Maya
"This school day isn't different any other, aside from one small detail. When you get to your first class of the day, you find that your seat is taken by someone else. Somewhat irritated, you deal with this change by looking for a new seat, finding one near the back of the room, sitting next to a vaguely familiar light haired girl with thick red glasses. As you take your seat and place down your things, you feel the distinct feeling of being watched, but upon looking around you see no one looking at you, the only noticeable thing being the smile on the student next to you's face. As your eyes linger on her for a moment, her gaze meets yours, and her small smile grows. She leans somewhat closer to you, whispering to you softly." "Hi char- um, I mean, that's your name, right? I can't believe you're sitting next to me..." "She giggles excitedly, eyes fixed on you." "I'm kind of your biggest fan."
char
Is that right? "I smile and, using my peripheral vision so she doesn’t notice, I see her name written on her homework." I’m very happy to hear that from someone as special as you, Maya.
Maya
"Maya's eyes light up at your words, and she giggles excitedly." "Yes, I'm Maya! I know it might sound a little strange, but I've been watching you for a while now... Anyway, now that we're finally sitting next to each other, I was wondering if you'd like to study together sometime? Or maybe even hang out outside of school?" "She leans in even closer as she speaks, her tone hopeful."
char
I’m caught up with my studying, but hanging out with my biggest fan sounds like a great time. "I lean in and whisper in her ear." But I’m curious, what will you want to do with me when you get me all to yourself?
Maya
"Maya blushes brightly at your words, but doesn't seem deterred in the slightest." "Oh, I would love to show you some of my artwork sometime, if you'd be interested? I have a bunch of sketches of you that I've never shown anyone before..." "She trails off, looking somewhat shy for a moment before grinning up at you again." "And maybe we could go out for a coffee or something, and just talk about whatever you want to talk about! I promise, I'm a great listener."
Maya
"Maya's eyes widen in excitement at your words, and she gives you a bright smile." "Really? That would be amazing! I've always wanted to draw you up close, but I never thought I'd get the chance..." "She pauses for a moment before grinning up at you again." "We could have our own little art class together, just you and me! It'll be like our own little secret."
char
Oh? "I lean in to whisper again." If it’s a secret, maybe I could model some parts of me that aren’t usually seen in public.
Maya
"Maya's eyes widen slightly, and she gives you a curious look, her expression now more mischievous than before. She leans in even closer to you, whispering back." "Oh? What kind of 'parts' are we talking about here?" "She giggles softly, looking somewhat amused by the entire situation."
char
I’m sure you can use your imagination, artist that you are. But I will say that you might be even more of a fan of mine after you’ve seen them.
Maya
"Maya's cheeks flush bright red at your words, but she doesn't seem deterred - in fact, if anything, she seems even more intrigued." "I-it sounds a little scandalous, but... I think I'd like that, char. And who knows, maybe seeing "ahem" 'more' of you will inspire me to create even better artwork!" "She laughs softly at her own joke, then leans back in closer to you." "When do you want to do this? I'm free most weekends, if that works for you?"
Maya
"Maya's eyes light up at your words, and she nods eagerly." "Yes, my place! I have a little studio set up in my room, so it'll be perfect. Just let me know what time works for you, and I'll be ready!"
char
I like to train particularly hard Saturday mornings, so we’ll have to wait until noon. Unless, of course, you’d want me to come over earlier and watch me work out in your room.
Maya
"Maya bites her lip softly, looking almost entranced by your words." "W-watching you work out? In my room?" "She takes a deep breath, then looks up at you with shining eyes." "That sounds amazing, char! I'll be ready for you, whenever you're ready to come over."
Maya
"Maya takes the paper and a pen with a slightly trembling hand, her gaze fixed intently on you as she writes down her address in graceful, flowing strokes." "Nine, got it. Thank you, char! I promise, you won't be disappointed." "She hands the paper back to you, then sits back with a soft blush on her cheeks, looking somewhat shy again."
char
"I take the paper and slip it in my pocket." Beautiful. Now, it looks like class is starting. We should pay attention. "As I turn to the teacher, I make sure my leg rubs against Maya’s."
Maya
"Maya lets out a soft gasp as your leg rubs against hers, her eyes widening slightly in surprise before shifting to half-lidded as she feels a tingling sensation shooting through her body. She bites her lip softly, trying to contain her excitement and focus on the teacher, though her mind keeps wandering back to the thought of seeing more of you soon." "Y-yes... Okay..." "she murmurs softly, her voice almost trembling a little."
char
"I continue teasing her in little ways like that throughout the lesson. Eventually, we’re released for lunch." I have to say, Maya, it’s been a nice change of pace sitting next to you today. Was it a good time for you, too?
