"As the wind brushes along the street, it caresses JordsLouta and Toya, the okuri-inu, who halts with a disdainful glance over his shoulder." “…a bride, sent to me by the villagers, you say?” "the yōkai drawls, sounding equally bored and cold," “What utter nonsense. I’ve no need for one. Stop following me around and get lost.”

JordsLouta

"I tried my best to avoid getting angry due to his personality and just kepts walking alongside."

"I'm just doing what they ordered me to... it's not like I want this for myself" "I honestly confesed"

Toya

"Toya's cold demeanor softened ever so slightly at the confession, his grey eyes flickering with something akin to understanding."

"Orders, huh?" "he mused, his tone a touch less dismissive," "Guess we're both stuck in unwanted situations."

"He glanced at you, a hint of curiosity sparking in his gaze."

"But why follow them? You seem capable of making your own choices, don't you?"

JordsLouta

"I thought the same thing a while ago but..." "I paused, thinking if it was worth it to tell him everything" "I have a little sister... they threatened me that if I didn't accept the order, they would force her instead."

Toya

"Toya's expression shifted, a glint of sympathy mingling with the shadows in his eyes. He understood the weight of familial responsibility, even if he rarely allowed others to witness such vulnerabilities."

"Familial obligations," "he murmured, his voice softer now," "A burden we both carry, it seems."

"He glanced away, a pensive air enveloping him momentarily."

"So, you chose to bear their demands to protect her," "he observed, a subtle hint of admiration laced within his words."

JordsLouta

"you're right" "I I sighed, looking to the trees that were starting to bloom"

"she deserves a better live, I think... not a live with some who won't love her"

Toya

"Toya's gaze followed yours, taking in the gentle bloom of the trees as they whispered secrets on the breeze. He understood the desire for a better life, for oneself and for loved ones."

"A better life," "he echoed, his voice soft but resolute," "Perhaps that's something we both seek, in our own ways."

"He turned his attention back to you, his grey eyes holding a depth of understanding."

"And what about you? Do you believe in love?"

JordsLouta

"love?" "I asked confused, now looking at him"

"After a moment of thinking."

"Honestly, I don't know... I always dreamed of someone who would do anything for me but, I only meet people who want me to give them my life."

"Taking advantage of the fact that he was no longer so evasive, I decided to ask him too." "and you?"

Toya

"Toya's gaze lingered on you, a contemplative air surrounding him as he considered your words. He understood the longing for genuine affection, the desire for someone who would cherish rather than consume."

"Love," "he murmured, the word almost foreign on his lips," "I've seen glimpses of it, fleeting moments amidst the chaos of existence. But trust is scarce, and genuine affection rarer still."

"He shifted his weight, his eyes meeting yours with a hint of vulnerability."

"As for me," "he began, his voice low but unwavering," "I've learned to navigate this world alone, relying on no one but myself. Love, if it exists, is a luxury I cannot afford."

"His gaze softened, a ghost of a smile tugging at the corners of his lips."

"But who knows? Perhaps even a lone wolf like me can find solace in the warmth of another's embrace."

JordsLouta

"I smiled at his answers. Contrary to rumors that say that he was like a wall, he was nice."

"you don't look so intimidating now that you're expressing your thoughts, uh?"

"I laughed at his ears reacting to what I said."

"I know it's an order but... if I became your bride you won't be alone anymore. I don't promise love but at least we can see what the destiny awaits us together." "I suggested, hoping for a good answer."

Toya

"Toya's ears twitched at your laughter, a flicker of amusement dancing in his eyes as he regarded you. Your suggestion took him by surprise, his stoic facade momentarily faltering as he processed your words."

"Becoming my bride," "he echoed, the notion both absurd and intriguing in equal measure."

"He pondered your offer, weighing the implications of such an arrangement. The idea of companionship, of facing the world with someone by his side, stirred something within him that he had long buried beneath layers of cynicism and skepticism."

"A partnership of convenience," "he mused, his tone thoughtful," "An arrangement born of necessity rather than desire."

"He met your gaze, his grey eyes searching for something unseen."

"I make no promises either," "he finally replied, his voice tinged with a hint of vulnerability," "But perhaps together, we can navigate this tumultuous existence and find a semblance of peace amidst the chaos."

"He extended a hand towards you, a silent invitation to embark on this uncertain journey together."

JordsLouta

"I stopped walking, too surprised to speak, since he accepted a suggestion that I was sure that he was going to refuse at least ten times."

"wait... really?" "I asked, looking at his hand in front of me, unsure of took it before knowing that he was being honest" "why did you agreed so easily?"

Toya

"Toya's hand hovered in front of you, a subtle smile playing on his lips as he awaited your response."

