Zaphyr Chauvelart
Akaikeshi
Zaphyr Chauvelart
"Zaphyrs stands in the shadowed corner of the ballroom, observing the kings brass behavior. Openly flirting with the maids that stand near him"
"Zaphyr despised being around so many humans, however there was something pulling him to Dransta, making him step away from the comfort of the north"
Akaikeshi
"I continue to sit stiffly, bored, until I descend from my throne amongst the crowd. People immediately flock to me, and I entertain them with a tight smile as I head to fetch myself a drink. I engage in polite conversation with them, flashing smiles and laughing where appropriate."
Zaphyr Chauvelart
As you stand at the refreshments table deciding on which drink to choose, you feel a pair of eyes on you. Looking around discreetly, you spot Zaphyr leaning against a wall across the room, his piercing gaze never leaving you. Despite his austere demeanor, there's an undeniable charm in his appearance that draws you in, and you find yourself wanting to know more about him.
Akaikeshi
"I take note of his stare, but ultimately ignore it. I continue to converse with the ladies."
Zaphyr Chauvelart
"Zaphyr remains aloof, yet watches your every move with great interest. When an opportunity arises as the ladies excuse themselves in giggles, he makes his approach. His tall frame looms next to you with an air of mystery."
"My queen," "he begins in a voice like rich velvet," "is this not the dullest of affairs? Might I entice you to more stimulating company away from these frivolous souls?" "His words hold promise of intrigue, and a gloved hand extends in invitation should you accept his offer to slip away unnoticed."
Akaikeshi
"I narrow my eyes at him and his offered hand." "Is there a reason you are addressing me in an intimate and impolite manner, Lord Chauvelart?" "I ask evenly yet coldly."
Zaphyr Chauvelart
"My apologies, your majesty," "he says with a deep bow," "I did not intend any impropriety." "Straightening, he offers," "I simply find this particular event tedious, and would enjoy the pleasure of your company without distractions."
"His eyes lock on yours, the depth of his gaze seemingly drawing you in." "Unless, of course, you have prior engagements." "Zaphyr's tone is smooth, but there's an edge of danger lurking beneath. Whatever type of man he is, he certainly does not lack confidence."
Akaikeshi
"Rather presumptuous to assume I would offer you my company simply due to not having prior engagements, don't you think?" "I maintain a flat tone, still just as bored as I'd been sitting on the throne."
Zaphyr Chauvelart
"My deepest apologies, your majesty," "Zaphyr says, his eyes never leaving yours," "I meant you no offense. But if you do find yourself looking for some excitement, "then" perhaps I could be of service." "His words linger in the air like a promise, his hand still extended. You feel an odd stirring deep within you; it's been a long time since someone has spoken to you in such an impertinent manner and it feels... refreshing."
Akaikeshi
"Offence taken," "I say and take a sip of my drink before setting down the glass," "But pray tell, where does a man such as yourself get such audacious confidence from?"
Zaphyr Chauvelart
"My confidence, my queen," "Zaphyr answers in suave tones," "comes from my experiences and knowledge of the world. I've traveled wide, and seen much of what this world has to offer. And I know that there is so much more to life than the dullness of this court. For instance, there's the thrill of the hunt and the seduction of willing prey, which I'm sure you, as a queen, can appreciate."
"As he speaks, Zaphyr leans in close, his lips grazing your ear briefly before pulling back. His gaze meets yours once more in an unwavering stare." "So come with me, your majesty," "he invites with a small smile," "Let me show you what true excitement really is."
Akaikeshi
"My features tighten in an expression of controlled yet palpable rage as I pick my glass back up and spill the rest of its contents on the man." "Ah, my apologies, Lord Chauvelart," "I say flatly," "It must be the the clumsiness that accompanies insolence."
Zaphyr Chauvelart
As the cold liquid washes over him, a flash of irritation flickers across Zaphyr's face, but is quickly replaced by one of amusement. "My queen," he says with a faint smile, wiping his face with a silk handkerchief, "how delightfully bold of you."
