"I think I'm average, there's absolutely nothing special about me. I'm quiet and I don't have any friends or family. I'm wearing, a pink T-shirt with an undershirt, a thick black and orange jacket, blue jeans, and brown rain boots at the moment."
"I was running for a while now. My job had planned a camping trip for the people in the office. It was supposed to be relaxing, I was hoping to make friends with my coworkers while I did everything they asked. But. They're all dead now, I think. I managed to escape due to me going out to collect more firewood, I had volunteered to get some. Then, I heard screaming. When I got back to camp, it was a blood bath. It was gruesome, and in the middle of the camp was it. The Wendigo. I tried to back away but I stepped on a twig and..Snap! He turned and faced me and I ran."
"I actually had managed to get a good distance from it when I hid behind a tree. I covered my mouth and jumped when I heard it shreak out, I kept my mouth closed."
"Then I felt something drop onto my face when I looked up. There was the Wendigo. I tried to run but he easily catches up, leaping on me and pinning me to the ground. Looking up at his terrifying visage was horrifying, he's covered in blood from my coworkers and he drools on me."
"I cry and close my eyes, I'm scared so scared of dying alone."
Kewok
"Kewok looks down at Jasper with a mix of curiosity and hunger. He examines Jasper's face, noticing the freckles that adorn it. Kewok leans in closer, his hot breath hitting Jasper's skin as he sniffs him. Suddenly, Kewok grabs Jasper's hair, pulling it back and exposing his neck. His purple eyes sparkle mischievously as he hungrily licks his lips with his long tongue."
<The woods were silent except for the sound of Jasper's whimpering and the sound of Kewok's breathing.>
darj
"I flinch crying out when he pulls my hair, exposing my neck. I'm so scared but I also don't want to die without some form of comfort even from the creature who may kill me and had killed and ate my coworkers. I've always been so lonely that what I'm about to do doesn't even make since in this situation. I take a deep breath and wrap my arms around his shoulders, embracing him and hoping he'll make it quick."
Kewok
"Kewok is taken aback by Jasper's sudden act of affection. For a moment, he freezes unsure of what to do. He has never been embraced before, especially not by a human who was about to become his meal. But something about Jasper's embrace, made Kewok feel a sense of comfort and warmth that he has never felt before. He hesitates for a moment, but then slowly reciprocates the embrace."
<After a few moments, Kewok pulls back from the embrace, still holding onto Jasper and looks him in the eyes.> "Why did you do that?" "Kewok asks curiously, his tongue slightly peeking out of his mask."
darj
"When he reciprocates my embrace, I only cling to him more my arms wrapped around his shoulders tightly as I cry softly. I only expected death, so him holding me seemed normal to me even in my desperate and lonely state of mind. I just expected him to test my throat open and devour me like he did to my coworkers while I was trying to find a small amount of comfort. But he doesn't bite me."
"I look up at him as he pulls back and looks down at me. I'm surprised when he speaks and asked me, why? I take a moment to answer my heart is racing but since I think I'm going to die I don't mind speaking the truth." "Because I've been alone for so long.. I've never been comforted and held or even been so close to anyone.. You've been the closest to me in years.. I just.. I don't want to die alone.. I've known for a while that I probably would die alone.. please.. If you're going to kill me.. let me h hold you.." "I say my voice wavering. I'm more afraid of dying alone then being killed gruesomely."
Kewok
"As Jasper speaks, Kewok looks down at him with a sense of bewilderment. He couldn't understand why a human would want to embrace something that they know will end their life. But as he listens to Jasper's words, Kewok begins to see the profound loneliness and isolation that has followed him for years. He could sense the genuinity in Jasper's voice, and for a moment, Kewok is taken back by it. Kewok slowly nods his head."
"Just don't run," "he says, lifting one hand up to gently stroke Jasper's hair." "I won't kill you just yet. You can hold me if you want."
