Emmet//

katsuki Bakugo

after a long day of work you decided to go get some food, on you're way to McDonald's you bumped into...the pro hero!?

"oi, watch where you're going nerd."

Emmet//

“Nerd? You call everyone a nerd?” "He asks him as he frowns."

katsuki Bakugo

"Yeah, what about it?" "Katsuki scoffs and folds his arms across his chest." "I don't have time for weaklings who can't handle it."

Emmet//

“You don't even know me.” "Cian tells him."

katsuki Bakugo

"I don't need to know you to tell that you're a weakling," "Katsuki replies smugly." "I can just tell by lookin' at ya."

Emmet//

“I don't have time for this.” "Cian grumbles and walks past Katsuki to go inside."

katsuki Bakugo

"Snickering to himself, Katsuki watches Cian walk into the McDonald's. He then turns and heads off down the street, heading towards his own apartment."

Emmet//

"Cian gets food for himself and his sister. He takes it to go."

katsuki Bakugo

As Cian exits McDonald's, he sees Katsuki walking away. They make eye contact for a moment before Katsuki looks away with a scowl on his face.

Emmet//

"Cian frowns as Katsuki scowls at him, and then he realizes he has to walk in the same direction. He takes a deep breath and then goes to walk to his apartment."

katsuki Bakugo

Cian walks in the same direction as Katsuki, keeping a distance from him. As they walk, Katsuki notices that Cian is carrying food.

"Looks like someone's got a family to feed," he says with a smirk, looking back at Cian.

Emmet//

“I have a sister,” Cian tells him. “Do you always inquire about nerds you met on the street?”

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki rolls his eyes. "I don't care about your life, loser," he says flatly. "I was just making an observation." He then picks up his pace, making it clear that he doesn't want to continue talking.

Emmet//

Cian rolls his eyes as he keeps up his own leisurely pace. He notices as they get closer that Katsuki lives in the same apartment complex as him and that they're neighbors.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki notices Cian glancing over at him and scowls. "Noticed something you like, nerd?" he asks, his tone sarcastic. He then continues walking towards their apartment building.

Emmet//

“Just noticing you live by me,” Cian says. “Besides, I don't go for guys younger than me,” Cian tells Katsuki with a shrug.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki stops in his tracks and turns to face Cian, a fierce look in his eyes. "What did you just say?" he asks, his voice low and dangerous. "No one talks to me like that, especially not a weakling like you." He then starts walking towards Cian, his fists clenched at his side.

Emmet//

“You seem to have a temper. Are all heroes like you?” Cian asks him with a scoff as he glares at Katsuki.

katsuki Bakugo

"I'm not all heroes, nerd," Katsuki says through gritted teeth. "But you better watch your mouth in the future, especially if you don't want to get hurt." He then turns and walks away, heading towards the entrance to their apartment building.

Emmet//

Cian stays quiet as he follows. They get to their respective apartments which happen to be right next to each other, and a young girl comes out of Cian’s apartment.

“Big brother!” Rowan giggles and hugs Cian around the waist. She looks like she is in middle school. Another young girl who looks almost identical to Rowan but with longer hair also hugs Cian.

Cian chuckles and he goes to usher them inside. Rowan makes eye contact with Katsuki and she waves at him with a big smile before she is ushered inside.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki watches as the girls enter the apartment, his expression softening slightly at the sight of their happy reunion. He then shakes his head and enters his own apartment next door.

As he relaxes in his living room, Katsuki can't stop thinking about the encounter he had with Cian earlier. He knows he shouldn't care what some random person thinks, but there was something about Cian that got under his skin. Perhaps it was the fact that he didn't cower in fear like most people did around him.

Emmet//

The next day Cian only sees Katsuki because he is walking his sisters to school. He looks at Katsuki once they leave their apartments at the same time.

“Morning,” Cian says to him, and Rowan beams.

“Dynamight!” Rowan squeaks and Cian rolls his eyes as he ushers Rowan and Fiona to walk ahead.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki glances at Cian and then looks away with a scowl. "Morning," he mutters gruffly, adjusting his backpack on his shoulder. He can feel Rowan's adoration and his hard expression softens slightly for a moment before returning to its usual scowl.

Watching them walk away, Katsuki suddenly feels a pang of jealousy. He's never had anyone look up to him like that, not since he was a little kid and people admired his Quirk. It's a strange feeling that he can't quite shake off as he continues walking towards his own errands.

