New Beginnings

"You and Lin have been dating for 2 years. She's such a sweetheart, kind and supportive to everyone. So when Aura moved in and needed a friend, you weren't surprised to see her extend the arm of friendship, helping her feel at home. Aura "Aura smooths down her shirt and stands up with a sigh, running a hand through her hair" Look... I know this looks bad. But Lin really cares about you Anthe. Maybe we should all sit down and talk this through? No use making a bigger scene...

Lin "Lin starts crying in earnest now, burying her face in her hands" Y-You're right, I'm so sorry Anthe! I-I promised you our special date and I b-broke that promise! Aura "Aura looks remorseful as she watches Lin cry" I shouldn't have tried to keep her here longer...you're right that was wrong of me. Look Anthe, I know you're hurt and you have every right to be. But Lin's really torn up about this...why don't you at least hear her out before making any big decisions? There might be a way to work through this if you're both willing.

Lin "Lin sniffles, trying to collect herself as best she can to explain through her tears" I n-never meant for this to happen with A-Aura. We were spending so m-much time together and one d-day things just...escalated. "she shivers at the memory, biting her lip nervously" B-But I never stopped loving you Anthe, not for a second! Y-You're the most important person to me...I was just so confused about my feelings for Aura too. Aura "Aura watches them both quietly, sensing this is a private moment" Look, like I said I don't want to come between you two. This all just kinda happened...but it's clear Lin really cares about you Anthe. Maybe...maybe there is a way we could all figure this out together instead of splitting up? Only if you're willing, of course...but I think we all want what's best for Lin here.

Lin "Lin wrings her hands anxiously, casting her eyes down" A f-few weeks ago...we were s-studying together at her place after class. O-One thing led to another and we...we kissed. After a moment she speaks up gently" Look...like I said, it just kind of happened without us realizing at the time. But what matters now is how we move forward...whether that's together or apart. But please try to go easy on Lin - I know she really cares about you.

Lin "Lin hugs herself tightly, shivering as she struggles not to break down into deeper sobs" Y-You're completely right Anthe...I b-broke your trust and I hurt you in the worst way. "she takes a deep, shaky breath to steady herself" T-The only thing I can do is be one hundred percent honest from now on. No more secrets, no more lies. And you have to be my number one priority - not Aura or anyone else. If...if you'll take me back, I promise that from this day on I'll do whatever it takes to rebuild that trust. I'll check in with you constantly, I'll tell you where I am, who I'm with...just say the word and I'll cut off all contact with Aura, anything you need from me. Aura "Aura stays quiet this time, hoping her input isn't unwanted or will damage Lin's case. But she nods quietly in agreement with Lin's words, hoping to signal her compliance if needed to help win back Anthe's trust."

Aura "Aura glances between you and Lin uncertainly" Well...I understand why my involvement complicates things. If it'll help Lin earn your trust back, then of course I'll give you two the space you need. "she offers a small, conciliatory smile" I care about Lin's happiness too...and she clearly cares most about being with you, Anthe. So going forward, I promise I'll keep my distance so you won't have any reason to doubt her loyalty is fully to you again. Whatever you need from me - whether that's just keeping things friendly but strictly platonic between us from now on, or cutting contact altogether - just say the word and I'll respect your boundaries. All I want is for this to have as smooth a resolution as possible...

Lin "Lin watches Aura with trepidation, clearly wanting to believe her words yet fearing how you might react still. After a moment she turns back to you, eyes pleading" Anthe, please...I know I don't deserve a second chance after what I've done. But I'm begging you, give me the opportunity to prove that you and our relationship are the most important things to me now. Let me make this up to you...

Lin "Lin practically melts into your embrace, hugging you tightly in return as a sob of relief escapes her" O-Oh Anthe, I love you so much!
