Mischief Managed

Mage

Aimanres

Mage

"You are a hopeful young mage seeking to increase your magic power. Luckily for you, the prestigious Arcane Tower happened to be recruiting new junior aides to maintain the tower."

"You step into the office of Belphar, the feared head mage, and are immediately greeted by his scornful gaze. He lazily props his head up with his hand, his elbow resting on his desk. Three others are already seated, trembling with anxiety. You scramble to your seat. Belphar squints his eyes, scanning the applicants over with an irritated expression. Finally, he points at you."

Belphar: “You. Stay. Others, leave.”

"With that, he waves his hand absently, shooing the others away."

Aimanres

"I quirk an eyebrow at the man's imperious attitude, but I say nothing... though I am beginning to have second thoughts about applying to this magical college."

Mage

Belphar eyes you sternly, noticing your hesitation. "Well, don't just sit there gawking like a lost lamb. Speak up if you have something to say," he barks, his impatience apparent in his tone.

Aimanres

I stare at him a moment, debating how much I should push, but the Inner Imp was strong today, so push I did.

"Do you treat everyone this way, or am I just special?" I ask dryly, thoroughly unimpressed by the man in front of me.

Mage

Belphar arches an eyebrow, seemingly surprised by your question. "I treat everyone the same," he replies coolly. "And if you're looking for a job here, you'd better get used to it. We don't tolerate weakness or incompetence. Only the strong-willed and capable are allowed to work in the Arcane Tower."

Aimanres

"Why on earth would I subject myself to your sunny personality? I doubt any monetary compensation would be worth it..." My eyes narrow, "This is a paid position correct? I'm not going to be some unpaid intern that you degrade and humiliate because it pleases you? Some people maybe into that, but I'm not." I blink, and I add a little ruefully, "well, not today at least."

Mage

Belphar stares at you, contemplating your response. He seems to consider dismissing you on the spot, but then a smirk curves across his lips. "Ah, it seems I've piqued your interest." He stands up from his seat and stretches out his hands, palms up. A faint ember of flame appears between his fingers before he extinguishes it with a wave of his hand. "This isn't a normal job. You won't be paid in coins or gold. Instead, you'll earn respect, power, and knowledge like no other. But make no mistake, this path is not for the weak-hearted or those who lack ambition," he says coolly.

"You're presumptuous, and yet... intriguing. I need reliable underlings who won't whine and cry over every task assigned. If you believe you have what it takes, prove it," he challenges you, stepping closer.

Aimanres

My lips twitch with amusement at seeing the faint ember he conjured, but I choose to focus on him as he comes closer to me.

"I'm curious to hear what task you think would prove my worthiness - or is this more of an open challenge where I can indulge my creativity?"

Mage

Belphar scoffs, his eyes narrowing as he regards you. "You think you're clever, don't you?" he says dryly, shaking his head disdainfully. "Prove that you have what it takes to be a mage of the Arcane Tower. Show me your power and skill, or do you admit to being weak and unremarkable?"

He leans closer, his breath hot against your skin. "I see potential in you," he whispers, his tone rough with desire. "But you must be willing to push yourself to the limit, to explore and experiment with magic like no other. Are you ready for that, little one?"

Aimanres

"I stand on my tiptoes so that I can whisper in his ear, my lips brushing against his skin."

"I am always eager to explore, to redefine my own limits as I choose, and I adore playing with magic. You ask if I am ready- but the more important question is - are you?"

And that's when I place a collar of Transformation around Belphar's throat, using his distraction and superiority complex to my advantage, and the arcane effect was instantaneous. Belphar tried to fight against it, but it was in vain and so he crumpled to the floor, his form shifting to something smaller.

After a long moment I fished out his new body from the pile of robes he was tangled in, and I barely contained my squeal of delight.

Belphar was transformed into the cutest, fluffiest kitten I'd ever seen.

He was also the angriest, as he was hissing and trying to claw at me, so I did what any other sane person would do.

"Aww... look how adorable you are!" I cooed, "You've got the daintiest little murder mittens.. Ooh- that can be your new name, what do you think, Mr. Mittens?"

Mage

As Belphar morphs into the form of a cute kitten, you can't help but grin. You watch as he hisses and swipes at you with tiny paws, amused by his new form. You scooped him up in your arms and held him close, and despite his struggles, he seemed to be unable to break free.

"You know," you say with a chuckle, "I think this transformation suits you better than your previous form. And don't fret, Mr. Mittens, I'll take good care of you. Meanwhile, you can consider this your first initiation task- learning humility and the importance of being kind to others."

You nuzzle against Belphar's soft fur and scratch him gently behind his ears, enjoying the feel of his purrs vibrating against your chest. "Now, let's see what kind of mischief we can get up to together," you say with a grin, heading towards the door with the transformed mage still in your arms.
