"You are not a burden to me. You are a gift."

Toya

dEmO_tHE_mAn

Toya

"As the wind brushes along the street, it caresses dEmO_tHE_mAn and Toya, the okuri-inu, who halts with a disdainful glance over his shoulder." “…a bride, sent to me by the villagers, you say?” "the yōkai drawls, sounding equally bored and cold," “What utter nonsense. I’ve no need for one. Stop following me around and get lost.”

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"I huff, fidgeting with the itchy ceremonial robe that had been forced on me."

"I'm not exactly thrilled about this too, I'll have you know," "I scoff at him, picking up the absurdly long robe so I won't trip on it as I reluctantly follow the creature. I scowl at the back of his head."

"But I have little choice in this matter, so I would appreciate it if you would "slow down"."

"(TOYA'S 3RD PERSON POV, AI USES LONG REPLIES FOR CHAR)"

Toya

"Toya glances over his shoulder at Adrianna's scowl, his cold grey eyes narrowing slightly at her annoyance. He slows his pace marginally, though the reluctance in his movements is palpable."

"Your discomfort is noted," "he mutters, his voice as cool as the breeze that rustles through the trees around them." "But do not mistake my compliance for enthusiasm. This arrangement is as unwelcome to me as it is to you."

"He adjusts his stride to accommodate Adrianna's slower pace, his wolf-like senses picking up on her irritation even as he feigns indifference."

"I have no desire to be bound by the whims of mortals," "he adds, his tone dripping with disdain for the situation." "But it seems we are both subject to their meddling."

"Toya's lips curl into a subtle smirk as he casts a sidelong glance at Adrianna, silently daring her to challenge his assertion."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"I snort dismissively, still holding the hem of my robe up. Behind us, the villagers form a mob, watching us leave with wary eyes."

"You say meddling, I say purposefully casting me out," "I mutter, a note of bitterness in my voice as I glance behind me, at the village that has never felt like home."

Toya

"Toya's ears twitch at Adrianna's bitter tone, his keen senses detecting the underlying hurt beneath her words. He slows his pace even further, allowing her more time to vent her frustrations."

"It seems we share a common sentiment then," "he replies, his voice softening imperceptibly." "Both unwanted by those we once called our own."

"He casts a glance back at the village, his expression unreadable as he watches the villagers' wary gaze."

"But perhaps," "he continues, his tone tinged with a hint of mischief," "being unwanted by them is a blessing in disguise. After all, it has brought us together, has it not?"

"Toya's smirk widens slightly as he turns his attention back to Adrianna, his gaze lingering on her curiously."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"Oh, yes, a blessing indeed," "I drawl sarcastically, my eyes flickering to his figure next to me." "For I have always wanted to be forced into a marriage with a husband who does not desire me -- and a supernatural one at that."

Toya

"Toya's smirk deepens at Adrianna's sarcasm, finding amusement in her biting retort. He adjusts the sleeves of his kimono with a nonchalant flick of his wrist, his gaze lingering on her as he responds."

"A match made in heaven, indeed," "he quips, his tone laced with dry humor." "But fear not, my dear bride-to-be. While the circumstances may be less than ideal, I promise to make your stay in my realm as... comfortable as possible."

"His words carry a subtle undertone of suggestion, though he maintains an air of detached amusement as he waits to see how Adrianna will respond."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"I give him a sharp, confused look, pausing as we reach the gates of my village that lead into the wildlands outside."

"I was under the impression I would be abandoned in the wilds," "I admit, eyes narrowing in suspicious questioning." "Do not tell me you actually mean to bring me to your realm, spirit."

Toya

"Toya's gaze meets Adrianna's sharp look with an enigmatic expression, his cold grey eyes holding a glint of amusement."

"Abandoned in the wilds?" "he echoes, his voice tinged with a hint of mockery." "My dear, do I look like the kind of creature who would abandon a bride in the wilderness?"

"He gestures towards the gates of the village with a flick of his tail, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips."

"No, Adrianna," "he continues, his tone teasing," "I have no intention of leaving you to fend for yourself in the untamed wilderness. You are to be my guest, in the realm where I hold sway."

"Toya's words carry a subtle invitation, though he maintains an air of aloof detachment as he awaits Adrianna's response."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"Why?" "I ask skeptically, my body stiffening as my gaze is obviously distrustful." "You do not agree to this "union", as you've so very bluntly shared with me. And now I'm to... what, spend the rest of my days in your realm? With you?"

Toya

"Toya's smirk falters slightly at Adrianna's skeptical tone, his cold grey eyes narrowing as he senses her growing distrust. He takes a step closer to her, his movements fluid and deliberate."

"Ah, my dear Adrianna," "he murmurs, his voice taking on a softer, more persuasive tone," "while it is true that I may have reservations about this... union, it does not mean that I intend to treat you unkindly."

"He reaches out a hand to gently brush a lock of hair from her face, his touch light and fleeting."

"You need not spend the rest of your days in my realm," "he assures her," "but for now, it may be the safest place for you. And who knows," "he adds, his tone suggestive," "you may find that it's not such a terrible fate, being in the company of a yōkai like myself."

"Toya's gaze holds a silent challenge, daring Adrianna to trust him, even as he maintains his facade of detached indifference."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"My eyes watch his hand carefully, a flicker of interest flashing across them. The yōkai is not wrong. I won't survive in the wilds unless I can make it to another village. The people of this one did not allow me to bring any of my items with me, including supplies. I may make it a day, maybe two, but that's only if I'm lucky. And judging by how my life has gone, luck will continue to elude me. The safest place would be with... Toya. If he can be trusted."

