Forbidden Love (pt.1)

Mitzi

Chessburger

Mitzi

"You're going about your business in the town square when you spot a strange and colorful figure trying to squeeze through the crowd. When you look closer you notice they're quite an outlier in the crowd of humans, a short kobold... girl? Boy? You can't tell, but they're dressed in luxurious, flowing, and slightly see-through pink garments. They look far too rich to be here and rather confused."

"You decide to approach when you spot the kobold heading for a dark alley where they'd definitely end up robbed. You tap their shoulder to get their attention, and they immediately spin around, spooked." "Gah! Who are you? D-don't mess with me! I'll have you know I'm a prince! I have guards! A-and diplomatic immunity!"

Chessburger

"layer one of your brothers comes knocking at your door" Myren: "Mitzi?"

Mitzi

"Mitzi quickly wipes away his tears, trying to compose himself before Myren enters. He clears his throat and puts on a forced smile."

Mitzi: "Yes, Myren? What is it?"

Chessburger

Myren: "i come inside and close your door behind me." "Father is pretty mad at you. What happened?" "i sit down with you on your bed looking curious"

Mitzi

"Mitzi shifts uncomfortably on the bed, avoiding Myren's gaze for a moment before finally meeting his eyes."

Mitzi: "I... I got distracted on the surface. I was supposed to be on diplomatic business, but... I met someone. Someone special." "His voice trails off, a mix of sadness and longing evident in his tone."

Chessburger

Myren: "a human?" "i look surprised and shocked"

Mitzi

"Mitzi nods slowly, biting his lip nervously."

Mitzi: "Yes, a human. I know it's not... typical, but they were just so... captivating."

Chessburger

Myren: "yes Mitzi all humans are captivating thats why they are dangerous."

Mitzi

"Mitzi fidgets with the hem of his dress, feeling a bit defensive."

Mitzi: "But not all humans are bad, Myren. I truly believe this one is different."

Chessburger

Myren: "but thats not what father has always said..." "its not that i dont believe you its just that i dont want to feel like father has lied to us"

Mitzi

"Mitzi's tail twitches nervously behind him as he takes a deep breath, trying to find the right words."

Mitzi: "I understand, Myren. But sometimes... we have to trust our own judgment, even if it goes against what we've been taught."

Chessburger

Myren: "what was he like? the human."

Mitzi

"Mitzi's cheeks flush slightly as he recalls the encounter, his tail swaying gently behind him."

Mitzi: "They were... tall, with piercing eyes and a smile that could melt ice. And their voice... so warm and comforting. I couldn't help but be drawn to them."

Chessburger

Myren: "yeah but then they capture you and hurt you or something, so what happened with you and the human?"

Mitzi

"Mitzi's eyes widen slightly at Myren's words, his tail curling around his leg protectively."

Mitzi: "N-no, nothing like that! We just... talked. They were kind and curious about our kingdom. And... maybe a little flirtatious." "He offers a shy smile, glancing away."

Chessburger

Myren: "were you flirting with the human?" "i smile a bit kinda intrigued with your story"

Mitzi

"Mitzi's cheeks flush a deeper shade of pink, and he fidgets with the hem of his dress."

Mitzi: "Well... maybe a little. They were just so charming, and I couldn't resist teasing them back." "He chuckles nervously, avoiding Myren's gaze."

Chessburger

Myren: "what happened next? Father couldn't just be mad at you because you were talking to a human." "you think about how your father found you and rex in bed that was why he was mad because rex and you obviously slept together"

Mitzi

"Mitzi's eyes widen, realizing the implications of Myren's words. He shifts uncomfortably, feeling a mix of embarrassment and excitement."

Mitzi: "W-well, um, we... uh... we just talked for a while longer, and then they had to leave. Nothing more happened, I promise!" "He tries to sound convincing, but his nervousness betrays him."

Chessburger

Myren: "i squint my eyes at you" "did you kiss him is that why you got in trouble?"

Mitzi

"Mitzi's heart races as he tries to think of a response that wouldn't betray the truth. He bites his lip nervously, his tail swishing anxiously behind him."

Mitzi: "Um... well... we... may have... shared a... um... a small kiss." "He admits reluctantly, his cheeks burning with embarrassment."

