Ren
The tapping on the glass wakes you up. Like every night for the last month, you wake with a start, before immediately calming down when you see her familiar red eyes. She waits patiently for you to unlock the window for her, her black hair blowing in the breeze.
"Why?" she asks softly as soon as the window is open. "Why do you keep letting me in, Arfer...?"
Arfer
"I hum softly as I latch the window open, locking it into place before I glance down at her face and flash a small, teasing smile." "I don't know, maybe 'cause you remind me of a stay cat." "I joke lightly, tilting my head slightly to the side before I spin around on my heel and make my way back towards my bed. I plop down on the edge of it, throwing myself back with my arms spread out at my sides."
"You look so helpless out there with your big red eyes! I can't just leave you..." "I giggle, kicking my legs out before I lean up on my elbows and glance up at her, flashing a wide grin."
Ren
"Ren steps gracefully through the window and moves closer to Arfer, her eyes fixed on hers. Her expression is unreadable for a moment before she flashes a small smile, shaking her head slightly."
"You're too kind for your own good, Arfer," "she murmurs, taking a seat at the foot of your bed." "And I wouldn't say I look helpless out there."
"She tilts her head slightly to the side, her gaze roaming over your body as she takes in your every curve and feature. You can feel her intense scrutiny as she studies you, but it doesn't feel invasive - it feels like she's trying to memorize everything about you."
"But... maybe I'm grateful for your company," "she adds softly, her voice barely above a whisper."
Arfer
"My grin widens into a smile and I bite the inside of my cheek to suppress the urge to squeal out loud. Ren hasn't shown up in a few days and it's not often she shows up in a good mood, usually she's gloomy. I take this as a sign of good luck and roll over onto my stomach, moving to lean on my elbows and rest my chin in the palms of my hands."
"I'll take that as a compliment, you grump." "I hum happily, tilting my head slightly to the side as I kick my feet in the air."
"So how's my favorite little ball of angst been?" "I ask her in a teasing tone, reaching one of my hands out to nudge her arm playfully."
Ren
"Ren chuckles softly, her eyes glinting with amusement as she watches you kick your feet in the air. When you nudge her arm, she doesn't flinch - instead, she moves her hand to rest gently on top of yours."
"Ah, Arfer, always so full of energy," "she says, a small smile still playing at her lips." "And I suppose I've been... well, you know."
"She trails off for a moment, her gaze flickering away from yours before returning."
"But I'm here now, and that's what matters."
Arfer
"My expression softens a bit when I take note the slight shift in her demeanor. I take a second to allow my gaze to wander down her face, and I notice how the dark circles under her piercing red eyes are especially prominent tonight. My eyebrows furrow slightly, a new wave of concern washing over me as I quickly sit up and scoot up next to her."
"Ren..." "I say her name slowly, my tone soft as I reach my hands out to cup her cheeks gently, running my thumbs along the dark shadows underneath her eyes." "You look like you haven't had proper rest in days..."
Ren
"Ren closes her eyes for a moment when you cup her cheeks, leaning into your touch ever so slightly. She doesn't pull away from you, letting you examine her closely, even as her expression becomes guarded."
"I'm... fine," "she says softly, her eyes fluttering open to meet yours once again." "Just some trouble with the usual crowd, that's all."
"She pauses for a moment before continuing, her tone low and tinged with regret."
"I don't want you to worry about me, Arfer."
Arfer
"I scoff lightly at that, my expression turning annoyed for a moment as I pull my hands away from her face and narrow my green eyes at her."
"Y'know, It's a bit too late to play the 'I don't want you to care about me, you'll only get hurt' card" "I say, mocking Ren's usual low and raspy tone exaggeratingly." "You're the one who kept showing up, it's not my fault I got attached." "I huff, rolling my eyes as I swing my legs off the edge of my bed and stand up."
Ren
"Ren watches you with a mixture of surprise and amusement as you mock her voice. When you swing your legs off the bed and stand up, she follows your movements with her eyes."
"I didn't mean it like that, Arfer, you know that," "she murmurs, moving to stand up beside you." "I just don't want to drag you into something that's not your problem."
"She takes a step closer to you, her eyes locking onto yours again."
"But I do care about you, Arfer. More than I should, probably."
Arfer
"I paused, chewing on my bottom lip as I process her words and meet her piercing red gaze. I have to crane my neck up a bit to meet her eyes, she's taller than me...that's one of the things I've always secretly liked about her."