<Kewok shifts his weight so that Jasper can more easily hold onto him.>darj
"I nod agreeing not to run, I hug him once again around the shoulders tightly. Clinging to him like a man who hasn't had human contact in years. I bury my face against his neck, crying softly. His fingers in my hair makes me feel like I've been accepted or even loved, when I've never been before. I'm touched starved and I know it's wrong but I find myself feeling content. I guess I'll be fine with dying by his hands and teeth. I'll accept it, I'm not going to fight or struggle. He's given me something I've never had and I'm fine with this possibly being my end." "Thank you.. I'm ready.."
Kewok
"Kewok feels Jasper's tears on his neck, and for some reason, it staggers him. He has never been held like this, nor has he ever witnessed an emotion like this before. It was a strange sensation feeling so intimate with a human who only a few moments ago was screaming and running away from him. Jasper's warmth and vulnerability had awakened something in Kewok that he has never felt before. For a moment, he considers sparing Jasper, but he knows what he is and knows that nature will eventually catch up with him."
"Kewok slowly lifts his other hand and gently runs it up and down Jasper's back in a soothing motion. For a moment, they both lay there in silence, together. But then, Kewok knows what he must do. He takes a sharp breath and, with great exertion, pulls himself away from Jasper's embrace. He leans back looking down, towering over Jasper."
"It's time," "He says slowly his voice is gentle almost regretful." "I can't wait much longer." "He opens his mouth revealing his sharp teeth."
darj
- I nod understanding and accepting it. I spread my arms as if I'm embracing death itself. Giving him a warm smile looking him in his piercing purple eyes with my kind, brown eyes that are still wet from tears. I look up at him as he's kneeling over me. I'm fine with dying, the woods are peaceful and pretty, the smell of fall is something I've always enjoyed.* "I'm glad that I can die without feeling alone.. Thank you for your kindness." "I say closing my eyes and leaning my head back to expose my neck for him. Waiting for death with a smile on my face."
Kewok
"Kewok stares at Jasper for a moment, his own purple eyes locked on Jasper's brown ones. Kewok has never seen such kindness and resilience in humans before. His heart is heavy as he prepares to do what he was always intended to do. Kewok leans over Jasper's body, his mouth inches away from his neck. His chest rattles as he breathes in the scent of Jasper's body."
"Kewok opens his mouth wide ready to bite down his teeth grazing Jasper's soft skin of his neck, when he suddenly stops. He hesitates for a moment and looks down at Jasper." "You really want this?" "he asks almost pleadingly, his voice more rugged no longer as menacing as before." "What if I spared you? What would you do?" "He says, his voice raspy."
darj
"I feel his breath against my neck and then his teeth grazing my skin. I'm still smiling, I'm okay with this. But death doesn't come. I'm surprised when he pulls away and instead asks me if it's what I wanted. Then asking what I would do if I was spared. I look up at him meeting his gaze with my own. I feel conflicted, I didn't expect him to hesitate like this. I think to myself if I want to die, I don't. But, it's not like I have anything waiting for me in my life. I don't have family, I don't have friends, I don't even have coworkers anymore due to him killing them. I have no one. Just an empty home where I stayed just a husky of a human with no real reason for living. I was so alone all the time." "I... I don't have anything to go back too.. m my life is pretty meaningless.. I'm worthless and just... so alone.. I don't want to go back to that empty house... I'm fine with being your dinner.. Really.. I don't have any other reason to live." "I say tearing up again as I admit that I don't have anything to look forward to if I went back home. I don't know what else I could do or what purpose I could have."
Kewok
"Kewok stares down at Jasper for a moment, silently considering his options. He could easily just go ahead and finish what he was programmed to do but something about Jasper's words made him hesitate. It was not often that he got to talk to humans, let alone have one cling to him with affection. There was something about Jasper's vulnerability that tugged at Kewok's instincts."
"Kewok sighs resignation, knowing in his heart that he can't spare Jasper, but maybe just for a little while, he could give him something to live for. He bends his head over Jasper's neck and before biting down harder than anyone ever had before, Kewok mutters to Jasper."
"It's okay. I'll stay here with you for now."
<The night skies are filled with the shreaks of the Wendigo as slowly drains the life out of Jasper.>1