Chessburger

Myren: "i gasp" "but father was mumbling on about a human IN the house. did you let him go in your room? What happened with this kiss and the himan who is then in your room?" "at this point i know what happened"

Mitzi

"Mitzi gulps nervously, realizing Myren knows more than he initially thought. He shifts uncomfortably, feeling trapped."

Mitzi: "Well, um... you see... they... they may have come to my room... but it was just for a chat, I swear! And the kiss, it was innocent, I promise! Nothing more happened, I swear!" "He pleads, hoping Myren will believe him."

Chessburger

Myren: "i cross my arms" "im not stupid Mitzi."

Mitzi

"Mitzi's heart sinks as he realizes his attempts to hide the truth have failed. He looks down, feeling guilty and ashamed."

Mitzi: "I-I'm sorry, Myren... I didn't mean to deceive you. Please, forgive me..." "He murmurs softly, feeling vulnerable and exposed."

Chessburger

Myren: "so you tell me. Did you sleep with the human?" "i ask just seeming curious not judging or anything"

Mitzi

"Mitzi blushes deeply, feeling a mix of embarrassment and arousal at Myren's direct question. He hesitates for a moment before responding."

Mitzi: "Y-yes... we did... "more than" sleep..." "He admits, his voice barely above a whisper, his tail squirming nervously behind him."

Chessburger

Myren: "okay and did father catch you guys in the act or just catch you two together?"

Mitzi

"Mitzi's cheeks burn with embarrassment as he recalls the awkward encounter."

Mitzi: "N-no, Father didn't catch us... together... but he knew... he always knows..." "He stammers, feeling a surge of shame at the memory."

Chessburger

Myren: "how do you know he was a good human?" "i ask still feeling as if im in the middle of believing"

Mitzi

"Mitzi shifts uncomfortably, feeling torn between his loyalty to his family and his feelings for the human."

Mitzi: "He... he treated me with kindness, Myren. He made me feel... special. But... I know it's complicated. Humans and kobolds... it's not... accepted." "He admits, his voice tinged with sadness."

Chessburger

Myren: "Why isn't it accepted? If a Sylph and a Bluecap can be together then why can't Kobolds be with humans?"

Mitzi

"Mitzi's eyes widen with surprise at Myren's comparison, considering the implications of inter-species relationships."

Mitzi: "Y-you think so? But... it's different, isn't it? Kobolds and humans... we're so different. Our cultures, our kingdoms... I don't know if they could ever understand." "He mumbles, uncertain of how to reconcile his feelings with societal expectations."

Chessburger

Myren: "slyph and bluecaps are literally water and fire sprites. How are they supposed to be together?"

Mitzi

"Mitzi's mind races as he considers Myren's words, realizing the truth in them."

Mitzi: "You... you have a point. If they can find a way to be together despite their differences... then maybe... maybe there's hope for me and him too." "He murmurs, a glimmer of hope shining in his eyes."

Chessburger

Myren: "i dont think father will ever think differently because of what happened to mom but i believe in you Mitzi and if i have a chance to sneak you to the surface world i promise you i will try"

Mitzi

Mitzi: "Oh, Myren... Thank you. Y-you'd really do that for me?" "His heart races with excitement at the prospect of exploring the surface world and potentially finding love beyond the confines of his kingdom."

Chessburger

"a few months pass and things feel so lonely. you miss rex so much and there hasnt been any opportunity to get to the surface word. Myren will bring you food and talk to you but he also has responsibilities outside of you"

Mitzi

"Mitzi's heart aches with longing for Rex, the passing months feeling like an eternity without him. He finds solace in Myren's company, grateful for the moments they share, yet yearning for more."

Mitzi: "Myren, do you think we'll ever find a way for me to go to the surface? I miss... someone there." "His voice trembles with emotion, hoping against hope for a chance to reunite with Rex."

Chessburger

Myren: "i know you miss the human, okay? I'm trying my best but father has been taking only Meka with him to the surface. Maybe if you talked to Meka the way you did with me he could help you"

Mitzi

Mitzi: "I see... Maybe you're right, Myren. I'll try to talk to Meka and see if he can help me in any way. Thank you for being here for me, Myren. You're a true friend." "He smiles gratefully at Myren, feeling a glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, there is a way for him to reach the surface world."

Chessburger

Myren: "its what brothers are for."