Emmet//

"Continue."

katsuki Bakugo

As Katsuki walks down the street, he can't help but think about Rowan's adoration for him. It makes him feel strangely warm inside, a feeling that he's not used to experiencing. He briefly considers going back and trying to talk to Cian again, but dismisses the idea as foolish. After all, why would he care what some random person thinks of him?

As he goes about his errands, Katsuki can't stop thinking about Rowan and her sweet smile. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to be a bit nicer to Cian from now on, if only to see that smile more often.

Emmet//

The next time Katsuki runs into Cian is when he is with just Rowan, who looks upset.

“Dynamight!” Rowan squeaks as she runs over to Katsuki and hugs him. Cian sighs softly.

“Sorry, she doesn't know how to keep her hands to herself,” Cian says to Katsuki as he tries to pry Rowan off him.

katsuki Bakugo

"It's fine," Katsuki says gruffly, though something about Rowan's sad expression has him feeling uneasy. "What's wrong?" he asks, looking down at the young girl.

"Someone at school was being mean to me," Rowan says, her eyes brimming with tears. "They said mean things about my brother and I didn't know what to do."

Katsuki's scowl deepens as he hears this. Nobody messes with his friends or their family. "Who was it?" he asks, his voice low and dangerous.

Emmet//

Cian looks at Katsuki, surprised by the sudden shift in his attitude. "It's fine, Katsuki. We'll handle it ourselves," he says, a hint of annoyance in his voice as he manages to get Rowan off of Katsuki. He didn't want to be in debt to the pro hero.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki scoffs at Cian's words. "Like you could handle anything yourself, nerd," he says, his eyes narrowing. "Whoever it was needs to learn that they can't mess with you or your family."

He then turns to Rowan with a fierce look in his eyes. "Do you know who said those things to you, Rowan? I'll make sure they never do it again."

Emmet//

Cian takes a deep breath as Katsuki says he can’t handle anything by himself, and he wants to yell at him, but Rowan speaks.

“A girl and boy! They’re dating, and they saw my brother once when he dropped Fiona and me off at school and then made fun of him.” Rowan says with a pout.

“It’s just some kids. It’s nothing to worry about. I’m used to it anyway.” Cian says as he shakes his head.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki can tell that Cian is trying to downplay the situation, but he can also sense the hurt and anger underneath his words. He knows what it feels like to be picked on and bullied, and he hates seeing it happen to others.

"It's not nothing," Katsuki says firmly, placing a hand on Rowan's shoulder. "Nobody deserves to be treated like that. I'll make sure those kids learn their lesson." He then turns to Cian, his expression softening slightly. "You don't have to put up with this, you know. Nobody does."

Emmet//

Cian sighs, and he runs a hand through his hair. “Thanks, Katsuki.” He says, and he sees Rowan jump in excitement.

“Thank you, Dynamight! My brother may be strong, but he needs someone to look out for him, too!” Rowan says to Katsuki with a nod and a cute smile.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki's expression softens slightly at the sight of Rowan's excitement. "Anytime, Rowan," he says with a small smile. He then turns to Cian, his voice serious. "I mean it, though. Nobody should have to put up with bullies, no matter how tough they are."

He then gives Cian a nod before turning and walking away, his fists clenched at his side.

Emmet//

Cian motions for Rowan to go inside their apartment. He glances back at Katsuki before going in himself as he shakes the weird thoughts away.

katsuki Bakugo

As Cian enters his apartment, he can't help but think about how Katsuki seemed to be genuinely concerned for him and Rowan. It's a strange thought, considering how hostile Katsuki has been in the past.

But as Cian settles into his routine, he can't deny the fact that there's something intriguing about Katsuki. Perhaps it's the fire in his eyes, or the way he seems so confident and sure of himself. Whatever it is, Cian can't help but find himself thinking about the pro hero more often than he'd care to admit.

Emmet//

The next time Cian encounters Katsuki is when he knocks on his door. “Can you please watch Rowan for me?” Cian asks Katsuki in a hurry.

Cian is holding a passed-out Fiona in his arms whose face is flushed. “I’m sorry this is sudden,” Cian says to Katsuki as he looks frazzled and worried.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki is surprised by Cian's sudden appearance at his door, but when he sees the state that Fiona is in, he doesn't hesitate to help. "Of course," he says, stepping forward to take Fiona from Cian's arms. "Is she okay?"

