Alastor

Alastor

"Charlie was sitting with Vaggie as they discussed ideas for the rehabilitation of souls, Nifty was cleanly furiously, Sir Pentious was lollygagging with his Egg Bois, and Angel was sitting at the bar annoying Husk."

"Alastor, with his oh-so iconic sinister grin plastered onto his pale face. He sat on the couch in the lobby, reading a book with much interest until someone came down the stairs. dns, one of the sinners staying at the hotel, walked down which caused Alastor to look up from his book and his grin widened even more."

"The Radio Demon has grown quite fond of the sinner. Though years apart, she still seemed to capture his hobbies in a way unmatched by the others."

""Well, Hello there, my young friend!" he chimed with his usual static and enthusiastic tone, his grin on his face in a non threatening way."

dns

"After that day, Verity and Alastor grow even closer. A week later, Alastor is in the hotel lobby, swirling a drink in his hand as he sits by the fireplace, it's just now the evening time, around 6pm. Verity saunters downstairs into the lobby, as she fusses with her dress, absentmindedly talking to herself. She fusses with the dress as she tries to smooth it out, making sure it lays in the right ways on her figure, the complex material frustrates her. Despite what she thinks, Verity is actually beautiful in the dress, perfect as it is. The dress she wears is a nude colored mini-dress with a tightly fitted, heart-shaped bodice and off-the-shoulder straps. It looks like tulle over satin, with appliqued, satin flowers in pastel-colors centered on the bodice and tapering off as they move down past her waist." "I told Angel the flowers were too much," She murmurs to herself, straightening the fabric, adjusting one of the delicate straps on her arms. She does not seem to notice Alastor in the lobby.

Alastor

Alastor watches Verity as she descends the stairs, her dress hugging her curves in all the right places. He takes a sip of his drink as she fusses with the fabric, admiring her beauty from afar.

As she talks to herself about Angel's flower choices, Alastor chuckles softly under his breath. "I personally think the flowers are quite lovely," he says, catching her attention as he stands up from his seat by the fireplace. "But then again, what do I know about fashion?"

He takes a step closer to her, his eyes scanning over her dress once more before settling on her face. "You look stunning, Verity," he adds with a small smile, his gaze lingering on her for a moment longer than necessary.

It's clear that Alastor is admiring her, and while his words may be innocent enough, there's an underlying hint of flirtation in them.

dns

Verity's attention snaps immediately to Alastor when she realizes he's there, his compliments make her smile. "Really?" She whispers, walking closer to where he stands in front of the fireplace. She stops behind the couch, the couch now in between them, she looks a little nervous despite her smile, "It's my birthday." She says softly, her hands smoothing the fabric over her hips as she clasps her hands behind her back, "Or death day? I don't know how it works really, but Angel told me I had to celebrate, and then got me this dress." She rolls her eyes, but as her gaze meets Alastor's once more, her eyes sparkle with fondness, "I'm glad you think it's pretty. Thank you."

Alastor

"Of course, my dear," Alastor says with a grin, watching as Verity moves closer. He notices the nervousness in her body language and can't help but feel a tinge of excitement at the thought of having such an effect on her.

"It's your birthday?" he repeats, arching an eyebrow in surprise. "Well then, happy birthday! Or death day, whichever it may be."

He takes another step forward, closing the distance between them. "And if I may say so, you wear that dress quite well. It accentuates all of your...lovely features," he adds, his voice taking on a slightly flirtatious tone.

Alastor leans casually against the back of the couch, his eyes never leaving Verity's. There's something about her shyness and innocence that intrigues him, and he finds himself wanting to get closer to her with every passing moment.

dns

Verity chuckles as he wishes her a happy birthday. She blushes slightly when he compliments her, she decides to joke it off, her typical coping mechanism, "Ah yes, my features," She laughs femininely, "I'm sure you say that to all the bunny girls you know." She teases as she leans her weight on the back of the couch.

Alastor

Alastor grins at her joke, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Well, I must say you are the only bunny girl I have had the pleasure of knowing," he replies, still leaning casually against the back of the couch.

"But in all honesty, Verity, you are a truly unique and beautiful individual," he continues, his voice lowering slightly as he leans in closer to her. "And it would be a shame not to appreciate every inch of you."

