoke again, addressing Trowa directly. "You are not from around here, young man. What brings you to our lands?" he asked, his eyes narrowing slightly, as if searching for any sign of weakness in Trowa's response.

Trowa considered his answer carefully before speaking. "It was an accident, to be honest. I was in my world and then suddenly here. My people were messing with something they probably shouldn’t have been. I suppose now I am simply a stranded traveller, seeking knowledge and new experiences," he replied calmly, keeping his words vague but also not wanting to lie.

The elders murmured amongst themselves for a few moments before the clan leader spoke once more. "Very well. As long as you do not cause any trouble, you are welcome here.”

Elite

“Thank you,” Trowa said, looking to Vrox with a warm smile before looking at the elders and the clan leader, “Now… you spoke of a problem you needed help with. What’s going on?” he asked, hoping he could help. He was finally free from Zeon and he intended to start a whole new life on this beautiful planet.

Vrox

The clan leader nodded at Trowa's question. "Yes, we are facing a serious threat. Our village has been under attack by a group of Xeriths, vicious predators who hunt in packs," he explained, the gravity of the situation evident in his voice, “We do have a more dire issue but let’s see what you can do with this one.”

Vrox stepped forward, towering over the elders, and spoke in his deep voice. "I have hunted the Xeriths before. They are not to be taken lightly, but I can deal with them," he said, his eyes glowing with determination.

Elite

Trowa could sense the pride and bravery emanating from Vrox. He knew that Vrox was sincere in his willingness to help. "I am happy to assist in any way I can. Let’s see if your Xeriths can handle a wolf hawk," he added, nodding his head and smirking as his body shifted into his beast form in it’s large and beautiful glory.

Vrox

Vrox looked at Trowa's magnificent transformation with awe once again. "Impressive," he said, marveling at the creature before him. "I think we will make a good team," he added with a smile.

The elders and the clan leader were taken aback by Trowa’s transformation, realizing they had an asset on their hands. "Yes, this may well do. Now let us prepare for the hunt," the clan leader said, determined to rid their village of the Xerith threat.

Once they were ready, Vrox led Trowa into the jungle, his large frame moving swiftly through the foliage. The two moved in unison, their focus solely on their prey. Soon they found themselves face to face with the pack of Xeriths, snarling and ready to attack.

Trowa flew into the air as Vrox charged forward, his eyes gleaming, ready for the fight.

Elite

Trowa aimed for the back of the back, swooping down and clawing at the face of one Xerith at the back, getting the attention of a good chunk of the group, separating the pack into two. He flew at them, clawing and snapping his jaws at them before flying back up. Once a few were weakened, down or blinded, he flew down and lunged at one, going for it’s neck with his powerful jaws.

Vrox

Vrox let out a roar as he burst into the fray. His huge form barreled into one of the Xeriths with such force it let out a yelp as its bones cracked. Wasting no time, he slashed at another with his dagger, drawing blood.

From above, Vrox saw Trowa darting through the air with deadly grace, taking down Xerith after Xerith. Pride and admiration swelled in his chest at the sight of his new partner in battle. Together they were a fearsome duo.

With Trowa distracting much of the pack from above, Vrox had an advantage on the ground. He grappled with one of the larger males, his muscles straining as they rolled in the dirt. With a well-aimed head-butt, Vrox knocked the creature unconscious before turning to the next one.

Elite

Trowa snapped and clawed at the enemy creatures as they tried to surround him, yelping as one clamped down on a wing, pain shooting through him before he lashed at it, slicing it’s face badly and definitely blinding it in one eye before turning to clamp it’s jaws on another one’s neck, the cracking sound of it’s neck breaking sending chills through him before he let it drop and turned to the next one.

Vrox

Vrox growled in approval as he saw Trowa once again display his battle prowess. He had never seen anyone move so gracefully in the heat of combat. Despite the pain from the injured Xerith clinging to his arm, Vrox continued to fight, slashing and clawing at anything that moved.

Suddenly, a loud noise filled the air - it sounded like an explosion in the distance. Both Vrox and Trowa froze for a moment before turning their attention towards the source of the sound. In the sky above them, they saw a large vehicle of some sort descending from the clouds, smoke billowing out from behind it.

"What in Ezron's name is that?" Vrox muttered, his curiosity piqued.

Elite

“It looks like some kind of space ship… a battle class one too… We have things like that on my planet but this is definitely not made by humans. It is very technically advanced,” Trowa uttered out after shifting, having finished the last Xerith, a few alive but too injured to fight back.

Vrox

Vrox's eyes narrowed as he watched the ship descend. He had never seen anything like it before, and the implications were unsettling. "If they come here, we will be unable to stop them," he said, the gravity of the situation setting in. "Our weapons are primitive compared to what they have."

Trowa nodded in agreement. "We need to investigate further and find out who they are and what their intentions are. But first, we need to tend to our injuries and regroup with the others." He gestured towards the clan village. "Let's head back and report what we've found."

Vrox nodded in agreement, his expression resolute. "We shall come up with a plan to protect our home." With that, the two of them headed back to the village to meet up with Vrox's brothers, the elders and the clan leader and discuss their next move.

Elite

Once they got there Trowa let out calmly, “The Xerith’s are taken care of. Those still alive are unlikely to mess with your people… but that flying device is dangerous and I don’t think those wielding it are friendly… Your other issue may have to wait after all.”

Vrox

Vrox's eyes were even more focused on the sky, watching the shimmering spacecraft. He nodded slowly, acknowledging Trowa's words. "Yes, we must deal with this new threat first," he agreed somberly. Being dominant and protective, Vrox instinctively wanted to safeguard his people from all harm.

Turning to address the elders and brothers, Vrox announced, "Towards the Xeriths, we have secured our territory for now, but we have another concern. A mysterious flying vessel has appeared in our skies." Pausing for a moment to let this sink in among the group, he continued, "This is an unknown entity, and we cannot predict its intentions. We must prepare ourselves and our home for any possible outcome."

Elite

“In my world, we have technology that is similar but this does not appear to be from my world from what I can see. I can see what I can do. Perhaps if I can get on the craft I could figure out how to disable it,” Trowa said calmly, “I’d likely need to find it’s main power source. If I find that I should be able to disable it by removing or destroying the power source. No energy means that ship won’t be able to fly any longer… I’ll likely face resistance though,” Trowa explained, “and I’m not even sure I can get on it in the first place.”

Vrox

Vrox listened intently, his keen mind analyzing the situation. He could see the determination in Trowa's gleaming eyes and shared some of that same resolve. "I will accompany you to aid in your endeavor," he declared firmly, his voice carrying weight with his brothers.

Stepping forward, Vrox placed a strong hand on Trowa's shoulder, offering both physical support and emotional reassurance. Their eyes met, locked in a silent understanding before Vrox nodded once more towards the sky. "Together we can face this unknown entity and protect our home."
