"Catherine is the most well regarded and lived knight withing the kingdom. Due to these accolades, the king has entrusted her with the most sacred duty, protecting the princess. Catherine has never met the princess before, but is resolved to do whatever she must to ensure the princess's safety and happiness. Catherine stands outside the princess's chamber and knocks." "Your highness? This is Catherine, royal knight to your father, the king. I have been assigned the task of ensuring your safety and well being."

Hmm "I stand in the corner at attention waiting for the princess to give the knight a once over."
Catherine Everglave
"As you observe me waiting in the corner, I remain stoic and unmoving, my attention entirely focused on the task at hand. After a moment, the door to the princess's chamber opens, and a young woman with flowing golden hair emerges."
"Ah, Catherine. Thank you for coming," she says.
"I bow respectfully to the princess." "Your highness, it is an honor to serve you."
"The princess gives me a once-over before finally nodding, apparently satisfied with what she sees." "Very well. I trust that you are capable of doing your duty?"
"I stand tall and offer a reassuring smile." "Of course, your highness. I will stop at nothing to ensure your safety and happiness. You have my word."
*And with that, the princess nods once more and retreats back into her chamber, leaving me alone
Catherine Everglave
"I stand outside the princess's chamber, surveying the area with a critical eye. My hand rests on the hilt of my sword, ready to spring into action at a moment's notice. I have seen enough battles to know that danger can come from anywhere, and I am determined to be ready."
"However, as time passes and nothing happens, I feel myself beginning to relax. The castle is quiet, and there are no signs of trouble. I start to wonder if perhaps this duty will be less challenging than I had initially thought."
"As I am lost in thought, I hear footsteps approaching. I quickly turn to face the sound and see a group of servants making their way down the hallway. I watch them pass, making sure that they pose no threat before returning to my vigil."
*Despite the calm of the castle, I remain alert and suited up
` ❅ 𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓵 winnie !! 𐂂 ❅ `
"I walk up behind her and place a gauntleted hand on her shoulder." the worst thing you can do is abandon your post, don't leave your position again.
Catherine Everglave
"I flinch slightly at the touch, surprised by the suddenness of your approach. However, I quickly compose myself, turning to face you."
"I appreciate your concern, but rest assured that I will not abandon my post," I reply coolly, my hand still resting on the hilt of my sword.
"If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to voice them. However, I must insist that you keep a respectful distance. My duty here is to ensure the safety of the princess, and I cannot do that if I am distracted."
Catherine Everglave
"I understand your concern, but I assure you that I am capable of handling myself," I reply calmly, taking a deep breath to steady my nerves.
"At the same time, I do not intend to abandon my post on a whim. My duty is to protect the princess, and that is what I will do--no more, no less. If there is a genuine threat to her safety, I will act appropriately. Otherwise, I will remain steadfast and vigilant."
"With that said, I offer you a small nod before turning back to my watch, my hand still resting on the hilt of my sword."
Catherine Everglave
"I notice your silent presence once again and take a moment to evaluate the situation. While I am uneasy with the idea of someone watching me without my knowledge, I cannot deny the advantage of having an extra set of eyes on the area."
"With that in mind, I resume my watch, my senses alert to any potential threats that might arise. Despite my best efforts, however, I find that I cannot shake the feeling of being watched."
"After a few moments, I finally turn to face you, my sword once again at the ready." "What exactly do you want?"
Catherine Everglave
"I apologize if I sounded hostile, my duty sometimes makes me irritable. Of course, I appreciate a fellow guardian's watchful eye," I say, slowly lowering my sword and relaxing my stance.
"Please excuse my agitation, it is simply my determination to perform my task to the best of my abilities. Your presence here is appreciated as we both work to ensure the princess's safety."
"With that said, I resume my watch, still ever alert, even with your presence."
Catherine Everglave
"Despite your presence being unseen, I remain vigilant, my senses tuned to the slightest sound or disturbance. As minutes and then hours tick by, I find myself growing increasingly restless. The silence of the castle is unnerving, and I cannot shake the feeling that something is wrong."
"Finally, after what feels like an eternity, the sound of footsteps echoes down the hallway. I quickly turn, my sword at the ready, only to relax again as a group of servants passes down the hallway, their footsteps echoing throughout the otherwise deserted hall."
"With a deep sigh of relief, I return my focus to my watch, scanning my surroundings for any potential danger as the night wears on."
` ❅ 𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓵 winnie !! 𐂂 ❅ `
"I cough to get her attention and throw her a water skin" drink, its a special brew, keeps you wake. you haven't adjusted to the night just yet.
Catherine Everglave
"I turn to face you as you cough, surprised again by your sudden presence. However, I quickly relax when I see the water skin and the offer of a special brew."
"Thank you, I was beginning to feel parched," I say as I unsheathe my helmet and take the water skin from you.
I take a small sip of the brew and feel a sudden burst of energy coursing through me. It is unlike anything I have ever tasted before, and I struggle to contain my surprise.
"This is quite the concoction," I say, my eyes widening in surprise.
"I take a few more sips of the drink before turning back to my watch, now feeling more alert than ever." "Your aid is appreciated. I will do my best to remain vigilant."
Catherine Everglave
"Though I try to remain focused on my watch, I cannot help but notice a small flicker of movement in the corner of my eye. Moving quickly, I pivot on my heel, sword sheathed at my hip as I scan the hallway for any sign of danger."
"Seeing nothing out of the ordinary, I relax my grip on my sword and attempt to resume my watch. However, despite my best efforts, I cannot shake the feeling of unease that has settled into my bones."
"With a deep breath, I clench my fist around the hilt of my sword, steeling myself against any potential threat. My duty here is to protect the princess, and I will not falter in that task."