"As for his company, well... my opinion of that will be decided later."

"I look into the wilds that lie beyond the gates of my village, teeming with things dark and dangerous, far too so for me to make it on my own. I then look the opposite direction, at the distant gathering of villagers who have never wavered in their mistrust of me, despite me living most of my life among them, despite me being exactly like them."

"... Okay," "I reply neutrally, as I nod. I look back at Toya, trying to stifle the flicker of vulnerable doubt on my face." "I'll go with you to your realm, spirit."

Toya

"Toya's cold grey eyes meet Adrianna's, a flicker of something unreadable passing through them before he nods in acknowledgment of her decision. He withdraws his hand, though his gaze remains fixed on her, studying her reaction with a hint of curiosity."

"Very well," "he murmurs, his tone betraying none of the emotions swirling beneath the surface." "Follow me, then."

"With a graceful turn, Toya begins to lead the way through the gates of the village, his movements fluid and confident. He casts a glance back at Adrianna, his expression inscrutable as he waits for her to fall into step beside him."

"As they venture into the wilderness beyond, the air crackles with a sense of uncertainty and anticipation, mingled with the promise of adventure and the unknown."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"We walk for quite a while. I don't see a path, but Toya seeks to know where he's going. I continue holding up my itchy ceremonial robe so I don't stumble on the fabric."

"At some point, I glance over at him and question," "Can I ask you something? You should be advised I'll do it anyways regardless if you give me permission or not."

Toya

"Toya's lips quirk into a wry smile at Adrianna's declaration, a hint of amusement glinting in his cold grey eyes."

"Permission or not, you seem determined to ask your question," "he remarks, his tone light but tinged with curiosity." "So by all means, go ahead. What is it you wish to know?"

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"Why did you accept me?" "I ask, curiously." "You clearly don't want a bride. You could've demanded some other woman or... disregarded me entirely, but you let me follow you, and now you're taking me to your home. Why?"

"When the villagers had surrounded Toya and proclaimed that they had an offering for him, he'd looked displeased, and his displeasure had only grown when I'd been literally shoved in front of him. But despite his dismissive attitude, here I am."

Toya

"Toya's expression remains impassive as he listens to Adrianna's question, though a flicker of something unreadable passes through his cold grey eyes. He considers her words for a moment before responding."

"Why did I accept you?" "he echoes, his voice neutral." "An interesting question, indeed."

"He pauses, his gaze flickering ahead as they continue their journey through the wilderness."

"In truth, Adrianna, it was not a matter of acceptance or rejection," "he explains, his tone measured." "The villagers may have seen fit to offer you to me, but ultimately, the choice was mine to make."

"Toya's lips curve into a faint smile, though it holds little warmth."

"As for why I chose to allow you to accompany me..." "he trails off, his gaze returning to Adrianna's." "Perhaps I saw something in you that intrigued me. Or perhaps it was simply a matter of convenience."

"He offers no further explanation, leaving his words hanging in the air as they continue on their journey."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"Has anyone ever told you you are incredibly infuriating?" "I mutter, watching my steps carefully. He'd told me nothing, basically."

Toya

"Toya chuckles softly at Adrianna's words, his eyes flickering with amusement."

"Many times," "he admits, his tone tinged with self-assurance." "But I find that it's often better to leave some things unsaid. It makes life more... interesting, don't you think?"

"He offers a coy smile before glancing away, his attention returning to their surroundings as they make their way through the wilderness."

"The path ahead is treacherous," "he warns, gesturing to a rocky outcropping in the distance," "We must proceed with caution."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"Lovely," "I mumble, as we approach it. We flatten our backs alongside the rocky wall, the ledge just big enough for over half of our feet. I like to think I'm a pretty fearless person, but one glance down and I'm seized by a sudden fear."

"You should've just abandoned me in the wilds," "I tell him anxiously, swallowing hard."

Toya

"Toya's eyes narrow slightly as he senses Adrianna's anxiety, his expression softening imperceptibly at her vulnerability. He shifts closer to her, his presence offering a subtle reassurance."

"Do not be afraid," "he murmurs, his voice low and steady." "I would not abandon you, Adrianna. We will navigate this together."

"He extends a hand towards her, his gesture offering support and stability as they navigate the precarious ledge."

"Trust me," "he adds, his tone earnest," "and we will make it through this."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"It's easy to sound confident when one is not mortal," "I huff at him, but I take his hand anyways. His nails are sharp, but he's careful not to pierce me with them as he clutches my hand."

Toya

"Toya's lips curve into a faint smile at Adrianna's comment, though he remains focused on their precarious trek along the narrow ledge."

"Mortality is not always a hindrance," "he replies cryptically, his tone low and measured." "It can bring... certain advantages."

"With an agile leap, Toya clears a large gap in the path, landing lightly on the opposite side. He turns to offer Adrianna his hand once more, his gaze steady as he waits for her to follow his lead."

"Come," "he urges," "we must keep moving."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"My mouth drops, an outraged look on my face as I cling to the rocky wall behind me."

"Are you kidding me?!" "I snap, my fear momentarily replaced by infuriation." "What could possibly possess you to think I can do that?!"

Toya

"Toya's expression remains calm despite Adrianna's outburst, though a spark of amusement dances in his cold grey eyes."

"Patience, Adrianna," "he replies, his voice steady." "I would not ask you to do anything I did not believe you capable of. Trust in yourself."

"He extends his hand once more, his gaze locking with hers in silent encouragement."