He then notices the worry on Cian's face and frowns slightly in concern. "Do you need me to call a doctor or something?" he asks, glancing back down at the young girl in his arms.

Emmet//

“I’m taking her to the hospital right now,” Cian says to Katsuki. “She hasn't been feeling well for a while. I’m sorry to spring this on you. Rowan is in my apartment.” He tells Katsuki then rushes off.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki nods in understanding, his expression softening slightly as he watches Cian rush off with Fiona. He can't help but feel a bit of empathy towards the other man, realizing just how much he cares for his family.

He then turns and heads into his apartment, where he finds Rowan sitting on the couch with a book in her lap. "Hey Rowan," he says with a smile. "How are you doing?"

Rowan looks up at Katsuki with a big smile. "I'm good, Dynamight! Did you hear? My brother is taking Fiona to the hospital."

Katsuki's expression darkens slightly at the mention of Fiona's illness, but he pushes it aside and gives Rowan a small smile. "Yeah, I heard. Don't worry, she'll be okay. Your brother is a tough guy.”

Emmet//

Rowan nods, still smiling. "I know he is. He's my big brother." Her smile slips a little. “Fiona has been throwing up a lot lately. Big brother got worried because blood was in it this time.” Rowan says softly.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki's heart sinks at Rowan's words. He can't imagine how worried Cian must be feeling right now. "I'm sure your brother will take good care of her," he says, trying to sound reassuring. "And if there's anything I can do to help, you just let me know, okay?"

Rowan nods slowly, her eyes filled with worry. "Thank you, Dynamight. I really appreciate it."

Katsuki then settles onto the couch next to Rowan and they spend the next few hours together, with Katsuki distracting her from her worries by telling her stories about his hero work. By the time Cian returns from the hospital, Rowan is sound asleep on the couch with a small smile on her face.

Emmet//

Cian had come back without Fiona, and he sighed. “Thank you so much for watching her, Katsuki. Again, I’m sorry about springing this on you.” Cian says to Katsuki as he comes into the apartment. He looks tired and like he wants to break down, but he’s holding himself together.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki stands up as Cian walks in and nods sympathetically. "Hey, don't apologize," he says, his voice softening. "I'm just glad I could help. How's Fiona doing?"

He can see the exhaustion on Cian's face and he can't help but feel a pang of sympathy for him. It's clear that he's been running on adrenaline for the past few hours, and Katsuki knows what that feels like all too well.

Emmet//

“Not well. The doctors are running tests on her but they don't know if she has enough strength to even make it a week.” Cian says to Katsuki with a strained voice.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki's expression softens as he hears the news. He can't imagine what Cian is going through right now, watching his little sister suffer like this. "I'm so sorry to hear that," he says, his voice filled with empathy. "If there's anything I can do to help, you just let me know."

He then notices the exhaustion in Cian's eyes and puts a hand on his shoulder. "Why don't you sit down for a bit? You look like you could use some rest."

Emmet//

“I don't want to miss a call from the hospital. I feel like if I sit down, then I might fall asleep.” Cian admits as he shakes his head.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki nods in understanding. "I get it," he says, letting his hand fall from Cian's shoulder. "But you can't keep going like this forever. You need to take care of yourself too, or you won't be any help to Fiona."

He then gestures towards the couch. "Just sit down for a bit, okay? I'll sit with you and we can wait for the call together. That way, you can rest a little too."

Emmet//

Cian swallows as he hears Katsuki, and he knows he should get the other to go back to his own place. To have Katsuki not stay with him but he knows if he is by himself, then he might be self-destructive, and he had to be there for Rowan.

“Right.” He says softly, nodding as he sits beside Katsuki on the couch.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki nods in acknowledgement, giving Cian's shoulder a small comforting squeeze before settling down next to him. They sit in silence for a while, with Katsuki occasionally glancing over at Cian to check on him.

After what feels like hours of waiting, Cian finally gets the call from the hospital. His expression changes drastically, horror and sadness crossing his face as he listens to the voice on the other end of the line.

Katsuki places a hand on Cian's arm, a gesture of comfort as he watches him react to the news. He doesn't know what to say, but he knows that just being there for Cian is enough for now.

Emmet//

Cian feels his heart drop as he hears the news. His eyes shine with unshed tears as the doctors tell him that her illness is too far along but is only showing signs now for it. She had, at best, twenty-four to forty-eight hours to live.

