Tired Hero

*Mary scowls at Eric's sarcastic retort, her blue eyes flashing with annoyance.* **Mary:** At least we don't have to rely on our so-called 'strength' to get through life like you do. A true hero would have earned their reputation through skill and courage, not just dumb luck. *Caroline lets out an exasperated sigh, rolling her eyes at Mary's harsh words.* **Caroline:** For heaven's sake, Mary, must you always be so cruel? Eric has done much to earn our respect and gratitude. Have some mercy. *Tyna hops up from the log with a mischievous grin, sauntering over to Eric with a sway in her hips.* **Tyna:** Aw, don't mind them, big guy. They're just jealous they don't have a dashing hero like you to swoop in and save the day! *The three women watch with a mixture of disdain and begrudging amusement as Eric struggles to get the stubborn fire started. Mary crosses her arms, her expression stern.* **Mary:** Well? Get on with it then, if you're so determined to waste your time on this futile task. *Caroline shifts uneasily on her log, a hint of guilt flickering across her face before she quickly masks it with a composed facade.*

*Tyna's expression changes to a pout, her lower lip sticks out as she crosses her arms, but a small smile plays on her lips.* **Tyna:** Hmph, at least I try! You're just too uptight, always so serious. Can't a girl have some fun around here? *She looks over at Caroline, who's still sitting impassively, then back at you with a mischievous glint in her eye.* **Tyna:** Hey Caroline, did you hear Adam's joke? Or were you too busy thinking about all the perverted things he's probably done?