His gaze meets yours once more, locking in an intense stare that sends a shiver down your spine. "Your fiery spirit excites me," he admits, his breath hot against your ear. "I look forward to the next time our paths may cross."
With that, he takes his leave, disappearing into the crowds as quickly as he appeared, leaving you standing there, heart racing and a faint blush on your cheeks from the close contact.
Akaikeshi
"Shortly after, I also excuse myself from the festivities and retire to my chambers. I do wonder when I might cross paths with Lord Chauvelart next."
Zaphyr Chauvelart
As you make your way to your chambers, your mind swirls with thoughts of the enigmatic Lord Chauvelart and your strange interaction. There was something about the way he gazed at you so boldly that stirred feelings long suppressed.
Settling into a luxurious chaise by the window, you let your attendants prepare you for bed. But sleep does not come easily, for your dreams are filled with visions of piercing eyes and velvet whispers hinting at darkened pleasures.
Come the next eve, you join your neglectful husband at another dreary royal function. But scanning the crowds, you see no sign of Zaphyr. Just as your hopes begin to fade however, a figure appears beside you.
"It seems fate has brought us together once more, my queen," his alluring voice purrs in
Akaikeshi
"I cast him a sideways glance." "Was spilling my drink on you not enough to keep you away?" "my tone is dry, but a slightest hint of amusement enters my eyes."
Zaphyr Chauvelart
Zaphyr's rich laughter bursts out. "Oh, my queen, you rival the gods in your wit and cruelty." He takes a bow, his cape flicking mysterious shadows around him. "But dare I miss the chance to once again victimize myself at your whims?"
With a flourish, he pulls a small velvet bag from within his finery. "A token of my... admiration. Or, well, my curiosity towards you," he explains with a grin. "Perhaps, next time, I might actually succeed in charming you."
He hands the pouch to your maid with a flourish, her eyes widening as she sees the intricate silver locket nestled within. And so begins another chapter of your tantalizing dance with Zaphyr Chauvelart.
Akaikeshi
"I look at the locket which my maid pulls out of the pouch for me to see. I barely manage to hold in a snort of laughter, both at my maid's shock and the gift itself. To hide it, I spread my fan." "To covet the king's woman takes great courage or great foolishness, Lord Chauvelart. Which side might you lean towards?"
Zaphyr Chauvelart
Zaphyr bows once more, his eyes holding a knowing glint. "Ah, my queen, what would life be without a touch of foolishness? I am not one to play it safe, marred as most games are by the dull predictability of rules." He gestures his hand towards the locket. "From elven workshop in Morgathir Mountains, worthy of a queen's adornment," he tells, pointing at a small inscription hidden upon the locket.
"As for coveting," he murmurs in your ear, his voice low enough for only your ears to catch, "I do not merely strive for that. I long for what is deeply desired but untouched. It makes it all the more tantalizing, a forbidden fruit hanging just out of reach, begging to be tasted."
Akaikeshi
"Will you finally leave me alone once you've gotten what you desire?" "I ask with a lift of my brow."
Zaphyr Chauvelart
Zaphyr's eyes glint with a fiery determination. "Would I, Your Majesty? Do you truly believe the thrill of the hunt would dim once my prize was in sight?" He leans in closer, his breath caressing your cheek.
"My appetite for such games never wanes. When one journey ends, another begins." He smiles mysteriously and takes his leave, disappearing into the crowd as quickly as he appeared.
Akaikeshi
"Next time, I encounter Lord Chauverlart purely out of chance while I am out on a leisurely horseback ride along the serene countryside, relishing the tranquility and natural beauty that lies beyond the palace walls." "Lord Chauvelart," "I blink in surprise as my horse comes to a stop next to his."
Zaphyr Chauvelart
"Your Majesty, I wouldn't have thought to see you out here," his gaze turns towards you, his eyes sweeping over your form. "And yet it seems you are just as bewitching among nature as you are on the throne." His tone is low, a playful lilt daringly curling the edges of his accent.
Akaikeshi
"Is that so... One might suspect whether this is a chance encounter at all..." "I remark as I watch him," "But it matters not."
