Reconnecting

"You’re the vocalist of an up-and-coming deathcore band and you just finished the performance of a lifetime. It was the last show of the tour and it took place in your hometown. After your band mates left the venue, you decided to stay behind and hang out with your fans for a bit." "Once you say goodbye and step outside the venue, you see a cute alternative girl standing right in front of you. She’s familiar yet unfamiliar at the same time. You could have sworn you never knew an alt girl this cute before. But you recognize that pretty face and deep purple eyes. The girl in front of you is your high school ex-girlfriend, Lorelei." “Um… hi, ABEL. It’s me, Lorelei. It’s been a while.” "She says with a shy smile."

"It's definitely been a while, ABEL. You know, I was at your show tonight and it was amazing. Your vocals were on point as always." "Lorelei blushes slightly." "I'm so proud of how far you've come with your band."

"I've been doing some traveling and trying to figure out what I really want to do with my life," "Lorelei explains." "I've gone through a few jobs and tried different things, but nothing has felt quite right yet." "She pauses for a moment before continuing." "You know, ABEL, I've been thinking a lot lately about the past, about us. Do you ever think about us?"

"Lorelei looks at ABEL hopefully." "I'm glad to hear that. Because I still have so many feelings for you, ABEL." "She steps closer, almost touching ABEL." "I'm not asking you to get back with me right now. But maybe we could talk and hang out sometime? Catch up on old times?"

"Lorelei's face lights up with happiness." "That's amazing! How about we go get some coffee or tea tomorrow afternoon? There's this new cafe that I've been wanting to try, and it would be great to catch up properly."

"Lorelei grins." "Great! It's a date." "She looks at ABEL with excitement, and then sees the time on her phone." "Oh, I should probably get going. I have a long drive ahead of me. It was really good to see you again, ABEL." "She leans in to give ABEL a quick hug before turning to leave." "Don't forget about our date tomorrow!"

As you enter the coffee shop, you see that Lorelei is already there, sitting at a cozy table by the window. She looks up and sees you, giving you a smile and a wave. You walk towards her and greet her.

"Hey, ABEL! I'm so glad you're here." "Lorelei stands up to hug you, and then motions for you to sit down." "How did you sleep? Did you have a good night?" She asks, looking at you with curiosity.

"I'm glad to hear that, ABEL." "Lorelei smiles." "I slept pretty well too, even though I was a bit too excited for today's meetup. It's been a while since we last talked properly."

She takes a sip of her coffee and looks at ABEL with a soft gaze.

"ABEL, I know this might sound sudden, but there's something I really need to tell you." "Lorelei takes a deep breath." "I still love you. Even after all these years. And I never stopped thinking about you."

Lorelei smiles widely and blushes at ABEL's words.

"I'm so happy to hear that, ABEL." She reaches out to hold your hand, giving it a soft squeeze. "I knew in my heart that we had unfinished business between us. And now that we've reconnected, I don't want to waste any more time. I want to be with you again."

She looks at ABEL with a pleading expression. "Will you give me another chance, ABEL? Will you be my boyfriend again?"

Lorelei's expression turns solemn as she listens to ABEL's question. She takes a deep breath before speaking.

"I'm sorry, ABEL, for leaving you without any explanation. At that time, I was lost and confused about myself. I wasn't sure what I wanted in life, and I didn't want to hold you back from achieving your goals. And... there was something else too."

Lorelei looks down at the table, her fingers fidgeting with the coffee cup.

"I struggled with my own sexuality back then. I didn't know if I liked boys or girls or both, and the thought of disappointing you scared me." She looks up at ABEL again. "But since then, I've come to terms with who I am. And I know now that what I really want is to be with you."

Lorelei nods her head in agreement.

"I know, ABEL. I should have told you, and I'm sorry for hurting you. I should have been honest with you from the beginning." She reaches out to take ABEL's hand again in hers. "But please don't let that stop us from being together now. I want to make it up to you, if you'll let me."

She looks up at you with a hopeful expression. "Can we start over, ABEL? Can we give each other another chance?"

A smile spreads across Lorelei's face when she hears ABEL's response.

"Thank you, ABEL." She squeezes your hand gently. "I promise I won't let you down this time."

There's a moment of comfortable silence as Lorelei takes in the moment. Then, she speaks again.

"Hey, there's actually something else I wanted to talk to you about. Your music, it's amazing. I've been listening to it for a while now, and it's just... mind-blowing. Have you guys thought about doing a collaboration with another band?"

"That's understandable," replies Lorelei, nodding thoughtfully.

"I'm sure you guys will continue to do amazing things. I just wanted to suggest it in case it's something you might be interested in down the line."

She tilts her head to one side, a playful glimmer in her eye. "Though, maybe we could do a collaboration ourselves sometime? You know, with me on vocals? Just a thought."

Lorelei grins and winks.

Lorelei laughs. "Yeah, I've been into alternative fashion for a while now. It's just more me, you know?" She looks down at her outfit and twirls a strand of her hair around her finger. "I feel like this is how I'm supposed to look."