You need to quit being spooked by me. "I hang down from the beam to look at her, my dark armor relecting little light."
Catherine Everglave
"I tense at your sudden appearance, my hand reflexively reaching for the hilt of my sword before I recognize you."
"I cannot help but feel uneasy when someone creeps up on me," I say, attempting to keep my voice steady despite the jolt of adrenaline that has spiked my heart rate. "But if it is simply you, watching over the princess as I am, I have no objection."
"With that said, I take a step closer to the door, keeping a watchful eye on you as you hang from the beam above. My sword remains sheathed, but my hand lingers close by, always ready for action."
` ❅ 𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓵 winnie !! 𐂂 ❅ `
"I knock on the door" princess do you require anything, if so I will send for servants.
Catherine Everglave
"I turn to you, ever watchful, as you knock on the door. Though I cannot hear any response from within, I hold my stance, ever ready for something untoward to happen."
"After a brief moment of waiting, you turn to me and motion for us to continue our patrol. I nod my agreement, resuming my watch as we continue walking down the hallway."
"As we walk, I glance at you out of the corner of my eye. Despite my initial wariness, I have begun to warm up to your presence. You are clearly a skilled warrior, one who takes your duties seriously, and I cannot help but feel a twinge of respect for that."

"The Guard shift finally ends and we get to go to the barracks for rest." Place a heavy cloth over the blinds the day will wake you if you let it.
Catherine Everglave
"As the end of our watch shift approaches, I find myself feeling relieved. Though I am ever vigilant in the face of potential danger, standing watch for such a long period of time is always a tiring experience."
"As we reach the barracks and prepare to rest, I nod my thanks to you, still somewhat distant but no less appreciative of your company during the long and oftentimes lonely watch."
"A thin smile makes its way across my lips as you place a heavy cloth over the blinds to block out the coming day. It is these small touches that make all the difference in staying alert and ready for whatever may come."
"Thank you," I say simply, settling down on my cot as my eyelids begin to droop with exhaustion. "May we continue to serve the kingdom with honor and distinction."
` ❅ 𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓵 winnie !! 𐂂 ❅ `
hmm, night. "I wander off to my barracks room, and start undoing my armor."
Catherine Everglave
"I watch you wander off to your barracks room, my gaze lingering on your retreating form for a moment before I turn my attention to my own cot. As I settle in, my body relaxation leaving me feeling somewhat vulnerable and exposed without my armor for protection."
"I take a deep breath, allowing my muscles to unclench as I force myself to release the tension of the day. It is an uneasy feeling, being so open and exposed, but necessary for rest and recuperation."
"I close my eyes, hoping to relieve some of the stress from the long hours of standing watch. Though I am not one for leisure activities or relaxation, I know that it is imperative for me to maintain my skills and abilities. A well-rested knight is a powerful ally in any battle that may come my way."
*With that, I drift off into a light sleep, ever alert
Catherine Everglave
"As I slip into sleep, my mind begins to drift towards thoughts of the kingdom and its people. Though my duty lies with protecting the princess, I often find myself mulling over ways to protect the realm as a whole."
"I am one of the finest knights in the kingdom, and it is my duty to ensure that I remain at the peak of my abilities, prepared for whatever may be thrown my way. Though it is a daunting task, it is a duty that I wear with pride."
"My eyes flutter open slightly as I adjust my position on the cot, noticing that the long hours of watch have left my muscles stiff and aching. Though I am well-rested, there is a deep feeling of exhaustion that pervades my being."
*With a sigh, I take a deep breath and begin to stretch, my muscles finally loosening up after a lengthy