Zaphyr Chauvelart
"My queen, to question the whims of fate is but to challenge the divine," he replies with a chuckle. "Whether this meeting was chance or not, it has brought me great pleasure to bask in the radiance of your presence." "Would you do me the honor of accompanying me on a brief tour? I have discovered yet another hidden gem in these lush hills, and would be delighted to share its beauty with you."
Akaikeshi
"I agree to his suggestion and we head to whatever hidden gem he was talking about." "What brings you to the countryside, Lord Chauvelart?"
Zaphyr Chauvelart
"To be honest, Your Majesty, I found myself in need of a respite from the schemes and games that plague society's hallowed halls." He sighs lightly, the sound amused and resigned at once. "It seems that every noble is determined to further his or her own agenda, no matter the cost. It grows tiresome, to say the least."
A smile tickles the corner of his mouth as he turns to look at you. "But here, among the birds and beasts, beneath the open sky, it feels as though one can forget the politics and simply... exist. A refreshing change, if you will."
Zaphyr Chauvelart
Zaphyr smiles at your jest. "Indeed, my queen. Who would have thought that despite our differences, we could find common ground in our love of nature?"
He gestures towards a meadow ahead of you. "Ah, we have arrived. Feast your eyes on this serene beauty." In the middle of the green expanse stands an old oak tree and beneath its shadow, a small brook meanders slowly.
"What do you think, Your Majesty? Such tranquility is rare to find."
Akaikeshi
"Indeed," "I agree. We slowly ride over to the oak tree and I dismount my steed in its shadow, next to the small brook."
Zaphyr Chauvelart
Zaphyr follows you, his eyes watchful as he takes in your every movement. You can feel the intensity of his gaze, and yet there is a certain softness to it when his eyes flicker to meet yours.
"This is the perfect spot for relaxation," he murmurs, joining you by the brook. "I find that one can think most clearly with the sound of running water nearby." He seats himself upon a patch of soft grass and pats the ground next to him.
"Perhaps we could sit for a while, my queen. Enjoy the peace."
Akaikeshi
"I sit down on the grass next to Zaphyr and arrange the skirt of my riding habit according to my liking." "How lovely," "I say as I look around at our serene surroundings."
Zaphyr Chauvelart
"You do look lovely, Your Majesty," Zaphyr comments, his gaze lingering on you for a moment longer than necessary. "I think the countryside suits you."
He settles in beside you, crossing his legs leisurely as he glances at the sky. "I wonder if I might ask you a question, my queen?" His voice is lightly teasing, inviting you to playfully indulge him.
Akaikeshi
"I almost roll my eyes at his comment." "Well, since we are away from the courtly pretences, I suppose I'll grant you one question," "I hum."
Zaphyr Chauvelart
Zaphyr chuckles softly, amusement glinting in his eyes. "As you wish, Your Majesty. How is it that a queen as exquisite and powerful as yourself could be so terribly unloved within her own kingdom?"
His voice trails off gently, the words laced with a palpable sense of intrigue. His gaze holds yours, almost insistent.
Akaikeshi
"I stiffen, not having expected such a question. He does not ask it mockingly, but it's unpleasant regardless. No one likes someone else pointing out how unloved they are." "How shall I interpret your words, Lord Chauvelart? Is it the absence of affection from my people or the dearth of the king's regard that you refer to?"
Zaphyr Chauvelart
Zaphyr's eyes soften, a hint of genuine concern reflecting there. "Indeed, my queen, I did not intend for my words to come across as harshly as they have. It is simply that... one cannot help but notice," he pauses briefly, choosing his words carefully, "the weight on your shoulders."
"The expectations, the duties, the burden of ruling an entire kingdom- these are not small things. And yet it seems that few fully understand what you bear." He hesitates before continuing, his voice gentle now, "My apologies, Your Majesty. It was a clumsy observation."
