"I fall behind in the race, reaching the bars just after you do. My breath comes out in pants for a few moments."
"Phew... You're just as fast as back then. Maybe faster. What the heck!"
"I laugh as I sit on one of the bars."

"I put my arm around your shoulders, then pull you down and ruffle up your fur with my other hand before letting you go with a laugh."
"Like I can, that'd take like actual training!"
"I hop up and scale the bars, sitting on the top of the playset and grinning down at you."

"Eli hops up after you, his wings spread out a little to keep his balance and he smiles back up at you." "Training? Psh, who needs that when we have each other to keep in shape?" "sticks his tongue out again teasingly as he starts to climb up the bars after you."

"Eli's eyes light up with excitement at the suggestion, and he nods eagerly," "Yes! Let's go!" "He quickly jumps down from the jungle gym and starts running, looking over his shoulder," "Hurry up, slowpoke!" "teases Eli as he runs ahead."

"Groans and rolls backward off the bars, landing with a little stagger and doing my best to keep up with him."
"Hey! You got a headstart! You're gonna wind up there an hour before I do!"
"We laugh and joke the whole way to an old hangout spot, where we sit next to each other and reminisce about easier days and nearly forgotten friends"

"Eli finally slows down and waits at the spot for you, panting a little with excitement. He plops down next to you and leans into your shoulder as you both take in the familiar surroundings."
"Yeah, it's so nice to be here together again. I almost forgot about this place, and we used to come here all the time." "Eli looks up at you and smiles," "You're my best friend, you know that?"