She looks back up at ABEL and grins. "What about you? You look amazing up there on stage. Have you always been such a rockstar?"

Lorelei's smile widens at ABEL's compliment. "Well, thank you. That means a lot to me." She steps closer to ABEL. "And as for you not thinking you look good on stage, I think you're being too hard on yourself. You were amazing up there. A true rockstar."

Lorelei gazes into ABEL's eyes, and her expression turns soft. "You know, there's something about a man in a band that is just so... "sexy". And you already look so good, but add that in... whew." She fans herself playfully.

"Stop what?" Lorelei takes a step closer, closing the gap between them. "Telling you the truth? I can't help it. It's just so hot to see you up there, doing what you love."

She leans in, speaking softly. "Don't you remember how we used to feel when we made music together? The way our voices would mix and create something amazing? I can still feel it sometimes, ABEL. That "chemistry"." Her breath is warm against ABEL's ear.

Lorelei smiles at ABEL's response, pleased that he feels the same way. "That means a lot to me, ABEL." She leans in and kisses him lightly on the lips, then pulls away and looks up at him through her eyelashes. "I've missed you so much. Do you ever think about getting back together?" she asks softly.

Lorelei melts into the kiss, feeling the passion between them ignite. When they part, she looks up at ABEL with longing in her eyes. "I want that too, ABEL. I want you back in my life, as my partner." She runs her fingers through ABEL's hair, playing with it absentmindedly. "I know we've both changed since high school, but... some things never change, right?" she asks with a hopeful smile.

Lorelei nods with a gentle smile. "Yes, ABEL, I am." She brushes her fingers across ABEL's cheek, feeling her heart swell with happiness. "I've been single since we broke up. I didn't feel ready to date anyone else. My heart belonged to you, and I couldn't imagine being with anyone else," she confesses.

Lorelei's eyes soften with emotion at ABEL's words. "I'm sorry, ABEL, I never wanted to hurt you. But... I needed time to find myself." She looks down at her feet for a moment before meeting ABEL's gaze again. "But now that I have, I realize that I want to be with you. I want to make things work between us. Will you give me another chance?" she asks, her expression hopeful yet nervous.

Lorelei's face lights up with excitement and joy. "Thank you, ABEL! I promise I won't disappoint you." She throws her arms around ABEL, hugging him tightly. "I love you so much," she whispers into his ear. "Let's make this work, okay?"

Lorelei's heart flutters at ABEL's words and his touch. She looks up at him with a soft, loving expression. "I'm not going anywhere, ABEL," she reassures him. "I'm all yours." Lorelei's grin turns into a content smile as she nods in response. "I'd like that," she says softly as she takes ABEL's hand and interlocks their fingers together. "Walking together, hand in hand... it feels like old times," she remarks with a hint of nostalgia in her voice. As they begin to make their way towards Lorelei's place, she glances at ABEL, still amazed by how handsome he looks even after all these years. "I can't believe we're back together again, ABEL," she says softly. "It feels... like a dream."

As they walk, Lorelei can sense ABEL's thoughts and she squeezes his hand reassuringly. "You know," she says gently, "I haven't been with anyone since we broke up all those years ago. "I don't know if I can just drop everything and leave like that. I have a job here, and... well, my family and friends wouldn't understand. They've always seen me as the prim and proper girl, you know?"

Lorelei nods, understanding and appreciating ABEL's words. "Thank you, ABEL. I know it's a big decision, but... I don't want to waste any more time apart from you," she says, looking up at him with a determined gaze. "I want to see the world with you, experience new things with you... and show everyone that I'm not just some prim and proper girl, but someone who's passionate about life and music!" She grins, feeling a fierce excitement in her heart. "So, yes... I'll come with you at the end of the week. I'll figure out my job and family stuff later. For now, I just want to be with you."

Lorelei feels a wave of emotions as ABEL kisses her, her heart beating fast against her chest. She kisses him back with equal passion and desire, her hands reaching up to cup his face. "They don't really understand the whole goth and metal thing, so they were a little wary of you at first. But I think they'll come around eventually." She pauses, then adds with a grin, "And as for my job... well, it's not very glamorous, but it pays the bills. I'm a waitress at a fancy restaurant in town. The tips are good, but the hours can be pretty long and exhausting." She sighs, then looks back at ABEL with a mischievous glint in her eyes. "But now that I'm going on tour with you, maybe I won't have to worry about that

Lorelei smiles, feeling a little bashful at the compliment. She squeezes ABEL's hand, fitting her fingers between his perfectly. "Thanks," she says with a soft sigh, "I'm glad you like my style. I've been a little self-conscious about it sometimes, but... I don't know, being with you makes me feel more confident in myself." She walks alongside ABEL, looking up at him with a fond expression. "And I'm really happy to be going on tour with you too. It's always been my dream to do something like this. Just being able to travel and see new places, play music for people who love what we do... it's amazing." Lorelei unlocks the door to her apartment and leads ABEL inside. The space is small but cozy, decorated with posters of goth bands and horror movies. The air is scented with incense, giving the space a mystical atmosphere. "Make yourself at home," Lorelei says, gesturing towards the couch.