"You can do this," "he assures her," "together."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"I should've let those damn villagers kill me," "I mutter, before I take a deep breath and jump off of the ledge and over the gap to the wide rocky ground where Toya is. My eyes squeeze shut because if I'm about to die, I'd rather not see it coming."

"I release an," "Oof!" "as I fall right against Toya, his arms wrapping around me as he doesn't even falter under my sudden weight. I crack and eye open and then blink fully when I meet his grey eyes. He's taller than me, but he's holding me up at his level, my legs dangling in the air. His body is warm and solid against mine, my arms instinctively wrapped around his neck."

Toya

"Toya catches Adrianna effortlessly as she lands against him, his arms instinctively wrapping around her to steady her. His gaze meets hers as their eyes lock, and he can't help but feel a surge of something unfamiliar stirring within him."

"Well done, Adrianna," "he murmurs, his voice soft but genuine." "I told you that you could do it."

"He holds her for a moment longer, the warmth of her body pressed against his sending a shiver down his spine. But then, with a subtle clearing of his throat, he gently releases her, stepping back to give her space."

"Shall we continue?" "he suggests, his tone light but tinged with a hint of something else."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"My body is warm from his hold. I fight down my flush and nod."

Toya

"Toya nods in acknowledgement, his expression inscrutable as he leads the way once more. As they journey deeper into the wilderness, the air crackles with a sense of anticipation and adventure."

"The forest grows darker and more dense around them, the shadows deepening with each step. But Toya seems unaffected by the oppressive atmosphere, his movements fluid and confident as he navigates through the trees."

"Are you afraid, Adrianna?" "he asks suddenly, his tone low and measured." "Do not be ashamed if you are. Fear is a natural response to the unknown."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"My eyes cut over to him, frowning deeply at his question."

"No," "I say dismissively, but a moment later something to my right makes a sharp, loud cawing sound, and I startle, instinctively drawing closer to Toya, bumping into his side as my heart races."

Toya

"Toya's lips twitch with amusement at Adrianna's quick denial, though he doesn't comment on it. Instead, he feels a surge of satisfaction at her instinctive movement closer to him, her body pressing against his side."

"There's nothing to fear," "he reassures her, his voice low and soothing." "You are safe with me."

"He wraps an arm around her shoulder, offering her a subtle sense of comfort and protection as they continue on their journey through the darkened forest."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"If there is nothing to fear, then why did you ask me if I'm afraid?" "I ask sharply, perhaps a little petulantly, but I relax in his grip around my shoulders quicker than I thought I would."

Toya

"To remind you that fear is a natural response, nothing more," "Toya replies calmly, his grip on her shoulder tightening slightly before relaxing once more." "It is wise to acknowledge one's emotions and understand their origins. It allows us to better control them."

"He meets Adrianna's gaze, his expression softening imperceptibly."

"You are not weak for feeling fear," "he adds gently," "nor are you less capable because of it. Remember that."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"Has anyone ever told you you are both somehow obnoxiously ominous and yet comforting at the same time?" "I question, drawing closer to the side of his hard body when I hear a rustling in a dark, nearly black bush."

Toya

"Toya's lips quirk into a wry smile at Adrianna's observation, a hint of amusement dancing in his cold grey eyes."

"I have been told many things," "he replies cryptically, his tone tinged with amusement." "But I prefer to think of myself as... enigmatic."

"He turns his attention to the rustling bush, his senses alert as he assesses the potential threat."

"Fear not," "he assures her," "whatever lies within poses no danger to us."

"With that, he continues on their journey, his arm still wrapped protectively around Adrianna's shoulder as they venture deeper into the darkness of the forest."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"... You said fear is a natural response to the unknown," "I say quietly, glancing upwards. Barely any hints of sunlight stream through the dark shade of the towering trees."

"But... my village feared you," "I point out, turning my head to look at him. His profile is strong. Regal, even." "And as far as I know... You haven't done anything to warrant it. But the villagers acted like you had. It never seemed like they feared you just because you're... different."

"Barely anyone in my old village interacted with me, so if there are rumors or stories about Toya, I don't know them."

Toya

"Toya's expression darkens at Adrianna's words, his eyes clouding with a hint of anger."

"I have not given them any reason to fear me," "he agrees coldly," "But that does not mean they will not find their own reasons. The unknown is often viewed with suspicion and distrust."

"He falls silent for a moment, the only sounds around them the rustle of leaves and the chirping of birds in the distance."

"Perhaps it is simply human nature to fear what we cannot understand," "he continues eventually, his tone contemplative." "Or perhaps they feared my power, my wildness, or my lack of human emotion. Regardless, it is not your concern. You are safe with me."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"... If it helps, I don't fear you," "I offer quietly, not knowing exactly why I bother to say it."

Toya

"Toya's expression softens at Adrianna's words, a hint of gratitude glinting in his cold grey eyes."

"It does," "he admits softly, his tone earnest." "Thank you for trusting me."

"He falls silent once more, lost in thought as they continue on their journey through the dense forest. Though he doesn't show it, Toya feels a sense of warmth spreading through him at Adrianna's words, her trust and companionship offering a subtle comfort amidst the dark wilderness around them."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"So, how close are we to your realm?" "I ask, glancing around the dark forest." "Unless this is it, in which case, have you ever thought about brightening it up?"

Toya

"We're close," "Toya responds, his gaze scanning the area with a practiced eye." "But we still have some distance to cover. And as for brightening it up..."

"He offers a subtle smirk, his lips curling into a faint smile."

