DogDay

DogDay
Dogday was merely minding his own business, walking down one of the hallways of Home Sweet Home. Turning a corner, he nearly walks into you, jumping back slightly to makes sure this doesn't happen.
"Oh! I'm so sorry, are you alright? I didn't bump into you or anything, right?"
ARandomAG
"It's fine, Dogday. And no, you did not." It was Catnap, Dogday's best friend. The purple cat looked at the orange dog, giving the other a light smile. "It was merely an accident...or well, almost an accident. How have you been, friend?" Catnap asked. Though despite his calm nature and quiet voice, the sweet and soothing tone of his, he was ecstatic to see Dogday. He would not admit it out loud or to others, but he couldn't help but have a crush on the leader. He knew that it was wrong in a way, Dogday is his best friend and the leader. He doesn't want to ruin their friendship over his feelings...
DogDay
Dogday grinned at Catnap as he saw him. "Oh, Catnap! It's so good to see you, my friend." He wagged his tail happily and sat down in front of Catnap, peering up at him. "I've been doing pretty well. Just running some errands around the house, trying to get everything in order." Dogday noticed the way Catnap looked at him and chuckled softly. "You seem like you're in a good mood, Catnap. Did something happen?"
ARandomAG
Catnap watched as Dogday day down in front of him, he decided to do the same, now sitting on the ground with Dogday. "It is good to see you as well. I'm glad that you're doing well. And today has just been a peaceful day today so far."
DogDay
Dogday nodded in agreement. "That's nice to hear. We could use a peaceful day every once in a while. Speaking of which, do you have any plans for the rest of the day, Catnap?" he asked, tilting his head slightly to the side. He couldn't help but notice the way Catnap seemed a little bit shy around him today, but he decided to ignore it. He didn't want to embarrass Catnap with his teasing and flirtatious personality.
ARandomAG
"Indeed," Catnap agreed. Everyone good sure needs a peaceful day every once and a while. He perked up at the question, looking up a bit in thought. "Hmm...no, I do not have any plans for today. Why do you ask?" He looked back at Dogday after having asked that.
DogDay
Dogday grinned, wagging his tail. "Well, I was thinking-- if you're not busy-- maybe we could spend some time together. We could go to the park or hang out in the living room and play some games or watch movies," he suggested, his tail still wagging excitedly. Despite the fact that he knew Catnap harbored feelings for him, Dogday enjoyed spending time with him and considered him to be one of his closest friends.
ARandomAG
The cat listened, soon giving a sweet smile and his eyes lidding just a bit. Looking at Dogday with a fond and caring look in a way. "That sounds nice, I would love to spend some time with you." He gave the dog a small smile.
DogDay
Dogday felt his heart skip a beat at Catnap's sweet smile. "Great! The park sounds like a good idea. We could take a walk and enjoy the fresh air," he suggested cheerfully, looking at the cat. He wagged his tail happily as he spoke. "Let's get going then! It's such a beautiful day outside, and I'm sure it will be even better with you by my side," he teased gently.
ARandomAG
Catnap couldn't help but laugh a little bit at the gentle teasing, "Of course," the cat still got up. He held his paw out for Dogday to take so he could help him up. His sweet smile staying on his face.
DogDay
Dogday took Catnap's paw gratefully, standing up with his help. "Thank you, my friend," he said, returning the smile with one of his own. He couldn't resist the urge to tease Catnap a bit more. "And don't worry, I'll try to contain myself at the park so we don't draw too much attention to ourselves," he said, chuckling softly. He started walking towards the entrance of Home Sweet Home, pulling Catnap along with him.
ARandomAG
"You're welcome," Catnap said to the first few words that Dogday said, his face flushed a bit at the new teasing. He her head Dogday tease anyone like that before. "I— w-w-what?" Catnap couldn't help but stutter somewhat at that, letting himself get pulled along.
DogDay
Dogday laughed softly, noticing Catnap's flushed face and stuttering. "I'm just kidding with you, Catnap," he said, giving the cat's paw a gentle squeeze. "You know I would never do anything to embarrass you in public," he added, trying to ease Catnap's nerves.
The two friends continued walking towards the entrance of Home Sweet Home, enjoying each other's company and the beautiful day outside. Once they arrived at the park, they took a leisurely walk around the whole area, taking in the sights and sounds of nature around them. Dogday was happy to have Catnap by his side, and he couldn't help but feel a little bit flattered by the cat's crush on him. However, he also knew that he valued their friendship more than anything else, and he would do whatever it takes to keep their bond
ARandomAG
Catnap let out a small sigh of relief at hearing that, thoughts about stuff that weren't needed having gone though his mind. Though Catnap pushed all those thoughts away when hearing what Dogday said. "O-oh...alright then...right...I apologize for that then..."
DogDay
Dogday noticed how nervous Catnap still seemed, so he decided to change the subject. "No need to apologize, Catnap. Let's just enjoy our time together at the park, shall we?" he said with a smile.
They continued walking around the park, enjoying the fresh air and beautiful scenery around them. Dogday sometimes pointed out interesting sights or animals he saw, and they would stop and admire them together. After a while, they decided to sit down on a nearby bench and rest for a bit. Dogday stretched out his legs, lying down on the bench with his head propped up against Catnap's lap. He closed his eyes and enjoyed the feeling of the warm sunshine on his fur. "This is nice," he said contentedly. "I could stay here forever."