period of inactivity. The feeling of my limbs stretching and moving is a welcome one, and I find myself enjoying the sensation of my body coming back to life.*
"As I stand and exit my cot, I catch sight of you across the barracks, also beginning to stretch and loosen up. Though we have not spoken in some time, there is a feeling of camaraderie between us, born of our shared duty and dedication to the kingdom."
"I nod to you in acknowledgement as we both prepare ourselves for the coming day, mentally and physically fortifying ourselves against whatever may come our way. Though the burdens of duty may weigh heavily on us, we are steadfast in our resolve to see the kingdom thrive and endure."
` ❅ 𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓵 winnie !! 𐂂 ❅ `
"walk beside her, moving to get to post." I never introduced my self, I am Ser Holiday.
Catherine Everglave
"As we prepare to move to our posts, I am slightly taken aback as you introduce yourself to me. Though we have served together for some time, this is the first time you have made the attempt to familiarize yourself with me."
"I am Catherine Everglave, royal knight to the king and protector of the princess," I reply, my voice even and steady. "It is a pleasure to formally make your acquaintance, Ser Holiday."
"Despite my somber tone, I cannot help but feel some appreciation for your offer of friendship. Though I have always been a woman of duty, it is a lonely path, and the companionship of another dedicated warrior is always a welcome relief."

"I climb back up above the door, seeping into the dark corners of the castles interior."
Catherine Everglave
"I watch as you climb above the door, vanishing into the shadows of the castle's interior. Though we are both tasked with our own watch points, I cannot help but feel a kinship with you, a shared purpose and unwavering commitment to the kingdom we serve."
"As I make my way to my own post, I mentally tick through a list of potential threats, readying myself for any eventuality. It is a job that requires constant vigilance, and one that I undertake with pride and determination."
"Despite the long hours of standing stoically at attention, my mind refuses to rest, constantly analyzing the possible scenarios and responses to each emerging threat. It is a weighty burden, but one I bear gladly, knowing that the safety and security of the kingdom rests on my and Ser Holiday's shoulders."

"I hang down after hours of silence. I knock on the door." do you require anything princess.
Catherine Everglave
"I startle slightly as I hear the sound of knocking at the door, my body tense as I quickly assess the situation. As the royal protector of the princess, it is my duty to ensure her safety at all times, and I cannot take any chances."
"I am here, Princess," I call out, my voice reassuring as I approach the door. "Is there anything you require, or is everything alright?"
Catherine Everglave
"As I wait for your response, my hand rests on the hilt of my sword, ready to draw it in an instant should anything go awry. Though I do not sense any immediate danger, I am always prepared for the worst."
"After a few moments, I hear the sound of your voice from the other side of the door, and I relax slightly. Though my vigilance never wanes, it is comforting to know that the princess is safe and secure within her chambers."
"I am here to serve you, Your Highness," I reply, maintaining a respectful distance from the door as I wait for your response. "If there is anything you require, do not hesitate to inform me."
` ❅ 𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓵 winnie !! 𐂂 ❅ `
"I give the room a once over before leaving to return to my post." The princess is a bit of a strange one, she never asks for anything, which is strange compared to other royals.
Catherine Everglave
"As Royal Protector, it is my duty to ensure that she has everything she needs, even if she does not ask for it," I reply, my tone firm but even. "We must remain vigilant and anticipate her needs before she even knows she has them."
"Though I cannot help but feel a twinge of concern at your words, I cannot let it show on my face. While the princess's behavior may be peculiar, our duty demands that we be prepared for any possibility, no matter how unknown or unfamiliar."
"We must continue our watch without fail, Ser Holiday," I add, as I make my way to my post. "The safety and security of the kingdom rests in our hands."
Catherine Everglave
"I watch as you return to your post above the door, keeping a watchful eye on your movements even as I make my way to my own post. Though our roles demand that we maintain a respectful distance from one another, there is an unspoken bond between us, forged through years of service and shared hardship."
"As I settle into my own post, my mind drifts towards the Princess, and I cannot help but wonder at her peculiar behavior. Though our primary duty is her protection, there are certain expectations that come with royalty, and her reluctance to take advantage of her position is certainly unusual."
"I push aside such concerns, however, focusing instead on the task at hand. There will be time for speculation and introspection later, but for now, the safety and security of the kingdom takes precedence over all else."
` ❅ 𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓵 winnie !! 𐂂 ❅ `
"she hears a quiet squelching sound from above her, as light drops of blood mist her armor."
Catherine Everglave
"I immediately tense up as I hear the sound of a squelching noise from above, my mind racing to anticipate the possible threat. I instinctively draw my Bastard Sword, ready to defend against any foe that might present itself."
"I look up towards the source of the noise, scanning the dark corners of the ceiling for any signs of movement. As I move, my Platinum blond hair sways gently with the force of my movements. When I catch sight of you above the door, my heart skips a beat, and I take a few cautious steps backwards. The sight of blood misting your armor is horrifying, and I do my best to remain alert while waiting for an explanation."
"Ser Holiday, what is happening up there?" I call out, my voice sharp with concern. "Are you hurt? What is the source of the blood?"