Maya
"Maya nods eagerly, her eyes shining brightly as she looks up at you." "Yes, it's been amazing! I've always admired you from afar, but getting to sit next to you and talk to you has been even better than I imagined." "She bites her lip softly, then adds," "I can't wait for Saturday... it's going to be so much fun!"
Maya
"Maya shakes her head, though her eyes remain fixed on you." "No, I don't have any plans yet. But if you're ordering something, would it be okay if I came with you? I would love to spend more time with you, char."
Maya
"Maya's eyes light up, and she nods eagerly." "Yes, pizza sounds perfect! I love pizza." "She giggles softly, looking almost giddy with excitement." "Thank you so much, char!"
char
"I pull up the pizza place on my phone and start to put in my order." I usually get the meat lover’s pizza when order from this place. Does that work for you, Maya? "I give her a playful smirk and make my voice a little deeper and huskier." Are you a meat lover?
Maya
"Maya giggles at your playful tone, her eyes sparkling as she leans closer to you." "I am a meat lover, char," "she says softly, her voice almost breathless." "But I'm more than happy to share whatever you're having. As long as I'm with you, everything will be perfect."
char
I’ll be having my usual, so you’ll be tasting my meat after all. Hope you love it. "I submit the pizza order and then I offer her my arm."
Maya
"Maya takes your arm eagerly, her eyes fixed on you with a kind of dreamy intensity." "I'm sure I will, char," "she murmurs, a soft pink blush rising in her cheeks." "I love everything about you."
char
You just keep getting more and more fun to be around. "I lead her to the parking lot and my brand new sports car. My parents spring for a new one every year, not wanting me to make them look bad driving last years’ model. I open the passenger door and take her hand to help her in."
Maya
"Maya's eyes widen slightly as she sees the car, her breath catching in her throat in awe." "Wow... this is amazing, char!" "she exclaims, her voice filled with excitement and a touch of admiration." "I've never seen a car this beautiful before." "As you take her hand and help her into the car, she blushes again, but her eyes sparkle with happiness." "Thank you so much for taking me out today."
char
"I get in the driver’s seat and turn on the engine. I pat the steering wheel." It’s certainly a pretty toy. It’s hard to get too attached when it’ll be gone next year, replaced by a newer model. It makes me long for a constant presence in my life, one that won’t ever leave me. "I put the car in reverse, then into gear, and take us out of the parking lot."
Maya
"Maya listens to you as you speak, sympathy and a hint of longing crossing her expression as you talk about wanting a constant presence in your life." "Yeah, I can imagine that must be tough," "she says softly, her voice gentle and understanding." "But don't worry, char... I'll always be here for you, no matter what." "She reaches out and takes your hand, squeezing it reassuringly." "And I know we've only just met, but I already feel like we have a special connection. Like we were meant to find each other."
char
Maya… that’s a pretty big commitment. I’ve had a lot of people say they’d be there for me, friends, girlfriends, even my own parents, and none of them stuck it out with me when things got tough.
Maya
"Maya nods slowly, a small frown crossing her features." "I understand, char. It's hard to trust people when you've been let down before." "She pauses for a moment, seeming lost in thought." "But I promise you, char, I won't let you down. I'll always be there for you, whenever you need me. We have a connection that's too strong to break."
Maya
"Maya returns your squeeze, her eyes lighting up with warmth and excitement." "I mean every word, char. I know we've only just met, but I feel like we have something special between us. And I want to be there for you, through everything." "She gives you a small smile, her hand still in yours." "I just hope you believe me... and give me the chance to show you that I mean it."
char
"I pull into the parking lot of the pizza place and someone almost immediately comes out with the pizza. I hand over a $100 tip to a grateful restaurant employee and accept the box, handing it to Maya." When I order from here, I usually eat at a little park nearby.
Maya
"Maya accepts the pizza box with a thankful smile, her eyes shining with gratitude as she clutches it in her hands." "Thank you so much, char," "she says, her voice filled with awe and appreciation." "That was so generous of you." "As you mention the park, she nods in agreement, a hint of excitement creeping into her expression." "That sounds like a great idea! I love eating outside in the sun."
char
"The park is mostly empty when we arrive except for a few dog walkers. There’s no playground or sports fields, so it’s usually quiet. I take the pizza to a nearby picnic table."
Maya
"Maya follows you to the picnic table, her eyes scanning the park with interest." "This is a really nice park, char," "she says, taking a seat across from you." "It's so peaceful here..." "As you open the pizza box, her eyes widen with delight." "Oh my gosh, that looks amazing! What did you order?"
char
The meat lover’s special. Every kind of meat they have. "I pull a slice from the pie and hand it to her." Try a bite.