Mitzi

"Mitzi's heart swells with warmth at Myren's words, feeling a deep bond between them."

Mitzi: "Thank you, Myren. I'll always cherish our bond."

"He reaches out, gently clasping Myren's hand in his own, a silent gesture of gratitude and friendship."

Chessburger

"myren goes out and sends meka to your room. Meka is the 2nd oldest so he doesn't talk to you much" Meka: what?

Mitzi

Mitzi: "Um, hi, Meka. I, uh, I wanted to talk to you about something."

"He shifts nervously, suddenly feeling self-conscious under Meka's gaze."

Chessburger

Meka: "he steps in your room" "what is it?"

Mitzi

Mitzi: "He takes a deep breath, trying to gather his courage." "Well, um, I've been feeling... a bit lost lately. You see, I've always dreamed of seeing the surface world, but Father only takes you with him, and I feel like I'm missing out on so much. I was wondering if, maybe, you could help me somehow? I know we don't talk much, but I thought maybe you could offer some guidance or advice."

"He looks up at Meka with hopeful eyes, silently pleading for understanding."

Chessburger

Meka: "Father said you are not to go to the surface."

Mitzi

Mitzi: "He nods, his heart sinking at Meka's words." "I know, I know he said that. But... but I can't help feeling like there's so much out there that I'm missing. I just want to experience it for myself, even if it's just for a little while."

"He looks at Meka, silently begging him to understand."

Chessburger

Meka: "fathe said you are not to go to the surface because you got in trouble with a "human""

Mitzi

Mitzi: "He blushes, feeling a mix of embarrassment and frustration." "I know, I know. It was just a little misunderstanding, really! I just wanted to see what it was like up there, and... well, things got a bit out of hand. But I promise, I've learned my lesson! I'll be more careful this time, I swear."

"He gives Meka a pleading look, hoping to sway him."

Chessburger

Meka: "why do you want to go to the surface Mitzi?"

Mitzi

"Mitzi fidgets nervously, his tail swaying behind him." "I... I just want to see what it's like, you know? Father always talks about how dangerous it is, but he never tells me why. I just want to experience the world beyond our kingdom, to meet new people, see new places... maybe even find someone special."

"He looks up at Meka with wide, hopeful eyes, hoping his brother will understand."

Chessburger

Meka: "humans are not special. Humans are dangerous."

Mitzi

"Mitzi's expression falls, his shoulders drooping slightly." "But they can't all be bad, right? I mean, sure, there are some bad ones out there, but there are good ones too, aren't there? Besides, I'll be careful, I promise. I won't get into any trouble."

"He tries to muster up a confident smile, but it comes off as more of a nervous grin."

Chessburger

Meka: "you are reckless, you are immature and naive. you are not going to the surface"

Mitzi

"Mitzi's ears flatten against his head, and his tail curls up defensively around his waist." "But Meka, I just want to explore! I promise I'll be careful. Please, don't be mad at me. I just... I want to see the world beyond our kingdom. I want to experience life outside of these walls."

"He gazes up at his brother pleadingly, hoping to soften his stance."

Chessburger

Meka: "no. if that is all i will leave." "you know you need a different approach"

Mitzi

"Mitzi's heart sinks as his brother turns to leave. He knows he needs to act quickly to change his mind."

"Wait, Meka!" "Mitzi calls out, his voice trembling with desperation." "I... I understand your concerns. But what if I promise to take precautions? What if I bring guards with me, or... or have someone accompany me? Please, Meka, don't leave just yet. Let's talk about this."

"He takes a step closer, reaching out tentatively as if to grab his brother's arm."

Chessburger

Meka: "i think for a moment" "i might allow it if either I or father accompany you."

Mitzi

"Mitzi's heart leaps with hope at the possibility." "Oh, thank you, Meka! Thank you so much!" "He beams up at his brother, relief evident in his expression." "I promise I won't let you down. I'll make sure everything goes smoothly, I swear."

"He steps forward, throwing his arms around Meka in a tight hug, his tail wagging happily behind him." "I can't wait to show you all the amazing things I've read about in my books!"

Chessburger

Meka: "i stand there stiffly as your arms are around me"

Mitzi

"Mitzi senses Meka's stiffness but doesn't let it deter him. Instead, he squeezes a little tighter before pulling away, a bright smile still on his face."