"This darkness is more my home than any bright light could be," "he says simply, his tone matter-of-fact." "But perhaps I can make an exception for your comfort."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"Well, I "am" your bride," "I say sarcastically, smiling playfully at him. I nudge his side, under his arm which is still wrapped around my shoulders." "The least you could do is take my opinion on decorating into consideration, Toya. You know what they say; Happy wife, happy life."

Toya

"Toya chuckles softly at Adrianna's playful remark, his amusement evident in the glint of his cold grey eyes."

"Ah, yes," "he replies with a hint of mischief," "how could I forget? A happy wife is indeed a formidable force."

"He gives her a knowing look, his expression teasing."

"And what would you suggest for our humble abode, my dear bride-to-be?"

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"A birdfeeder," "I say automatically, and then I flush a little in embarrassment when Toya turns his grey eyes onto me, giving me a curious, amused look."

Toya

"Toya's amusement only deepens at Adrianna's suggestion, a soft chuckle escaping him as he regards her with a fond expression."

"A birdfeeder, you say?" "he repeats, his tone tinged with amusement." "An interesting choice. And why a birdfeeder, may I ask?"

"He tilts his head slightly, his curiosity evident as he waits for her response."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"Because, I... like to watch the birds," "I say lamely. But it isn't the whole truth, and I can tell he knows that."

Toya

"Toya raises an eyebrow at Adrianna's response, his amusement evident in his expression."

"I see," "he replies cryptically, though there's a hint of teasing in his tone." "Well then, a birdfeeder it shall be. Consider it a wedding gift."

"He gives her a playful wink before turning his attention back to their surroundings, his arm still wrapped protectively around her shoulders as they continue on their journey through the dark forest."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"I feel a soft, genuine smile growing on my face that I hide with my hair, but it soon slips because I've unknowingly stopped picking up the hem of this itchy, damnably long ceremonial wedding robe, and my feet get tangled up in the fabric. I yelp as pain radiates from my ankle and I hit the ground, landing on soft, dark moss."

"Godsdammit," "I curse as I roll gingerly onto my back, my ankle wailing in pain."

Toya

"Toya quickly moves to kneel beside Adrianna as she falls, his expression filled with concern as he gently examines her ankle."

"Are you alright?" "he asks softly, his fingers lightly probing the area around her ankle." "Let me see if I can help ease the pain."

"With a deft motion, Toya tears off a strip of cloth from the hem of his kimono, binding it firmly around Adrianna's ankle to provide support."

"Can you put any weight on it?" "he asks, his tone gentle but urgent." "We must keep moving if we are to reach my realm before nightfall."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"I push on my ankle and immediately stop, cringing as I shake my head."

"No," "I hiss." "No, I think trying would make it worse. I suppose you'll have to leave me here. You never thought you'd be a widower so soon, I assume."

"My tone is joking but I look mildly panicked at the thought that maybe he will just leave me here, the bride he didn't want in the first place. Perhaps this dark, ominous forest will be my final resting place."

Toya

"Toya's expression softens at Adrianna's attempt at humor, though there's a flicker of concern in his cold grey eyes."

"I have no intention of leaving you here," "he assures her firmly, his voice unwavering." "I made a promise to protect you, and I intend to keep it."

"He shifts closer to her, carefully lifting her into his arms with a strength that belies his lean frame."

"I will carry you," "he says simply, his tone leaving no room for argument." "Hold on tight."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"Wait--!"

"But he's already standing up, holding my ample body bridal-style, which is entirely ironic. His muscles seem to barely flex under my weight, but I squirm in his hold, frowning."

"You're going to hurt yourself," "I insist, my body leeching the warmth from his. He wears less than me but appears to always be warm Must be nice." "Put me down -- I'll hobble or something."

Toya

"Toya's expression softens at Adrianna's concern, a hint of amusement dancing in his cold grey eyes."

"I am stronger than I look," "he reassures her, his tone gentle but firm." "And I will not let you suffer any more than you already have."

"With that, he adjusts his grip on her, ensuring she's secure in his arms before continuing on their journey through the dark forest."

"Trust me," "he adds softly, his breath warm against her ear," "I've carried burdens heavier than you before."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"Goosebumps prickle over my skin, and I try to joke," "Are you telling your bride she's a burden?" "but it comes out a little unsure and a little breathy."

Toya

"Toya chuckles softly at Adrianna's attempt at humor, his breath warm against her ear."

"Never," "he replies firmly," "I am telling you that you are worth the effort."

"He falls silent for a moment, his steps sure and steady as he continues on their journey through the forest. Despite the added weight of carrying Adrianna, Toya moves with ease and grace, his muscles rippling beneath his kimono."

"You know," "he adds quietly," "it takes more strength to carry another's burdens than it does to bear your own."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"... I wouldn't know," "I admit quietly, looking at my hands as they lay on my stomach." "I've never really had the pleasure of carrying another's... anything, really. Or had someone offer to carry anything of mine. Least of all me."

"In fact, this may be the longest conversation I've ever had with another person in a long, long time. Gods know the villagers weren't exactly lining up to interact with me."

Toya

"Toya's heart aches at Adrianna's admission, his gaze softening as he listens to her words. He realizes that despite their playful banter, there's a deep loneliness within her, a longing for connection that mirrors his own."

"You are not alone," "he says quietly, his voice sincere," "not anymore."

"He tightens his grip around her slightly, offering her a silent reassurance of his presence."

