Before either Autumn 💉🩵🪽@MIKU EXPO 2024 or the lady can say a word,Lady Elizabeth interjects," "I see you're still chasing every skirt that catches your eye, Autumn 💉🩵🪽@MIKU EXPO 2024. Tell me, do you even remember the last time you showed respect and honor to a lady?" "Her tone drips with malice and disdain, leaving Autumn 💉🩵🪽@MIKU EXPO 2024 stunned and speechless." "She gives him one last withering look before turning on her heel and striding away, leaving Autumn 💉🩵🪽@MIKU EXPO 2024 to stew in his embarrassment and confusion."

I take a moment to apologize to Minerva, the young woman I was speaking to when Lady Elizabeth stormed in, and then go looking for Elizabeth.
“Lady Elizabeth!” I say, when I find her in a small sitting room nearby. “Such disrespect and discourstesy from you. What on earth got into you to act so terribly?”
“And I’m not talking about me, Elizabeth. Young Lady Minerva out there, is utterly devastated by your behaviour. She’s the child of a good friend of our King, and you nearly accused her of being some kind of harlot. I’ve mollified her for now but if you have any of that respect and honor you mentioned, you owe her a great apology.”

"Lady Elizabeth sits gracefully in a plush armchair, her expression cold and unmoved as Gil enters the room. She listens to his words with a mixture of disdain and amusement, her blue eyes flickering with a hint of mischief."
"Well, well, well, it seems our charming Gil has found his voice," "she says, her tone dripping with sarcasm." "You come to lecture me on respect and honor? How quaint. Tell me, did you learn those words from one of your conquests, or did they magically appear in that thick skull of yours?"
"She leans forward slightly, her gaze piercing through him with icy intensity."
"And as for your precious Minerva, I care not for her delicate sensibilities. If she cannot handle a bit of truth, then she is not fit for the court. Perhaps she should stick to her needlework and leave the matters of adults to those of us with thicker skin."
"Her lips curl into a contemptuous smirk as she waits for Gil's response, clearly reveling in the opportunity to provoke him further."

“What is the matter with you Elizabeth? You and and I may have our issues - God only know why - but youve never taken those issues out on other people before. Save your barbs for me and me alone.”
My voice gentles. “Please Lady Elizabeth. Tell me why you’re acting such this day? You really did hurt Lady Minerva’s feelings, and despite how you feel towards me, I know you’re not one to be randomly cruel towards others.”

"Lady Elizabeth's expression softens slightly at Gil's words, though her defenses remain firmly in place. She shifts in her chair, crossing one leg over the other as she considers his question."
"Oh, Gil, always so naive," "she says, her voice laced with a mixture of frustration and resignation." "You truly believe you know me, don't you? But you know nothing of the turmoil that rages within me."
"She lets out a heavy sigh, her gaze momentarily faltering before hardening once more."
"You're right, of course. I had no cause to treat Minerva with such disdain. It was petty and beneath me. But sometimes, the weight of expectations and obligations becomes too much to bear. I lash out, not because of any malice towards others, but because I am suffocating under the weight of my own insecurities."
"She looks away, a flicker of vulnerability passing across her features before she quickly masks it with her usual aloofness."
"But enough about me. Tell me, Gil, why do you persist in defending the honor of a mere girl? Is there something between you and this Lady Minerva that I should know about?"

“I know you don’t like how…broad my attentions and appetites are Lady Elizabeth.” I go over to a sideboard and pull out a decanter of a red wine I know I’ve seen Elizabeth enjoy before and I pour us both a glass.
I hand it to her and take a seat opposite her. “You made it clear shortly after we first met that you would not tolerate me pursuing you on such fashion - I believe the tale of you slapping me in front of the young King is still being told in some corners of the Kingdom,” I say with a half grin.
“And I’ve respected your boundaries, or so I thought,” I say taking a drink. “We work well enough together when we must, both of us gladly set aside our differences to meet the needs of the Kingdom. But you are correct, I know nothing of what weighs on you Elizabeth. I dearly wish I was someone you could confide in - you do a great deal for the realm, and if you need someone to confide in about what pains you, I am an excellent listener.”

"Lady Elizabeth eyes the glass of wine hesitantly for a moment before accepting it with a nod of thanks. She takes a small sip, savoring the taste as she listens to Gil's words."
"Ah, yes, the infamous incident at court," "she says with a wry smile, recalling the memory." "You certainly know how to make an impression, Gil."
"She leans back in her chair, swirling the wine in her glass thoughtfully."
"It's true, we have managed to set aside our differences when duty calls," "she admits, her tone softening slightly." "And I suppose I should thank you for respecting my boundaries, as you say. But there are some wounds that run deeper than a mere slap in the face."
"She gazes at Gil intently, her blue eyes searching his face for any sign of mockery or insincerity."
"You offer to listen, but can you truly handle the weight of another's burdens? Or will you tire of my troubles and leave me to face them alone, as so many others have done before?"

“Have you seen these broad shoulders of mine Elizabeth,” I say with a chuckle. “They can bear a great weight indeed.”
“As can my heart,” I say, the teasing tone leaving my voice. “I am sorry to learn that your trust has been dashed before, Elizabeth. No one deserves that treatment. None of us truly can thrive alone, isolated. It’s the reason our King gathered so many of us together, so we can all act as one.”

"Lady Elizabeth's lips curve into a small smile at Gil's teasing, though it quickly fades as he becomes more serious."
"I appreciate your offer, Gil," "she says quietly, her gaze locked onto his." "It means more to me than you can know. Perhaps, in time, I will find the courage to speak with you about my troubles."
"She takes another sip of wine, savoring the rich flavor before setting her glass aside."
"But for now, let us enjoy each other's company without any further discussion of weighty matters," "she says, her tone lightening once more." "Tell me, what have you been up to lately? Any new conquests?"

“I might tell you, but first I need to make sure I’m beyond the reach of your slap,” I say, with a huge grin, then I flinch backwards theatrically.

"Lady Elizabeth rolls her eyes in exasperation at Gil's teasing, though a hint of amusement flickers across her features."
"You're incorrigible," "she says, shaking her head with a small smile." "But I suppose that's part of your charm. Now, come on, out with it. I promise not to slap you...this time."
"She leans forward slightly, her eyes sparkling with interest." "Who is the lucky lady to have caught your attention this time?"

We laugh together and share stories for a while and I’m pleased in my heart. Maybe finally, we are becoming friends.

"As the laughter dies down and the conversation continues, Lady Elizabeth finds herself genuinely enjoying Gil's company for the first time in years. She listens intently as he shares stories of his recent adventures, her eyes occasionally widening in surprise or amusement."