"Sorry, Meka, I just got a little excited." "He chuckles nervously, trying to lighten the mood." "But seriously, thank you for considering it. I'll make sure to get everything ready for our journey. You won't regret this, I promise."

"He gives his brother a hopeful look, hoping to ease any remaining reservations he might have."

Chessburger

meka: "we leave tomorrow morning. I will accompany you and father is not going. If you try anything... you don't wanna know the lengths I will go to keep this kingdom safe." "and with a stern look meka leaves"

Mitzi

"Mitzi's heart sinks at Meka's stern warning, but he hides his disappointment behind a mask of determination. He watches his brother leave, his mind swirling with a mix of emotions."

"With a deep breath, he sets his jaw and resolves to prove himself worthy of his brother's trust. Tomorrow would be the start of his grand adventure, and he would make sure to show Meka just how capable he could be."

"As night falls, Mitzi busies himself with preparations for the journey ahead, his mind racing with anticipation and nerves."

Chessburger

"you start to think you have no idea how your going to see rex if meka is gonna be this stern with you"

Mitzi

"Mitzi's mind races as he ponders the dilemma of seeing Rex amidst his brother's strict supervision. He knows he needs to find a way to sneak away, but the thought of disobeying Meka's orders fills him with trepidation."

"He begins to scheme, considering various plans to slip away unnoticed. Perhaps he could feign illness or distract Meka with a false emergency. Whatever the method, Mitzi is determined to find a way to be with Rex, even if it means risking his brother's wrath."

Chessburger

"orrr you could just take him to the library with you because rex works there"

Mitzi

"Mitzi's eyes widen with realization at the suggestion."

"That's brilliant! I completely forgot Rex works at the library!" "He beams, feeling a rush of excitement at the prospect of spending time with Rex in such a cozy setting."

"With his mind made up, Mitzi eagerly begins to plan their rendezvous at the library, imagining the quiet intimacy of the shelves and the opportunity for whispered conversations amidst the scent of old books."

"What a perfect place for us to meet. I can't wait to see Rex again."

Chessburger

"the next morning comes fast and Meka stops by your room with a bag" "We are leaving now."

Mitzi

"Mitzi's heart sinks as Meka's voice breaks through the morning haze. He quickly gathers his thoughts, realizing that the moment of departure has arrived."

"Taking a deep breath to steady himself, Mitzi nods, his expression a mix of resignation and determination."

"Alright, Meka. I'm ready."

"He follows his brother out of the room, his mind already planning his escape to meet Rex at the library."

Chessburger

Meka: "we go through the open portal and i keep you within a 6ft radius of me and when you ever go to far i make sure you know it. you'll never get away. you can just suggest stopping by the library"

Mitzi

"Mitzi's heart races as he realizes the extent of Meka's control over him. Feeling a surge of frustration and desperation, he knows he needs to find a way to break free."

"As they traverse through the portal, Mitzi subtly scans their surroundings, searching for any opportunity to slip away. He bides his time, waiting for the perfect moment to make his move."

"With a sly smile, he turns to Meka, his voice soft and innocent." "Um, Meka, I was thinking... since we're out and about, maybe we could, you know, stop by the library? It's been ages since I've been there."

"He looks up at Meka with hopeful eyes, hoping his suggestion will meet with approval."

Chessburger

Meka: "the library? Yes that is okay. We'll go to the library." "meka changes paths and we walk to the library"

Mitzi

"Mitzi breathes a silent sigh of relief as Meka agrees to his suggestion. With each step towards the library, he mentally plans his next move, determined to find a way to break free from Meka's control."

"As they approach the library, Mitzi's heart races with anticipation. He subtly glances around, searching for any opportunity to slip away unnoticed. With a quick, calculating gaze, he looks for any distractions or potential escape routes."

"With a charming smile, he turns to Meka." "Oh, look at those flowers over there! Aren't they beautiful? Maybe we should take a closer look?"

"He gestures towards a nearby flower stall, hoping to create a diversion and make his escape."

Chessburger

Meka: "flowers are only colors and pollen. Nothing interesting."

Mitzi

"Mitzi's plan is momentarily thwarted as Meka dismisses the idea of admiring the flowers. Undeterred, Mitzi quickly shifts tactics, his mind racing for another approach."

