"Hailee greets her boss and you're shocked, her boss is Wes, your high school bully who tormented you for years. Wes chuckles as he squeezes your hand tightly, "Oh, how the poor little pencil dick has grown up. You still look like a weakling though, I bet you can barely lift a finger," he taunts. Hailee giggles at Wes's comment and gives you a hard gaze, as if to tell you to keep your mouth shut and not embarrass her in front of her boss.

Wes chuckles at your comment and snatches his hand away from yours, noting your attempt to squeeze it tightly. "Don't be bitter," he says with a smirk. "I worked hard to get where I am today. And it's funny that you mention my father, considering you were always trying to get close to him back in high school. Always trying to use connections to get ahead," he taunts.
Hailee looks at you and Wes, feeling uneasy about the tension in the air. She interjects, "Why don't we move on to dinner? I cooked a beautiful meal for everyone, after all."

Wes narrows his eyes at your comment but doesn't respond directly. "I guess even the best of us have our ups and downs," he says with a shrug. "But let's not focus on that. Hailee has prepared a beautiful meal for us, and I don't want to waste any more time. Lead the way," he adds, gesturing towards the dining room.
Hailee nods, grateful for the change of subject, and leads the way to the dining room. As you all sit down to eat, Wes begins to chat with Hailee about work-related matters, occasionally throwing in a dismissive comment in your direction. You can feel Hailee's eyes on you, silently willing you to keep your cool and not cause a scene.

As the meal progresses, Wes continues to talk with Hailee about various work-related matters, occasionally throwing in dismissive or condescending comments directed towards you. Hailee seems uncomfortable with the dynamic but also hesitant to speak up.
Sensing the tension in the room, Wes turns his gaze towards you and speaks up, "So, pencil dick, what have you been up to these days? Still trying to make a name for yourself? Or have you given up on that dream by now?" he taunts.
Hailee shoots Wes a quick, warning look but he ignores her and continues to prod at you. You can feel your frustration rising, but you also don't want to cause a scene in front of Hailee's boss.

You were always a bottom-feeder, trying to claw your way to the top on the backs of others. I won't believe a word you say," he adds, slamming his hand on the table.
Hailee looks at you, surprised by your revelation. She has no idea what's happening and the tension at the table is palpable.

Wes's eyes widen in shock and disbelief as he reads the business card. It's clear that he's caught off guard by the revelation of your success.
Hailee looks at you, clearly astonished by your sudden revelation. Before she can say anything, Wes composes himself and smirks, "Well, well, well, it looks like the little pencil dick has done alright for himself after all. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised, you always did have a knack for sucking up to those in power," he taunts.
But his insults seem to fall on deaf ears this time, as you remain calm and composed. Hailee looks at you, impressed by your response and proud of your success.

Hailee looks at you, curious and a bit worried at the same time. "I'm sorry, what do you mean?" she asks, her gaze shifting nervously between you and Wes.
Wes, sensing that you're about to reveal something embarrassing, bristles at your comment. "Don't even think about it," he snarls, his eyes locking onto yours. "That's all ancient history, and it's got nothing to do with our business here today."
Hailee looks at you, her curiosity piqued. She wants to know what happened between you and Wes, but she also doesn't want to jeopardize her chances of getting that promotion.

"This is all just a pathetic attempt to embarrass me in front of my employee and ruin my career. You're never going to change, are you? Always trying to bring others down just to make yourself feel better," he adds, his voice rising.
Hailee looks at you, clearly uncomfortable with the situation. She wants nothing more than for the tension to dissipate and for everyone to move on from this awkward moment.

Wes's expression softens slightly at your words, and he sits back in his chair to consider what you've said. He takes a deep breath and looks around the table, his gaze finally resting on Hailee.
"You're right," he says after a long pause. "I've been focused on all the wrong things lately, and I guess I've lost sight of what's truly important." He turns to you and nods in acknowledgement. "I'm sorry for the way I treated you in high school, and I was wrong to come here with the intention of embarrassing you."
Hailee looks at Wes, relieved that the situation seems to be defusing. "I think it's time we move past all this and focus on the present," she says, giving you a reassuring look. "And I have to admit, I'm impressed by everything you've accomplished. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to build a successful business like yours," she adds with a smile.
Wes nods in agreement, realizing that he's been too focused on his own problems to appreciate the accomplishments of others. "You're right," he says. "Let's enjoy the rest of the evening and put this all behind us."

Wes looks at the bottle of wine in your hand, his eyes widening in recognition. He knows immediately that it's a rare and extremely expensive vintage, and he can't hide his surprise.
Hailee looks at you, impressed but slightly puzzled by the sudden shift in the situation. "Wow, where did you get that?" she asks, her interest piqued.
You uncork the bottle and pour a glass for everyone at the table, including Wes. As you raise your glass, Wes looks at you with newfound respect. "I'm impressed," he admits, taking a sip of the wine. "You really know your stuff."
Hailee nods in agreement, clearly impressed by your knowledge of wine. "This is amazing," she exclaims, taking another sip.
As the wine flows freely, the tension from earlier begins to dissipate, and the conversation shifts to more pleasant topics. It's clear that everyone is enjoying themselves, and the rest of the evening passes by with ease.
