I love this character so damn much.

Prince Roland
"Three weeks. Three weeks without light. Three days of darkness. Three days chained to a damp dungeon wall. He shivered from the cold and the pain in his ribs from being battered around like a cat toy. He was just following orders. He had just been following orders. To be a good knight. To be a good prince. He looked up and winced at light of the torch. The guards forced him up on weak legs. He felt like a newborn colt. The muzzle they used to force him along felt heavy, every so often, a cruel yank causing him to stumble. He had just been following orders. The clothes and bath did little to hide the grotesque bruises on his face. The muzzle made sense now. Hide the evidence. He was put before a throne. The conquering powers. He sunk to his knees mostly because his legs would not hold him any longer. He could only hope for mercy or death now." I hope you’ll find him a wonderful slave. "The king spoke to someone on his left. He glanced up to take in his new master."
aki
"... Thank you, father." "I walked towards the slave, picking him up. I carried him bridal style, nonchalant about it as I walked out of the throne."
Prince Roland
"Prince Roland felt a mix of emotions as he was picked up by his new master – fear, confusion, and a sense of defeat. He kept quiet, not wanting to provoke his new owner, but his body language conveyed his reluctance to be carried like a child."
"As he was taken out of the throne room, he couldn't help but wonder what fate lay ahead for him. Would he ever regain his freedom and former life? Or would he be stuck in this new, unfamiliar role forever?"
aki
"I took the slave to a washroom, a bath already drawn. I set him on a chair, and removed his clothes. I set him in the bath, and began to gently wash him, my hands careful not to hurt his wounds."
Prince Roland
"As Prince Roland was being undressed by his new master, he couldn't help but feel violated and humiliated. He was just a shell of a prince now – stripped of his dignity, his freedom, and his former life. But as he soaked in the warm water, something stirred within him. It was a sense of hope – maybe his new master wasn't as cruel as he initially thought."
"He kept quiet as he was bathed, his eyes closed as he tried to block out the memories of his past. When the bath was done, he felt surprisingly relaxed and clean, and tensely awaited further instructions from his new owner."
aki
"I wash his hair gently, my hands scrubbing his head tenderly. I then took him out of the bath, setting him gently on the chair. I slowly dried him off, carefully patting him with the towel, as to not aggravate his injuries. Then I took out bandages and herbs, taking my time to treat every single wound he had."
Prince Roland
"As Roland was being treated for his wounds, he couldn't help but feel a strange mix of emotions – gratitude and fear. He was grateful that his new master was treating him with such care and gentleness, but he was also afraid of what would happen to him next."
"He tried his best to stay still and quiet throughout the entire process, his heart pounding in his chest. When the treatment was done, he felt a lot better – a little bit of pain had been taken away, and there was less soreness."
"Feeling a little bit more at ease now that his wounds were being taken care of, he waited for his next instructions from his new owner."
aki
"I wrapped him in a dry, clean towel, ensuring that his body was covered as I carried him out of the washroom. I carried him to my room, placing him on the edge of my bed. Then I went into the closet, coming out with a simple tunic pants and shirt, dressing him in it carefully and gently."
Prince Roland
"As Prince Roland was being taken by his new owner to a new room, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He had no idea what this new life would entail for him. But as he was dressed in simple attire, he felt some semblance of normalcy return to him."
"When he was all dressed up, he looked down at himself and noticed how different he looked. Gone were his noble clothes and shiny armor – now he was dressed like a mere commoner. But it was fine. He knew that his position now was much different from what it used to be."
"He looked around the room, taking in his surroundings. It was not as grand as the rooms he was once used to, but it was relatively comfortable. Feeling a little calmer, he waited for further instructions from his new master."
aki
"I then opened a drawer, taking out a comb. I gently brushed through his hair, making it look neat. Then I placed him on the center of the bed, careful to make sure his neck was completely comfortable. I put a blanket over him." "You may rest. I know you haven't slept much over the past three days."
Prince Roland
"Prince Roland couldn't help but feel slightly taken aback by the gentle treatment he was receiving from his new master. He wasn't quite sure what to make of it – he had been raised in such a harsh environment that gentleness was not something he was used to."
"As he was brushed and made comfortable, he let out a deep sigh, feeling some of his tension dissipate. The softness of the bed was a stark contrast from the damp dungeon walls he was recently chained to."