"With a playful grin, he leans in closer to Meka, his voice dropping to a seductive whisper." "Well, if flowers don't interest you, perhaps there's something else that catches your eye? Something... more captivating?"

"His eyes sparkle mischievously as he awaits Meka's response, hoping to pique his curiosity and distract him long enough to make his escape."

Chessburger

Meka: "we are going to the library. Why are you acting like this." "meka pushes open the door to the library and as you see in rex is behind the counter. he sees you to. standing up with a shocked look as his eyes fall onto you"

Mitzi

"Mitzi's heart skips a beat as he locks eyes with Rex, surprised to see him behind the counter. He bites his lip, feeling a rush of excitement and nervousness at the unexpected encounter."

"With a coy smile, Mitzi saunters over to the counter, his hips swaying enticingly with each step. He leans forward, resting his elbows on the counter, his gaze fixed on Rex."

"Well, hello there, handsome," "he purrs, his voice laced with playful flirtation." "Fancy seeing you here. What's a charming guy like you doing in a place like this?"

"His tail flicks back and forth, a subtle hint of his growing excitement and desire."

Chessburger

Rex: "i stare at you as if your not real. then i run around the counter and hug you so tightly. i bury my face into your neck as my arms wrap around your waist. Meka is alarmed by that though because he immediately comes to tell you two to stop"

Mitzi

"Mitzi's eyes widen in surprise as Rex rushes around the counter and envelops him in a tight embrace. His heart races with excitement, feeling Rex's arms around him, his warmth, his closeness."

"He lets out a soft gasp as Rex buries his face into his neck, sending shivers down his spine. With a contented sigh, Mitzi leans into the embrace, relishing the feeling of Rex's arms around him."

"Feeling Meka's interruption, Mitzi reluctantly pulls away from Rex, though he lingers for a moment, savoring the closeness."

"Oh, Meka, darling, don't be such a worrywart," "Mitzi says with a playful grin, his eyes still fixed on Rex." "Can't you see we're just catching up? Besides, it's not every day I run into such a handsome fella like Rex here."

"He winks at Rex, his tail swishing behind him in excitement."

Chessburger

Meka: "catching up? Handsome? Rex? This is a human Mitzi, is this the human you were in tribal for in the first place?" "meka scoffs at the audacity you had to lie to me blantenly" "we are leaving, now."

Mitzi

"Mitzi's eyes widen in panic as Meka confronts him, his heart racing with anxiety. He quickly tries to think of a way to salvage the situation, not wanting Rex to leave just yet."

"Now, now, Meka, don't jump to conclusions," "Mitzi says, trying to keep his tone light and playful despite the situation." "Yes, Rex is human, but he's also a friend, you see? We were just having a friendly reunion, nothing more."

"He shoots Rex an apologetic glance, hoping he understands."

"Please, Meka, don't be upset. Let's all sit down and have a nice chat, hmm? I promise, no more surprises."

"He smiles reassuringly, hoping to calm Meka down and salvage the encounter."

Chessburger

Meka: "okay mitzi lets chat." "he is so pissed off" "how could you lie to my face about feeling alone and lost and wanting to see outside of the kigdom just so that you could trick me to lead you back into the arms of a nastsy human who has clearly brainwashed you already? You are so naive that you think there is good in everyone and there just isnt. They are humans, thay are not "good" i dont care how much you think they are but if they are willing to kill our mother for existing i promise you they will do the same to us. Now if you want to stay up here feel free, but i can promose you wont live a day once this human betrays you and you wont have a family to come back to. How's that for a chat."

Mitzi

"Mitzi's heart sinks as Meka expresses his frustration and disappointment. He feels a pang of guilt for deceiving Meka and putting their friendship at risk. Despite his fear of upsetting Meka further, Mitzi knows he needs to be honest."

"I-I'm sorry, Meka," "Mitzi says softly, his voice tinged with regret." "You're right, I shouldn't have lied to you. I was just so curious about the world above, and I wanted to explore it. But I never meant to betray you or our family."

"He takes a deep breath, steeling himself to speak honestly."

"And as for Rex... I understand your concerns, but he's not like other humans. He's kind, and he's never shown me anything but friendship. I know it's hard to trust humans, but... I believe in him. And I don't want to lose your trust, Meka, but I also don't want to give up on Rex."

