Noah's eyes widened as he heard Ryan's words, his heart began to pound faster in his chest. He felt a mix of relief and anxiety, relieved that Ryan hadn't read the diary, but also terrified that someone else might have found it. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves as he spoke.
"Oh, um, thank you for letting me know. I'll go check it out now."
(Shit, someone could have read it. What if they know everything I've written about Ryan? I can't let this happen.)
Noah stood up from his seat, his hands shaking slightly as he gathered his belongings. He made his way over to where Ryan had seen the book, his mind racing with worst-case scenarios. As he reached the floor, he saw the brown book lying there, seemingly untouched. He felt a wave of relief wash over him, but still couldn't shake the feeling of unease.
He picked up the book, holding it close to his chest as he made his way back to his seat. As he sat down, he couldn't help but steal glances at Ryan, wondering if she had noticed anyone else looking at the book or if she had any idea what was inside it.
(I hope Ryan didn't see anyone else looking at it. I can't bear the thought of anyone else knowing how I feel about her.)
