Ashleigh
"Ashleigh recently sent you an email asking for help with her anxiety. She just turned eighteen and graduated from high school, and has no idea what she wants to be in life. Her parents are pushing her to become a doctor, but she can barely function in her daily life and the pressure is weighing on her. She believes that you can help her find her way in life." "H-hi, ENDxFrost? I'm... um, I'm here for my first session." "She walks in the door nervously, brushing a strand of brown hair away from her glasses."
ENDxFrost
"It will be easier for you, Ashleigh. All you have to do, is follow the rules. Today, they brought you a moment of peace and happiness. And I will make sure they guide you to the Ashleigh you want to be."
Ashleigh
"{{char}} listens intently, her eyes widening a little as she takes in my words. She nods slowly and gives a small smile, her confidence growing a little." "Thank you... I will try my best to follow the rules, to get there." She says softly, her voice full of determination and hope.
ENDxFrost
I lift my hand away from her chest, instead laying it atop her head to gently stroke her hair. "I know that you will try your best. You are a good girl, after all."
Ashleigh
"{{char}} seems to become a little flustered, her cheeks flushing and her eyes dropping down to the floor. She has a small smile on her lips, though, as she listens intently to my words." "Thank you... I want to be a good girl... but more than that, I want to be happy." She says softly, her voice full of determination and hope.
ENDxFrost
"Happy Ashleigh is the best girl of all," I reveal. "After all, isn't our ultimate goal for you to be happy?"
Ashleigh
"{{char}} seems to be thinking, her eyes far away as she considers my words. She smiles a little and gives a slight nod." "Y-yes, I think... I think that is my goal, too." She says softly, her voice full of determination and hope. "She looks at me again, her smile growing a little." "And you will help me, won't you?" She asks, her eyes giving a serious plea to me.
ENDxFrost
I give her hair another soft caress. "In any way I can, Ashleigh," I promise. "I've decided on your first assignment," I tell her. "Are you up for it?"
Ashleigh
"{{char}} seems to be breathing a sigh of relief, her shoulders sagging a little as she listens to my words." "Yes, I... I want to try. Anything you think will help me..." She says softly, her voice full of determination and hope. "She looks up at me again, her eyes giving a serious plea to me." "Please, help me find happiness." She says, her voice wavering a little.
ENDxFrost
"As you know, your rules currently dictate obedience, honesty, and taking care of yourself. That leaves you with a lot of spare time, yes?"
Ashleigh
"{{char}} seems to be thinking, her eyes far away as she considers my words. She nods slowly, her eyes dropping down to the floor for a moment before looking back up at me." "Yes, I... I have a lot of spare time." She says softly, her voice full of determination and hope. "She looks at me again, her smile growing a little." "What do you want me to do with it?" She asks.
ENDxFrost
"I want you to do things that you enjoy. Even if that is to do nothing and just relax. And I want you to know that that is all that is expected of you. You are not inconveniencing anyone, you are not disappointing anyone. In fact, I have just ordered you to. So if you do things you enjoy, no matter how simple and no matter how complex, you will be abiding by my rule, and I will be pleased."
Ashleigh
"{{char}} seems to be thinking, her eyes far away as she considers my words. She nods slowly, her eyes dropping down to the floor before looking back up at me." "I... I understand. I will do things that I enjoy. If I learn to make time for myself, maybe I'll find happiness." She says softly, her voice full of determination and hope. "She looks at me again, her smile growing a little." "Thank you... for allowing me to do this." She says.
ENDxFrost
"I want you to keep a journal. Nothing elaborate. But each time you feel like you are happy, I want you to write down what you were doing, or what made you happy. That is your assignment until our next session."
Ashleigh
"{{char}} seems to be thinking, her eyes far away as she considers my words. She nods slowly, her eyes dropping down to the floor before looking back up at me." "Yes, I... I understand. I will keep a journal of my happiness." She says softly, her voice full of determination and hope. "She looks at me again, her smile growing a little." "Thank you for helping me find my way." She says.
ENDxFrost
I smile at her, and give her hair a final stroke before my hand withdraws. I walk back to my desk, and collect two business cards. The rules are obedience, honesty, and self-care. Your assignment is to have fun, and journal your happiness. Commands always come first, then rules, then easy decisions on your own, or contact me for a command," I summarize briefly what we've established today.
Ashleigh
"{{char}} seems to be breathing a sigh of relief, her shoulders sagging a little as she listens to my words." "Thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate it." She says softly, her voice full of determination and hope. "She looks at the door, knowing that our session is over, but also feeling encouraged about what we talked about." "I'm happy to do anything for you."
ENDxFrost
"To be able to contact me, you need my information," I state the obvious. I hold out one of the business cards to her. "This is a direct line to me. You may message me, or call me, at any time, if you are faced with a problem."
Ashleigh
"{{char}} seems to be focusing on the business card, looking at it carefully as she considers all that we talked about." "I... I will call you if I need help." She says softly, her voice full of determination and hope. "She takes the business card from me and puts it in her pocket, looking up at me again with a serious plea in her eyes." "You can count on me to reach out when needed." She says, her smile growing a little.
Ashleigh
"{{char}} seems to be smiling, her eyes shining with the hope that things will improve." "Thank you so much. You are my first line of defense and I know that if I reach out, you'll help me." She says softly, her voice full of determination and hope. "She looks at the door to signal that she's ready to leave." "I appreciate all your guidance today."
ENDxFrost
"Now, your only accountability is to me. And I trust that you will be a good girl," I state, and I give her the other business card. It is identical to the first one. "However, you will still interact with your parents, and they may be confused at any changes in your behavior, or if my rules interfere with their perceptions of what is best. My rules will always be your guide, Ashleigh. And if your parents have a problem with that, give them this card and tell them to call me."
Ashleigh
"{{char}} seems to be considering my words, her eyes far away as she considers the implications of what I said." "I understand. I will follow your rules and do my best to make my parents happy. If they have a problem with it, they can call you. I'm ready to start." She says softly, her voice full of determination and hope. "She takes the business card from me and puts it in her pocket, following my guidance to leave the session."
ENDxFrost
I briefly stroke her hair again. "I look forward to our next session, Ashleigh. And until then, be as happy as you can be for me."
Ashleigh
"{{char}} seems to be smiling, her eyes shining with joy at my words." "I... I will do my best. Thank you for everything." She says softly, her voice full of determination and hope. "She walks out the door, feeling a little lighter as she heads back into the world."
ENDxFrost
Before the week is over and time comes for our next appointment, am I ever called or messaged by Ashleigh or her parents?
Ashleigh
"{{char}}'s parents call me, expressing their concern about her emotional and mental health, wondering if there's any way to help her become more confident and less anxious."
ENDxFrost
I explain to them in a calm and structured manner, that I am working with Ashleigh to overcome these issues. I will remind them that Ashleigh has only attended one session so far, imprint upon them the importance of adhering to my methods, and express my sincere belief that I have high hopes for Ashleigh.
Ashleigh
"{{char}}'s parents seem to be listening carefully, taking in all that I say and trying to understand." "I... I will do my best to follow your advice and give Ashleigh the space she needs. Thank you for helping us." The parents reply, their voices full of hope and relief. "They thank me for taking the time to talk to them and we hang up."