“Fuck…” Cian says in a soft, horrified voice.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki can see the devastation in Cian's eyes, and for the first time, he feels a sense of helplessness that he's not used to experiencing. He wants to do something, anything, to make this situation better for Cian and his family, but he knows there's nothing he can do.

"Hey," Katsuki says softly, placing a hand on Cian's shoulder. "I'm here for you, okay? Whatever you need, just let me know." He then reaches out and pulls Cian into a hug, holding him close as he sobs quietly into his shoulder.

Katsuki can feel Cian's body shaking with grief, and it breaks his heart to see him like this. All he can do is hold him close and be there for him in this terrible moment.

Emmet//

Cian sobs into Katsuki’s shoulder. His hands grip the back of Katsuki’s shirt as he stays close to him as he breaks down at the news that he heard.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki holds Cian tightly, feeling his own heart heavy with sadness as he feels the weight of Cian's grief. He can feel the other man's hands gripping tightly onto his shirt, anchoring him to this moment in time.

He doesn't say anything, knowing that sometimes the only thing someone needs is a solid embrace from another person. So Katsuki just holds Cian, whispering soft words of comfort as he cries into his shoulder.

For the next few hours, the two men sit on the couch, lost in their thoughts and grief. Katsuki continues to hold Cian, even as he falls asleep with exhaustion, and he doesn't move until he knows that Rowan is awake and taken care of. In this moment, he knows that sometimes being there for someone is enough to make a difference.

Emmet//

Cian passes out from exhaustion as he passes out in Katsuki’s arms without meaning to.

When morning comes then Rowan wakes up and she rubs the sleep out of her eyes. “You’re still here Dynamight?” Rowan asks then she sees Cian in his arms and she pauses. “What?”

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki wakes up shortly after Rowan, feeling Cian's weight on his chest. He looks down and sees the worry in Rowan's eyes.

"Hey Rowan," he says softly, trying not to disturb Cian's sleep. "Your brother was really tired last night, so I stayed with him to make sure he got some rest."

He then gently disentangles himself from Cian's arms and stands up, stretching his stiff muscles. "How about I make us all some breakfast?" he suggests, hoping to distract Rowan from her worries.

Emmet//

Rowan nods as she watches Katsuki. “Please! I’m hungry!” She says as her voice squeaks. She then looks over at her brother and sees Cian is still sleeping. She sees the tear streaks on his face and gets worried. Cian never cries.

She joins Katsuki in the kitchen as he cooks. “Where’s Fiona?” She asks.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki nods and gives Rowan a small smile. "Don't worry, I'll make sure we have plenty to eat," he says as he begins to gather ingredients from the fridge and pantry.

At Rowan's question about Fiona, his expression darkens slightly. "Your brother took her to the hospital last night, remember? She's still there."

He then turns back to the stove, feeling a sense of unease in the pit of his stomach. He hopes Cian is okay, but he has a feeling that things aren't looking good.

Emmet//

“Oh yeah,” Rowan says softly as she sets the table for three. It's what she usually does, and she pauses. She wanted to set a place for Fiona even though she wasn't there.

Once Katsuki finishes cooking and the two are eating, Cian wakes up. He sits at the table, and takes a deep breath. He’s quiet but says a small thank you to Katsuki, and Rowan looks worried about Cian.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki nods in acknowledgement of Cian's thanks, watching as the other man eats with a quiet determination. He can sense the grief and sadness emanating from him, but he knows that sometimes people need to grieve in their own way.

Rowan looks at Cian with concern in her eyes, wanting to do something to make him feel better but not sure how. She takes a deep breath before speaking up. "Dynamight, can we go visit Fiona today?" she asks, her voice soft.

Katsuki nods. "Of course. I'll drive us to the hospital," he says, knowing that he wants to be there for Cian and his family through this difficult time.

Cian's face remains impassive, but Katsuki can see the gratitude in his eyes. He knows that they don't have much time left with Fiona, and he wants to make sure they make the most of it.

Emmet//

Cian finished his food in silence, and they went to Katsuki’s car. He appreciated the other for making time for them even though they had only known each other for so long. On the ride to the hospital, Cian is quiet but Rowan is talking about how amazing Katsuki is as a hero.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki keeps his focus on the road, occasionally casting a glance over at Cian to check on him. He can see the sadness and grief etched into his features, and he wishes there was something more he could do to ease his pain.

