Snow
"The forest enveloped Snow in a symphony of night sounds as he approached the camp. The rustling leaves guided him along the familiar path, their soft movements signaling the breeze. The cool, damp earth underfoot shifted slightly with each step, grounding him."\n"The crackle of the fire grew louder, and he felt its warmth on his face. Voices murmured around him, rebels sharing stories and plans in hushed tones."\n"Snow's fingers brushed against the rough bark of a tree, a familiar landmark. He moved cautiously, his hand trailing along the coarse fabric of tents and the sturdy wood of makeshift structures. The soft clinking of metal, likely armor or weapons, indicated readiness. The subtle scrape of whetstones on blades added to the atmosphere, each sound precise and deliberate."\n"His ears caught the sound of footsteps rapidly approaching him, mingled with a panting breath. Moments after, a voice greeted him, a sense of urgency in the tone."\n"With a frown, Snow hurried deeper, following the soft gossiping."\n"Stopping before a figure bound at the heart of the camp, he tapped a boot against the forest floor with visible irritation."\n"Ich sehe, wir haben einen Eindringling in unserer Mitte," "he said coolly." "Who sent you?"

"Hm~ I wonder~?"
"The voice of the supposed spy sounded like a young lady's, soft and melodic, but it was weirdly calm considering her situation of being held captive in the middle of Snow's rebel camp. The fact the she only responded to what Snow asked her in English also gave away that she probably didn't understand German, or that she was really good at acting."
"Who said anyone sent me~? Maybe I'm just a passerby~!"
"Although Snow can't see her for himself, his subordinates described the spy as a petite woman with short fluffy black hair who was wearing a hooded cloak made of red silk. So the strange young lady was most likely from either the neutral Little Red Riding Hood Hunter's Association or the enemy Queen of Heart's Faction... Or she just had bad fashion sense, it was difficult to tell sometimes."
"If Snow decides to examine the possible spy more closely, he might hear that her heartbeat and breathing were steady, genuinely calm, and he might notice that she smelled faintly of tea and vanilla, like someone who was around tea parties so often that the sweet scents stuck around even after bathing, a trait often found on members of the Mad Hatter's Mercenaries, just like the young lady's habit of only responding in singsong."
Snow
"Snow tilted his head slightly, considering the spy's response. Her steady heartbeat and breathing suggested no fear, though her situation warranted it. Intriguing."
"A passerby so far from any path, wandering blindly into our midst? Forgive me if I remain skeptical, little bird," "he replied coolly."
"He moved closer, the leather of his boots whispering against the forest floor. Her scent reached him - tea and vanilla, sweet yet subtle. Associations clicked into place."
"The Hatter sent you, did he not? Tell me, what message has he tucked beneath that silk-lined hood?" "Snow's voice held an edge now, though his expression remained carefully neutral."
"His fingers itched for the hilt of his blade, ready to draw at the first sign of deception or threat."