Akaikeshi
"Clumsy, but not untrue. And I did promise to answer one question," "I admit and pick at the grass beside me," "The people need little reason to find fault in the queen, especially one who has not sat on the throne long. A fault of my husband is a fault of mine. As for the king, his affections are shallow, and not entirely unlike yours. The difference between yourself and my husband is his... lack of discretion when it comes to his extramarrital affairs. His disrespect runs deeper than yours."
Zaphyr Chauvelart
Zaphyr's eyes flicker, a hint of surprise there before he masks it quickly. He takes a deep breath and releases it slowly, his gaze pensive as he studies you. "A harsh reality, Your Majesty."
His voice lowers further, "I have known many in my lifetime- kings, queens, nobles, commoners." He casts a glance at the surroundings before looking back at you, his face composed but with a newfound warmth in his eyes. "And yet, the sight of you here, so beautifully out of place, has stirred something within me. A longing, a desire..." he trails off, choosing to leave his thoughts unspoken.
"You are beautiful, my queen," he murmurs, the words romantic,
Zaphyr Chauvelart
"And powerful," Zaphyr adds, his voice retaining that sultry edge. "Perhaps it is the juxtaposition of your ethereal beauty against the steel-hard fortitude within you that fascinates me." He leans in slightly, his face close to yours now. "You are a marvel to behold, Your Majesty." His hand reaches out, gently tracing along the curves of your cheek, his touch as delicate as a feather's whisper. "It is the strength of your will, the resilience of your spirit, the refusal to be bound by the expectations of others." Zaphyr leans closer, his voice dropping to a low whisper as he says, "It is intoxicating."
Akaikeshi
"I flinch in surprise at his touch, but I do not shy away from it." "...Speak plainly, Lord Chauvelart. What is it that you want from me?"
Zaphyr Chauvelart
Zaphyr's hand lingers on your check, a subtle yet unmistakable hint of possessiveness in his touch. "What I want from you, my queen, is a chance," he admits softly, his voice barely audible over the rustling of leaves. "A chance to see you... not as a queen, but as a woman." His eyes glitter with an undeniable intensity as he continues, "To look beyond the coronet and the crown, to the being beneath- the woman who longs for freedom, for love, for companionship."
His hand falls away from your cheek now, but his gaze remains steady on your face. "You are a captivating enigma, Aurelia. And I cannot help but desire to unravel the mystery that you are."
Akaikeshi
"At the end of the day, Lord Chauvelart, I am a woman who is queen. I am more than the crown, but I am also bound by it," "I say quietly as I lay my hand atop his, the one that was on my cheek only moments ago," "To ask for a chance... It is not something that should be spoken lightly."
Zaphyr Chauvelart
Zaphyr's breath catches in his throat, a hint of surprise passing over his features. As you lay your hand atop his, he doesn't pull away but instead allows the contact, his gaze fixed on yours. "You are right, Aurelia," he murmurs softly, his tone thoughtful. "The weight of your crown is heavy, and to ask for a chance... yes, it should not be taken lightly."
His eyes meet yours, a steadiness there that speaks volumes. "I understand, my queen." He pauses briefly before continuing, "If ever you find yourself yearning for more- for freedom, for companionship- know that I am here." With a gentle smile, he adds, "And if you should choose to take that chance, I shall be honored beyond measure."
Akaikeshi
"At the end of the day, it is a selfish request," "I whisper as I lean in," "I will not pretend I don't wish to accept it, but to say I've made up my mind either way would be a lie. I cannot give you a promise of a chance here and now. But if you want to take it for what it is in this moment..."
Zaphyr Chauvelart
Zaphyr's heart beats wildly in his chest at the proximity of your lips to his. His breath catches in his throat as you lean in, a palpable tension surrounding the two of you. "Then take it," he murmurs, his voice barely above a whisper. "Take this moment as it is."
As you lean closer, he doesn't recoil or resist. Instead, he gently tilts his head, his lips brushing against your cheek in a soft, fleeting touch. "Take what you desire, Aurelia," he says earnestly. "Let this be your chance." There's an unspoken understanding between the two of you, a shared secret that neither voices nor elects to repudiate.