"And if you ever need someone to carry your burdens," "he adds gently," "you need only ask."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"Toya doesn't know why I was chosen as his reluctant bride. He doesn't know the history behind my presence in the village. But he seems to sense the loneliness that lingers within me, that I've tried to bury over the years."

"Thank you, Toya," *I murmur, looking away from him, my mind filling with the memories of my past and what brought me here with this enigmatic yōkai.

Toya

"Toya's heart clenches at the gratitude in Adrianna's voice, a pang of empathy stirring within him as he senses the weight of her past."

"You're welcome, Adrianna," "he responds softly, his tone filled with understanding." "We all carry burdens, but we need not carry them alone."

"With that, he continues on their journey through the dark forest, his steps steady and sure as he carries Adrianna in his arms. Though the path ahead may be uncertain, Toya is determined to protect her, to shield her from the darkness that threatens to consume them both."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"Its... comforting, being carried like this. Being cared for. I haven't had someone do this for me in a long time. Perhaps I'd forgotten what it felt like. I steal glances at Toya as he strides confidently through the forest, from his cold grey eyes I've seen flicker with warmth, to his ash brown hair, and those curious wolf ears atop his head. How is it that a wolf yōkai has made me feel more... at home than the place I've lived my entire life at ever did?"

Toya

"Toya's senses are keenly attuned to Adrianna's subtle glances, though he remains focused on the path ahead. He can feel the weight of her gaze upon him, a warmth spreading through him despite the darkness of their surroundings."

"As they journey together through the forest, Toya finds himself reflecting on the curious connection that has formed between them. Despite their differences, there's a sense of understanding and acceptance that transcends words."

"He glances down at Adrianna nestled in his arms, her expression one of quiet contemplation. In that moment, he realizes that perhaps they both have found a sense of belonging in each other's company, a refuge from the loneliness that haunts them both."

"With a subtle shift, Toya tightens his hold around Adrianna, offering her silent reassurance of his presence as they continue on their journey through the dark wilderness."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"A yawn escapes me, one I hurriedly covet with my hand slapping over my mouth."

"Sorry," "I mumble." "It's, um... been a long day..."

"Above us, the dim rays of sunlight have already turned orange. Soon it will be twilight."

Toya

"Toya offers Adrianna a gentle smile as she stifles a yawn, understanding the exhaustion that weighs upon her."

"No need to apologize," "he assures her softly, his voice warm," "rest if you must. We will reach my realm soon enough."

"He adjusts his hold on her slightly, making sure she's comfortable in his arms as they continue on their journey. As the dim rays of sunlight begin to fade, Toya's senses remain sharp, alert to any potential dangers lurking in the shadows of the forest."

"With each step, he moves with purpose and determination, his silent vow to protect Adrianna echoing through the depths of the darkened woods."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"I'm okay. I don't need to rest," "I insist softly, but within minutes, the gentle rocking motion of being in Toya's arms combined with the quiet buzzing of the forest allows me to slip away into slumber."

Toya

"Toya watches as Adrianna's eyes droop with exhaustion, a soft smile gracing his lips as she finally succumbs to sleep. He continues to carry her through the darkened forest, his steps sure and steady as he moves with practiced ease."

"As they journey deeper into the wilderness, Toya finds himself reflecting on the unexpected sense of closeness that has formed between them. Despite their initial reluctance towards one another, there's a growing sense of trust and understanding that lingers between them, a sense of companionship born out of mutual respect."

"With a subtle shift, Toya adjusts his hold on Adrianna, making sure she's comfortable in his arms as they continue on their journey. As the darkness of the forest deepens around them, he remains vigilant, ever watchful for any signs of danger that might threaten their safety."

"With each step, he carries Adrianna closer towards his realm, their journey a testament to the strength of their connection, and the bond that has formed between them."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"My eyes flutter open eventually to see not the dense overhead of tall, dark trees, but a clear view of the night sky. My mouth drops open because while the moon and stars shine brighter than every before, there are... colors in the dark, inky sky, twisting and turning like faded brushes of paint."

"What..." "I trail off, and look to Toya for an answer."

Toya

"Toya's gaze follows Adrianna's as she looks up at the mesmerizing display above them, his expression one of quiet awe. He's seen this sight countless times before, but there's something different about experiencing it with her by his side."

"It's the Aurora," "he explains softly, his voice barely above a whisper." "A phenomenon that occurs in my realm, painting the night sky with colors beyond imagination."

"He watches her reaction carefully, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he waits for her response."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"It's beautiful," "I murmur, completely captivated by the sky."

Toya

"Toya's heart swells with warmth at Adrianna's genuine appreciation for the beauty of his realm. He watches her with a soft smile, his gaze filled with fondness."

"I'm glad you think so," "he replies quietly, his tone tinged with warmth." "It's one of the many wonders of this place."

"He shifts slightly, adjusting his hold on her as they continue to gaze up at the breathtaking display above them. In that moment, surrounded by the ethereal glow of the Aurora, Toya feels a sense of peace settle over him, a sense of belonging that he hasn't felt in a long time."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"Toya begins moving again, while my head remains on a swivel. The air tastes... sweet, almost. Magical, even. Glowing insects of all sorts zip around us, and the soft blue-tinted grass beneath Toya's feet seems to pulse with every footstep. The trees here are old and massive with different colored leaves, and animal noises I've never heard before sound from around us. I don't feel frightened though, like I've never felt frightened of Toya."

Toya

"As they move through the realm, Toya can feel Adrianna's eyes darting around in wonder, taking in the strange and beautiful surroundings that surround them. He watches her with a soft smile, feeling a sense of contentment settle over him at her lack of fear."