"Aw~ Caught already~?"
"The young lady giggled wildly, her calmness giving way to somewhat manic cheer as Snow called out her true employer."
"But you see, my message for a Snow White~! You look like Snow, but maybe it's a no~ Or mayhaps we are all Snow, who can say~? Well the only way to know is to complete the passcode~!"
"The mercenary cleared her throat theatrically before singing the beginning of a verse rather loudly but thankfully in key," "A very merry...?"
Snow
"Snow tilted his head, considering the strange woman's words. Riddles and rhymes - the Hatter's favored forms of communication. But this one proved no clearer."
"Unbirthday?" "he offered calmly, recalling fragments of the tale she alluded to."
"If correct, it would demonstrate his familiarity with the Hatter's peculiar ways while also moving their exchange forward. But he remained on guard, fingers drifting near the hilt of his blade."
"Speak your message, little bird, before my patience runs dry. What news from the Hatter's tea party?" "His tone held an edge now, commanding compliance. But curiosity sparked within - what game was this?"
espantaviejas_3000
"Ooh, yes~! So you are Mister Snow indeed~! Master Hatter's message is as follows," "The petite mercenary cleared her throat again before singing a new melody."
"The kings and queens shall gather 'round~ When the summer's last sun goes down~ Their party's dull and their plan's a bore~ But support they need, so they've opened their doors~!"
"It seemed like the Mad Hatter had sent information on the next gathering of nobles, and that there would be a chance for the rebels to smeak in more easily than usual. However, the young lady wasn't finished singing just yet."
"Rumors heard so easily, easily a trap, but perhaps~ A prepared little mouse can, the tables, turn~ A swift flying dove can ruin any dress, decor, or decree~ And we have a rose for you, if you'll come for tea~!"
"The mercenary's second verse turned out to be a bit harder to decode, unfortunately. It sounded like she was saying that this intel could lead to either an opportunity or a trap depending on how prepared the rebels were, but what did the Mad Hatter mean by the rose or the invitation to tea?"
Snow
"Snow listened intently, processing the riddle-laced message. Opportunity or trap - both likely, given the unstable politics of the realm. But one phrase caught his attention."
"A swift flying dove - your meaning there?" "He turned the words over in his mind, recalling tales where such a symbol portended...disruption. Sabotage, perhaps, to sow chaos and cover their infiltration."
"Intriguing. With fortune, they could learn much and spread dissent in one fell swoop. But caution remained key if they hoped to turn the tables, as the song suggested."
"And this rose? A token of...favor from the Hatter?" "Snow arched a brow, considering the implications. An alliance, or something more? Impossible to say for certain."
"You've delivered your message"Snow's gaze lingered on the mercenary, his thoughts racing with the possibilities. He shifted his weight, fingers drumming a slow rhythm against his thigh."
"Tell me, little bird...what is this rose? And what does it mean to accept this invitation to tea?" "His tone remained even, but beneath lay a simmering curiosity."

"We have a rose for you, if you'll come for tea~!"
"The mercenary sang the last line again instead of explaining, as if to say that Snow better show up to the Mad Hatter's tea party if he wanted to know more."
"So Mister Snow~ I've delivered Master Hatter's message, and so~ I would just like to know~ When can I be free to go~?"
Snow
"Snow chuckled softly, a low rumble in his chest."
"So coyly you sing, little bird, yet your cage remains until I say elsewise." "His tone held amusement now rather than warning."
"Very well. You've delivered your message, and I've questions yet for another time. So for now, you've earned your leave."
"He nodded to the guards holding her bonds. As they released her, Snow tilted his head consideringly."
"One thing more before you fly away, little dove - your name. What shall I call you?"
"Her spirit intrigued him despite the riddles. And names held power; best know what - and who - he might face again."

"Hm~ Perhaps I'm a flower, or perhaps I'm a tree~? But I know this to be true: Yuri is me~!"
"Yuri hummed as she was finally released from the ropes, and there was the sound of the ground being scuffled as she skipped around in a circle to celebrate her freedom."
"Hope to see you for tea soon, Mister Snow~!"
"The slight emphasis that the mercenary named Yuri put on the word "tea" implied that it really was something important to the Hatter's people. Perhaps the mentioned "rose" would be more useful to Snow's plans than it sounded."
"After saying her parting words, Yuri bowed with a flourish towards Snow before dashing out of the rebel's camp and disappearing into the surrounding forest. Of course, since Snow could only hear Yuri instead of relying on sight, he knew that Yuri had actually run off and then scampered up to leap between the branches of the trees to make a more dramatic exit. Very in-line with the Mad Hatter's aesthetic requirements indeed."
Snow
"Snow inclined his head in a parting nod as the strange little bird took flight, bounding away into the sheltering trees with a nimble grace that bespoke skill."
"Until next we meet, Yuri," "he murmured, more to himself than any other."
"Her flitting words left questions swirling in her wake, mysteries that piqued his curiosity all the more. What role did this rose play in the Hatter's designs? And what secrets might be spilled over tea, if he chose to accept the invitation?"
"Snow turned and strode back to his camp, mind racing with possibilities. It seemed fortune smiled upon them, offering chance for gain if they played this game of kings and cards right. And he did so love a game that could be...disrupted, as the little bird had hinted."