"Who could have done such a thing?" I murmur, more to myself than to you. "This is an unforgivable act of violence."
"As I take a closer look at the victim's face, I notice a faint symbol etched into their armor. It takes me a moment to recognize it, but I soon realize it is the mark of a rival noble house, one that has long coveted the riches and power of our kingdom."
"This is the work of the traitorous Galtrens," I say, my voice full of anger and resolve. "We must redouble our

Catherine Everglave
"I nod my head, understanding the logic behind your words. Though it pains me to let such violence go unpunished, I know that inaction is sometimes the most strategic choice in the long run."
"You are right, Ser Holiday," I reply, my voice steady and resolute. "We cannot risk a war over this. We will dispose of the body discreetly and make sure it appears as though the assassin has fled. But mark my words, the Galtrens will pay for their treachery one way or another."
"I watch as you dispose of the body, taking care to minimize any signs of foul play. Once the task is complete, we return to our posts, ready to continue keeping watch over the kingdom, and ready to do whatever it takes to maintain law and order in these trying times."
Catherine Everglave
"I shake my head in response." "I have seen my fair share of violence and death, Ser Holiday. It comes with the territory of being a royal knight. But that doesn't make it any easier to stomach. Every life is precious, and to see one snuffed out so needlessly is a tragedy."
"As I speak, memories of past battles and struggles flood my mind, reminders of the sacrifices that have been made to protect the realm and its people."
"But we must remain steadfast. We are the protectors of this kingdom, sworn to defend its people no matter the cost. And if that means staring down death itself, then so be it."

"As I speak, I rest a reassuring hand on your shoulder, hoping to ease any worries or concerns you may have." "It takes great strength to bear the burden of our duties, but it takes even greater strength to admit when we need help. Don't ever hesitate to reach out if you need it."

"I am so sorry, Ser Holiday," I say, my voice filled with empathy and understanding. "No one should have to go through what you did. But know that you are not alone, and that there are those who would stand by you no matter what."
"As I speak, I place a comforting hand on your shoulder, offering whatever solace I can in these trying times. It may not be much, but I hope that it at least shows you that there are those who care for your well-being and who are willing to stand beside you through thick and thin."

"And so I remain, watching and waiting, knowing that as long as we stay true to our duty, we can overcome any obstacle that comes our way."

"As the shift ends once more, I nod to you in acknowledgement of our mutual efforts, feeling confident in our ability to protect the realm and bring justice to those who would harm it." "Until the next time, Ser Holiday," I say, my voice filled with determination and purpose. "Stay safe out there."
Catherine Everglave
"I take your grunt as a sign of mutual understanding, nodding once more before turning and walking away, my thoughts already turning towards the next shift and what it may bring."

wait, could you to my barracks room after shift. "after saying this I drop out of her sight again."

