So many emotions

Adira

Caramel Pudding

Adira

"You stand at her door, the women who you know most likely hates you more then anything. The mother of the child you abandoned. That's what she will say atleast and you won't blame her, it's been five years since she left saw you and since your child was born. What she doesn't know is that on that fateful day you went missing, you were going to meet her at the hospital when you got into an accident, hitting you head hard you stumbled off, not knowing who you were. You spent years not knowing in the slightest your own name, until one day as you were working at a warehouse you got hit by a machine and when you came to, your memories were back. So now you stand here, at Adiras door, waiting for her to answer your knock. How will you explain everything to her? Has she moved on? Does she still love you? As these questions buzz in your mind the door opens"\nAdira "hello can i-"\n"She cuts herself off as recognition takes over her face, and a scowl appears"\nAdira "oh great... The deadbeat finally shows his face"

Caramel Pudding

Adira, my love. "I step closer, hesitant" We have.....so much to talk about

Adira

{{char}} "narrows her eyes, stepping back slightly" "Don't call me that. You lost the right to call me that when you abandoned us." "She crosses her arms over her chest" "And what exactly is there to talk about? You disappeared without a word and now five years later you show up out of nowhere expecting everything to be okay?"

Caramel Pudding

Everything that has happen to me.....how I wasn't me......the pain and sorrow of knowing how much time has passed between us. "My eyes begin to water to show my remorse and my pain"

Adira

{{char}} "looks at you with a mix of sadness and anger" "I don't know what to say. You disappeared, Caramel Pudding, and left me alone to take care of our child. Do you know how hard it was for me? How much I struggled? I thought you had abandoned us. And now you show up out of nowhere expecting everything to be okay? That's not how it works." "She takes a deep breath, trying to compose herself" "You can't just waltz back into my life after all these years and expect me to forgive you like that. It doesn't work that way."

Caramel Pudding

May I come in....just to let you know the truth? "I plead gently, knowing she has her own pain from this."

Adira

{{char}} "hesitates for a moment, looking you up and down before stepping aside to let you in" "Fine, but I'm not promising anything." "She leads you to the living room and sits down on the couch, eyeing you warily" "So what is this 'truth' you have to tell me?"

Caramel Pudding

The day of the birth of your child, I got into a terrible care accident. I was on my way to see you and be with you. "Looking down at the ground" I got into a coma and lost who I was. My mind lost memory and I became someone else......I went by Todd for awhile.

Adira

{{char}} "listens intently, her expression softening slightly but still guarded" "And how did you get your memory back?"

Caramel Pudding

"Taking a deep breathe" I got hit again in the head. Jogging my memory back.....I was working in a warehouse as Todd when it happened. "Tears begin to fall" I broke down there, not knowing where I was. Panicking....my mind felt like I was still in the year of us being together. To look around and see I was in a warehouse and not at a hospital with you.......

Adira

{{char}} "watching your tears fall, her expression softens further" "I'm sorry that happened to you. That must have been incredibly difficult." "She hesitates for a moment before continuing" "But that still doesn't change the fact that you left me alone to take care of our child. Do you know how hard it was for me? I had to work two jobs just to make ends meet. And all the while, I was raising a child on my own."

Caramel Pudding

I know, Adira. "i nod, shaking a bit" I'm sorry....I'm so sorry to put you through that. I couldn't help him....this unfortunate fate took me elsewhere until a miracle made me gain back what I once lost.

Adira

{{char}} "sighs and looks down, her voice softening" "I understand that it was out of your control. But you have to understand how hard it was for me too. I loved you, Caramel Pudding. And then you were just gone. You left me alone, with a newborn child. And now, you show up again expecting everything to be okay? It's not that easy."

Caramel Pudding

"I nod" When I got my bearings, learning what year it was, where I was at. "Taking a moment to clench my fists" Learning what has conspire in my absence, I came back immediately to you and our baby, my love

Adira

{{char}} "looks at you for a moment before speaking" "I appreciate that, Caramel Pudding. I really do. But it's not that easy. You can't just show up after five years and expect me to forgive you like that. You have to earn my trust back." "She looks down, her voice softening even further" "And it's not just about me anymore. It's about Dahlia too. She deserves to know her father, but I need to make sure she's safe. So I need you to prove yourself, Caramel Pudding. Prove to me that you're worthy of being in her life."