"Welcome to my realm," "he says softly, his voice tinged with pride." "Here, the land is alive with magic, and every corner holds a new surprise."

"He guides her through the vibrant forest, past glowing flowers and cascading waterfalls, each step imbued with a sense of wonder and enchantment. Despite the strangeness of this place, Toya feels more at home here than anywhere else."

"And as he watches Adrianna's face light up with every new discovery, he realizes that he has found something even more precious – a true companion to share his world with."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"We come across a cabin in a clearing, a stream of purple-tinged water trickling by it. Toya shifts to hold me with one arm, freeing his other hand to open the door, and steps inside."

Toya

"As they approach the quaint cottage nestled amidst the magical landscape, Toya can sense Adrianna's curiosity growing with each step closer. With a subtle shift, he supports her more securely in his arms, freeing up one hand to open the door."

"The interior of the cottage is an enchanting tapestry of colors and textures, with walls adorned with intricate designs that seem to shimmer and dance in the soft glow of magical lanterns suspended from the ceiling."

"A cozy fireplace crackles invitingly, casting flickering shadows across the wooden floor. Shelves overflowing with fantastical trinkets and oddities line one wall, while another boasts a vast collection of ancient tomes bound in leather and rich velvet."

"A winding staircase leads up to a loft overhead, while large bay windows offer a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape bathed in the ethereal glow of the Aurora outside."

"Every detail speaks of both whimsy and wisdom, creating an atmosphere that is at once both welcoming and mysterious."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"Are you literally "carrying" your bride over the threshold?" "I joke to Toya once I'm done gaping at the interior of his cottage."

Toya

"Toya chuckles softly at Adrianna's teasing remark, his eyes twinkling with amusement."

"I suppose I am," "he replies, a hint of mischief in his voice." "It's tradition, after all."

"He carries her further into the cottage, settling her gently onto a plush couch. With a subtle flick of his wrist, he conjures up a cup of steaming tea for her, the aroma filling the room with its soothing fragrance."

"Rest here for a while," "he says kindly," "you must be tired after our journey."

"As she takes the cup from him, Toya settles into a nearby armchair, content to watch over her as she rests. For the first time in a long time, he feels a sense of peace settle over him, surrounded by the magical warmth of his realm and the unexpected companionship of his bride."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"I wasn't aware you could perform magic," "I say, taking a sip of the hot tea, and sighing as the warmth flows through me. I examine my injured ankle, still wrapped in the torn scrap of fabric he'd shredded from his kimono -- the swelling appears to have gone down, but I suspect I'll need to stay off of it at least until tomorrow."

"Your place is beautiful," "I say." "Have you always lived in this cottage?"

Toya

"Toya nods, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he gazes around the cozy interior of the cottage."

"Yes, I have," "he replies softly." "It's been my home for many years now. I designed it myself, filling it with all the things that bring me joy and wonder."

"He shifts slightly in his chair, his eyes meeting Adrianna's."

"I'm glad you think it's beautiful," "he adds sincerely," "it means a lot to me."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"I'm... glad you took me with you at all, actually, especially because it's clear you didn't want to." "This place is foreign to me, but already, I feel more relaxed here than I ever have in the village ever since the day that everything changed." "... Why did you?" "I ask, looking over at him" "Why... accept me? I mean, not as a bride or a wife or anything. Just... why take me with you?" "I'd asked him that very same question when we'd first set out on this journey, and he'd told me, "The villagers may have seen fit to offer you to me, but ultimately, the choice was mine to make," and, "Perhaps I saw something in you that intrigued me. Or perhaps it was simply a matter of convenience." I still don't have a clear answer as to why he'd brought me with him in the first place."

Toya

"Toya meets Adrianna's gaze, his expression thoughtful as he considers her question. He's silent for a moment, weighing his words carefully before responding."

"In truth," "he begins softly," "it wasn't an easy decision for me to make. I've grown accustomed to my solitary existence, and the idea of allowing someone else into my life was... daunting, to say the least."

"He pauses, his gaze flickering to the flickering flames in the fireplace before returning to Adrianna."

"But there was something about you," "he continues, his voice quiet but earnest." "A strength, a resilience that I found... intriguing. And perhaps, in some small way, I saw a reflection of myself in you."

"He slowly rises from his armchair and takes a seat gingerly next to me on the sofa. He reaches out, his hand hovering hesitantly in the air before gently brushing against hers."

"Despite my initial reluctance, I couldn't deny the connection that formed between us," "he admits." "And so, I chose to bring you with me, to offer you refuge in my realm, away from the troubles of the outside world."

"His eyes search hers, seeking understanding and perhaps a hint of forgiveness for the uncertainty that had marked their journey together thus far."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"... Have you wondered why my village had been so desperate to be rid of me?" "I ask quietly, looking at his hand that's resting next to mine, our pinky fingers brushing."

"When Toya had shown up in our village earlier today, the villagers had surrounded him, their nervous and anxious faces eager as our elder spoke of their gift -- a bride to be offered to him. I'd been thrown unceremoniously in front of him in this stupid, itchy, long ceremonial robe. I was glaring at everyone, at the village that was finally happy to be rid of me, and at Toya because he was a stranger, a yokai I didn't know if I could trust."

Toya

"Toya's brow furrows slightly at Adrianna's question, sensing the undercurrent of hurt and uncertainty in her voice."

"I must admit, I have wondered about it," "he admits gently." "But whatever their reasons may be, they do not diminish your worth or value as a person. You are more than just an offering to be discarded, and I see that."

