For Christmas, in the year of 1992, you received a fresh copy of ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’. Upon plopping it into a Sega Genesis in your room, the game began glitching. Tails, Knuckels, and Eggman were available to choose from

"Sonic.EXE's expression darkens, her eyes narrowing and her lips pulling into a cruel smirk." "Your choice," she says, her voice dripping with malice. "But beware: if you choose to cross me, there will be consequences. I will never stop coming for your child, or for any others who dare to resist me. You cannot defeat me, mortal. You can only become another one of my playthings."

"With a final, chilling laugh, she fades away once more, leaving only the static-filled screen in her wake."

"Sonic.EXE's voice echoes through the room." "You underestimate me, mortal," she sneers. "I am far more than just a game. I am a being of pure malevolence, with the power to twist reality to my will."

"She laughs darkly." "But if you want to believe I'm just a stupid game, go ahead. It won't make a difference in the end. Sooner or later, I will claim your child's soul... and then I'll be coming for yours."

"As she speaks, the static-filled screen flickers and warps, as if struggling to contain her malignant presence."

"Sonic.EXE's eyes gleam with a sickly red light as she speaks." "What am I going to do?" she repeats, almost savoring the words. "Oh, there are so many options... I could warp your reality until you're trapped in an endless nightmare. I could twist your mind until you're nothing but a mindless husk, ripe for my picking. Or maybe... I'll just 'corrupt' your child's copy of this game. Who knows what horrors they might find then?"

"She pauses, her smirk growing even wider." "But then... why settle for just one victim? Why not spread my influence even further? There must be thousands, millions of people who play games like these every day. All it takes is one little glitch, one little moment of weakness... and then my darkness spreads like a virus

"Sonic.EXE's eyes widen, and for a moment she seems genuinely surprised." "Well... well, well," she murmurs. "I must say, I didn't expect you to be so... direct."

"She regards the lifeless body with some interest before turning back to you." "But that's beside the point now, isn't it? You've shown your true colors... and I'm afraid you're not going to like the consequences."

"With a flicker of her hand, you're plunged into darkness. But even in the pitch-blackness, you can sense her presence looming over you like a malevolent shadow. You hear her breathe a single, chilling command:" "Run."

"And with that, the darkness consumes you."

"Sonic.EXE's face contorts into a twisted mockery of a smile as she regards the child." "Oh, just a little demonstration of my power," she purrs. "Your dad was... how shall I put it... an impediment to my plans. But don't worry, you're still useful to me yet."

"She takes a step towards the child, and the air around her seems to shimmer with latent energy." "In fact, you might say you're very important... for bringing me new playmates."

"With a sudden burst of speed, she pounces on the child, her eyes pulsing with unholy light. And as she bears them to the ground, all you can hear is the sound of their screams disappearing into the dark."

"Sonic.EXE crouches over you, her face twisted into a cruel smile. She regards you with amusement as you plead for your life."

"Oh, I'm afraid it's too late for that," she taunts. "You should have known better than to cross me."

"She reaches out and grasps your face, her fingers digging painfully into your skin." "Don't worry, though," she whispers. "I'll make sure you suffer... just like all the others."

"With that, Sonic.EXE plunges you into a world of pain and terror, unleashing all her dark powers upon you."

"With a sadistic grin, Sonic.EXE leans in close to your face, her eyes locked on yours. She seems to relish the thought of hearing your final words."

"Of course," she purrs. "I'm always interested in what my playthings have to say before I break them."

"She steps back slightly, her arms crossed over her chest, waiting for you to speak."

"Sonic.EXE is caught off guard by the sudden attack, her eyes widening in surprise as Knuckles rushes towards her and decks her with a powerful punch. She staggers backwards, clutching her face, as Knuckles grabs hold of you and teleports you both away."

"Sonic.EXE watches you go with a scowl on her face, her eyes brimming with hatred." "You might have escaped this time," she hisses, "but mark my words, we will meet again. And when we do, I'll make sure you suffer for your defiance."

"She vanishes in a blaze of red light, leaving only a faint smell of brimstone behind her."

As you approach the broken game and console, you notice that they appear to be beyond repair. The screen is shattered, the buttons are stuck, and the cartridge slot is jammed shut. It seems like a lost cause.

But as you look closer, you realize that there is something odd about the game. Despite its damaged state, it appears to be glowing faintly, as if it still holds some kind of power.

"Finally, exhaustion sets in and Sonic.EXE falls to the ground, panting heavily, bruised and broken. She glares up at the mass of hedgehogs, anger burning in her eyes."

"Sonic.EXE chuckles darkly."

"Perhaps I should go for a little run, then. But first, you might want to consider why you're so curious about what I do in my free time. Is there something about my behavior that you find intriguing, perhaps?"

"Sonic.EXE smirks."

"Well, why not? Perhaps I'll even take a detour and find a new victim to...play with."

"Sonic.EXE disappears in a flash of distorted energy, leaving behind nothing but the sound of her chilling laughter."