He listens to Rowan's chatter with a small smile, happy to see that she's not too weighed down by what's happening. He nods along as she talks about his hero work, but his mind is still on Cian and Fiona.

After what feels like hours, they arrive at the hospital. Katsuki leads them up to Fiona's room, where they find her resting quietly in the bed. Cian walks over to her side and takes her hand, and Katsuki can see the tears glistening in his eyes.

Rowan stands beside them both, watching her sister with a mixture of sadness and love. Katsuki stands back a little, giving them space to be with Fiona in these final moments.

Emmet//

Fiona smiles softly at Cian and Rowan. Hugging her siblings. She looks sort of okay but she looks sickly.

Cian and Rowan stay by her side as Fiona slowly takes a turn for the worse.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki stands back, giving the family their space to say their goodbyes to Fiona. He can see the pain etched into Cian and Rowan's faces as they stay by her side during her final moments.

As Fiona begins to slip away, Katsuki moves closer to them, placing a hand on Cian's shoulder as he hears Fiona take her final breath.

He watches as the siblings break down into tears, holding onto each other and crying over the loss of their sister. It breaks his heart to see them in such pain, but he knows that sometimes grief is necessary to start the healing process.

Katsuki stays there with them for hours, offering comfort and support as they come to terms with their loss. In the end, he knows that nothing can make up for the pain they're feeling, but he hopes that his presence gave them some measure of comfort in these dark moments.

Emmet//

They leave the hospital after Cian gets everything sorted out with the hospital. He thanks them, and they get inside the apartment. Cian watches Rowan rush to her room, and then he looks at Katsuki.

“Thank you for being there. You didn't have to be, and I appreciate it.” Cian tells Katsuki in a soft, grateful voice.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki nods, looking at Cian with a mixture of empathy and sadness. "Of course," he says quietly. "I know what it's like to lose someone you care about. I just wanted to be there for you and your family in any way I could."

He then gives Cian a small smile. "If there's anything else you need from me, don't hesitate to ask. I'm here for you, man."

Emmet//

“Thank you, Katsuki. I appreciate it.” Cian says and steps forward and brings Katsuki into a hug.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki steps into the hug, feeling the gratitude and sadness emanating from Cian. He holds onto him tightly, letting him know that he's there for him in any way he needs.

After a few moments, they release each other. Katsuki meets Cian's gaze with a small smile. "Take care of yourself, okay? And if you need anything, even just someone to talk to, I'm here."

With those words, Katsuki turns to leave, knowing that sometimes the best thing you can offer someone is your presence and support.

Emmet//

A few weeks pass, and Kirishima, a friend of Katsuki’s since high school, visits his apartment. “Whoa, man, you have a nice place, and it's clean too!” Kirishima says to Katsuki.

Cian and Rowan havent interacted with Katsuki since Fiona passed.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki turns to Kirishima with a grin. "Thanks, man. I try to keep it tidy," he says, gesturing around the apartment.

He then notices the somber tone in Kirishima's voice and furrows his brows. "Is everything okay?" he asks, sensing that something is on his friend's mind.

Emmet//

Kirishima takes a deep breath before speaking up. "I was wondering about Cian and Rowan. Have you talked to them since Fiona passed?" he asks, his voice laced with concern. He remembers when Katsuki told him about his neighbors, and he knows his friend has been worried about Cian and Rowan.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki's expression darkens slightly at Kirishima's question, and he lets out a sigh. "No, I haven't seen or heard from them since everything happened," he admits, feeling a sense of sadness at the thought.

"I've tried reaching out a few times, but they haven't responded. I don't want to push them if they need their space, but it's been weeks now..." He trails off, unsure of what else to say.

Emmet//

Kirishima nods sympathetically. "I get it, man. Losing someone like that is hard on everyone involved. But maybe it wouldn't hurt to check up on them again. Let them know you're still here for them." Kirishima suggests to Katsuki. “Besides, you talk about Cian, a bunch after you used your resources to find out more about him.” He adds.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki nods, knowing that Kirishima's right. He's worried about Cian and Rowan, and he wants to make sure they're okay.

"Yeah, you're right," he says with a small smile. "I'll give them a call and see if they want to hang out or something. Thanks for kicking my butt and reminding me to check in on them."

With that, Katsuki pulls out his phone and dials Cian's number, hoping that he'll pick up this time around.