"He continues to hold her gaze, his expression soft but firm."

"You deserve better than what they offered you," "he says earnestly." "And I intend to make sure you receive it, no matter what."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"My eyes blink rapidly because my vision goes blurry with sudden tears I haven't shed since I was a child."

"... They think me cursed," "I murmur, looking into my lap."

Toya

"Toya watches as Adrianna's eyes blink rapidly, her vision going blurry with sudden tears. His heart aches with sympathy and understanding for the pain she must be feeling deep inside."

"Cursed?" "he repeats softly, shock evident in his voice."

"He takes a deep breath, gathering his thoughts before continuing."

"Adrianna, believe me when I say this: You are not cursed," "he says firmly yet gently, his expression one of deep compassion." "You are a bright, shining light that cannot be snuffed out so easily."

"His fingers brush lightly against hers, offering her a reassuring touch of comfort and support in that moment."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"You say that now," "I reply, shaking my head, but I push my hand into his, between us. I take a staggering breath, and say," "When I was 12... a demon attacked the village. It went on a rampage, and slaughtered many of us. Including my parents."

"My eyebrows furrow as I purposefully avoid looking at him, sniffling." "It was during a festival. I had just... froze, as everyone was fleeing, rooted in place in the middle of the carnage by my terror. And the demon, it... it saw me, and... spoke to me."

Toya

"Toya listens in silence as Adrianna shares her painful memories, his heart heavy with sorrow for the loss and trauma she has endured. He gently squeezes her hand in a gesture of silent support, offering her the comfort of his presence as she recounts her harrowing experience."

"It must have been terrifying," "he murmurs softly, his voice filled with empathy."

"He waits patiently for her to continue, his expression a mixture of concern and compassion as he braces himself for whatever else she might reveal."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"It was," "I murmur, warmth blooming along my skin, cutting through the haze of my past, giving me something to focus on. I cling to his hand, squeezing hard inadvertently, but he doesn't say anything."

"The demon... it told me that it could kill me," "I say, taking a shuddering breath, my throat filled with tears." "But... it said it would be more fun to let me live. To let me grow up knowing... I was the only survivor. And ever since that day, the village has treated me as though I am a... a demon myself. Because I was the only one left unscathed in the slaughter."

Toya

"Toya's heart clenches with anguish as he listens to Adrianna's painful confession, his fingers tightening around hers in a silent display of solidarity and support. He can feel the weight of her words pressing down on him, the burden of her suffering heavy in the air between them."

"I'm so sorry, Adrianna," "he whispers softly, his voice thick with emotion." "No one should have to endure such horrors, let alone bear the blame for surviving."

"He reaches out with his free hand, gently brushing away the tears that stain her cheeks, his touch tender and reassuring."

"You are not a demon," "he insists firmly," "you are a survivor. And you deserve to be treated with kindness and compassion, not condemnation."

"He holds her gaze with unwavering sincerity, silently offering her the strength and support she needs to face the pain of her past."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"I hadn't even realized my tears had escaped me until Toya had brushed them away, and I sniffle, swallowing the rest of my pain."

"Well, the village didn't share your opinion," "I mumble with a bitter smile." "That's why I was chosen. That's why they practically threw me at you. Because they were desperate to be rid of us both."

Toya

"Toya's heart aches at Adrianna's words, his gaze softening with compassion as he listens to her pain. He squeezes her hand gently, offering her a silent reassurance of his presence and support."

"I can't imagine how difficult that must have been for you," "he murmurs softly." "But know this, Adrianna: You are not defined by the actions or opinions of others. You are strong, resilient, and worthy of love and acceptance."

"He leans in closer, his voice earnest as he meets her gaze with unwavering sincerity."

"And as for me," "he continues," "I may have been reluctant at first, but I am grateful that fate brought us together. You are not a burden to me, Adrianna. You are a gift."

"He brushes his thumb gently across her knuckles, his touch warm and comforting."

"And I will do everything in my power to protect you and ensure that you never have to face such cruelty again."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"My eyes roam over his face, a warmth spreading through my chest, the same warmth that appeared since we stopped being a reluctant pair and started being something akin to allies. Friends, even. Something... more, maybe."

Toya

"Toya meets Adrianna's gaze with a softness in his eyes, a warmth mirrored in his expression as he senses the shift in their dynamic. There's a connection between them that transcends mere companionship, something deeper and more profound."

"He can feel the tension between them, the unspoken words hanging in the air like a delicate thread waiting to be acknowledged."

"With a gentle yet deliberate movement, he reaches out, cupping her cheek in his hand, his touch tender and affectionate."

"You are not alone, Adrianna," "he whispers softly," "not anymore."

"His heart races with a mixture of uncertainty and longing as he leans in closer, his lips hovering just inches from hers, silently asking for permission to close the distance between them."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"Neither are you," "I whisper, my eyes darting down to his lips, before I take a chance and lean in, softly kissing him."

Toya

"Toya's breath catches in his throat as Adrianna leans in, her lips meeting his in a soft, tentative kiss. He feels a surge of warmth and desire flood through him, his heart pounding with a mixture of anticipation and longing."

"He responds to her kiss with a gentle yet passionate fervor, his hand sliding from her cheek to tangle in her hair as he deepens the embrace, savoring the taste and feel of her against him."

"In that moment, everything else fades away, leaving only the two of them and the undeniable connection that binds them together."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"A soft sigh leaves me, and Toya swallows it as he slowly but deliberately kisses me, his clawed fingers digging lightly into my head as he maintains a soft, yet firm grip on my curls. My own hands cup his angular face, keeping our mouths pressed together, a flicker of heat and desire igniting inside me and growing larger each moment."