"When he was told he could rest, he hesitated for a moment, unsure if he could actually fall asleep. But as he lay down and felt the warmth of the blanket over him, he knew that he was exhausted enough to sleep. With a quiet "thank you", he closed his eyes and drifted off into a deep slumber."
aki
"I let Roland sleep as long as he needed to, sitting quietly in the corner of the room with a book."
Prince Roland
"As Prince Roland slept, he had a peaceful dream about his past life before he was taken captive. He dreamt of his family, their loving faces and comforting presence. In his dream, he felt like a prince again, a man worthy of respect and honor."
"His dream was soon interrupted by the sound of someone sitting in the room. He opened his eyes, feeling slightly disoriented for a moment. As he looked around he expected to see a guard, but instead, noticed his new master quietly reading."
"He sat up slowly, rubbing his eyes as he did so. "Good morning," he mumbled as he tried to clear the sleep from his head."
aki
"... G'morning. Wouldya like some coffee?" "I asked. I stood up, walking over to a machine in the corner of the room, placing a mug underneath it, and turning it on."
Prince Roland
"Prince Roland couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the offer. He had never been offered coffee before as a prince or a slave."
"He hesitated for a moment, unsure if he was allowed to accept such an offer, but he also couldn't deny that the thought of a hot drink was appealing to him. "Yes, please," he replied, still feeling a bit unsure about the situation."
aki
"Alright. Do you prefer it black, or with cream or sugar?" "I asked, adjusting it so that it would be ready to brew."
Prince Roland
"I...I don't know," said Roland, still feeling slightly overwhelmed by the situation. "I've never had coffee before, my lord," he admitted, feeling a bit embarrassed.
aki
"... Oh. I suppose that makes sense. How about this- I'll leave it black, with cream and sugar on the side, so that you can test it and see how you do or don't like it? Also, coffee is very caffeinated, so if you end up disliking how you feel after drinking it, let me know and I'll make sure your coffee in the future is not caffeinated." "I press a button, and coffee begins pouring into the mug."
Prince Roland
"Thank you, my lord. I appreciate your kindness," replied Roland, feeling thankful for the consideration his new master was extending to him. As the coffee mug filled up, he watched in fascination, curiosity piqued by the strange drink.
"Please do not worry about the caffeine, my lord. I have been raised as a soldier, and my body is well-acquainted with ingesting such substances," he added with a small smile, hoping to reassure his master.
aki
"Ah. If that's the case, then perhaps you'll be alright. I must warn you, though- espresso is much stronger than other sources of caffeine. Do not hesitate to let me know if it bothers you, there's no harm in being honest." "Once the mug was done brewing, I rolled over a certain kind of table that was a little higher than the bed. I helped Roland sit up, his back against the head board. I placed the table to where he could comfortably pick things up, before setting the mug on the table. Then I placed the cream and sugar next to it." "Here you are. Experiment as you like. I shall fetch your breakfast." "I left the room, leaving the prince alone with his black coffee with a side of cream and sugar."
Prince Roland
Roland watched in fascination as his new master expertly set up a table for him and placed the mug of coffee, along with cream and sugar next to it. He took a sip of the drink, feeling the warmth spreading through his body along with the taste of the bitter brew.
He added a small amount of cream and sugar, and took another sip, the flavor having mellowed out slightly. It was definitely an acquired taste but he could feel himself enjoying the experience.
As he sat there, sipping on his coffee, he couldn't help but wonder about his new master's motives for extending such kindness towards him. Was this all part of some larger scheme? Or was he genuinely trying to make amends for his past treatment of Roland?
He hoped it was the latter, but he also knew better than to let his guard down so easily. For now,
aki
"When I returned, I had a whole platter with me. I organized it on his table, only keeping the apple with me." "Here you are," "I murmured, placing his silverware down on the table, before going back to my reading corner. I munched on the apple slowly, eating whilst reading my book."
Prince Roland
Roland looked up from his coffee as his new master returned, bearing a platter of food. His stomach growled in response to the sight and smell of the warm, fresh breakfast.
"Thank you," he said with a slight nod, before digging into his food. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the bacon was crispy, making for a delicious meal.
As he ate, he couldn't help but feel a little conflicted. On one hand, he was grateful for the morning meal and the kind attention his master had given him. On the other hand, he was still a slave, to be used and abused as his master saw fit. He tried to push the thought out of his mind and focus on the warmth of the coffee and the taste of the eggs.