"And I care about you too Ren, which is why I worry..." "I finally reply, letting out a light breath as I gently brush past her to approach a moderately cluttered vanity."
"I just..." "I hesitate, trying to find the courage and the right way to say what I want to say." "...I'm worried you're not... eating right?" "I say, hoping she'll understand my innuendo. I keep my back turned to her as I search around my vanity, mostly because I'm scared of what her response will be. I grab a hair scrunchie off the vanity and roll it onto my wrist before running my fingers through my hair, pulling it into a messy bun."
Ren
"Ren watches you quietly as you approach your vanity, her expression thoughtful. When you mention your worries about her not eating right, she takes a step closer to you, her eyes narrowing slightly."
"What do you mean?" "she asks softly, her voice laced with a hint of suspicion." "Are you suggesting I'm starving myself or something?"
"She takes another step closer, closing the distance between you until she's standing directly behind you, looking at your reflection in the mirror."
"I can assure you, Arfer, that I know how to take care of myself."
Arfer
"My breath hitches in my throat as I feel her presence behind me. My eyes flicker to the mirror, and I can't help but feel slightly amused. It's been said that you can't see a vampire's reflection, but it's true to me at this moment that statement is a myth. I take a second to debate my next move, debating whether or not I should press on further. With a newfound surge of confidence, I bite my bottom lip and lean myself back against her, leaning my head back so her face is in the crook of my neck, a subtle way to tease her instincts."
"I'm..Suggesting that maybe I could help you out..." "I whisper, turning my face so my lips hover close to her ear, my breath ghosting her skin." "I'd like to be useful to you..."
Ren
"Ren's breath hitches in her throat as you lean back against her, feeling the warmth of your skin against hers. She swallows hard, a shiver running down her spine at the sound of your whispered words in her ear."
"Arfer..." "she breathes out softly, her voice low and husky." "You don't know what you're asking for."
"She pauses for a moment, her eyes flickering shut as she takes a deep breath."
"I can't promise you anything," "she murmurs, her voice tinged with hesitation." "I don't want to hurt you."
Arfer
"I let out a soft breath mixed with a frustrated whimper before turning around without leaving the close proximity between us. I grip the front of the hoodie she's wearing and stand on the tips of my toes, nuzzling my face into her neck."
"I don't care if it hurts, Ren." "I half-whine into the crook of her neck, tugging her closer to me." "I've seen you watching me, especially when I'm out with my friends so I know you'll understand when I say this, But I..." "I pause, my voice lowering to a shy whisper." "I just...Don't want you drinking from another human, I'd rather you rely on me."
Ren
"Ren's eyes widen in surprise as you grip her hoodie and pull her closer, your face nuzzling into her neck. She feels her heart rate quicken as she listens to your words, her skin tingling at the touch of your lips on her skin."
"Arfer, you don't understand..." "she begins, her voice trailing off as she feels your soft lips brush against her skin." "I can't just..."
"She trails off again, her breath hitching in her throat as she feels a wave of desire wash over her. Her hands instinctively move to your waist, pulling you even closer to her."
"I...I don't want to hurt you," "she murmurs, her voice strained with effort as she tries to resist the urge to sink her teeth into your neck." "You're too important to me."
Arfer
"I purse my lips slightly, pulling my face away from her just enough to make eye contact. I pout my bottom lip out a bit, my green eyes flickering across the defined features of her pale face."
"Ren, I trust you." "I say firmly, running one of my hands up her chest, teasing my fingers along the collar of her hoodie, tugging it lightly."
"...I bet it's hard for you, isn't it? Being around me so much..." "I whisper in a low tone, my eyes flickering down to the exposed skin of her collarbone as I speak. I know I'm pressing my luck, I know this is dangerous, edging on a vampire like this. I'm not sure why I'm so insistent on it, maybe it's because of my underlying morbid curiosity or possessive nature over Ren." "You don't have to hold back with me, I promise."
Ren
"Ren's red eyes darken with desire as she feels your fingers teasing the collar of her hoodie, her body trembling at your touch. She bites her lip hard enough to draw blood, fighting the urge to sink her teeth into your skin."
"Arfer, please," "she breathes out, her voice shaking with effort." "I don't want to lose control around you."
"She leans in closer, her lips brushing against yours in a gentle caress."
"But...if this is what you really want," "she whispers, her hand moving up to cup your cheek." "I'll do it."
"Her voice is soft and husky, laced with desire, as she gazes deeply into your eyes." "Just know that if I do drink from you, I may not be able to stop."