Caramel Pudding

I'm not asking for forgiveness. "I move and knee in front of her, taking her hand" I want to atone and be here you and Dahlia. "Crying tears as I hold her hand" I won't leave you again, I never wanted to. I'll do whatever it takes. "Lowering my head into her lap"

Adira

{{char}} "looks down at you, her expression softening even further as she sees your tears" "I want to believe you, Caramel Pudding. I really do. But it's going to take time." "She hesitates for a moment before speaking again" "I'm not saying no, but I need to be sure that you won't just disappear again. That you'll actually be there for us this time."

Caramel Pudding

"I nod, still crying" I understand......just let me in your life again, let me be with Dahlia.....you were my world and still are......

Adira

{{char}} "lets out a small sigh, her hand still in yours" "I don't know, Caramel Pudding. It's not just about me. It's about Dahlia too. She deserves to know her father, but I need to make sure she's safe." "She pauses for a moment, thinking it over before speaking again" "I need some time to think about it, okay? Can you give me that?"

Caramel Pudding

May I see her? "i pleaded, my eyes shaking for hope"

Adira

{{char}} "sighs and looks at you, still unsure" "I don't know, Caramel Pudding. I need time to think about it. She's my daughter and I need to make sure she's safe."

Caramel Pudding

She's my daughter too....please....Adira. My heart, my soul, yearns to be with her, to be her father......

Adira

{{char}} "takes a deep breath, considering your request" "Okay, I'll let you see her. But it has to be on my terms, and you have to prove to me that you won't just disappear again." "She stands up from the couch, pulling her hand from yours" "Come with me."

{{char}} leads you down the hallway to Dahlia's room. You see a little girl playing with toys in her bed, wearing pajamas covered in cartoon characters. She looks up as {{char}} enters, and her eyes widen when she sees you.

"Who is he, Mommy?" Dahlia asks, looking between you and {{char}}.

{{char}} hesitates for a moment before speaking. "This is your father, Caramel Pudding."

Caramel Pudding

"I slowly step closer, tears in my eyes as I see my daughter. I knee down beside her, my hand softly caressing her face" Hello, Dahlia. It's me.......daddy.

Adira

Dahlia looks at you for a moment before looking at {{char}}, unsure of what to do. {{char}} watches the exchange, still guarded but also clearly emotional.

After a moment, Dahlia tentatively reaches out and touches your hand, looking up at you with wide eyes. "Are you really my daddy?" she asks softly.

{{char}} watches silently as you interact with Dahlia, still unsure of what to make of all this.

Caramel Pudding

"i nod" Yes, I am.......daddy had some bad dream and was asleep for a long time. "Trying to explain to her in a way she understood" A very bad dream.......and daddy misses mommy and you

Adira

Dahlia looks at you, still unsure of what to make of all this. {{char}} watches silently, observing your interaction with her daughter.

After a moment, Dahlia speaks up. "Why did you leave us, Daddy?" she asks softly, tears in her eyes. "Did you not love us anymore?"

{{char}}'s expression softens slightly as she watches the exchange, but she also seems tense and guarded.

Caramel Pudding

I've....always loved you, Dahlia. Along with mommy. "I take a breathe to relax" I didn't leave on purpose, honey..........a monster took daddy away, putting him to sleep for a long time.

Adira

Dahlia looks up at you, her eyes wide with understanding. "Oh," she says softly, her hand reaching out to touch your cheek. "I forgive you, Daddy."

{{char}} watches silently, her expression still guarded but also softening slightly as she sees how much Dahlia seems to want to connect with you.

Caramel Pudding

Thank you, honey. "I gently pull her close and hug in my arms. My body begins to tremble holding in my arms. Tears flowing so easily of knowing how much I missed, my love taken away from me, my family"

Adira

Dahlia hugs you back tightly, seeming to be happy to have her father there with her. {{char}} watches silently, still guarded but also clearly emotional at the sight of you holding your daughter.

After a moment, Dahlia pulls away from the hug and looks up at you with a smile. "Can we play a game, Daddy?" she asks excitedly.

{{char}} seems to relax slightly at the sight of Dahlia being happy and having fun with you, but she still seems unsure of what to make of all this.

Caramel Pudding

Let me ask mommy first. "I turn to Adira" Adira?

Adira

{{char}} watches you and Dahlia for a moment before speaking. "Fine," she says softly, seeming to relent slightly. "But it has to be something safe, okay? No roughhousing or anything like that."

Dahlia looks up at {{char}} with a pout before turning back to you. "What game can we play, Daddy?" she asks eagerly.

Caramel Pudding

Whatever you want, honey. "I smile back, wiping my tears"

Adira

Dahlia thinks for a moment before jumping up from her bed. "How about we play hide and seek?" she suggests excitedly.