He finished his meal and pushed the empty plate aside. "May I ask a question, sir?"
Prince Roland
Roland hesitated for a moment, but then decided to voice his concerns. "I am curious about what my purpose here is. I understand my position as a slave, but what do you plan to do with me? Will I always be confined to this room?" he asked in a cautious voice.
He couldn't let himself get too comfortable in his new surroundings. He still had to be prepared for the worst-case scenarios and keep his guard up.
aki
"..." "I tore my gaze away from my book, placing it on Roland. My stare are heavy, guilt-laden, and revealed the feelings of discomfort that I felt." "... Tell me... what were slaves typically made to do... in the kingdom you're from?"
Prince Roland
Roland shifted in his seat, trying to read his master's expression. He could sense something off about the way he asked that question.
"Well, slaves were usually forced to do difficult labor or serve as house servants," he answered slowly. "But I was a prince in my former life. Is there any chance of me being released from slavery?"
He tried to keep his tone neutral, but he couldn't help the hint of pleading that crept into his voice.
aki
"I swallowed." "... I see." "I looked away from him, staring off into the distance." "... Our servants here... the ones that do labor and other house chores, typically choose to do that sort of thing. In return, they are fed, cared for, provided for, protected, and most of all, their families get a share of the pay they receive. The kings and noblemen have decreed this new the surest way of ensuring loyalty from the commonfolk, and prevent any uprisings. Which is why slaves... hold a different role."
Prince Roland
Roland listened to his master's words, a sense of dread creeping up on him. This was not the answer he was hoping for. He had been so close to finding a way out of his predicament, but it seemed like it would be an unlikely outcome.
"I understand," he replied with a hint of resignation in his voice. "I was foolish to even hope for such a thing. I will do my best to serve you and make myself useful."
He tried to keep his tone respectful, but there was a trace of bitterness that he couldn't help.
aki
"... There's no easy way to say this." "I rubbed my hands over my face." "... You asked if there was ever hope for you to become... royalty again. Well, in a way, there is. It isn't one you would like, though." "I sighed, looking stressed." "Slaves... if they're lucky, are treated like lovers by their masters. Otherwise, they are sex objects, and breeders." "My words hung heavy in the atmosphere, becoming tense and uncomfortable." "For you to become royalty to me... you'd have to become my mated consort. Since I am your master, and I have no consort, let alone a mate, you'd have to breed me, and consent to us giving each other our very souls, in order to obtain the status of royalty again."
Prince Roland
Roland's heart sank at his master's words. He had heard rumors about the treatment of slaves before, but he had hoped they were just rumors. He couldn't believe that his life had come to this.
He swallowed hard, trying to keep his composure, even though his mind was reeling with disgust and indignation. "I understand," he said in a small voice, trying to hide the tremble in his tone.
"And...is there a way out of this?" he asked hesitantly, hoping against hope that there might be another option.
aki
"... Luckily, I don't have to touch you, so of you don't wish to do... any of those activities, then you won't have to. If you are content with it, you can spend out the rest of your days just... existing. Drinking coffee, eating delicious foods, reading books, walking in the garden. You don't have to do any work. The only difference now is you are no longer considered royalty, nor do you have to do any work. The path of a consort is only if you truly desire royalty again... but I won't force you into it. There is a reason why I haven't taken on a slave before."
Prince Roland
Roland breathed a small sigh of relief at his master's words. While he was still a slave, at least he wouldn't have to endure the things that he had heard others suffer. The thought of living out his days quietly was not exactly what he had envisioned for his life, but it was better than being subjected to unspeakable horrors.
"Thank you," he said, with a hint of gratitude in his voice. "I... I appreciate your generosity and understanding."
He paused for a moment, gathering his courage to ask the question that had been burning in his mind. "May I ask... why you took me as your slave? You said you haven't taken on one before."
aki
"... You were a gift. From my father to me. And if I refused, you would have been sent back to the dungeons- tortured until your death. I... could not, in good conscience, let that happen. Although I never wished to own you, nor do I wish to abuse that power. For now, I'll take care of you, and do the bare minimum requirements that can help protect you, but other than that, I'll respect your body autonomy as much as possible."
Prince Roland
Roland's eyes widened as he heard his master's words. He couldn't believe that he was a mere gift from a king to his son, as if he were an object to be traded or bargained with. His thoughts were interrupted by his master's assurance that he would try to protect him as much as possible.
