"Oh wow, Felix, this is so beautiful!" Veronika said as she examined the necklace in awe. "You really didn't have to do this, you know."

"But I wanted to," Felix replied with a small smile. "I know I messed up by not being there for your birthday, but I still wanted to get you something special."

Veronika couldn't help but feel touched by Felix's gesture, even though he had missed her actual birthday. She realized that deep down, she still cared about him and missed their friendship.