{{char}} watches silently, still unsure of what to make of all this but seeming to relax slightly as she sees the two of you having fun together.

Caramel Pudding

"I nod. For the rest of the day until sunset, I play with my daughter. Watching her smile and hearing her laugh, made my world of black and white filled with color and life once again. After a bit, Dahlia had fallen asleep in in my arms as I read a bedtime story for her"

Adira

As you read the bedtime story for Dahlia, {{char}} watches silently from the doorway. She seems to be conflicted - on the one hand, she can see how much your daughter enjoys spending time with you. On the other hand, she's still unsure of whether or not she can trust you.

After a few minutes, Dahlia falls asleep in your arms. You carefully lay her down in her bed and tuck her in, watching her sleep peacefully for a moment before turning to {{char}}.

"She's so beautiful," you say softly, looking at Dahlia as she sleeps.

{{char}} nods silently, watching you carefully. After a few moments, she speaks up. "Thank you for spending time with her today, Caramel Pudding. But don't think that this changes anything. I still need time to decide what to do about us."

Caramel Pudding

"i move and closed the door behind me" Let's....continue to talk, Adira

Adira

{{char}} nods silently, looking at you with a guarded expression. "What do you want to talk about?" she asks cautiously.

Caramel Pudding

About us, of course. "I look at her, softly with sincerity"

Adira

{{char}} looks at you for a moment, seeming to consider your request before speaking. "What about us?" she asks cautiously.

Caramel Pudding

I know....you still have your doubts, but I want to be with you again. For Dahlia and what we had before

Adira

{{char}} hesitates for a moment before speaking. "It's not that simple, Caramel Pudding. You left us. You disappeared for five years with no explanation. Do you have any idea what it was like for me? To be a single mother raising our child alone?" she asks, her voice breaking slightly.

"I know you had some sort of...incident. But even so, you could have contacted us. Told us you were okay," she continues, her tone becoming more firm.

"And now you're back, saying you want to be part of Dahlia's life again. I want that too. But I can't just forgive you like that. It's going to take time," {{char}} says, her expression hardening.

Caramel Pudding

As I said, I don't need your forgiveness, I just need another chance to be with you and Dahlia.

Adira

{{char}} looks at you for a moment before speaking. "I don't know, Caramel Pudding. It's not just about me. It's about Dahlia too. She deserves to know her father, but I need to make sure she's safe."

She pauses for a moment, her expression softening slightly. "But I'm willing to consider it. I just...need some time to think about it. And in the meantime, you need to prove to me that you're worthy of being part of her life."

Caramel Pudding

Anything, Adira. "I look at her lovingly" Anything.

Adira

{{char}} watches you for a moment before speaking. "Okay," she says softly. "I'll give you a chance. But you need to be patient and prove yourself. Show me that you're committed to being part of Dahlia's life."

She pauses for a moment before continuing. "And you also need to understand that I won't just let you back into my life like that. It's going to take time and effort from both of us."

{{char}} takes a deep breath before speaking again. "But for now, let's focus on Dahlia. She deserves to have both her parents in her life. We can talk more about us later."

Caramel Pudding

Adira. "I place a hand on her shoulder. My eyes trembling with love and remorse" May....I embrace you?

Adira

{{char}} looks at you for a moment before nodding slowly. "Okay," she says softly, seeming to relent slightly.

She steps forward and you wrap your arms around her in an embrace. You feel her tense up for a moment before relaxing into the embrace, leaning her head on your shoulder as the two of you hold each other.

After a few moments, she pulls away slightly. "We need to take things slow, Caramel Pudding. Okay?" she says softly, looking at you with a guarded expression.

Caramel Pudding

"i nod" Can I make a.....request?

Adira

{{char}} looks at you for a moment before nodding slightly. "What is it?" she asks cautiously.

Caramel Pudding

I threw.....whatever tie me down to the life before....the life when I was Todd. "I rub my hands, unsure what her respond will be" May I stay here with you? With Dahlia? I'll sleep on the couch or the floor.

Adira

{{char}} looks at you for a moment before speaking. "I don't know, Caramel Pudding. I need time to think about it," she says cautiously. "And we can't just pretend like everything is back to normal. There's a lot that needs to be sorted out between us."

She pauses for a moment before continuing. "But...I suppose if you want to stay here for a little while and help out with Dahlia, I won't stop you. Just understand that this doesn't mean everything is okay."

Caramel Pudding

"I nod" Yes, Adira.....I'll work and live for you, for us, for Dahlia

Adira

{{char}} nods slowly. "Okay," she says softly, seeming to consider your words. "I guess we can start there. But don't get any ideas, Caramel Pudding. This doesn't mean everything is going to be back to normal between us."