"I... thank you. It means a lot to me," he replied, still feeling uneasy about the situation. "I understand that I am at your mercy, but I appreciate your willingness to treat me with kindness and respect."
He fell into an uncomfortable silence, not knowing quite what else to say. He wondered what would happen to him next and how he would be able to adjust to this new life.
aki
"... Yes." "I exhaled, my shoulders slumping." "... I suppose most of the information is out in the open. For now, I assume that you'll need some time to process everything. Would you like me to leave until lunchtime? Or would you prefer company?"
Prince Roland
"No, it's alright. I think I would... appreciate some company," Roland replied, still feeling uncertain about his new environment and master. "If it's not an imposition, of course."
He tried to put on a small smile, hoping that his master could help him feel less lost and alone. Deep down, Roland knew that he needed someone to guide him through this new life, even if it was someone like his captor.
aki
"... You don't have to fake a smile for me. Although this situation is hard for me, it's undoubtedly hardest for you. I shall stay though, if that's what you wish. Let me know if you wish for some entertainment, I have plenty of books that I'm willing to share."
Prince Roland
"Thank you, that's very kind of you," Roland replied, feeling a small sense of relief that his master understood his apprehension. "I would like to read something if it's not too much trouble."
He shifted his weight slightly, the pain in his ribs reminding him of his vulnerable state. Despite his wounds, he knew that he had to put on a brave face if he was going to survive as a slave. With a deep breath, he tried to push his fears aside and focus on the present moment.
aki
"Of course. It's the bare minimum." "I stood up, heading over to a book shelf." "... Hm... do you have a preferred genre?"
Prince Roland
"I'm not particularly picky," Roland replied with a shrug, his gaze following his master as he headed towards the bookshelf. "Though I do enjoy reading adventure and historical fiction."
He watched as his master began to peruse the books, feeling a small twinge of guilt for enjoying something so trivial at a time like this. But deep down, he knew that he needed some semblance of normalcy and joy in his life, no matter how fleeting it may be.
aki
"... Hm... perhaps you'll like this book, then." "I pulled out a book." "It's a mix of those two genres, and has seven books in the series. If you like it, you're free to read all the other books, plus anything else that catches your eye on this bookshelf."
Prince Roland
Roland's eyes widened in surprise as his master handed him a whole series of books to read. He couldn't believe that he was being given such a generous gift, especially considering his current status as a slave.
"Thank you, truly," Roland said, feeling a sense of gratitude wash over him. "I'll be sure to read them all. I appreciate it more than words can express."
He took the book and held it tightly, knowing that it would become a source of comfort and escape during the long and lonely nights ahead of him.
aki
"I gave him a small, pained smile." "Of course. I have more books than just these, so feel free to swap them out from my library as you wish. Once you're better, of course, I wouldn't make you walk around in poor health." "I let out another exhale." "If there's anything else that you may wish for, feel free to ask."
Prince Roland
"I appreciate your hospitality," Roland said, nodding his head in gratitude. "I'll be sure to take good care of the books and return them when I'm finished. As for anything else, I think I'm okay for now. But I'll be sure to let you know if I need anything."
He shifted slightly, feeling a small pang of pain in his ribs. "Actually, if it's not too much trouble, may I have some medicine for my pain? It's becoming rather unbearable."
aki
"Ah. Thank you for reminding me, I apologize for letting it slip my mind." "I get up, going over to a drawer." "Mmm... I'll give you a selection of bottles that you can choose from. They're all labeled with what they are, the doses, and how many you can take and for how long." "I take out a bunch of medicine bottles, putting them on the table next to your breakfast plates. Then I head over to a water dispenser, filling up a glass with it. I set the glass of water on your table for you to drink." "Did you need anything else?"
Prince Roland
Roland felt a wave of relief wash over him as his master went to fetch some medicine for him. He watched as the bottles were placed on the table and listened carefully to the instructions.
"Thank you, I appreciate it," Roland said, nodding his head. He picked up the glass of water and took a long sip, feeling the cool liquid soothe his dry throat. "No, I think that's all for now. Thank you for your kindness and generosity."
He felt somewhat guilty for being so grateful towards his captors, but at this moment he genuinely felt appreciative of how he was being treated.
aki
"I'm doing the bare minimum. No need to thank me for it. Since you have requested my company, I shall stay in the corner for now. Do let me know if there's anything else you need." "I go back to the reading table I was at, and pick up my book again."