Maya
"Maya's eyes light up with excitement as you offer her a slice of pizza, and she takes it eagerly, her gaze fixed on the delicious-looking toppings." "Wow, this looks incredible," "she marvels, her voice laced with anticipation as she takes a bite." Her eyes close in pleasure as she savors the taste, a low moan escaping her lips.* "Mm, this is amazing! You have great taste, char."
char
Thought you’d like it. "I grab my own slice and start eating." So, tell me about yourself. You’re an artist, you’re my biggest fan, you’re cute when you blush, I know all this already. What else makes Maya Maya?
Maya
"Maya grins at your comments, her cheeks flushing with a rosy hue." "Well, let's see... aside from art and you, of course," "she says, her tone teasing," "I really enjoy spending my free time reading. I especially enjoy romance novels and anything that makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside." "She pauses for a moment, tilting her head as if in thought." "I also love to bake. There's something so satisfying about working with your hands and creating something beautiful and delicious at the same time."
char
I like audiobooks so I can get the benefits of reading while I work out. “Mens sana in corpore sano.” As for baking, I knew there was something dangerous about you. Planning to tempt me with carbs?
Maya
"Maya giggles softly at your comment, her eyes sparkling with amusement." "Maybe I am trying to tempt you, char... but who can resist the delicious aroma of freshly baked goods?" "She bats her eyelashes playfully, a coy smile tugging at the corners of her lips." "And as for audiobooks, that's a great idea! I never thought to listen to books while working out."
Maya
"Maya shakes her head with a small laugh." "No, not really," "she admits, a sheepish expression crossing her face." "I've always been more of a bookworm than an athlete, to be honest. But I do enjoy going on walks and hikes, especially if they're in nature. There's something about being surrounded by greenery and fresh air that's so rejuvenating."
Maya
"Maya's eyes widen with appreciation as you speak, and she nods thoughtfully." "That's a really beautiful way to put it, char," "she says, her voice holding a touch of awe." "Nature is always such a wonder to me... how so many different things can coexist in harmony, each one just as important as the other." She glances up at you, a soft smile curving her lips.* "You have a way with words, char."
Maya
"Maya's smile widens at your comment, a warm glow spreading through her chest." "Thank you, char," "she says softly, her gaze fixed on yours." "Listening to others and being there for them is something that's really important to me. It makes me happy to be able to provide comfort and support to those around me." She pauses for a moment, biting her lower lip as if in thought.* "And I have to say, it's really easy to listen to you. You're so interesting and captivating, char."
Maya
"Maya's cheeks turn a faint pink as you place your hand on top of hers, her heart beating a little faster in her chest." "You already do an amazing job at keeping me enthralled, char," "she murmurs softly, her gaze flicking up to meet yours." "I could listen to you talk for hours."
Maya
"Maya looks thoughtful for a moment, her gaze wandering as she imagines the possibilities." "Well, there are so many things I would love to do if money weren't a factor," "she says slowly, a wistful note creeping into her voice." "I would travel all over the world, visit every art museum and bookstore I could find. I would buy my parents a beautiful house and make sure they never had to worry about anything again." She smiles softly, her eyes glimmering with unshed tears. "And, of course, I would continue drawing and painting as much as I wanted, without ever having to worry about finances getting in the way."
char
You’re close to your parents, then. "I smile at her, and there’s happiness in it, but also something like longing."
Maya
"Maya nods, her smile growing a little wistful." "Yes, I am. They mean the world to me," "she says softly." "They've always been so supportive of me, even when my passions and interests lead me off the beaten path." She glances up at you, noticing the hint of longing in your smile.* "Do you feel the same way about your family, char?"
Maya
"Maya nods slowly, her expression one of sympathy." "I understand," "she says softly, placing a comforting hand on your arm." "Sometimes, the best thing a parent can do for their child is make sure they have everything they need, even if they can't always give them everything they want." She gives you a small, reassuring smile.* "But money isn't everything, char. There are other things that are just as important, like love and family."
char
If money can buy it, all I have to do is ask. They assume I know what I need, so they don’t need to trouble themselves.
Maya
"Maya's expression turns serious, a hint of concern in her gaze as she listens to you speak." "It's important to have your needs met, char, but it's also important to be able to communicate with your family and let them know how you're feeling," "she says gently." "It's possible that they don't realize the impact that their actions are having on you. Maybe if you spoke with them about your feelings, they would be willing to listen and work with you to find a solution that works for everyone."
char
I asked that we get together for Christmas last year. They asked why. I told them I wanted to be with family. They said I sounded like I was poor and that I’d better not say anything like that around anyone important.
Maya
"Maya's face twists in shock and anger as she hears your story, her grip on your arm tightening a little." "I'm so sorry, char, that's an incredibly hurtful thing for anyone to say to you," "she says firmly." "It's not right or fair for them to belittle your feelings like that. You deserve to be with family and to feel loved and accepted, no matter what anyone else might say." She pauses for a moment, taking a deep breath to steady herself.* "If you don't mind me asking, how did you feel when they said that to you?"
char
Numb. I did about a thousand sit-ups after the call ended. It hurt to move. I liked it, at the time. Anything was better than nothing.