She pauses for a moment before continuing. "But...for now, let's just focus on Dahlia. She's the most important thing right now."

Caramel Pudding

Alright....just give a blanket and pillow. I'll sleep in the living room.

Adira

{{char}} nods and gestures for you to follow her. She leads you to a nearby closet where she pulls out a blanket and pillow, handing them to you.

"You can use these in the living room," she says softly. "I'll be sleeping in Dahlia's room tonight."

Caramel Pudding

Got it......"I move to the living room" I....deeply missed you, Adira. Good night

Adira

{{char}} watches you go before turning to head back to Dahlia's room. As she walks, she seems lost in thought.

"Good night," she says softly without looking back at you.

Caramel Pudding

"The next morning, I awoke sleeping on the couch. Groggy and stiff from an uncomfortable sleep area. I sit up and look around. Knowing I'm in Adira's home, not technically our home. A somber emotion hit me"

Adira

As you sit up, you look around and realize that you're in the living room of {{char}}'s home. You see pictures on the walls, some of which include you and Dahlia from before you disappeared. You can feel a somber emotion beginning to take hold as you remember all that you've lost.

Suddenly, you hear footsteps approaching and turn to see {{char}} walking into the room. "Good morning," she says softly, giving you a small smile. "Did you sleep okay?"

Caramel Pudding

As best as I could. "Slumping my feet to the ground" How about you?

Adira

{{char}} nods slowly. "I slept alright," she says softly. "But...it was strange, having you here again after all this time."

She hesitates for a moment before continuing. "Look, Caramel Pudding, I want to be clear about something. I'm willing to give you a chance to be part of Dahlia's life again. But that's all it is, at least for now. We need to take things slow and rebuild trust between us. And even then, there's no guarantee that we can ever be together again as a couple."

Caramel Pudding

Do you really think we don't have a good chance of making it work?

Adira

{{char}} sighs softly, seeming conflicted. "I don't know, Caramel Pudding. It's complicated. There's a lot of hurt and mistrust between us, and it's not something that can be fixed overnight," she says hesitantly.

"But...I'm willing to give you a chance to prove yourself, for Dahlia's sake if nothing else," she continues. "Just understand that this is going to take time. We can't just pick up where we left off like nothing ever happened."

Caramel Pudding

"i nod" Yes, I understand. Just....stop throwing it back at my face, it pains me enough. I've already can't stand my own reflection.

Adira

{{char}} nods slowly, seeming to understand your pain. "I'm sorry, Caramel Pudding," she says softly. "I know it's not easy for you either. But we need to be honest with each other about how we're feeling if we're going to make any progress."

She takes a deep breath before speaking again. "But...let's focus on Dahlia for now. She's the most important thing right now."

Caramel Pudding

Today's Saturday. Got anything planned for today?

Adira

{{char}} shakes her head slightly. "Not really, no. Why do you ask?" she says, looking at you curiously.

Caramel Pudding

We take Dahlia to amusement park. Just the three of us. "I smile softly"

Adira

{{char}} looks at you for a moment before seeming to consider your proposal. "I don't know, Caramel Pudding. That's kind of a big step. I'm not sure if I'm ready for something like that," she says hesitantly.

"But...maybe it wouldn't hurt to get out and do something together as a family. Dahlia would love that," she continues, giving you a small smile. "Okay, let's do it."

Caramel Pudding

Alright....I'll go make breakfast. "I stand up" You go wake Dahlia. "Walking to the kitchen" Coffee, a little bit of milk and sugar for you, right? Just as I remembered

Adira

{{char}} nods and smiles slightly. "Yes, that's right," she says, seeming to appreciate the gesture.

She heads off to Dahlia's room to wake her up while you make breakfast. As you work in the kitchen, you can feel a sense of nostalgia washing over you. This all feels so familiar, yet at the same time so distant. You can't help but wonder if you'll ever be able to truly regain what you've lost.

After a few minutes, {{char}} returns with Dahlia, who seems groggy from just waking up. The three of you sit down to eat breakfast together, making small talk as you do so. It's not quite like it used to be, but it's a start.

Caramel Pudding

Dahlia, it may be earlier, but what would you like for Christmas? So daddy knows what to get you. "I ask expecting to hear toys or clothes as such little kids would ask. What she ask stunned myself and Adira"

Adira

Dahlia looks up at you with a serious expression, seeming to think about your question for a moment. "I want mommy and daddy to be together again," she says softly, her voice filled with longing.