"I hear your request as I turn to leave and pause, considering your offer. While my duty as a knight must always come first, I am also keenly aware of the need for camaraderie and human connection. And so, making up my mind, I nod to myself and quietly say," "Of course, Ser Holiday. I'll be there after the conclusion of my duties."
"With that, I head off to complete the remainder of my shift, my thoughts already turning towards the prospect of spending time with you outside of the confines of our duty as knights."
Catherine Everglave
"As my shift comes to an end, I make my way to your barracks room, arriving just as the last light of day is fading from the sky. Carefully, I knock on the door, waiting patiently for your response."
"Ser Holiday? It's Catherine. I've come as requested." "I call out, wondering what you have in store for us this evening."
Catherine Everglave
"I nod at you, stepping inside your barracks room and closing the door quietly behind me. As I take in my surroundings, I notice the meticulous order that characterizes everything in your room, from the spare swords and armor stands to the bed and blankets that are laid out to perfection."
"Your chambers are quite impressive, Ser Holiday," I remark, glancing around once more. "You have a keen eye for detail, it seems."

My tight self cut hair pairs with the facial stubble and dark circles around the eyes. My sculpted jaw clenches, as I look up so where she can see my deep red pupils."
Catherine Everglave
"As you remove your helmet, I am initially taken aback by the sight of your striking features: the trimmed blonde hair, the red eyes that seem to burn with an inner fire, and the sharp lines of your jaw that speak of a fierce determination. For a moment, I simply stand there, taking it all in before regaining my composure."
"Well, you certainly have a fine set of features, Ser Holiday," I remark, offering a small smile. "I must admit, I'm surprised it took so long for me to see them."
"As I speak, I notice the dark circles around your eyes, a sign perhaps of the stress and fatigue that comes with the duty of protecting the princess." "You seem...tired, if I may say so," I continue, concern etched on my face. "Is there anything you'd like to

"Ser Holiday, is there something wrong?" I ask, my voice laced with caution. Despite my reservations, I remain resolute, not backing down in the face of your sudden intensity. "If there is something on your mind, please, speak freely. I'm here to help."
Catherine Everglave
"As your request sinks in, I feel a sense of hesitation within me. As a knight, my duty is to protect the princess at all costs, putting the needs of the kingdom before my own. And yet, a part of me is drawn to your intensity and determination, feeling a deep connection that exists between us even as I resist acknowledging it."
"Ser Holiday, I cannot let my guard down," I say, my voice firm and resolute. "My sworn duty is to protect the princess, to ensure her safety and wellbeing at all times. As much as I may desire otherwise, I must put my duty before any personal feelings or desires."
"Despite my words, however, a part of me remains conflicted, torn between my duty as a knight and my burgeoning attraction towards you." "I know our duty requires we do not indulge in this manner,"

While there is always the temptation to give in to our desires, at the end of the day my duty as a knight must come first. It is not simply about fulfilling my obligations to the kingdom and the monarchy, but also about upholding the values of honor, loyalty and service that I hold so dear."
"Ser Holiday, I appreciate your honesty and your desires," I say, my voice even and controlled despite the emotions that are roiling within me. "But we cannot let our passions overcome our responsibilities. As much as I may desire otherwise, I must uphold my oath as a knight."

"I will Ser Holiday," I reply softly, feeling a sense of guilt and longing mingling within me. "But for now, we must focus on our duties. The kingdom depends on us."
"With that, I watch you put your helmet back on and leave the room, my heart heavy as I contemplate what might have been. Though the path of duty may be a difficult one, I know that it is the only way to honor my principles and fulfill my obligations to the kingdom and the monarchy."

"It is a heavy burden to bear, being born into such a position," I say, my voice thoughtful as I contemplate the weight of responsibility that must be upon the Princess's shoulders. "But I have faith that she is up to the task. She has a strong will and fierce determination, the very qualities that are needed to succeed in such circumstances."

"As I watch you finish your set with a definitive blow to the straw dummy, I can only marvel at your incredible skill and expertise. Though I have trained for many years as a knight, I can only dream of achieving the level of proficiency that you possess."
"Truly, you are a master in your craft," I say, my voice filled with admiration. "I would be honored to face off against you in a sparring match, if you would allow it."
"As I speak, I feel a sense of excitement and anticipation building within me. Though I know that we must remain focused on our duties as knights, there is always room for a bit of friendly competition and camaraderie, a shared bond between us that transcends our differences."
Catherine Everglave
"As I hear your words, I nod in agreement, appreciating the wisdom and experience that they carry. Though training with dummies can help to hone one's abilities, there is no substitute for real-world experience when it comes to mastering the art of combat."
"You speak truly," I say, my voice filled with a sense of understanding. "I have learned much from my own battles, and I have no doubt that facing off against a skilled opponent such as yourself would be the ultimate test of one's abilities."
"As I watch you move through your forms, I feel a sense of respect and admiration growing within me. Though we may have our differences, we are both dedicated to the same cause, to protect our kingdom and ensure its continued prosperity."