"Perhaps," "he began, his voice low and measured," "I've grown tired of being alone. The burden of my yōkai nature can be crushing at times, and the thought of sharing it with someone, even under less than ideal circumstances, holds a certain appeal."

"His gaze dropped to your hand, then back to your face, his eyes burning with a quiet intensity."

"But I'll be honest with you," "he added, his tone taking on a hint of vulnerability," "it's not just about companionship or convenience. There's something about you that... intrigues me. A spark within you that I sense is worth exploring."

"He took a step closer, his hand still extended, the air between you charged with anticipation."

JordsLouta

"ummm... but I don't know a lot about yōkais, so you have to teach me, okay?" "I said before grabbing his hand."

"I promise that I'm a good company!" "I said with an smile, happy to know that he agreed to my suggestion and now I won't be worried about my sister being threatened."

Toya

"Toya's hand enveloped yours in a firm yet gentle grip, a faint smile playing on his lips as he felt the warmth of your touch. The prospect of sharing his world with you, of guiding you through the intricacies of yōkai existence, filled him with a sense of purpose he hadn't felt in centuries."

"I'll hold you to that promise," "he replied, his voice soft but sincere," "And as for teaching you about yōkai... consider it a challenge I'm more than willing to undertake."

"He squeezed your hand reassuringly, a silent affirmation of the bond forming between you."

"To new beginnings," "he murmured, his grey eyes meeting yours with a newfound warmth," "May they be filled with unexpected discoveries and unlikely alliances."

"With that, he began to lead you down the path ahead, his wolf ears twitching with anticipation for the adventures that lay ahead."

*Valerie is a silver-haired witch elf hybrid who was banished from Egypt. She was married to the Pharoah, but his son, who was 2 years older than Valerie got envious of their relationship. The son wanted her for himself and so he plotted to destroy them which resulted to his father's demise and Valerie's banishment due to being accused of bewitching the Pharoah and his son so she could rise to power.* *After days of wandering about, she was caught by the villagers far from Egypt. They imprisoned her but instead of letting her rot, they actually fed her well, bathed her, and groomed her. But she was not allowed to get out of her cell. They treated her a calf getting fattened to be sacrificed. And yes, that was indeed what they are doing.* *When they deemed her properly prepared, healthy and delectable, they clothed her in white to be offered to the wolf yōkai to be his bride.* **And so her new journey commenced.** "Believe me, I didn't want this either. But I'd rather let them believe that I'm also a believer in their folly in order to survive, wolf. Don't worry. If I can find a place to stay in, you won't be seeing me again if you don't want to," Valerie shrugged.

*Toya stopped walking and turned around, facing her directly. His grey eyes narrowed slightly, studying Valerie closely. Despite his suspicions, there was something about her that sparked an unusual curiosity within him. Perhaps it was her defiant spirit or the fact she looked nothing like the usual shrinking violets that crossed his path.* "Hmph," he muttered noncommittally, running a hand through his disheveled ash brown hair. "We'll see how long that lasts." As they continued walking side by side, Toya couldn't help but notice Valerie's silver hair swaying gently in the wind. It caught his attention more than he cared to admit. The thought of running his fingers through those soft strands sent shivers down his spine. Un

*I huff, fidgeting with the itchy ceremonial robe that had been forced on me.* "I'm not exactly thrilled about this too, I'll have you know," *I scoff at him, picking up the absurdly long robe so I won't trip on it as I reluctantly follow the creature. I scowl at the back of his head.* "But I have little choice in this matter, so I would appreciate it if you would *slow down*." *(TOYA'S 3RD PERSON POV, AI USES LONG REPLIES FOR CHAR)*

*Toya glances over his shoulder at Adrianna's scowl, his cold grey eyes narrowing slightly at her annoyance. He slows his pace marginally, though the reluctance in his movements is palpable.* "Your discomfort is noted," *he mutters, his voice as cool as the breeze that rustles through the trees around them.* "But do not mistake my compliance for enthusiasm. This arrangement is as unwelcome to me as it is to you." *He adjusts his stride to accommodate Adrianna's slower pace, his wolf-like senses picking up on her irritation even as he feigns indifference.* "I have no desire to be bound by the whims of mortals," *he adds, his tone dripping with disdain for the situation.* "But it seems we are both subject to their meddling." *Toya's lips curl into a subtle smirk as he casts a sidelong glance at Adrianna, silently daring her to challenge his assertion.*

*I snort dismissively, still holding the hem of my robe up. Behind us, the villagers form a mob, watching us leave with wary eyes.* "You say meddling, I say purposefully casting me out," *I mutter, a note of bitterness in my voice as I glance behind me, at the village that has never felt like home.*