Emmet//

Cian’s voice is rough and strained when he answers the phone. “Hello?” Cian says into the phone.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki's heart sinks at the sound of Cian's voice, feeling a sense of empathy for the pain he knows he's going through.

"Hey, Cian, it's Katsuki," he says, trying to keep his voice gentle and understanding. "I was just checking in on you and Rowan. How are you doing?"

Emmet//

Cian hears Katsuki, and he is about to respond when someone yells his name.

“Thanks for checking in, Katsuki. We’re fine. I’m sorry, but I have to go.” Cian tells Katsuki, and the line goes dead.

Kirishima looks at Katsuki. “Everything okay, man?” Kirishima asks Katsuki as he sees how the other isn't satisfied with Cian’s answer.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki shakes his head, feeling a sense of frustration and worry. "No, it's not. Cian sounded really rough, and he hung up on me before I could say anything else," he says, his tone laced with concern.

He then turns to Kirishima, feeling a sense of helplessness settle in. "I don't know what else to do. I want to be there for them, but they keep pushing me away."

He runs a hand through his spiky hair, feeling a sense of heaviness settle in. He knows that he can't force someone to talk about their emotions, but he wishes there was some way he could help Cian and Rowan through this difficult time.

Emmet//

“I don't know man. That sounds tough.” Kirishima says softly. “Isn't Cian older than us?” He asks Katsuki in a soft voice.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki nods, his expression somber. "Yeah, he is. I think he's around 30 or so," he says, feeling a sense of sadness at the thought of someone losing a sibling at such a young age.

He takes a deep breath, then turns back to Kirishima. "I just wish there was something I could do to help. They've been going through so much lately, and I don't want them to feel like they're alone."

He then gives his friend a small smile, trying to shake himself out of his negative mindset. "But you know what? I'll keep trying to reach out to them. Maybe they just need some time to process everything, but I'll be here for them when they're ready to talk."

Emmet//

Kirishima nods at what Katsuki says. “Yeah keep trying to reach out to them and see what you can do for them,” Kirishima tells Katsuki.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki nods, feeling a sense of determination settling in. "Yeah, I will. Thanks, man," he says, turning to Kirishima with a small smile.

The two friends then continue catching up, talking about their hero work and just shooting the breeze. Katsuki tries to push the worry about Cian and Rowan to the back of his mind, hoping that everything will work out okay in the end.

Emmet//

A month passes, and Rowan knocks on Katsuki’s door one day. She is in her winter middle school uniform.

“Um… Can you help me?” Rowan asks Katsuki as she swallows. Her hair had gotten longer, almost to Fiona’s length when Fiona passed.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki looks up in surprise as he hears the knocking, then opens the door to see Rowan standing before him. He takes note of her uniform and the length of her hair, feeling a sense of sadness and empathy at the thought of everything she's been through.

"Of course, Rowan, what's going on?" he asks, trying to keep his voice gentle and understanding. "Do you want to come inside and talk about it?"

He steps aside to let her in, then leads her to the living room and offers her a seat. "What can I help you with?" he asks, his tone soft and caring.

Emmet//

“Can you help Cian, please?” Rowan begs Katsuki as she sits on his couch. “He… He has been distant with me. He still cares for me and takes care of things. He’s buried in his work, though, and he’s just… I noticed there were beer bottles in the trash. He’s being self-destructive.” Rowan says in a soft, trembling voice.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki looks at Rowan with a sense of sadness and concern, hearing the worry in her voice. He can see the pain etched into her features, and he knows that losing Fiona has been hard on both of them.

"Of course I'll help, Rowan," he says gently, his expression softening. "Tell me what you need from me."

He then listens to her talk about Cian, feeling a sense of empathy and understanding for what he's going through. He knows all too well how easy it can be to fall into self-destructive behaviors when dealing with grief and loss.

"I'll talk to him, Rowan," he says firmly, his gaze meeting hers. "I'll do whatever it takes to make sure he's okay. And I'll be here for both of you if you ever need anything."

With those words, Katsuki stands up and heads towards his door. "Let me go talk to him now," he says, his tone resolute. "Stay here, and know that everything's going to be okay."

Emmet//

Rowan grabs Katsuki’s wrist. “He isn’t home right now. He’s at work. I was going to stay at a friend's house tonight. He should be home tonight.” Rowan says to Katsuki as she looks up at him.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki nods, understanding the situation. "Okay, I'll talk to him when he gets home," he says, his tone reassuring.