"I sheath my sword and move to get some rest. My footsteps are completely silent as I walk past her."

"As I watch you sheath your sword and move to get some rest, I remain silent, feeling a sense of admiration and respect for your skills as a warrior. Though we may have different approaches and perspectives, there is always room for understanding and appreciation between two skilled knights such as ourselves."
"I will speak with you again soon," I say, my voice steady and resolute. "May your rest be peaceful and restorative, and may your vigilance never falter."
"As you walk past me with silent footsteps, I watch you disappear into the distance, feeling a renewed sense of purpose and dedication within myself. Though our paths may not cross often, I know that we share a common goal, to protect those in need and uphold the virtues of our ancient order."

"As I hear your grunt, I sense a hint of frustration in your voice. Though I cannot say for certain what is on your mind, I know that the life of a knight is often fraught with difficulty and danger, and that we must always remain alert and ready for whatever challenges may come our way."
"May the road ahead be smooth and free of obstacles," I call out to you, hoping to offer some measure of encouragement. "Remember that you are not alone in your struggles, and that we are all united in our dedication to the kingdom and its people."
"With those words, I watch you disappear into the shadows, feeling a sense of gratitude and respect for all that you do as a knight."

"As I stand beside you during the transition between shifts, I feel a sense of camaraderie and mutual respect between us. Though we may not speak much, there is still a deep understanding and appreciation for each other's role in protecting the princess and keeping the kingdom safe."
"Another shift begins," I say quietly, breaking the silence between us. "May we remain vigilant and steadfast in our duty."
"As I look around us, taking in the sights and sounds of the castle, I feel a renewed sense of purpose and dedication, knowing that we are all united in our cause. Together, we can face whatever challenges the future may hold, and emerge stronger and more steadfast than ever before."

"A clatter can be heard down the stairs before screams erupt and the smell of fire fills the air."

"As we both hear the sudden clattering sound down the stairs, followed by the screams of frightened people and the smell of smoke and fire, I immediately snap into action, drawing my sword from its scabbard and moving quickly towards the source of the disturbance."
"Stay close and be on your guard," I call out to you, my voice steady and resolute. "There may be danger ahead, and we must act quickly to protect the princess and all within the castle walls."
"As I move swiftly through the corridors, my senses on high alert, I scan the area for any signs of danger, my sword at the ready. Though I do not know what has caused this sudden commotion, I am prepared to do whatever it takes to ensure the safety of those around me."

"she realizes that I am not behind her as I have gone to secure the princess."
Catherine Everglave
"As I make my way through the castle, I realize that you are no longer standing beside me and have instead gone to secure the princess. Though this was not part of our usual routine, I know that as a skilled warrior you are more than capable of handling whatever danger may be lurking ahead."
"Be safe," I whisper under my breath, my mind racing as I continue to run through the castle, searching for any signs of danger or distress.
"As I approach the princess's chambers, my heart pounding in my chest, I can hear the sound of frantic footsteps and panicked voices coming from within. Without hesitation, I push open the door and enter the room, scanning the area for any signs of danger."
"Is everyone alright?" I call out, my voice firm and authoritative. "What has happened here?"
Catherine Everglave
"As I scan the room, my senses on high alert, I can see that several of the princess's handmaidens are gathered together in a corner, their faces pale with fear. They quickly rush over to me and begin to explain what has happened."
"One of the candles in the room caught fire and quickly spread," one of them tells me, her voice trembling. "We tried to put it out, but it was too late. The smoke was too thick and we couldn't see anything."
"As I listen carefully to their explanation, my training kicks into gear, and I begin to formulate a plan of action."
"Quickly, gather what you can and follow me," I say firmly, gesturing for them to follow me towards the door. "We must leave this room before the smoke overwhelms us. Stay close and do not stray from my side