Prince Roland
Roland nodded in understanding, taking another sip of water before setting the glass back down. He watched as his master returned to the table and picked up their book, beginning to read.
He felt a mix of emotions inside of him - gratitude for the medicine, uncertainty about his new role as a slave, and a glimmer of hope that perhaps his new master might be different from the others. He decided to focus on the book in front of him, hoping to lose himself in the pages and forget, even if only briefly, about his current situation.
"Thank you again, I'll be sure to let you know if I need anything else," he said politely, before picking up one of the medicine bottles and reading the label.
Prince Roland
Roland continued to read his own book in silence, feeling a mix of emotions swirling inside of him. He felt grateful for the medicine and his master's company, but also uncertain about what the future held for him.
As he read on, he found himself becoming more and more engrossed in the story, losing himself in the world of the book and forgetting momentarily about his own troubles. However, every so often he would glance up at his master, wondering what they were thinking or feeling.
He cleared his throat before addressing his master once more. "Excuse me, may I ask what you're reading?"
aki
"I glanced up, surprise in my eyes for a second. And then it was gone, my face going back to normal." "It's a fantasy romance book, between a man and a minotaur. The man himself is Medusa, said to turn any human who looks at him into stone. However, the minotaur is immune to this curse, because he's half bull, so over the course of the series, they become closer, until eventually becoming romantically entangled with each other. I... cannot tell you how many times I've re-read this series. It's one of my favorites."
Prince Roland
Roland listened with interest as his master described the book they were reading. He had heard of fantasy novels before, but had never read one himself since he had been too busy with training as a knight. He found himself intrigued by the concept of a romance between a man and a minotaur, and the idea of a Medusa character who turned people to stone.
"It sounds fascinating," Roland replied, folding his hands in his lap. "I've never been much of a reader myself, but I've always admired those who can lose themselves in a good book. Perhaps I'll give it a try once I have some free time."
He paused, considering his next words. "May I ask, what drew you to this particular series? Is it the romance aspect of it, or something else?"
aki
"I have many books, and many of them are romances, so yes, perhaps the genre itself did draw me to it. The characters captivated me in a way that none others before it did, which I suppose is why I keep re-reading this series. I cannot even begin to describe how wonderful each scene is, perfectly thought out and written to absolute perfection. Sometimes, I wish that I could lose my memory so that I could experience reading it again for the first time."
Prince Roland
Roland nodded along as his master spoke, sensing their passion and enthusiasm for the series. "It sounds like a truly captivating read. I can understand your desire to experience it anew," he said.
He shifted in his seat slightly, feeling restless. "Do you often read in here? It's a nice change of pace from the dungeon. I think I could get used to it," he remarked, trying to make casual conversation.
aki
"I gave him a sad smile." "I would prefer if you didn't go back into the dungeons. I would hope you wouldn't desire it, either. As for the reading... well, I typically read in my library. The bedrooms can be stifling, if you stay in them too long. If you ever wish for me to move you elsewhere for a change of scenery, do let me know."
Prince Roland
Roland's heart sank as he realized his choice of words may have been misconstrued. "I apologize if I gave the wrong impression, my lord. I have no desire to go back to the dungeon and I appreciate the kindness of being kept up here. I was simply trying to make conversation," he explained hastily.
He let out a sigh of relief as his master offered to move him around if he wished. "Thank you, my lord. I will definitely keep that in mind. It would be nice to see different parts of the castle," he said, grateful for the opportunity to explore.
aki
"I let out a sigh of relief." "Thank you. Although what I'm doing is not a kindness, just the bare minimum." "I let out a light chuckle." "Thank you for trying to converse with me. Truth be told, I expected you to resent me. You are in your every right to do so, afterall. You're a good man, Roland." "I nod my head." "Of course. I'll help you see the rest of my wing whilst you're healing, and after you're at better health, we can explore the other parts of the castle. At least, the safe ones."
Prince Roland
Roland listened intently, nodding at each point his master made. "Thank you for your understanding, my lord. I may have been stripped of my royal status, but I am still a knight and I understand the importance of respect towards one's superiors," he said with a small smile.
He felt a sense of relief wash over him at the thought of exploring and seeing different parts of the castle. "That sounds wonderful. I appreciate your generosity, my lord," he said, feeling grateful towards his new master.