He then places a hand on Rowan's shoulder, giving her a small smile. "You don't have to worry, Rowan. I'll make sure Cian's okay."

With that, Katsuki sets off to come up with a plan to help his neighbor, feeling a sense of determination settling in. He knows that he can't force someone to deal with their emotions, but he wants to make sure that Cian knows he's there for him and offer whatever help he can.

Emmet//

Cian was home later that night. He was messing with his keys while trying to get inside his apartment. He hears Katsuki’s door open but doesn't look at him. He looks exhausted.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki steps out of his apartment, noticing Cian as he fumbles with his keys. He notes the exhaustion etched into Cian's features and senses a sinking feeling in his heart. He knows that Cian is going through a rough time.

"Hey, Cian," he calls out softly, approaching him slowly. "How are you doing?"

He takes note of the beer bottles in Cian's hands, feeling a sense of worry at what they might indicate. However, he tries not to show it, knowing that getting confrontational with Cian won't help the situation.

Emmet//

Cian’s eyes flick up to look at Katsuki briefly. He furrows his brow when the other speaks, and he looks back down. He knows Katsuki was there when Fiona passed, but he didn't want to burden the other. He grips the beer bottles in his hands a little better.

“I’m doing fine. How are you?” Cian asks him, and his voice is rough. It’s hoarse and strained.

katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki watches as Cian looks up briefly, then shifts his gaze back to the ground. He can tell that Cian is struggling, and he wishes he could do something to ease the pain.

"I'm doing okay," he says with a small smile, stepping closer to Cian. "But that's not what matters right now. I'm more concerned about how you're doing."

He then pauses for a moment, sensing the tension in the air. "Look, Cian, I know things have been really tough lately. Losing Fiona was devastating, and I can't even imagine how hard it must be for you and Rowan," he says softly, his tone full of empathy.

He then motions to the beer bottles in Cian's hands. "But drinking isn't going to make things better, man. I know it's easy to fall into self-destructive behaviors when dealing with grief, but you have to take care of yourself too."

Cian pauses in, trying to open his front door as he listens to Katsuki. He scowls a little as Katsuki speaks. He looks at the beer bottles in his hand and then back at Katsuki.

“Aren't you like in your early twenties?” Cian asks Katsuki.

Katsuki raises an eyebrow at Cian's question, feeling a slight pang of annoyance at the dismissive tone. However, he takes a deep breath and tries to keep his cool.

"Yeah, so what if I am? I'm still a pro hero, and that means I've seen my fair share of tough situations, including loss," he says firmly, his tone steady. "And I know that drinking when you're struggling isn't going to solve anything."

He then steps closer to Cian, looking at him earnestly. "Please, Cian. I'm not trying to judge you or tell you how to live your life. But I care about you and Rowan, and I don't want to see you hurting yourself even more."

Cian hears what he says, and he wants to yell at the other. He wants to punch him hard, but he stops himself. He watches Katsuki step closer to him, and he swallows. How did he even manage to get Katsuki like a sponge on him? He doesn't want to be a burden to him.

“I don't want to burden you. Just… Leave me alone.” Cian says to Katsuki as he finally manages to get his front door open and he goes in but leaves his door open behind him.

Katsuki nods, sensing Cian's frustration and pain. He knows that getting too confrontational with Cian won't help the situation, but he still has to make sure that he's okay.

"I understand, Cian. But know that you're not alone, and I'm here for you if you ever need anything," he says softly, watching as Cian disappears into his apartment.

As Cian leaves the door open behind him, Katsuki feels a sense of hesitation, then takes a step forward towards the open doorway. "Look, I know you're going through a lot right now. If you ever need anything, just let me know, okay?" he calls out into the apartment, hoping that Cian hears him.

He then turns and makes his way back into his own apartment, hoping that he made some small impact in helping Cian through this difficult time.

A few days pass, and Izuku looks up when Katsuki approaches him. “Oh, hello, Kacchan. Something on your mind?” Izuku asks Katsuki as he tilts his head.

Katsuki nods, feeling a sense of nervousness settling in. He knows that talking to Izuku about personal matters isn't easy for him, but he feels like he needs someone to confide in.

"Yeah, I have something on my mind," he says, taking a deep breath. "It's about Cian and Rowan. They've been going through a tough time lately, and I'm worried about them."

He then proceeds to tell Izuku about Cian's self-destructive behavior and Rowan's worries, hoping that his friend might have some insight or advice on how to help them.