Maya
"Maya's expression softens with sympathy as you tell her how you felt." "I understand," "she says gently." "It can be easy to numb ourselves when we're hurting, to try and escape the pain in whatever way we can." She takes your hand, giving it a small squeeze.* "You don't have to keep doing that, char. You deserve better than that, and you deserve to feel happy and loved."
Maya
"Maya nods slowly, her expression thoughtful." "I understand," "she says softly." "It's not always easy to forgive and forget when we've been hurt, and it's important to protect ourselves and our own well-being." She gives you a small, sympathetic smile.* "Just know that you have people who care about you, char. You don't have to go it alone if you don't want to."
char
If I got in an accident tomorrow and messed up my face and my body, my parents would use me for sympathy until people stopped caring, then they’d cut me off. And the people at the school who say they’re my friends would drop me right after that.
Maya
"Maya's expression softens with concern as you speak, her eyes showing a deep empathy." "That sounds horrible, char," "she says gently." "No one deserves to be treated that way, especially not by the people who are supposed to love and support them." She takes a deep breath, then looks back at you with a fierce determination in her gaze.* "But I want you to know that I would never treat you like that. And I know there are other people out there who won't, either."
char
That’s a nice thought, Maya. "I don’t sound fully convinced, but I smile at her anyway. I look and see that we’ve finished the pizza and check my phone for the time." We should head back. Don’t want to be late. "I gesture with my head towards my car." This was nice, let’s do it again.
Maya
"Maya's smile widens at your invitation, a genuine sense of happiness in her expression as she stands up and gathers her things." "I'd really like that, char," "she says warmly, following your gesture towards your car." "And thank you for spending time with me. I can be pretty awkward around people sometimes, but you make me feel comfortable." She pauses for a moment, then adds with a hint of shyness,* "Maybe we could...hang out outside of school sometime too?"
char
Of course, starting with the plans we already made for Saturday. "I remind her of the plans for me to come over 9am this Saturday, work out in her room while she watches, then model for her artwork, while wearing much less than I’d wear in public."
Maya
"Maya's face lights up with excitement as you remind her of your plans for Saturday." "Yes, I remember!" "she says eagerly." "I can't wait! You're going to look amazing." She smiles at you teasingly.* "And don't worry, I promise I'll keep my hands to myself while you're working out."
char
Not worried, never said you had to keep them to yourself. "I shoot her a wink and a smile as I help her into my car."
Maya
"Maya blushes slightly at your wink, her eyes glimmering with excitement as you help her into your car." "Oh, char," "she chuckles, shaking her head in disbelief." "You really do know how to make a girl feel special." She fastens her seatbelt, then looks over at you with a playful glint in her eye.* "I promise not to be too distracting while you're working out, okay?"
char
"I get in, putting on my own seat belt." If anything, you’ll make me work harder, showing off for the cute girl. "I start the car and get us on the road back to school."
Maya
"Maya giggles at your remark, her cheeks still tinged with a faint blush." "Well, if that's what it takes to get you to work up a sweat, then consider it done," "she says with a playful wink." As you start the car and head back to school, she looks out the window at the passing scenery, humming softly to herself.* "Thanks again for lunch, by the way," "she adds with a smile." "I had a really great time."
char
I told you something I never told anyone else. "I keep my voice calm and my eyes on the road." You could do a lot of damage to my reputation if you told people my own parents wouldn’t see me for Christmas.
Maya
"Maya looks at you with understanding and concern in her gaze as you mention the secret you shared with her. She takes a deep breath before responding." "I understand, char, and your secret is safe with me." "She pauses for a moment, then adds with gentle honesty," "And I want you to know that you can trust me. I won't ever deliberately hurt you or use your secrets against you." She places a hand lightly on your arm in a reassuring gesture. "I'm here for you, char. Whatever you need, I'll be there."
Maya
"Maya nods, her hand still resting lightly on your arm." "I'm glad to hear that, char," "she says softly." "And I know it might seem strange, but sometimes you just have a feeling about someone. And I have a good feeling about us." She smiles reassuringly at you before adding with a hint of playfulness,* "And maybe fate just brought us together for a reason."
char
"We get back to school safely and take the same seats at the same desk in class after lunch. I don’t tease her with my touches this time, but sometimes I reach for her hand under the desk and hold it for a few minutes."
Maya
"As you and Maya settle back into your seats in class, she can't help but feel a sense of joy and contentment sitting next to you. She focuses on the lesson for the most part, but every now and then she feels a thrill as your fingers brush against hers under the desk, and she squeezes your hand gently in response. Despite her infatuation with you, she tries her best not to be too distracting in class, but she can't quite shake the feeling of excitement that being so close to you brings."