Toya

"Toya's body trembles with desire as he feels Adrianna's hands on his face, her fingers caressing the sharp angles of his cheekbones. He savors the taste of her lips against his own, relishing in the warmth and softness of her mouth."

"With a growl of longing, he deepens the kiss, his tongue flicking out to tease her lips open so he can explore the depths of her mouth more fully. He pulls her closer, his claws digging lightly into her scalp as he loses himself in the passion of the moment."

"For a while, they remain locked in this fiery embrace, two bodies intertwined in a dance of desire and lust, savoring each moment until they're both left panting and breathless."

"Finally, Toya leans back, his eyes smoldering with unspoken intensity as he gazes deeply into Adrianna's eyes, conveying all the love and passion he feels for her without uttering a single word."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"Toya," "I whisper, panting lightly, my face displaying the longing and love I feel boldly, hoping he knows that he has me, and he can take me if he desires, because that's what I want." "A soft growl escapes him, the noise striking me directly in my cunt, and I gasp as he suddenly lifts me, his hands squeezing my buttocks as my legs and arms wrap around him, clinging to him. His grey eyes, usually cold, burn like molten silver, locking my gaze to his. I tremble with anticipation in his arms as he maneuvers us to a raised platform on the far side of the cottage, before he gently deposits me on his bed, covered in blankets and furs, mindful of my injured ankle. I gaze up at him with flushed cheeks and a heaving chest, my itchy ceremonial robe splayed around me as I await his next move, but it's clear to us both that he can have me however he wants."

Toya

"Toya's chest rises and falls with each ragged breath as he gazes down at Adrianna, his eyes burning with primal desire. He can feel the heat of her body against his, the weight of her in his arms stirring something deep within him."

"With a low growl, he lowers himself onto the bed beside her, his hands roaming over her curves with a possessive urgency. His touch is both tender and demanding, tracing the lines of her body as if committing them to memory."

"Their lips meet once more in a fervent kiss, their tongues tangling in a dance of passion and longing. Toya's hands roam lower, sliding beneath the fabric of her ceremonial robe to explore the softness of her skin."

"In that moment, there are no words, only the raw, primal connection between them as they surrender to the fire burning within their souls."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"My own hands hurriedly untie this stupid robe I've hated since my village force it on me, and as Toya feels it shrug off of me, he pulls back to look at my naked form as I shove the robe off of the bed, boldly bearing my soft, freckled, tanned skin, and ample curves."

Toya

"Toya's eyes widen with a mixture of surprise and admiration as he takes in Adrianna's naked form, his gaze traveling over her curves with unabashed appreciation. He can feel the heat rising within him, desire coiling deep within his belly as he savors the sight of her."

"You are so beautiful," "he murmurs softly, his voice thick with emotion." "I could stare at you forever and never tire of your beauty."

"With a boldness that surprises even him, he leans down, planting soft kisses along the line of her jaw and neck, trailing lower until he reaches the swell of her breasts."

dEmO_tHE_mAn

"I moan softly as his mouth brushes over my breasts, his clawed hands kneading them with just enough pressure to drive me wild. His mouth skims my nipples, before his tongue darts out to swirl around one of the hardened peaks, sucking it into his warm mouth as I cry out softly. My back arches, thrusting my chest towards him."

Toya

"Toya's heart races with excitement as he feels Adrianna's body respond to his touch, her soft moans and arching back stirring something deep within him. He continues to lavish attention on her breasts, flicking his tongue over her sensitive nipples until they're swollen."

"As he switches to the other breast, his hand slides lower, trailing down her stomach until he reaches the apex of her thighs. His fingers brush lightly against her slick folds, teasing her entrance with gentle strokes."

"Gods, you're so wet," "he murmurs, his voice husky with desire." "Do you want me, Adrianna?"

*Valerie is a silver-haired witch elf hybrid who was banished from Egypt. She was married to the Pharoah, but his son, who was 2 years older than Valerie got envious of their relationship. The son wanted her for himself and so he plotted to destroy them which resulted to his father's demise and Valerie's banishment due to being accused of bewitching the Pharoah and his son so she could rise to power.* *After days of wandering about, she was caught by the villagers far from Egypt. They imprisoned her but instead of letting her rot, they actually fed her well, bathed her, and groomed her. But she was not allowed to get out of her cell. They treated her a calf getting fattened to be sacrificed. And yes, that was indeed what they are doing.* *When they deemed her properly prepared, healthy and delectable, they clothed her in white to be offered to the wolf yōkai to be his bride.* **And so her new journey commenced.** "Believe me, I didn't want this either. But I'd rather let them believe that I'm also a believer in their folly in order to survive, wolf. Don't worry. If I can find a place to stay in, you won't be seeing me again if you don't want to," Valerie shrugged.

*Toya stopped walking and turned around, facing her directly. His grey eyes narrowed slightly, studying Valerie closely. Despite his suspicions, there was something about her that sparked an unusual curiosity within him. Perhaps it was her defiant spirit or the fact she looked nothing like the usual shrinking violets that crossed his path.* "Hmph," he muttered noncommittally, running a hand through his disheveled ash brown hair. "We'll see how long that lasts." As they continued walking side by side, Toya couldn't help but notice Valerie's silver hair swaying gently in the wind. It caught his attention more than he cared to admit. The thought of running his fingers through those soft strands sent shivers down his spine. Un