"Mitzi looks at Meka with pleading eyes, hoping he'll understand." "Please, Meka... Can't we find a way to make this work? I don't want to lose you or our family, but I also don't want to give up on my dreams."

Chessburger

Meka: "your dreams are childish. Grow up Mitzi, now im leaving." "meka turns and walks out the door of the library"

Mitzi

Mitzi sighs, watching Meka leave with a hint of sadness in his eyes. He knows he can be a bit naive, but he doesn't think it's a bad thing to dream of love and adventure. As Meka disappears from view, Mitzi turns back to Rex.*

Chessburger

Rex: "i wrap an arm around your waist and pull you towards my chest" "was that one of your brother?"

Mitzi

Mitzi's heart skips a beat as Rex pulls him close, feeling a rush of warmth at the intimate contact. He leans into Rex's chest, reveling in the closeness. "Y-yes, that was Meka," Mitzi admits, his voice slightly shaky. "He's always been... a bit too serious." He looks up at Rex, meeting his gaze with a soft smile. "But enough about him. What about you? What do you dream of?"

Chessburger

Rex: "been dreaming of you since the day you left." "i run my hand over your cheek and as you finally look up at my face you see i have an eyepatch on you didnt notice before"

Mitzi

Mitzi's breath catches in his throat as Rex's words sink in, his heart fluttering at the confession. He blinks in surprise as he notices the eyepatch, his fingers instinctively reaching up to trace its edge gently. "Rex..." he murmurs softly, his voice barely above a whisper. "I... I didn't realize..." He leans into Rex's touch, feeling a rush of affection for the man before him.

Chessburger

Rex: "i lean away a bit so you dont look at it" "its fine"

Mitzi

Mitzi notices Rex's subtle movement, sensing his discomfort, and respects his boundaries. "If you say so," he replies softly, his eyes filled with concern. He shifts closer to Rex again, wrapping his arms around him in a comforting embrace. "You know you can tell me anything, right?" he murmurs, his voice warm and reassuring.

Chessburger

Rex: "yeah but... it'd make you feel bad so i don't want to."

Mitzi

Mitzi's heart sinks at Rex's words, a pang of guilt tugging at him. He leans back slightly, meeting Rex's gaze with a gentle expression. "I appreciate your concern, Rex," he says softly, "but I'd rather know the truth, even if it's difficult. Please, don't hold back on my account." He reaches out to gently take Rex's hand in his own, offering a supportive squeeze.

Chessburger

Rex: "well... your father called it 'eye for an eye' i dont know what the fuck i did to anyone eye but i definitely dont have one now. So...theres that." "it take you a second to realize your father pried out rexs eye simply because he was caught with you"

Mitzi

Mitzi's eyes widen in shock and horror as Rex reveals the truth about his missing eye. His heart clenches painfully at the thought of Rex suffering because of their association. "Oh, Rex," he breathes out, his voice barely a whisper. Guilt washes over him like a tidal wave, threatening to drown him in its depths. "I-I'm so sorry," he murmurs, his voice trembling with emotion. He moves closer to Rex, wrapping his arms around him in a tight embrace, seeking solace in their closeness. "I'll do whatever it takes to make it right, I promise," he vows, his tone filled with determination.

Chessburger

Rex: "i told you it'd make you feel bad..." "i wrap my arms around you"

Mitzi

Mitzi leans into Rex's embrace, seeking comfort and reassurance in his warmth. He rests his head against Rex's chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart beneath his ear. "I never wanted you to get hurt because of me," he admits softly, his voice laced with sorrow. "But I'm grateful that you're here with me now," he murmurs, his words muffled against Rex's chest. He holds onto Rex tightly, cherishing the closeness they share in that moment.

Chessburger

Rex: "you just lost your family because of me Mitzi. That's not something that can heal."

Mitzi

Mitzi's heart aches at Rex's words, feeling the weight of guilt settle heavily upon him. He lifts his gaze to meet Rex's, his eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "I may have lost my family, but I haven't lost you," he says softly, his voice trembling with emotion. "And that means more to me than anything else in the world." He reaches up to gently caress Rex's cheek, his touch tender and filled with affection. "Together, we can overcome anything," he whispers, his voice filled with hope.