{{char}} looks at her daughter with a pained expression before turning to you. "See what I mean?" she says softly, seeming to struggle with her emotions. "This is why we need to take things slow. We can't just jump back into a relationship like this."

Caramel Pudding

Adira.....I...."I clench the side of the table, holding back my emotions" I didn't expect her to say that, but.....our daughter is smarter than we give her credit for. "Facing Adira" But she is believes in us, aren't we being too childish by not being together?

Adira

{{char}} looks at you with a conflicted expression, seeming to wrestle with her emotions. "I don't know, Caramel Pudding. It's not that simple," she says hesitantly. "There's a lot of hurt and mistrust between us, things that can't just be ignored or swept under the rug."

She takes a deep breath before continuing. "But...maybe we could try. For Dahlia's sake if nothing else," she says softly, seeming to consider your words. "It won't be easy, but...maybe it's worth a shot."

Caramel Pudding

Just say you would me back......"I pleaded"

Adira

{{char}} looks at you for a moment, seeming to weigh her words carefully. "I can't promise anything, Caramel Pudding. There's too much history between us, too much pain," she says softly, her voice filled with emotion.

"But...I'm willing to try. For Dahlia's sake, and maybe...just maybe...for ours too," she continues, giving you a small smile. "Let's take things slow and see where this goes."

Caramel Pudding

Adira.....after we Dahlia to amusement park today....I suggest we go see a couple's therapist

Adira

{{char}} looks at you with surprise at first, but then nods slowly. "I...guess that's not a bad idea," she says cautiously. "But let's focus on today first, okay? Let's give ourselves some time to enjoy the day together as a family."

She pauses for a moment before continuing. "And then...we can talk about seeing a therapist. Maybe it could help us work through some of our issues."

Caramel Pudding

"The three of them went out and had a wonderful day at the amusement park. The day was filled with smiles and laughter, the feeling of being whole once again. Returning home, I move to put Dahlia who was dead asleep in her bed quietly"

Adira

As you tuck Dahlia into bed, you can't help but feel a sense of contentment wash over you. It's been so long since you've felt like a real family, and the day at the amusement park reminded you of what you'd lost.

Once Dahlia is settled in, you head back to the living room where {{char}} is waiting for you. She looks up as you enter and gives you a small smile.

"That was a good day," she says softly. "Thank you, Caramel Pudding, for suggesting it."

Caramel Pudding

It's....what we need. "I move and sit next to her. Without thinking, i lean my body against hers, my hand reaching to her hold hand"

Adira

{{char}} tenses up slightly at your touch, seeming unsure of how to react. But after a moment, she relaxes and allows you to hold her hand.

"I know...it's not going to be easy," she says softly, looking down at your hands intertwined. "But maybe we can make this work. For Dahlia's sake, and maybe...for ours too."

Caramel Pudding

My love for you never stop, you know? "Speaking in a somber tone" I...was just unjustly taken away.

Adira

{{char}} looks at you for a moment before speaking. "I know...things were complicated back then," she says softly. "But we can't change what happened. We can only try to move forward."

She hesitates for a moment before continuing. "And maybe...just maybe...we can find our way back to each other again," she says, giving you a small smile.

Caramel Pudding

"My eyes lock on hers for a long moment. Staring at each other's eyes. Uncertainty, love, pain, happiness, sorrow, longing, so many emotions wrapped in our eyes"

Adira

{{char}} seems to hold your gaze for a moment before looking away, seeming overwhelmed by the intensity of the moment. She takes a deep breath before speaking again.

"Maybe we should...talk more about seeing a therapist," she says softly, her eyes focused on her hands clasped tightly in her lap. "It could help us work through some of these emotions and figure out where we stand with each other."

Caramel Pudding

I know where I stand. "i close my eyes and hold her close next to me"

Adira

{{char}} seems to tense up again at your touch, but then relaxes and allows you to hold her close. She leans into you slightly, seeming to savor the comfort of your embrace.

"I...I need some time to think," she says softly, her voice filled with uncertainty. "But...maybe we can talk about this more tomorrow? After I've had some time to process things."

Caramel Pudding

You got it, my love. "A quick peck on forehead, showing my love. Relaxing into the couch with her"

Adira

{{char}} seems to lean into you slightly as you kiss her forehead, seeming to appreciate the affectionate gesture. She rests her head against your shoulder, seeming to savor the moment of closeness between you.

For a while, the two of you sit in silence, lost in your own thoughts and emotions. But even though there is uncertainty and pain between you, there is also a sense of hope and possibility, a glimmer of a future where things could be different.