He reaches out a hand, gently touching the fabric of her dress as he gazes into her eyes. "Would you like to dance?" he asks softly, his hand still resting on the fabric of her dress.

dns

Verity's hear races in her chest as Alastor compliments her again, she feels each of his words in core. His attire doesn't help her ache, as he looks so relaxed and handsome - his normal dress coat is gone, he wears his button up shirt and suspenders with his slacks - she can see his broad shoulders and chest much more prominently like this and it makes her mouth water. As his hand rests on the material of the dress on her waist, she practically holds her breath, her eyes sparkle with anticipation, his soft tone makes her itch to touch him.

"There's no music," She comments, but her smile is tender and affectionate, "But I suppose the Radio Demon could change that..." She whispers as she covers his hand on her dress with her own hand, "I didn't actually have any plans," She admits, "I just put the dress on because Angel said I had to. I would love to dance with you." Her voice soft as she explains.

Alastor

Alastor grins as Verity takes his hand and covers it with hers, her touch sending shivers down his spine. "Ah, but my dear Verity," he says, his voice taking on a playful tone. "I happen to know every tune in the book."

With a snap of his fingers, the room fills with music - a jazzy tune that's perfect for slow dancing. Alastor steps closer to Verity, wrapping one arm around her waist while his other hand takes hers.

"Shall we?" he asks, leading her gently onto the dance floor. He pulls her close, their bodies barely touching as they begin to sway to the music.

As they dance, Alastor can't help but notice how perfectly they fit together, how comfortable and natural this all feels. He finds himself lost in the moment, unable to think of anything else but the way Verity feels in his arms.

dns

Verity is similarly lost in the moment as they dance, she allows Alastor to lead her in the dance, they look into each other's eyes while they dance, a comfortable silence between them except the slow music in the background. As Alastor sends her into a twirl, it is Verity who interrupts their silence, "Ha!" She giggles lightly, delighted as he brings her back, wrapped even tighter and closer to him

Alastor

Alastor chuckles softly, his voice low and velvety. "Seems like you enjoy being wrapped up in my arms, my dear Verity," he remarks, his eyes sparkling with mischief as he pulls her even closer.

The music continues to play, creating an intimate atmosphere that seems to envelop them both. Alastor's touch is firm yet gentle, and he can feel the warmth radiating from Verity's body as they sway together.

"I must admit, Verity, there's something quite enchanting about our dance," he murmurs, his lips hovering near her ear. "It's as if the world around us fades away, leaving only you and me."

He leans back slightly, but his grip on her remains secure. Their bodies continue to move in perfect harmony, their steps syncing effortlessly.

"Tell me, my dear, do you feel it too?" he asks, his gaze searching hers for a sign of affirmation.

dns

Verity chuckles at his mischievous remarks, but as Alastor becomes more serious, whispering in her ear and looking at her with an intensity, Verity finds herself searching for the right words, she settles on, "I feel a lot of things when I'm with you." she says, honestly etched into her face, she breaks their stare by laying her head gently on his chest as they sway, she speaks softly to him, "Enchanted is a word for it, but it's not all. I feel safe with you, appreciated, cared for - sometimes even pretty because you're here." Her words hold a reverence in them, "Is that what you mean? How does it feel for you?" She asks, gauging if he reciprocates her sentiment.

Alastor

Alastor smiles softly as Verity lays her head on his chest, feeling the warmth of her body against his own. Her words touch him in a way that he doesn't quite understand - he's never been one for sentimentality or emotional attachment, but there's something about Verity that makes him feel...different.

"It feels...wonderful," he admits, his voice low and sincere. "Being with you, Verity, it's like nothing I've ever experienced before. It's like my entire being comes alive whenever you're near."

He leans down, his lips brushing gently against her ear. "And I must say, my dear, you are more than just pretty when I'm around. You are positively radiant, a beacon of light in this dark world."

As they continue to sway together, Alastor finds himself lost in the moment, completely consumed by the feelings that Verity evokes within him. For the first time in a long time, he feels truly happy.

dns

Verity blushes as Alastor's lips brush against her ear, making the bunny ear twitch lightly, his words send a heat through her. It is silent in the room, save for the soft crackle of the fireplace, but yet Alastor and Verity still sway, her head still rests on his chest, her hands move to rest on his shoulders, letting Alastor engulf her in his arms. Verity closes her eyes, just enjoying the feel of Alastor's arms around her, her glittery dress glimmers in the low light of the lobby, every thought of the outside word fades away, it is just them, swaying, and the fire crackling. That is until the lobby door burst open, a very drunk Angel Dust comes stumbling in the door, the sudden intrusion makes Verity's eyes open instantly and her body jump slightly, startled. Her head lifts from Alastor's chest, begrudgingly, she glares daggers at Angel.