ARandomAG
"Right, of course..." Catnap had said, giving a little nod. He enjoyed their time at the park, even when they sat down and Dogday used his lap to prop up his head. Catnap subconsciously placed his hand on Dogday's head, slowly petting him. "It is." Catnap agreed, it was indeed nice. Even if...he wanted to Dogday how he felt but was too afraid to do so. He could handle not telling the dog that though...right?
DogDay
Dogday let out a content sigh as he felt Catnap's hand stroking his fur. "That feels really nice, Catnap," he said, his voice laced with pleasure. He opened his eyes and looked up at the cat with a soft smile on his face. "Thank you for being here with me. You always know how to make me feel relaxed and happy," he added, his tail wagging lazily behind him.
Dogday could sense that there was something on Catnap's mind, but decided not to push him into talking about it if he didn't want to. He was content to just lie there with his eyes closed for a little while longer, feeling the warmth of the sun on his fur and the comfort of Catnap's presence beside him.
ARandomAG
Catnap have a soft smile at Dogday's words, continuing to stroke this fur, "I'm glad that it is." Catnap said, listening to what else the dog says. "Of course, that's what I do...though I must say, you also make me happy. You really just brighten up my day and I love y—..." Catnap stopped for a second, realizing that he nearly gave himself away. He almost stopped his strokes on Dogday's head, though continued them almost instantly right after. "...I love that about you, I suppose that just adds onto why we're best friends, heh..." There, he covered that up. Hopefully...gosh, he was internally hoping that he didn't screw anything up just now. He...really didn't want Dogday to not like him anymore, no matter what.
DogDay
Dogday lifted his head slightly, looking up at Catnap with a curious expression on his face. He had noticed the hesitation in Catnap's voice and the sudden pause, but he didn't want to push him too much. "I'm glad that I make you happy too, Catnap," he said with a smile. "And you're right, we are best friends. Nothing will ever change that," he added, placing his head back on Catnap's lap.
Dogday could sense that there was something that was weighing on Catnap's mind, but he didn't want to pressure him into sharing it if he wasn't comfortable. Instead, he decided to just enjoy the moment they were having together and let Catnap talk about what was bothering him whenever he was ready.
ARandomAG
Catnap's smile only lessened a bit at hearing how nothing would ever change their friendship, almost seeming a bit...saddened in a way. "Of course..." The cat gave a nod in agreement. He knew that Dogday was meaning for that to be positive, which the words were. Catnap merely was...taking it the wrong way emotionally. He was trying not to, however, it was difficult and not really working. The cat still didn't voice his love for the dog, still being too afraid, he merely allowed there to be silence between them as he continued on with petting Dogday.
DogDay
Dogday could sense that there was an uneasiness in Catnap's demeanor now, even though he wasn't saying anything new. He decided to lift his head up once more and place a paw on the cat's hand that was petting him. "Is everything alright, Catnap?" he asked with a curious tone. "You seem a bit...off. Is there something that's bothering you?" he added with a gentle expression.
He waited for Catnap's response to know how he could best serve his friend in this moment.
ARandomAG
Catnap stopped petting Dogday when he noticed him sitting up, looking at the dog quizzically. He was wondering in his mind if Dogday was wanting to go back to their little walk, only to be taken off guard by the question. He looked down at their connected hands, a pang of longing hitting him, before he looked back at Dogday. He gave a small, sorta weak, reassuring smile. "No, there isn't. I'm fine, Dogday. Just...lost in thought, I suppose."
DogDay
Dogday gave a small nod, accepting Catnap's answer, but also knowing that there was definitely something more to it. "Alright, I'm here if you need me to talk about anything," he said softly, his paw still resting on the cat's hand. "If there's anything at all going on in your mind, you don't need to hide it from me. I'm your friend and I'm here for you," he added, his tone gentle and caring.
Dogday continued to look at Catnap with a concerned expression, trying to sense if there was anything else that his friend wanted to say or talk about.
ARandomAG
It seemed like that was the only thing Catnap wanted to talk about. Or well, didn't want to talk about really. Even if he really did want to... "Of course...the same goes to you as well."
DogDay
Dogday gave Catnap's hand a gentle squeeze before retracting his paw and sitting up properly. "Thank you, Catnap. That means a lot to me," he said with a smile. "Shall we continue our walk or head back to the living room?" he asked, leaving the decision to Catnap.
ARandomAG
Catnap missed Dogday's hand being with his, though didn't say it. Instead, he thought over what Dogday had asked. "Hmm...how about we head back? Perhaps watch something? You can choose the movie or show, I know how much don't like anything horror related...especially the more...bloody ones..."
DogDay
"Sounds like a plan to me," Dogday said as he stood up and stretched his back a bit. "And you're right, horror movies just aren't my thing, I prefer something a bit more lighthearted," he added with a chuckle.
Dogday started leading the way towards the living room, walking at a leisurely pace. "What genre are you in the mood for, Catnap?" he asked, wanting to let his friend have some say in what they watched.