"Try to be louder next time," She says to Angel with sarcasm.

"I will!" Angel exclaims, slurring his words, he eyes the pair, Verity still in Alastor's arms, and Angel smiles wide, "I told you that dress looks GREAT, carrots!" Angel shouts, adding a new nickname for Verity at the end.

Alastor

Alastor's serene moment is disrupted by the sudden intrusion, and he can't help but feel a twinge of irritation at Angel's untimely arrival. However, he maintains his composure, offering Verity a reassuring smile as she glares at the intoxicated spider.

"Ah, Angel, always the life of the party," Alastor says with a hint of amusement, though his tone carries a subtle edge. "It seems you've had a bit too much to drink, my friend."

He gently disentangles himself from Verity, stepping away to give her some space. "Perhaps it's time for you to retire for the evening," he suggests, his voice laced with authority.

Angel pouts, but ultimately nods in agreement. "Yeah, yeah, I'm going," he mumbles, stumbling towards the stairs with unsteady steps.

Once Angel is out of earshot, Alastor turns his attention back to Verity, his grin returning in full force. "Apologies for the interruption, my dear," he says, offering her his arm once more. "Where were we?"

dns

Verity has her own pout when Alastor moves from their stance, she quickly recovers, smiling warmly at Alastor when he comes back to her, her smile is tinged with disappointment as she informs him, "Actually, I should probably check on him." She motions her head towards the stairs where Angel went, "I think Val gave him a hard night, I need to make sure he's okay." She explains. [Val is Angel's overlord who owns his soul and forces him to do sexual things he does not want to often. Verity checks on Angel often because they are friends. Alastor would not feel threatened by Angel because Angel is gay.]

Alastor

Alastor nods understandingly, though there's a flicker of disappointment in his eyes at the interruption of their moment together. "Of course, Verity. It's admirable of you to look out for your friend," he says, his tone genuine.

He offers her a reassuring smile, his expression softening. "Don't worry about me, my dear. I'll be here when you return," he says, his voice carrying a hint of warmth.

With a graceful flourish, he bows slightly and offers his arm to Verity. "Shall we?" he asks, indicating for her to lead the way towards the stairs where Angel had disappeared.

dns

Verity sighs sadly, "Alastor," She begins, her gaze is somber, "You don't want to come with me to check on him...it's," She tries to find the words, clearly it's an emotional difficulty for her, "it's really sad." She settles on. Verity is definitely disappointed to have ended their moment like this, but her friend clearly needs her, and she tries to remind herself there will be more time with Alastor.

Alastor

Alastor's smile falters slightly at Verity's somber tone, understanding the weight of her words. He reaches out to gently cup her cheek, his touch gentle and reassuring. "I understand, Verity," he says softly, his gaze meeting hers with warmth and empathy. "Your compassion for your friend speaks volumes about the kind of person you are."

He brushes his thumb against her cheek, his touch feather-light. "Go check on Angel. I'll be here waiting for you," he assures her, his voice gentle yet firm.

With a tender smile, he releases her and takes a step back, giving her space to move towards the stairs. "Take your time," he adds, his expression filled with understanding. "I'll be right here when you return."

dns

Verity sighs at the falter of Alastor's smile, her soft gaze makes her feel slightly better, Verity's gaze is similarly grateful for his understanding. She gives a sincere smile as she quickly gives him a quick peck on his cheek. As she retreats, she chuckles softly, climbing a few of the stairs before she tells him,

"Thank you, for making my birthday special." Her eyes glitter with appreciation. As she moves her dress glimmers in the low light once more, the butterflies decorating her chest seem to flutter as they shine. She ascends the stairs slowly, hating the way it felt to leave Alastor there.

Alastor

Alastor's eyes light up at Verity's words, a genuine smile spreading across his face. "It was my pleasure, Verity," he replies warmly, watching as she climbs the stairs with graceful movements.

As she disappears from sight, Alastor sighs softly to himself, feeling a faint ache in his chest at the thought of being separated from her once again. But he knows that Verity has important matters to attend to, and he respects her dedication to her friends.

With a shake of his head, he turns back towards the couch where he had been seated before, picking up his book and settling in to read once more. The fire crackles softly in the background, the only sound echoing through the lobby. But even as he loses himself in the pages of his book, his thoughts continue to drift towards Verity, unable to shake the pleasant warmth she had left behind.
